Revealing The Truth
Inside the Rosary...
Tsukune, Mizore and Touhou Fuhai continued watching as Moka's memories passed by. It was almost incredible, it felt as if hours and even days were passing as they were there, but as Touhou explained it was merely minutes in the real world. After Akua had saved Moka from those Triad monsters, it seems time progressed now to a happy occasion. The trio could see fireworks going off on the castle grounds and ass they peered inside they saw a party going on. But not any mere party, it was Moka's tenth birthday party! "Wow, so many people in one place, I wish my birthdays were like this." Mizore mentioned as she and Tsukune looked in from the window.
Inside, there were dozens of guests, probably all friends of Moka's father or mother, that were in attendance, and right next to Moka were her sisters who all seemed to have gotten her some sort of gift. First was Kahlua who got Moka what the older sister claimed was a giant stuffed bunny rabbit, but Tsukune and Mizore swore it looked closer to creature in a manga than an actual rabbit. Cute gift though, kind of strange to think that sister tried to kill us not to long ago. After Kahlua was Kokoa who gifted Moka Kou, the familiar, of all things. However, the two teens quickly learned that the reason why Moka didn't end up with the creature. It was too heavy! Kokoa claimed it weighed roughly 100 kilograms and Moka didn't have the same superhuman type strength that Kokoa had (which the two found odd, considering Moka's power output). "But wait...didn't we see Ben toss that thing to Kokoa as if it were no heavier than a knife?" Mizore asked, referring to the first time they saw Ben and Kokoa face off against each other.
"I've seen him toss a 350-kilogram dumbbell at Chopper Rikishi back in freshman year, and he's mentioned that he can lift close to 20 tons. So it isn't that surprising I suppose." Tsukune stated, causing the yuki-onna to nod.
Finally, there was Akua. She seemed especially happy to show Moka what she had gotten her sister. The teens watched as the eldest Shuzen gave Moka a small box and had her go off somewhere. After a short while, Moka returned wearing a beautiful red dress. Moka did a couple of twirls for the guests to show off the new dress, and the teens saw the expression on her face as she turned back to her sisters. "Wow, she really looks so happy. Being surrounded by her family she looks so at peace.
"I bet Ben would really like to see her in that dress." Mizore mumbled as she cupped her chin, "Anyways, I still can't wrap my head around the whole time distortion thing, or those earthquakes earlier that suddenly stopped."
Touhou took a long puff from his tobacco pipe and nodded, "Yes, it's because time flows like fragments in this world." The teens cocked their eyebrows in confusion, leading the old man to sigh before continuing. "We are in Moka's memories, yes?" the teens nodded, "Well, just like when actually thinking about your memories normally, you won't get every detail completely correct nor will you remember every little thing that occurred. We are essentially just seeing core memories that Moka has of her family, at least the ones that the rosary is hiding from us."
Tsukune gulped, "W-Well, this has all been enlightening, but I think it's rude to look through Moka's memories anymore. Don't you think we should be getting back soon?"
Touhou let out a slight chuckle before blowing out a large puff of smoke, "It's a little too late for you to say anything now, sonny." Tsukune gave a slight gasp before Touhou continued, "Escaping from this world without contact from the 'outside' is almost entirely impossible. We can't get anywhere rushing through things. Also, Moka's mother, Akasha, is an old friend of mine. I'd like to see how things play out in these memories."
Mizore blinked a few times before a realization came to her, "Hey, doesn't Moka's mother disappear soon after this? It seems weird right? Like, judging by how everyone acts around each other it doesn't seem like anything would happen."
"I believe we'll only find out if we continue watching the memory." Touhou mentioned, and the teens nodded.
They continued watching the party play out as normal, and at some point, Akasha and Moka's father, Issa left to go discuss something. It was difficult to hear anything, but the teens were able to make out a name: Gyokuro. And it sounded as if she was the mother to Kokoa and Kahlua. It also seems as if she doesn't like Akasha. The revelation made Mizore blink a few times in confusion before doing some mental math to make sure she understood everything right. Either he's an unfaithful man, or that woman just has vials of his seed locked up somewhere. she thought with a nod. The two vampires stopped their conversation and looked towards the room door that led out to the hallway. Akasha looked at Issa and he nodded to her. She walked over to the door with a concerned look and looked out into the hall, only to see nothing. The teens, however, could see Akua and Moka quickly walking away from that location.
"Look, Akua is taking Moka somewhere." Tsukune mentioned and Touhou nodded. The trio followed along, keeping a safe distance from them, and watched as Akua led Moka to a burial site not too far from the castle, just below some bluffs. Against the jagged plateau there was a door with many locks, locks which were being broken off one by one by Akua.
