Chapter 1: Jackal's Vessel

-Musatafu, Japan-

In one of the many playgrounds throughout the Japanese city of Musatafu, a lone green haired little boy was defending another kid from three bullies. One was a pudgy boy with wings, another was lanky and had stretchy fingers and the last was a pomeranian blonde little boy with red eyes that made explosions.

All of them looked like they were either four or five years old, generally.

"Kacchan, stop it! Can't you see you're hurting him?!" The green haired boy whined in dismay.

"So what?" The blonde scoffed, pounding a hand into his open palm and making an explosion. "Without a quirk, you can't do anything… Deku." He added with a sneer before she and her lackeys charged. Before they could get close however, another boy got between them.

The boy had dark skin that would typically come from living near the Mediterranean or middle east, brown eyes and black hair. He wore a green shirt, blue shorts and a pair of white sneakers. He looked to be around four or five years old like them.

"Hold it!" He barked, forcing them to stop. "What in the world is going through your heads for you to attack other kids like this?!" He demanded with a glare.

"Both of those losers are weak. One has a weak quirk and the other is quirkless." The pomeranian haired little boy shot back. "I'm just showing them their place in the world." He added.

"You're disgusting." The new boy told him with a look of disgust. "People like you usually end up as villains in the future." He added, causing the boy to growl angrily.

Oddly enough, he sounded like an actual Pomeranian dog right now.

"Just who do you think you are?! And what do you know about being a hero?" The boy, Katsuki Bakugo, growled–explosions sparking in his palms.

"My name is Bayek Yugi of Cairo, son of the current number one Egyptian Hero, Magi." The boy retorted. "As for what I know about being a hero? Clearly more than you." He added.

"THAT'S IT!" Katsuki yelled before she charged at him with the intent of blowing him up.

Instead of cowering, Bayek raised his arms at them.

"I think not." Bayek said before gauze wrappings shot out of his wrists and wrapped around the three kids' shoulders, allowing the Egyptian boy to swing them around before letting them go roll along the ground before stopping. Katsuki let out a growl as he got up and glared at him.

"I'll get you for that next time!" He growled before running off, the other two bullies quickly following suit.

"I seriously doubt that." Bayek said, unperturbed before he looked at an awed Izuku. "You okay?" He asked, holding a hand out to her as his gauze wrappings receded back into his skin.

"Uh-um… yeah." The girl nodded as she and the other boy got up, the latter running off. "Who… Who are you?" She asked.

"My name is Bayek. Bayek Yugi. I'm here visiting my grandparents on my father's side from Cairo." He explained.

"Oh! Um, okay." The viridian haired boy blinked. "Um, my name's Izuku Midoriya, by the way." He added, looking a bit shy.

"Nice to meet you Izuku." The Egyptian boy smiled as he gave his new friend a hug, causing him to let out a surprised squeak.

"Okay, I guess we're friends now…!" He said awkwardly.

"I have to say though, Japan seems like it's pretty far behind in terms of how their citizens are treated." The son of Magi noted. "Not to mention how people aren't allowed to use their quirks, even for self defense." He added. "In Egypt, that kind of over regulation is unheard of."

"Is it really that different?" Izuku asked curiously as the two sat on a bench.

"Yep." Bayek nodded in reply. "The Egyptian government does allow quirk usage in public, but using it for crimes is an obvious nope. Villains over there that do try to attack often meet some resistance from the civilians defending themselves." He added.

"B-But they risk getting hurt like that!" The viridian haired boy gasped.

"Between that and the threat of possible death, we'll take getting injured every time if we can help it." Bayek told him.

This wasn't an exaggeration. The laws of Egypt were made so that people could use their quirks for basic things like getting to places, setting up things and the like. Civilians could even use their quirks to defend in the event of a villain attack, extinguish fires, move destroyed vehicles and so on.

However, this was also designed to help the Egyptian government find potential heroes and even keep their people's wits sharp. They don't actively instigate villain attacks, though; that was too far in their view.

Not to mention it also helped the heroes of the country not become swamped with mountains of issues to deal with. They simply wished to care for their people like a responsible government.

"Wow. Your home's so different from mine!" Izuki gasped. "And is that right? You're the son of the Number one Egyptian Hero Magi?" He asked.

"Yes. Masato Yugi, my father. He moved to Egypt and married my mother a few years later." Bayek nodded. "I've been trying to live up to his example."

"That's so cool! I'm the same way with my favorite hero, All Might!" The boy exclaimed, eyes sparkling in excitement.

"All Might really is one of Japan's finest, I won't lie." Bayek chuckled. It was hard to be in Japan and not hear something related to the nation's No. 1 Hero and Symbol of Peace. The boy could barely recall the number of times he's seen something about the guy so far.

"Yeah, he's awesome!" The green haired boy nodded. "What about your quirk? What's it called?" He asked.

"I call it 'Anubis.' It gives me the powers of the Egyptian God of Embalming, Anubis." Bayek explained simply. "Gauze wrappings, the scales, everything." He added.

