Chapter 49
Spring 2002
Waking up between Theo and Draco would never get old, she thought. Even if they all lived to be two hundred, she'd never get tired of the feeling of being with them like this, the soft comfort, the easy connection, Draco's fingertips on her hip, Theo's breath playing across her skin as they both slept on. Their bodies were simply exhausted from their time in prison, their ill health, the torture from the Aurors that Hermione planned to pay back in kind.
She planned to make everyone who'd hurt them suffer in ways that they hadn't even conceived of.
Hermione was nothing if not vindictive and extremely motivated to find creative ways to make all of the bastards suffer.
She had tailored her plans to destroy everything that mattered to those unlucky wizards and witches who had crossed her.
Harry cared most about having a family to replace the one he'd lost and the sanctity of his mind since he was free of the horcrux.
Ron cared about his money and prestige.
Dean cared about his reputation in the wizarding world as a Muggleborn, an Auror and a hero.
Kingsley cared about power.
The Wizengamot cared about control.
The wizarding world cared about its safety.
She'd take all of it from them before she was done and their blood watered the future she planned to build from the ashes of the world that she was going to destroy.
Hermione was only sorry that she hadn't had the opportunity to tell Lucius and Thoros if they had any grandchildren that they'd be from her womb. That might have killed Lucius on the spot. Unfortunately it simply hadn't been worth the risk, it had been very tempting though.
She ought to get up and make them breakfast and get their medications for today, but Hermione decided that she could just cuddle them for a bit longer and maybe get a few more hours of sleep. Last night had been the first night in a long time with no nightmares or disturbing dreams. A little more rest couldn't hurt her.
She nuzzled into Draco's chest and pulled Theo in a little closer, letting their heartbeats and the bond settle her back into slumber.
Things were going to get very busy for her soon. She could use all the sleep she could get. And so could her wizards. Healing took time.