"Hehehe, this is so funny." Akua chuckled, "All the locks in the world could be on this door and they still would be no match for me." Up above the two vampires sat the trio on their flying carpet, continuing to watch intently so as to not be seen by those in the memories. Wouldn't want to mess up Moka's head like Touhou seemed to insinuate earlier. They looked down below and saw Akua take her index finger and phase it through each lock, each one clicking and popping open as she did so.
"Um, big sis," Moka gulped as she looked at her surroundings, "Didn't mother tell us not to come near here under any circumstances?"
Akua turned to her younger sister with a sly grin, What's the matter Moka, are you scared?" she continued to laugh as she broke open the final lock and removed the chains of the door before walking through, beckoning her sister to follow. Moka stood still, hesitating for a short moment before following Akua.
"Hm...that can't be good." Touhou mentioned.
"Why? What's wrong?" Tsukune asked, worry present in his voice, "What could happen down there?"
Touhou remained silent, taking a puff of his pipe a few times before sighing, "I suppose it is best that you know." he stated, "Down in that dungeon lay a creature who has been in hibernation for over two hundred years. That creature is one of the worst monsters who ever roamed the land. A powerful and dangerous Shinso by the name of Alucard."
Tsukune blinked at the name, "As...as in the son of Dracula?" he asked.
"The very same." Touhou said with a nod. "It was he who slain his father the first time and absorbed his power, however he wasn't satisfied. After everything he had done, the humans still shone him, tried to kill him and the familly he made for himself. Because of that, and likely due to absorbing the powers and memories of his own father, he took resentment upon humanity and tried to rid them himself. When he was defeated those two centuries ago, he was not killed and instead was placed in hibernation. Who knows when he'd wake up again." Touhou frowned as the two vampires came out of the dungeon, "Come, we should leave this place. I have a feeling we will have our answer on what happened to Akasha very soon."
The trio followed Moka back to the castle. Looking through the window they could see Akasha approaching her daughter. "She looks so serious, what do you think she'll-" before Tsukune could even finish his sentence, he and the other two watched as Akasha slapped her daughter across the face, leaving a large red mark.
"How could you do that!?" they heard Akasha yell from behind the window, "That...That's..." she growled in annoyance, and possibly fear, as she quickly stomped off towards Moka's room.
Before the trio knew it, Akasha had a suitcase packed for Moka with a large variety of clothes. "M-Mother? Mother what are you doing?" the trio heard Moka ask, "Why are you packing my things? What have I done?" Though they could not get a good glimpse of her face, both Mizore and Tsukune could tell that Moka was on the verge of tears.
"You can see what I'm doing Moka, first thing tomorrow morning you are to leave this mansion." Akasha huffed and Moka gasped in surprise.
"Y-You're joking right?" Moka cried out, "Is it because I saw that thing in the underground? Is it because I didn't listen to you? I'm sorry, honestly!"
"No!" Akasha shouted before gulping and taking a deep breath. "No," she repeated much more calmly, "This is a decision that Issa and I had decided upon well before you saw...'that'. And the people that will be taking care of you have also agreed to this. You were eavesdropping on us last night, weren't you?"
"I get what you mean now." Mizore whispred, "We are seeing the main events of the memory. Like a really fucked up clip show or recap episode of an anime."
"Why...why?" Moka asked, the tears now starting to come out, "Is it wrong for me to be here? Am I in your way?" Akasha gave a sweet smile before she reached into a drawer and pulled out the rosary and choker that Moka is known for wearing. "What is this?" she asked.
Akasha smiled and placed the rosary in Moka's hands, "This is a special charm that I made with a rosary and choker. I'm sure it will help you sometime in the future." Moka held up the charm and looked at it intently, the red jewel staring back at her. "Believe me when I tell you this Moka, I want you to be happy living life as a normal girl," Akasha explained, "So we may part ways now, and until the day when I can tell you everything, please don't ask me why." Finally, it was too much. Moka's emotions got the best of her, and she left the room, throwing the rosary back towards Akasha.
Almost immediately the scene changed, the form of Akasha disappeared from the room the trio was just looking at, and the forms of Moka, Kokoa, Kahlua, as well as the various other vampires that stayed in the castle, appeared down in the front courtyard where a limousine. It was obvious to tell what this was. It was the moment Moka left home, if it wasn't obvious before, it was made painfully obvious by the sound of Kokoa's wailing. "WAAAAAAAAAGH! D-D-Don't leave, b-big sis!" Kokoa cried out, tears streaming down her face, "Please don't leave me! I mean, what about our battles? Quitting while you're ahead is so unfair!"