"THAT'S SO AMAZING!" Izuku yelled with a giant smile and stars in his eyes.

"Well, I suppose it is, yeah." The boy chuckled modestly, Izuku still staring at him intently.

-Cairo, Egypt, eleven years later-

Eleven years have passed since that day. Bayek was now fifteen and he had really grown well. He looked very handsome for someone his age with shoulder length black hair tied up in a wolf tail, a muscular build that looked so be a mix of a swimmer's and a runner. He stood at a reasonable height of 6'0" as well.

He wore a short sleeved black shirt that showed off his arms (which were covered in hieroglyphic tattoos), a pair of blue denim shorts and a pair of brown sandals.

Currently, he was on a bus heading to a testing site that had been labeled the "Valley of the Kings" after the collection of tombs near Thebes. It was there that he was going to be tested in his ability to fight, and be a hero of Egypt.

As he disembarked from the bus, he approached the testing area, but stopped soon after when he saw two familiar figures.

One was his father, the hero Magi (now retired) and the current number one Egyptian Hero: Salaam.

"Hello father, Salaam." The teen said in a respectful tone. Salaam was dressed like a classic Pharaoh, and his quirk, Papyrus, made him actually look like a 2D hieroglyph.

His father, meanwhile, smiled at his son. He was in his fifties, yet still looked surprisingly like he was in his thirties. He had long black hair that reached his shoulder blades, tan skin that was natural for natives of Egypt and a muscular build from when he was still an active hero. He wore a short sleeve black shirt and matching jeans along with a pair of black boots.

The name of his quirk? Galaxy, which gives him a celestial appearance reminiscent of the night sky. This was achieved by absorbing sun and moonlight. It also made him incredibly strong and nigh unbeatable on top of granting him energy blasts and flight, which helped him become the No. 1 Hero of his time.

"Welcome to the Valley of the Kings, young Bayek." Salaam said with a smile and a nod.

"Glad to be here." The boy nodded.

"Well I have some important news to tell you." Masato explained as he turned to his son. "Instead of taking the entrance exam to Duwat, you'll be speaking with the Principal of UA High in Japan, Nezu." He continued.

"He's here?" Bayek blinked in surprise.

"Yes. He's read your file, and has taken interest in you." Salaam nodded in reply. "So, he's asked your father and I to let you accept his invitation to a spot in the Hero Course entrance exams." He continued.

"The man's a good judge of character, believe me." Masato nodded.

"Guess we shouldn't keep him waiting, then." His son nodded.

"Quite." Salaam agreed.

The trio proceeded to walk through several corridors after getting beyond reception, going up to the third floor where the meeting rooms were. After arriving at the room Nezu was in, Bayek went inside and immediately spotted the little chimera dean of UA.

"Oh, hello." Nezu nodded. "You must be young Bayek." He noted. "You look almost like the spitting image of your father." He mused, hopping down from his seat and holding out a paw to the boy.

"You'd be surprised how common that is for me to get." Bayek chuckled as he shook Nezu's paw. "So, what's this about you taking interest in me after seeing my file?" He asked as the two sat down.

"Well I always had an interest in you given your lineage, especially since I was your father's homeroom teacher." The chimera explained. "It seems only natural that you go to his alma mater." He added.

"Fair enough." The Egyptian teen shrugged. "I should consider it good fortune that I know enough Japanese to qualify as bilingual." He mused.

"You are half Japanese so I would surely hope so." Nezu nodded.

"Right…" Bayek nodded. "Well, I should be able to find a place to stay pretty easy: My grandparents own a condo complex in Mustatafu City." He added.

"That does make things easier, you're right." Nezu nodded. "I suppose this means I'll see you at UA." He noted.

"Oh yeah. I'll be in Japan alright." The boy nodded in confirmation.

(Timeskip)

Bayek sighed as he arrived at his apartment in Musatafu, which was a fairly standard one near the apartment complex his grandparents owned.

"At least I'm a hop and a skip from UA by train." He mused.

"… Bayek?" A voice questioned beside him.

Blinking, Bayek turned and was surprised to see a familiar mop of green hair walking up to him.

"Izuku? Is that you?" The Egyptian blinked.

Beat…

"BUDDY!" The two boys exclaimed as they hugged each other after a beat had passed.

"What are you doing back in Japan?! I figured you'd be busy with your hero studies in Egypt!" Izuku questioned as they stopped hugging.

"No! I'm actually going to be entering UA, the principal's letting me go there." His friend told him.

"Seriously?!" Izuku gasped. "Oh man, I hope we're in the same class…!" He added hopefully.

"I wouldn't count your pheasants before they hatch, Izuku." Bayek told him.

"I know, but one can hope." The viridian haired boy sighed.

"... Have you been working out?" Bayek asked after a moment, spotting the muscles his friend was sporting.

"Uh, yeah. I've been training for the past seven months." The boy nodded. "Cleaning up Dagoba Beach." He amended.

