Eventually, she exited the roof she was located (With a bit of trouble) and began her embark home.
During her trip, there was a crowd of people surrounding an alley.
"Another villain attack?" Izuki questioned aloud. "Eh, no point in taking notes; I can't become a hero."
Then suddenly, she heard the explosions. The aftershocks feeling and sounding exactly like Bakugos.
She never ran faster toward something before. She didn't even know why she was running, it wasn't like she could be of much help to the situation. But if it was for Bakugo, she would do anything.
She ran as fast as she could toward to crowd of bystanders. She pushed and shoved towards the front with a long string of "Excuse me," And "I'm sorry."
When she finally reached the front, her breath got lost in her throat and she felt bile making its home there too. She had also felt her heart drop towards her shoes. It was the most heart-wrenching sight: It was Bakugo getting attacked by the sludge monster. The same monster she was attacked by.
He was trying to fight for a breath of air by setting off explosions.
"This is… All my fault," She whimpered.
"Poor thing, he's just a young middle schooler."
"This has been going on for twenty minutes, when are authorities gonna relieve this young boy?"
She gasped. Twenty minutes? She couldn't even deal with it for one minute, let alone twenty!
Before she knew what was going on, her feet took off without her thinking. She had heard people yelling for her to stop, but she didn't listen.
She made eye contact with the monster and suddenly, a bunch of notes popped into her head; items around her lighting up a bright blue.
"Name: Unnamed; Parents abandoned at birth. Quirk: Sludge; By entering someone's body, they can take over their quirk. Weaknesses: Wind, Eyes; Its eyes aren't made of sludge. Therefore, if hit, it will do damage." In Izuki's vision, her backpack began glowing the bright blue. "If I calculate this right…If I throw my backpack… Right now!" She ripped off the bag and threw it, the contents inside scattered. "The math notebook should hit the monster in the right eye." As if right on cue, the math notebook hit the monster in the right eye, making it so Bakugo could free himself to get a breath of fresh air.
He gasped and coughed loudly. "Kiyoko!" He screamed, his expression full of worry for his endearing girlfriend. "You need to get out of here! You could get hurt!"
"I couldn't just stand there watching you die Kacchan! What kind of girlfriend would I be?"
Bakugo's expression softened for a brief moment before the sludge monster covered his mouth again.
"Kacchan!" Izuki screamed, clawing at the sludge, trying to allow Bakugo to breathe again.
"Fear now! For I am here!" A voice confidently said from behind them.
Izuki gasped, whipping her head around. All Might would save him!
"Texas Smash!" All Might yelled while punching the ground. The air kicked up all around them; the sludge monster was knocked away and placed inside a capsulated container for its crimes.
All Might grabs the two middle schools as the wind settles down. They both fell to the group with an uneasy thump.
"Kacchan!" Izuki called, crawling over to him. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I am," He grumbled, flicking her nose. "But you are such a fucking dumbass! You cannot just run straight into danger for my sake!"
"I couldn't just stand there Kacchan. I couldn't just stand there when you looked like you were in so much pain. If that were to do that, then you should break up with me immediately. I'm sorry if I made you feel inferior, but I just had to do something."
Before Bakugo could respond, they were separated by other heroes on site so they could check for injuries on him and ruthlessly scold her for being reckless.
"Thank you for your advice, I'll take it into consideration," Izuki greeted, bowing her head. She then collected the items she threw around and walked towards home, taking the bad day route.
As she was walking home, she heard running footsteps from behind her. She turned around and saw it was Bakugo.
"What are you doing here?" Izuki questioned, looking him up and down gently. "You should still be with the paramedics; you could still be hurt. Go back to the site and I'll see you tomorrow."
"What the hell?" He yelled loudly. "Are you avoiding me now?"
"No I'm not," Izuki confessed. "Today has been the worst day of my life, Kacchan. I would never avoid the only person who makes my day get any better."
"What was your text about?" Bakugo dug out his phone from his pocket, exposing the message. "I saw it right before I got attacked, so I didn't have time to respond."