"Oh, Kokoa..." Moka gave a faint smile and kept her head down as to not show how sad she truly was, "I'm sorry, but there isn't anything I can do about this either. Please don't make this harder than it already is."
"Come now, it's time for us to go, Lady Moka." the driver of the limousine said with a bow as he held the door to the back seat open. Moka nodded and got in, but after a short time, the driver left.
"How terrible." Tsukune said with a frown.
Mizore cupped her chin in thought before an idea came to her, "Hold on, that should be it, shouldn't it? From what we know, Moka left at this moment. Which means that her mother left while she was gone."
"So?" Tsukune asked, "What does that matter?"
"It means that this should be the end of the memory, no? Moka never came back here, right? So why is the memory still going on?"
Before Tsukune could say anything, Touhou pointed to a window that overlooked the courtyard. Behind the window, Akasha stood on the staircase, watching as Moka left. "Look," he called out, "the memory continues."
On the stairway as Akasha looked out to Moka, with a seemingly sad face, Akua approached her from the bottom of the stairs. "You sure you don't want to say goodbye?" she asked.
Akasha clicked her tongue, "If I go and see Moka's face now...I'll regret my decision. It's the same for you, isn't it?" she asked without even looking at the eldest Shuzen sister.
Akua gave a sweet smile before she started to climb the stairs, "Aiya, seems you already know who I 'really am' do you?" she asked with a sigh, "And father left early for work...were you trying to lure me out perhaps?" she chuckled. Akasha had a smirk purse her lips, but she still did not turn towards Akua, and the Shuzen continued climbing the stairs. "A long time ago, there was a Shinso that tried to wipe out the human world. Said Shinso's name was Alucard. Son of Dracula, said to be the oldest living vampire at the time. However, his ambitions were ruined by the appearance of another Shinso. Said Shinso was accompanied, initially, by two other comrades, but as time went on, they made some unintentional allies. An ancient vampire hunter, a powerful witch, the Sorcerer Supreme, and a Spirit of Vengeance. Through their exploits, they were the ones who won against and enchanted Alucard. The three initial monsters were so powerful they gained the name of: 'The Three Great Dark Lords', their allies whom they were teamed with, were known as: 'The Order of the Midnight Suns'. Though the Midnight Suns have been inactive for the last few generations, the Dark Lords continue to watch over the sleeping corpse of Alucard." Akasha smiled and finally turned to Akua, who continued, a determined look adorned on her face. "I want the blood of the Shinso in that legend. I want that huge power. In other words..." Akua stopped, just ten or fifteen steps away from Akasha and pointed directly at her, "What I'm after is you, leader of the Three Great Dark Lords, Shinso vampire: Akasha Bloodriver!"
The room was silent for some time, Akasha stopped looking at Akua and instead looked back towards the horizon secretly hoping she would see Moka one last time. "Are you sure you're not regretting it, Akasha?" Akua asked, "Chasing Moka out of the mansion like that." Akua once again began her ascent up the stairs, "I'm guessing that you sent her away because you discovered my 'True Identity', but to be honest, I'm surprised. I thought the two of you would never fall apart, no matter what happens. The two of you were always there to support each other, you two had a connection deeper than anyone else in this family." Akua stopped and gave a sweet smile, "I was always so jealous of you two."
Akasha was silent for a time, before she responded, still not looking at Akua. "Moka had a really hard time at birth," she started, "so when she was born, she was close to death."
"Death?" Akua asked, surprised by the sudden backstory.
"Yes, death." Akasha nodded, "That was the first time I prayed to God. 'I don't care what happens to me, but please save my child.'" Akasha finally turned to Akua and she had a sincere smile on her face, "Those feelings haven't changed one bit."
The two stared down before Akua nodded, "I love Moka a lot too." she agreed, "It's strange, but I get this warm feeling when I'm with her."
"Yes, she was especially attached to you." Akasha laughed.
"Yeah, yeah! Even though our personalities were totally different, it made us an even better match, huh?" Akasha agreed with a laugh of her own. "That's why I'm grateful to you. For taking her away from the mansion." she sighed, "I had intended to take action earlier, but whenever I thought of Moka, I would hesitate, and before I noticed, an entire year had passed." The trio watched intently from the outside. "I mean, if you die, Moka would be really sad, right?" Akua continued. "I have my own goal. That is to obtain the power of the Shinso Alucard once possessed, where he was considered the strongest vampire. That's why I need your blood!" she exclaimed by throwing her arm in the air, "The blood of those who defeated Alucard, the ones called The Three Great Dark Lords, the blood of a Shinso!"
