Chapter 12

Everyone had a rather peaceful weekend so it was no surprise that Happy was called in on Monday morning to oversee the meeting with Alveraz. Jax had picked his son up that morning to give him back to Wendy. Sophia rode in with Happy and decided to help Gemma in the office. But once she got there Gemma wasn't there which meant she had to handle the office on her own. With a sigh she got down to work knowing it was best to ignore the fact Gemma was out for who knows how long. Handling the office wasn't all that bad until the boys all started goofing off. "Hey! Back to work or i'll let my husband use you as ginea pigs for any new torture ideas!" She yelled into the garage with a grin on her face. "Sorry Sophia!" It was Lowell who ushered the men back to work but everyone knew she wouldn't do anything. Sophia was better than Gemma at keeping them in line.

A knock on the doorframe had her looking up and smiled at her husband. "Hey you, I thought you had a meeting with Alveraz to oversee?" She raised her head to meet him for a kiss. "The meeting will happen here and Clay wants you there during it." Happy ran a hand over her face before dropping down on the loveseat that was in the office. "Shit Hap babe why the hell does he want me there?" She set the pen down and ran her hands over her face. "I don't know little girl but Alveraz called me and asked me what is going on. I gave him a brief summary of what is going down. How important you were to all that we have accomplished. He wants to meet you but he spun it in a way that made it seem like it was Clay's idea to have you there." He leaned forward with his elbows on his knees as he looked at his wife. "You get in there I want you close to me. If need be sit in my lap and I will have Otto and Opie close by. Quinn had to head back up to Tacoma because he is working something with the boys up there." She sighed and rubbed her eyes as she thought about it.

"Happy do you think we can gain an partnership with Alveraz?" She looked at him as she tapped her fingers on the desk. "If we can talk to him before Clay does maybe. What are you thinking little girl?" He wondered what her brilliant mind was coming up with right now. "Well he wants to meet me right?" He nodded as he sat back to watch her plan be spoken. "Well why don't you give him a call and have him meet us somewhere neutral. We can have a little picnic and still have a meeting with him away from Clay." She smiled at her husband and went back to working on the forms that need filled out. "Little girl you have a scary mind and I love it. I'll set it up while you finish up here." He got up and gave her a kiss before leaving the office. Phone in hand and ready to get his wife's plan started.

Out in the meadows of what used to be an old playground Happy had laid down a blanket and helped his wife sit down. He had parked his bike near the blanket as he set the basket down next to his wife. The roar of a bike had Happy up on his feet and meeting Alveraz who came alone. "Marcus." He held out his hand to welcome Alveraz. "Happy. That your old lady?" He nodded towards the woman on the blanket enjoying a glass of wine. "Yeah come on i'll introduce you to her. She wanted to talk to you about something." Happy led Marcus over to his wife and offered to let him sit down with them. "You must be Marcus Alveraz, i'm Sophia Lowman this mans wife and old lady." She held out a hand and smiled at Alveraz kissed her knuckles. "Your husband said you wanted to talk to me?"

"Between you and me Marcus I think I should warn you about Clay. I know the beef between your club and my husbands club. But as much as the beef amuses me I think it's time to put all that aside and make a new change. Clay has gone rogue but we as a club can't do anything just yet because we need physical proof. Happy has probably told you a bit about what has gone down. Zoebell is an FBI informant and he has used the nords, his daughter and his right hand man Weston to try and hurt the club by going after me and Gemma. Now I am sure you understand that when an attack on a woman happens it normally has the women being raped. I was raped as was Gemma but we found out about Zoebell through his daughter before she was done in by my husband here." She turned around and casually leaned back against her husbands chest.