"It was nothing," Izuki lied. "I just missed you. But you should really get home and rest. You could still be hurt."
"I can walk you home with you. We're practically neighbors."
"That's okay," Izuki dismissed, shaking her head. "I'm sure you're still pretty pissed at me. I don't want to burden you."
"You always want to walk home with me, and you never just send a message and tell me not to worry about it. Especially when it's something mysterious like I need you. What's going on?"
Silence. Izuki only dipped her head down in shame and allowed tears to overcome her vision.
Bakugo came closer, placing a hand on her cheek and lifting her head to make eye contact once more.
"Kiyoko, you can tell me anything. No matter how fucking pissed I am at you."
The tears on Izuki's face finally fell. Bakugo dropped his hand and instead opted for wrapping his arms around her waist.
"What's been going on?" He whispered, sentiment lingering in his tone.
"I can't say!" She burst. "I just want you to be alive and with me!" She cried out, tears pouring out of her eyes.
"Kiyoko, tell me right now. I don't care what happens to me. This is clearly bothering you. So please tell me."
"You don't care if you get murdered, but I sure as heck do," She whimpered into his chest.
"Let me put it this way," Bakugo pulled Izuki out of their embrace, instead they opted for making intense eye contact. "Stop fucking looking down on me!" He shouted and immediately regretted it. Izuki flinched heavily and continued to cry. Bakugo placed her back in his embrace and softened his voice heavily. "I can handle my own damn self and I sure as hell can protect you. So you better tell me what the fuck is bothering you right now."
"Bullies," Izuki confesses.
"Bullies?" Bakugo scoffed. "I'm your only bully. And I stopped a year ago."
"That's what you think," She announces shyly, looking up at him with doe eyes.
He cupped her cheek, stroking her cheek with his thumb. "Are people bullying you behind my back?"
She nodded her head weakly. "Almost the whole school is on it."
"Everyone?" He yells, his hands crackling and almost burning Izuki's face.
She nods her head once more. "It's been going on since we started dating."
"What the fuck are they doing to you?" He snarled.
"Well," Izuki started, staring up at the sky, picturing all the awful things she experienced. "It started with name-calling and pulling of my hair. It wasn't anything I couldn't bear. Then I started dating you, so they upped their game. They would call me harsher names like 'Slut' and use me as their punching dummy, but only if you left. The period could be as short as a bathroom break for their torment to reign. However, one person brought up the fact that they would be in big trouble if I were to ever tell on them to you, so they made it known that if I were to tell, they would gang up and murder you."
"And what about today? What happened today to make it worse than usual?"
"Well, remember when I ran away from you this morning?"
"Yeah. You threw up from running so fast."
"Is what I told you," Izuki confessed. "But that's not the truth."
"What actually happened?"
"They kneed me in the stomach and made me vomit. I just…I just try to keep my happiness, I try to withstand it… for you! But I can't do this anymore!"
"How often do they leave a mark, Kiyoko?"
"I'm their quirk-practicing dummy," Izuki replied. "I test how fatal their quirks are."
"Lift your shirt," Bakugo ordered, backing away from their embrace.
"Kacchan… No. I'm fine. My bruise isn't that bad."
"You said bruise," Bakugo snarled, gripping the hems of her shirt. "That gives me all the more reason to see. "He ripped up her shirt angrily, his eyes widening at what he's witnessed. In the center of her stomach was a giant purple bruise. "You call this not bad?"
"Remember when I broke my arm from a bike riding accident?"
"Don't you dare tell me that was those fucking idiots?"
"This is doable compared to that."
"I'm going to kill them all!" He shouted, angry tears filling his eyes. "Why didn't you tell me? I could've protected you."
"I value your life way more than mine, Kacchan."
"I will murder everyone in that shit school. You're mine to protect."
"I can take it," Izuki pressed, leaning into his embrace once more. "I've been bearing it for this long, I can do it longer."
"What about when I ditched later in the day? What happened then?"
"Well, they didn't really hurt me physically, at least."
"Then what happened?"