Akasha stared at Akua, an almost amused look on her face, "Then? What are you gonna do after becoming a Shinso?" she asked, "Are you going to follow Alucard and wipe out the human world which has caused you so much pain? Because even if that is your plan, the humans are no mere pushovers anymore. Mutants, Mutates, Meta-humans. They've evolved Akua, evolved before our very eyes. I know for a fact that there is a vampire hunter who has defeated Dracula and his clones several times over. I know that a Bloodstone still lives. I know that a Spirit of Vengeance is always on the prowl. And I know that the Sorcerer Supreme is said to be one of the most powerful to take the mantle." hearing this Akua frowned, "But," Akasha chuckled, "I won't run or hide. I don't mind, come at me with whatever you have. I've told everyone to stay away from here today...nobody will disturb us." Akasha stood at the top of the steps with her arms open wide, and Akua was almost surprised by her statement.
"Thank you," Akua smiled and nodded, "I suppose I am indebted to you, Akasha."
Akasha bowed and placed a hand to her breast, "Come now, Akua. I'll take care of all those feelings that you carry."
"I...I can't believe it. To think that Moka's mother and sister would..." Tsukune shook his head, trying to comprehend it all.
"And this is the first time we've heard about it ourselves...that her mother was the leader of the Three Great Dark Lords, I mean." Mizore finished.
"Well, it's not like I was trying to hide it." Touhou said as he puffed on his pipe again, "'The Three Great Dark Lords' is nothing more than a title that someone stuck onto us. It's been so long I don't even remember who gave us the name anymore." he chuckled, "Regardless, it isn't something we gave ourselves. Of course, at her best, Akasha's unrivalled strength made her worthy of the title of a Dark Lord. But since long ago, she's always had one unchanging weakness, that she was 'too nice'. Making her fight her own daughter is just too cruel." The trio looked down again and watched as Akasha led Akua to a large halway that was lined with armored suits. "On the other hand," Touhou continued, "Akua obviously intends to kill her. She needs to absorb a large amount of Akasha's blood to take the power of a Shinso. And Akua has that secret technique she showed us earlier too."
"Secret technique?" Tsukune asked.
Looking down below both the vampires faced back-to-back before taking ten paces in opposite directions of each other, then, the woman turned, bowed, and got into their fighting stance. Akasha's stance was similar to Moka's except that her left hand was more relaxed and floating by her waist. Akua had her regular stance. It was quiet, the two strafed around each other before stopping again. It was Akua who was the first to move, dashing forward at near lightning-fast speeds, so fast even Akasha seemed surprised. Akasha saw Akua's hand coming at her, and she sidestepped the attack and watched as Akua's hand phased through the arm of the armored suit that was directly behind Akasha. The older vampire gasped in surprise, "You...that technique!"
Akua grinned, "Even I won't challenge a Shinso without my own trump card." she stated as she slowly pulled her hand out of the armor. "Look familiar? This secret technique uses barrier arts that allow me to delay my existence. Which, in turn, allows me to pass through and destroy any physical object." Akua made her point by swinging her hands through the two sets of armor right by her, they were automatically cut into several pieces as her fingers passed through. "Houogetsu Jigen-Tou! The world's most powerful blade, used by Touhou Fuhai of the Three Great Dark Lords himself!"
Akasha scoffed, "Such a sinister child. To be able to use the Jigen-Tou, which is said that only Touhou Fuhai could use...and at such a young age too."
Akua smirked, "Impressed?" she asked, "I've been living with the Miu Family ever since I was small. I had to fight many enemies while I worked as an assassin, and during that time, I researched and perfected Touhou Fuhai's technique." Akasha's eyes widened as Akua came towards her again. Akasha tried to avoid the attack by backing up and leaning to avoid the slice, but the tips of Akua's fingers still slid down Akasha's torso, from her left clavicle to her right hip. Akasha felt the blood leave her body and she tried to quickly adjust her body in air so that she could be prepared for the next attack. Akasha performed a backflip and landed on hand and knees and slid backward a few feet, "Where are you looking, I'm behind you!" Akua yelled out as she flanked the older vampire. Akasha leaned forward, but still gained a large cut to the back of her neck.
"Damn, she's fast." Akasha mumbled to herself before she performed several handsprings and cartwheel's before landing in a defensive position again.
Akasha looked all around, but she couldn't see where Akua was. "Hyakujin Ryouran!" Akasha gasped and looked up to see Akua spinning and flying at her, as if she were a bullet. The attack landed head-on and there was a massive explosion from the force of the attack that broke up parts of the wall, floorboards, and knocked over a bunch of suits of armor. Akasha, herself, was sent flying across the room before colliding with the wall, cratering it in the process.