"My wife wanted us to talk out here because she thinks we can make a partnership work without Clay realizing what is happening. He is dead set on trying to get rid of my wife here. That he has lost sight of who and what we are as a club. Everyone has begun to see what he has turned into. Now he wanted to keep you in the loop with Zoebell but we all agreed that you should keep it quiet for now. Right now Zoebell has found out his daughter and right hand man is missing. He doesn't really know they are dead in the ground. We aren't telling you all this to get sympathy from you." Happy said as he shifted his wife so he could reach the basket and quickly made her a plate. "No I understand what you are saying. I am sorry that happened to you Sophia. And I can see what you mean when you say we need a new change. Mind if I tell my club about all this?" Marcus stood up and put his sungalsses back on. "Sure I don't mind. I know you have a meeting at our clubhouse later with Clay and I know he wants me there for it."

"Well then I will see you there later. Nice meeting you." He left the couple to their picnic and headed back to his own club. After he left Happy laid his wife down and kneeled over her. "You are a devious little girl." She grinned as she pushed the basket over and tugged her husband down for a kiss. "Since its just you and me killer why don't you show me the meaning of animalistic." She was always happy to get her man out of his clothes and inside her. "Oh yes I will little girl." He growled into the kiss as he gave her exactly what she wanted.

After a rather enjoyable picnic with her husband they arrived back at the club where she went back to work in the office. Sitting on the couch in there was Juice and Otto who were both going through what he had found. "Anything boys?" Happy had set Juice to finding anything he could about Cameron Hayes and what he was up to now. "Hey darlin." Otto gave her a hug before letting her sit down in the office chair. "Hey big man. So what did you all find?" She asked and was surprised when Juice handed her a thick folder. Between his friendship with Sophia and Wendy, Otto taking him under his wing Juice was beginning to come into his own. He was seeing the same things everyone else saw. She opened the file and began leafing through the papers and photos. "Shit. Is this for real? You know what I think Happy is going to have a blast with this." She looked at the boys and set the file aside. "Juice I need you to keep tabs on Cameron and his son. Otto I need you to update my husband but we don't need to act on it just yet. There is a meet with him and his son later over guns. Then after that Alveraz will be here for a meeting with the club."

She handed the file to Otto and shoo'd them away while she got back to work. There were files she needed to fill out and orders she needed to have picked up by the owners of the vehicles. "Need some help in here Sophia?" And then there was the person she had hoped didn't come in today. "Hello Gemma, yes finished orders need to be called so the owners can come pick up their vehicles." She was playing nice because she had to and that was all. She absolutely hated Gemma with a passion and would happily kill her if given the chance. "How are you feeling Gemma?" She didn't really want to know but thought it was best to ask anyways. "I'm okay sweetheart still a bit sore but i'm doing fine." The older woman got to work not willing talk to Sophia anymore.

Hours later it was the roaring of bikes that brought Sophia out of the office. She saw her husband park his bike and quickly make his way to her. Sweeping her in his arms and kissing her tenderly. "How was the meet with Cameron?" She asked against his lips as her arms went around his neck. "It went well and Otto filled me in on Cameron and his son. Don't worry little girl i'll handle it when the time comes. For now we have to plan runs to haul the guns. We carry more of the heat with the new arrangement we made." She pulled away and raised a brow as she silently asked for more details. Most of the men don't keep their old ladies in the loop but Happy never hid anything from her. "We use the bedrolls on our bikes to haul the guns. It's risky I know but right now its the only way we can haul our guns." His hands were tight on her hips which was his tell that he didn't like this at all.

"Jesus Hap...if any of you are caught with those guns you could do some serious time. What the hell were they thinking making you all do this?" She pushed her husband away and began to pace in front of his bike. "Okay so you all carry the bigger risk with these runs. But what if I can find a better way for you all to haul these guns. A way for you all to do the runs and still move the guns without carrying the risk?" She looked at her husband and then at Jax seeing as Clay was nowhere to be seen. "If you can pull it off darlin then go for it. I'll make sure Clay understands and goes along with it." Jax gave her the go ahead and so she pulled out her phone and walked off. She had someone in mind that would do the work and then some. An old friend that was loyal to her and her husband. "Tanner I got work for you if your interested." She waited for a moment before she heard him speak. "Your old man must be in some serious heat if your calling me sweetness." She rolled her eyes and handed the phone to her husband. "Tanner." His gruff voice alerted the man to who he was talking to now. "Well if it ain't the killer. Keeping our girl well taken care I hope."