"I don't really like repeating the harsh words they said to me, Kacchan."
"What did they say, Izuki?" Bakugo pressed further, annoyed.
"They told me to kill myself and I actually wanted to!" She shouted, tears spilling from her eyes. "That's why I texted you!"
Bakugo's eyes widened. He pressed her further to his chest, resting his head on hers. All the angry feelings he felt towards her melted away.
"I'm sorry, Kiyoko. I'm an awful boyfriend."
"No. You're amazing. You're my reason for living. I think that's an amazing feat for a significant other."
"Thank you, I love you."
"I love you too."
They held each other for a while, staying in their comfortable silence until destiny told them it was time to part.
"Are you sure you want to walk home alone?"
She nodded her head sharply. "Yeah, I just need time to think." Bakugo gave her the side eye. "I'll text you as soon as I'm home," She kissed him on the cheek. "But you have to promise me something."
"Anything," Bakugo breathed.
"Don't tell the bullies that I told you anything. I won't be able to sleep for months if you do."
He smiled a toothy grin. "Sure. I just won't be leaving you alone anytime soon."
00000
Izuki was silently walking home, oddly in an optimistic mood even after the horrific day she's had.
"I am here!" A loud voice suddenly boomed from in front of her.
"All Might?" Izuki questioned, her voice monotone. "What are you doing here? If you're here to scold me, then don't burden yourself. I have been yelled at enough for today."
"That's not why I'm here," All Might confirmed. "I'm here to ask you something important."
"And what's that?"
"You knew how to defeat that sludge monster, didn't you?"
She immediately thought back to the occurrence when she ran towards the monster to save Bakugo.
"I knew how to defeat it?" She asked, tilting her head to the side like a puppy.
"Of course you did. You knew exactly what its weaknesses and quirk were. I heard you. You knew all about it."
"I guess so," Izuki drawled, thinking about the time. "It just all came to me. Like it was second nature."
"Quirk," All Might stated sharply.
"What?"
"That's your quirk. I know you told me you didn't have one. But I know a quirk when I see one."
Izuki froze and her eyes welled with tears. "I… Have a quirk."
"It would be hard to know yourself because it's not something you can physically see, but you knew all about that monster. So… that's your quirk!"
"Wow."
"You know Ragdoll from the Wild Wild Pussycats?"
"Yeah, of course."
"Your quirk is like hers, but more powerful. Congratulations, you got a good quirk."
"Thank you, All Might! You've opened my eyes to my new identity!"
"You're welcome Kiddo. Now, tell me more about that quirk of yours; Now that you're aware of it."
"Well," She attempted to think back to the tragic event that happened less than an hour ago. "I got every single bit of information from him. Like the name, quirk, parents, weak points, and strong points, but I also got everything memorable in his life he's done. Like how he kidnapped three girls and had his way with them and still hasn't gotten caught for it. I also got a bunch of ways to defeat him with what I had around me. Items glows around in my mind and showed instructions of what to do with them."
"What's it going to be called?"
"Hmmm," Izuki thought for a moment before deciding on, "Instructions."
"A very fitting name, Kiddo. Now, how would you like a second quirk?"
"Huh?" Izuki questioned, and her nose scrunched up in confusion.
"Do you want a physical quirk to go with your mental one?"
"All Might, I'm not understanding."
He sighs, "I have a quirk that can pass on a very special quirk to someone deemed worthy."
"So… You have two quirks?"
"No, I only have one. I've avoided the question about my quirk to the public because if word got out, there would be chaos everywhere. My quirk is called One for All. It's passed on from person to person. The person who has One for All can pass it on when they find a person they think is worthy. And to be honest, you seem pretty worthy to me. If we build up your body and that quirk of yours, you could become a fine hero. Little girl, please take my quirk. I believe you can become an amazing hero."
Izuki continued to cry; Somehow, the worst day of her life just turned into the best.
"Yes, I will take your quirk."
"I didn't hear you. Can you say it louder?"
"I want to be a hero!" She screamed, a bright smile on her face.
"Fantastic."