Akua glared at Akasha as she slowly got up from the attack, "Hmm? What's wrong, Akasha? Weren't you going to 'take care of me?'" she chuckled, "That shouldn't be the power that I want from you." As the dust began to settle, and Akasha used the wall as leverage to lift herself up, Akua could see the damage she inflicted, Akasha's dress was ripped all over and her right arm was practically holding on by threads of muscle as she was cut at her shoulder and halfway through her triceps. Akua looked a little disappointed that Akasha wasn't going all out like she would have hoped, but she still felt pride in injuring a Shinso in the flesh. "The Shinso are a sublime existence like the stars. Their power far surpasses that of any average vampire, they say that the huge power is even deeper and more beautiful than black darkness." her smirk quickly turned to a frown, "I think it's about time you show me the true power of a Legendary Shinso, Akasha."
"Ha ha..." Akasha started, causing Akua to gasp, "Hahahehehe, you really are strong, aren't you, Akua? But you're still holding back as well, aren't you? You can't damage me with just that." Akasha's point was proven as her wounds immediately began to heal at a speed which could rival The Wolverine's. "You aren't as calm as you think you are." Akasha said, almost taunting Akua, "Even though we may not be blood relataed, as your 'mother' I can tell..." her wound fully healed and she rolled her shoulder to make sure everything was feeling good, "If it hurts...we can still stop, Akua."
Akua's eyes widened, both in surprise, but also in frustration, "What?" she asked through her teeth.
Suddenly, one of the doors burst off its hinges and in ran Moka, "STOP!" she shouted, huffing and puffing, as if she just ran a marathon, which may be the case because from what Tsukune and the other two saw the car had gotten pretty far. "What...is the meaning of this? Why are you covered in blood, mother?" the two women looked at each other before looking back at Moka, "You're the worst Akua!" she yelled out, "Don't you hurt mother!"
Akua stared at her sister with a hurt expression because she knew she hurt her. It was exactly what Akua didn't want Moka to see. That was it, it was too late. Moka saw everything, so nowhere left to go, may as well fully commit. Moka gasped as she saw Akasha move, "Mother, look out!" In an instant, Akua was behind Akasha and in a blink of an eye, Akua had done it. She cut down Akasha right in front of Moka, split in two, right at the belt. It was too late, Moka had already seen her fighting Akasha, may as well finish the job. "MOTHER!" Moka shouted out, tears streaming down her face. Moka went to rush to Akasha's side, but Akua held her hand up and told her sister to stay put.
"Stay back, Moka, it's best if you don't see this." Akua said as she started to lick Akasha's blood off her hand, meanwhile Moka only stood still with a betrayed look. "I'm sorry, this is who I truly am. Remember what I showed you yesterday? That creature hidden under this mansion? Despising humans, hating the world, those who try and defy destiny by destroying everything, the transcendental vampire...I am one of those who have succeeded that wish. A descendant of Alucard."
Moka's expression seemed to change, no longer was she hurt and betrayed, but now she was angry. Something snapped in her and the trio could see it in her eyes. "Get..." Moka muttered, "GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY!" Akua's eyes widened as Moka quickly closed the distance between the two of them and sent a ferocious right head kick that the eldest Shuzen barely blocked with her left hand, though it cost her her wrist as it snapped on impact. The force of the blow sent Akua flying across the room, sliding along the ground, and tearing up the floorboard. As akua struggled to sit up she looked to Moka who was seething in anger as tears welled up in her eyes...until finally she let it all out. "UWAAAAAAAH!" she cried out, her power and aura increasing tremendously.
"Wait, what the hell?" Akua asked herself, trying to not get blinded by the intense light coming from Moka's aura, "This power...this terrifying power. Stronger than everything, as if darkness was enveloping everything. She's...SHE'S A SHINSO?" Akua got to her feet, ready to defend herself, when all of a sudden there was a large tremor that shook the entire mansion. "An earthquake?" she asked.
"Akua..." Moka growled.
"Oh, Moka." Akua said as her younger sister approached her.
"Why?" Moka asked, "WHY DID YOU KILL MOTHER!?" Moka screamed as she charged forward to attack again.
"Shit!" Akua quickly side-stepped Moka's attack and watched as she completely decimated the wall behind Akua, "Damn, that was close."
Outside, Tsukune, Mizore and Touhou continued to watch. Again, a rumbling was heard. "What is that? The earthquakes? Are they the same as earlier?" Tsukune asked.
"No, these are normal. These are part of the memory." Touhou stated, "This is bad though. I didn't think something like this would happen. Here it comes!" suddenly, the ground in the mansion started to crack and out popped these giant tentacles, looking as if they were designed by Geiger himself.
"What the hell is this?" Tsukune yelled out as he held his hands out to defend against the rubble but was assisted by Mizore who formed an ice shield.