"Sophia is fine. Got a semi long term job for you. Still got that big rig of yours?" Happy asked as he pulled his wife close. "Oh yeah the loads I do ain't doing shit so I been hoping to be called in. Whatcha got for me to do that has our princess calling me." Tanner despite his flirting was so gay that he would shit rainbows if he could. Happy and Sophia helped him out way back when they first got together. He's been loyal ever since and neither of them batted an eye at his sexuality. "Need a more subtle way of getting our guns to their buyers without tipping off any feds. Pay is good and you'll be working for us. Can load up the trailer without anyone the wiser." Happy turned his head and nuzzled her temple as he waited for Tanner to respond. "Alright handsome you get it approved and i'm your man. You text me the when and where and i'll be there." He heard Tanner hang up and handed the phone to his wife. "Tanner is onboard little girl. I'll let the guys know and we can get the guns out safer."

"I love you killer." She kissed his cheek as she heard more bikes rumble onto the lot. It seems like the Mayans are here and she had to be in the room with the boys. "Let's do this babe." She looked at Happy and let him search her eyes. "You'll be okay little girl. We'll all be there with you little girl." He led her into the clubhouse and into the room where they had church. He sat down and pulled her into his lap and watched as Otto and Opie sat on either side of them. Everyone was soon sitting or standing around the table. "We have reason to believe Ethan Zoebell is an FBI informant and he has been trying to reach out to you." Clay started out as he looked at Alveraz. "He has and seems to want to trade coke with guns. He thinks it will buy him protection from you all." Marcus said as he briefly looked over at Sophia. "And why is a woman sitting in on this meeting ese?" He knew of course but he had to play the part. "That is Sophia, Happy's old lady. She was the one to give us the intel." Clay said as he gave her the floor. "Yes Ethan Zoebell is an FBI informant and has a history of destroying clubs. The last town he was in War Boys MC crumbled and went away for some serious hard time. We think you should let him in until we can figure out a way to kill him without it blowing back on us."

She leaned back against her husband and tuned out the rest of the meeting. She said her piece and let the boys hash it all out that is until Jax said her name. "Yeah?" She was curious on what he wanted from her. "You offered a better way for us to haul our guns. What is this offer you had in mind." He was doing this in front of Alveraz because it was the only way to get Clay on board. "Me and Happy have a loyal contact. He is a truck driver and is very willing to haul the guns so none of you fall under the radar of the feds. Tanner will never say a word and he will never let the feds find those guns. You give him a cover and he can haul you guns no problem." She crossed her arms over her chest as she grinned. "How long have you known this man?" Clay asked realizing it was a good idea and would have to swallow his pride. "We've known Tanner for as long as Me and Sophia have been together. We saved him and have given him a family. He's gay and will do anything we ask of him." Happy said as he ran a hand down her side then back up. "Alright he can haul the guns but we need a proper cover for him to use."

Clay was thinking about how to turn this to his advantage. "I'll let you all settle for a cover and then Hap can call him. I need to get back to the office." She got up and kissed her husband before heading out the room and back to the office. She really hated Clay and she had a feeling he was going to try and turn Tanner against her and Happy. Not that it would work because Tanner was like her husband when it came to loyalty. Tanner was a man who was lost until he met them and Sophia knew Happy would never let anything happen to him. She spent the rest of the day in the office doing paperwork and ignoring Gemma. A knock alerted her to her husband arriving in the office. "Let's go home little girl." She was happy to head home with her husband. As soon as she was on his bike they were on their way home for the night. Everything else could wait till morning all she wanted was to be alone with her husband.

Author's Note: Next up more chaos and a few runs. Tanner is only a background character and won't get a lot of screen time.