Touhou grimaced and practically bit through his pipe, "This...This is Alucard."
The trio looked down again and saw a giant Geiger hand propping Moka up like a trophy and keeping her in place with a half dozen or so tendrils that wrapped around her and stuck into her body as if she was some sort of battery. "Oh no, Moka!" Akua yelled out. She tried to go after her but was stopped by a tendril herself that also bit into her and tried to absorb her energy. "Dammit! Not here!" Just as the situation seemed bleak, the tendrils were suddenly cut off Akua.
"Careful, Akua, if those tendrils get you and latch on, it will suck out your blood and energy. Then you'll become one with Alucard." Akua's eyes widened in disbelief as not even two meters away from her, Akasha was standing alive and well, the injury she sustained now healed and her body reattached. "Having slept for two hundred years, I'm sure he's hungry. If you unleash your power carelessly, he'll think that you're food, then you'll be targeted like Moka."
Akua still stared at Akasha in disbelief, "N-No way...I cut you in half, you are supposed to be dead!"
Akasha let out a light laugh, "Unfortunately, or rather fortunately, this is a very sturdy body. So, cutting me in half won't quite do the trick." Akasha began walking towards Akua and the eldest Shuzen immediately put her guard up. But instead of harming her, Akasha simply gave Akua a quick hug, "I'm sorry, Akua. Sorry that I wasn't able to take care of you earlier. I want to help you some more, but at this rate Moka will be completely absorbed by Alucard if I don't act quickly. And I'm sure you don't want that. If you don't mind...could you do me a favor, if it means helping Moka?" Akua was silent for a quick second, but one glance at Moka and she nodded. Akasha leaned in close and whispered something into Akua's ear before pulling away and smiling, "That's alright, isn't it? Since you are such a good sister?" Akasha began to remove her tattered clothing to reveal her girdle and booty shorts. "Hang on Moka, I'll be there soon."
Tsukune and Mizore gasped in surprise, "To...to think this would happen." Tsukune gulped.
"Hm...there is nothing to be surprised of." Touhou stated, "Even Among vampires, Akasha is extremely strong and possesses extraordinary regenerative abilities. Akasha the Nosferatu, if she fights seriously there is no one who can kill her. Strong enough she could go toe-to-toe with even the likes of a Spirit of Vengeance." he remarked. The two teens just stared in awe at the vampire before them, "She was also the one responsible for defeating and sealing away Alucard nearly two hundred years ago. However, there was one miscalculation back then. As Akasha used her power to seal away Alucard, it was then that their Shinso blood had been synchronized. Which means Akasha's awakening would be linked to Alucard's own awakening. And for that Akasha has compressed her power and kept a watchful eye on that seal." Touhou scratched his chin and hummed, "However, there was one miscalculation of my own, I had never known that her daughter, Moka, had received the Shinso power from Akasha."
"But if Akasha knew this why didn't she do something sooner?" Mizore asked.
"A good question," Touhou nodded, "But it seems that even if Moka inherited Akasha's blood, there was no reason her blood too should be synchronized with Alucard's. However, it seems as if fate has changed this. The moment that Moka's Shinso power awakened, Alucard also awoke from his slumber." In the distance the trio could hear Moka's screams of pain.
Down below, Akasha and Akua, setting aside their feud (moreso Akua than Akasha), and the two raced to help Moka. Akua tried using her Jigen-Tou, however the moment that she cut down the giant tendrils with xenomorph-like faces, they instantly regenerated. Akua gasped as several large tendrils came for her, but she was saved thanks to Akasha. "In order to damage them you need to thoroughly destroy them. Observe." Akasha set Akua down and let out a mighty huff, sending an atomic kick at one of the tendrils that opened its mouth to swallow Akasha whole, instead her kick completely decimated the tendril, leaving nothing but a few meaty chunks and some teeth. Both Akua and Moka stared in awe at the power of their mother. "I'll have you go back to sleep again, Alucard. I won't let you take away my beloved daughter." she smirked, "Know your place." Akasha crouched into a ready position before blasting off forward toward a whole horde of these xenomorph looking tendrils. She sent kicks, both high and low, knees, roundhouses, cartwheel kicks, and tornado kicks. Anything that would destroy the tendrils, and soon there was nothing but destruction in her wake as she made her way towards Moka.
Akasha began hopping from tendril to tendril, the sheer force of the power from her jump caused the tendrils to explode. However, her time was still limited, as she made her way towards the hand that held Moka, she saw the fingers begin to close in around her. "Mom!" Moka yelled out.
Akasha's eyes became more focused, and she put everything she had into reaching her daughter, "As if! I won't let you take my daughter!" As Akasha got closer and the hands began to close in more, making a cage, Akasha went for it and dove right at the soon to be prison, however as she did so she was stabbed by a little more than a half dozen thin tendrils.
"Mother!" Moka yelled out, tears in her eyes, but almost instantly her tears were put on hold, as Akasha had made it to her, and placed the choker and rosery on Moka's neck. She was full of tendrils and her life was being drained by the second, but she made it to her daughter, perhaps just in time.
The two vampires stared at each other, tears running down both their faces. "Oh, Moka," Akasha started as she wiped a few tears off Moka's cheek, "I'm sorry, all this that has happened is my fault. There were a lot of difficulties when I gave birth to you, and you were on the verge of death the moment you were born. So, I gave you as much of my blood as I could to revive you. Despite knowing how dangerous it was. But I don't regret it, not one bit." Akasha cried, "Because to me, you are the most important treasure in my life." she swallowed a lump in her throat and continued, "This is goodbye, Moka. The life force of Alucard is far too powerful for us to kill, so the only way to stop him is to be eaten on purpose, then seal him from the inside."
Moka's eyes widened as she looked down at the tendrils going in and out of her mother, as Akasha broke the tendrils off Moka. Immediately, Moka could put two and two togther, "Mother...no. No please!"
"I don't think I can come back this time." Akasha said with a smile.
Moka shook her head in disbelief, "No, no what are you saying?!" she cried, "You're invincible aren't you, mother? You were cut in half and still survived. Please don't go anywhere! I don't want to say goodbye!"
Akasha's lip trembled as she looked at her daughter, her mascara running down her face. "I'm sorry," Akasha extended her index and middle finger and they glowed with some sort of aura. She then placed those two fingers on the center bead of the rosary. Immediately the power was felt as the rosary began to glow and Moka began to feel weaker than before.
"Mom? Mom what is this rosary?" she cried out, "Mother, I'm scared, please!" as the rosary was beginning its seal, Moka was squirming and yelling out in pain.
"I'm sorry!" Akasha apologized again as she covered her mouth with her hands, "Please...forgive your mother." soon the rosary began to glow more, and a large shining beacon shone up to the sky.
"What is this intense light!?" Tsukune yelled out as he and Mizore covered his eyes, "What's happening to Moka?"
"I see," Touhou stated, "I get it now, it all makes sense. This is Moka's 'sealing ceremony'." he explained.
As the seal seemed to finish its ceremony, Akasha kneeled as close as she could to her daughter. "Moka..." she began, "the Shinso blood that is flowing within you is synchronized with Alucard's. And right now, it's completely connected with you. In other words, in order to make Alucard fall back to his slumber, I must seal away the Shinso blood inside you first. And that is what the rosary is for." Moka lay on the ground and continued to groan in pain. "I'm sorry!" Akasha cried, hating to see her daughter in so much pain, "Sealing away the Shinso means that I must seal you away as well. But trust me...this isn't dangerous. Even if it's called a seal, you'll just be put to sleep...and besides, starting today, that rosary will protect you."
"T-The rosary?" Moka asked.
Akasha nodded, "The 'fake' personality that is born from the rosary, that new personality will take your place while you're asleep and protect both the seal and your body." Mizore and Tsukune's eyes both widened in realization. They didn't need a genius like Ben to put two and two together on this one. The 'Outer' Moka they knew, the one they arguably know the best, she was nothing more than a façade, a fake, a funhouse mirror copy of the genuine article that is the 'Inner' Moka. "I'm sorry for doing this to you," Akasha apologized again, "But I have no other choice. In order to put Alucard back to sleep and stop him from destroying the world, this is the only option I have."
"Look, Moka's silver hair!" Mizore pointed out, "It's changing to the same color as Akasha's."
Tsukune shook his head, still trying to wrap his head around everything, "Fake personality?" he asked himself.
"Don't worry, the seal isn't permanent." Akasha reassured, "One day, when that rosary is removed, your personality and one part of your strength will be released." As Akasha said that, the floor below her opened up and many tendrils began to come out of the floor as if it was some sort of mouth.
"Mother!" Moka cried out, stretching her arm out as far as she could as she watched the dozens upon dozens of tendrils come up and wrap themselves around her mother.
"And the only one who can remove that rosary is someone who means know harm and truly cares for you." Akasha said with a smile, as if she wasn't being devoured whole, "You too will meet your destined person one day, and when that time comes, I pray that you find happiness." soon the tendrils began to wrap up all the way around Akasha's torso and began to cover her face, "Goodbye, don't give up, and behave yourself...Remember, I'll always love you, Moka."
"No! Mother!" Moka shouted as her mother began to descend into the creature, "MOTHER!" before Moka knew it, the hole in the ground was covered up, and Akasha was nowhere to be seen.
Tsukune, and Mizore both, couldn't help but sit there on that carpet with tears in their eyes, knowing there was nothing they could have done to help. "What was that?" Mizore asked suddenly as she heard a loud cracking sound. Looking up, she could see that the sky was beginning to crack as if it was glass, "Huh? The sky? What's-AGH!" before she could even finish, the sky shattered and began to drop onto the world, "What's happening? Why did the sky break?" Touhou could only bite his lip. This is just as I feared, he thought.
"This is the end of the dream!" a voice called out, "This is the final stop of the memories sealed inside Moka. You need to get out of here quickly or you'll all disappear together with this dream!"
"That voice," Mizore said in realization, "Don't tell me that it's-"
"This way, Tsukune, Mizore!" the voice called, a hand appearing from the void of the sky. Soon more than a hand popped out as Kurumu completely popped out of the sky and flew down towards Tsukune and the others. "TSUKUNE!" she shouted as she completely tackled the boy and shoved his head between her chest, "I'm so happy! I'm so glad you're alright!"
"Nice work finding your way here, alone, deary." Touhou said with a thumbs up.
"Well, duh, I am a succubus after all." Kurumu boasted, "The dream world is my domain, though I'll admit navigating this seal was a little hard, I don't know how Ben made it out quicker than you all did." she said as she tapped her chin. A little hard? Touhou thought, For a second I had almost given up hope of finding a way out of this damnned seal. Yet this girl...and the American? How did he get out, I didn't even realize he was in here! "AAGH!" Kurumu yelled out, "There's no time to talk, everyone come with me! Things might be bad in this dream, but they are even worse in reality! While you guys were knocked out those thugs from the Miu Family came to attack the Won Estate! Ben went over there to help out, who knows how bad it's gotten now, especially since some of those Fairy Tale guys are here too!"
"No..." Tsukune clenched his fists and grit his teeth, "Fairy Tale? Now of all times?"
"Come on!" Kurumu yelled out as she waved her hands to have the trio follow on their carpet, "Let's get the fuck outta here before we become a forgotten memory, LITERALLY!"
New York...
Kokoa, Ruby, and Elsa Bloodstone stood in front of a large warehouse. The number that Kaine had given them called a specialized landline that supposedly belonged to this building. Only one man answered, he sounded gruff and menacing, but upon mentioning Fairy Tale, and Elsa Bloodstone talking on the other line as well, he agreed to a meet up. Kokoa looked at Ruby who just shrugged, but Elsa walked past both of them and pressed a button for a buzzer. "Hey, it's Elsa. Want to let us in? You Know what we're here about." After a few moments there was a clicking sound on the door and Elsa pushed it open. "C'mon gals." Elsa called as she walked ahead of them.
The trio walked through the warehouse and saw all sorts of different instruments of terror, like weird hacksaws, crossbows, guns, swords...stakes. "Um...who did you say this guy was again?" Kokoa asked with a slight gulp, feeling as if she had just walked into a trap.
"The name's Blade." a voice called out. The girls looked up to a catwalk where a fairly tall black man with a flat top haircut stood in combat pants and a tank top. "Kaine said I'd be interested; I didn't think he'd actually be right." Blade said as he hopped over the catwalk and landed on the ground in front of the girls with a loud thud. "So, Fairy Tale is finally making their move?" he asked, and Elsa nodded, "Then we need to see someone so we can get one more piece to our puzzle." he said as he began putting on his gear including a full combat vest and trench coat jacket.
"Pieces? Puzzle?" Kokoa echoed, "What the fuck does that even mean? I already have an idea of people we need to grab and I'm down one of them. Who do you happen to know? What are you forming?"
"Not 'forming', 'reforming'." Blade corrected, "Fairy Tale is making massive moves now, which means this is a world level supernatural threat. And there is only one team that can deal with a situation like this." he turned to Kokoa and and packed a couple of stakes into his belt, "It's time for the Midnight Suns to come back out of the shadows."
Kokoa and Ruby were confused but there was a laugh and a fist pump from Elsa, "I've waited my whole life for this. The Midnight Suns have not been called upon since my father Ulysses Bloodstone was a member at the turn of the 20th century."
To be continued...
A/N: Oh we are finally back to this. God damn, did I hate doing this chapter. If you don't know, nothing really happens for a while and they spend like 10 god damned chapters on this exposition. That may be an exaggeration, but it feels like a massive exposition dump in the middle of what is otherwise a stellar season, but no worries, next chapter should be back to the action and only a little bit of exposition that I may change for a different chapter.
Until then guys, see you later.