"... On your own?" The Egyptian-Japanese boy blinked, getting a nod in return. "That's kinda extreme." He commented.

"The results are good, though." Izuku shrugged.

"Huh…" The teen nodded. "On another note: Has a certain pomeranian grenade behaved himself?" Bayek questioned, popping his neck.

"… Not really." Izuku sighed. "Before we graduated from middle school, he told me that if I tried to enter UA, he'd kill me. And that if I wanted to be a hero, I should pray to have a quirk in my next life—and to take a swan dive off the roof of the school." He explained.

"Oh really?" Bayek growled. "Looks like I need to teach him a lesson… Again." He added.

Back when they were younger and he was still in Japan, Bayek would routinely defend Izuku from Katsuki and show up the pomeranian blonde whenever he got up to his usual shit. It looked like the explosion happy teen thought those times were at an end when he left Japan and went back to Egypt.

If what Izuku said was true (and it more than likely was), it sounded like Katsuki got even worse as he grew up. What an annoyance.

"Don't, you'll just make him angrier." Izuku sighed.

"... If he gets out of hand, I'm stepping in." Bayek relented. "We both know that he can get out of hand." He added.

(Timeskip)

It was three months later, and Bayek locked his front door so he could go to the UA grounds to sit for the transfer exam, but as he made his ways downstairs, he noticed someone beside him.

It was a girl around his age.

She was a young girl of average height with surprisingly large, upturned, dusky green eyes, long lower eyelashes, and notably long and pointed teeth.

Her hair was a dark moss green, collectively reaching just below her shoulders aside from a short clump that hangs in the center of her forehead, and it grew wavier and thinner as well, the lower it went, the wavier and thinner it got.

She was dressed in the girl's uniform for a school he didn't know the name of, wearing green stockings and a pair of sneakers.

"Come on, Itsuka! Hurry up! We're gonna be late!" The girl called to someone at the other side of the door, knocking on it.

"I'm trying! Don't rush me, Setsuna!" Another voice called from inside the apartment.

"Hey, are you heading to UA?" He asked, getting her attention.

"Yeah, my best friend and I are going to be entering the UA entrance exam toda–Whoa." The green haired girl nodded as she turned to face him, stopping mid sentence when she saw him. "Well hell-o gorgeous." She said, a pleased grin on her face.

"Charmed." Bayek chuckled in slight amusement, noting that she seemed like an amorous person. "I'm Bayek Yugi. I just got here from Egypt a few months ago. And you are?" He asked, giving his name.

"Setsuna Tokage." The green haired girl replied. "And you're from Egypt? Well, that would certainly explain that perfect bronze skin of yours." She whistled, shamelessly checking him out.

"Yeah. I was given a transfer request by Principal Nezu. I just need to pass the practical exam." The boy nodded, unphased by her current action.

His ex-girlfriend was actually pretty similar. More on her at a different time.

"Oh. I'm actually getting in based on recommendations." Setsuna hummed.

"You got in through recommendations? What kind of quirk do you even have?" Bayek questioned with a raised eyebrow.

This was when he suddenly felt a hand tap him on the shoulder, causing him to turn and see a disembodied hand floating next to him—and Setsuna holding up its arm.

"I can literally pull myself apart and pull myself back together. I call my quirk Lizard Tail Splitter." The girl grinned. "What about you?" She asked.

Bayek merely smirked before summoning a pair of ornate scales. One had a feather while the other was empty.

"My quirk is named after the jackal headed god, Anubis. My powers are based on him." Bayek explained. "I can use these scales as a lie detector." He added. "Those weighed down by sin will be crushed by their misdeeds by gravity increasing on them." He continued. "There are several others, but that's the main one." He told her.

"Man, you must have a lot if you have a quirk that's in line with a deity." Setsuna blinked.

It was at that moment the door opened and a ginger haired girl with fair skin walked out. She had blue-green eyes and Bayek noted she was wearing the same uniform Setsuna was.

"Sorry I'm–... Did you make a new friend?" The girl started to ask before blinking upon noticing Bayek.

"Oh, yeah. Kendo, this is Bayek." Setsuna nodded.

"Hey." The boy nodded.

"Hi." Itsuka nodded. "Hm, haven't met an Egyptian before." She mused, inspecting him a bit.

"I'm half Japanese, which helps." Bayek shrugged, dispelling his scales, much to the ginger's surprise.

"Uh… Were those scales a part of your quirk?" She asked.

"Yeah, but we should probably get moving to UA before we miss the train." The boy pointed out, causing the girls to remember what they had to do today.

"Shit!" The girls exclaimed as they ran past him, quite literally spinning him like a top in the process.

"Wha-a-a-a-! Hey, wait up!" He called after he managed to stop himself from spinning.

(Later)

After catching a train ride, the three teens were able to arrive at UA on time for the exams. They had gotten separated by their seating numbers—and Setsuna going off to take the recommendation exam—though, but Bayek had a feeling he'd meet at least one of them in the practical.

As he went to said area, he was able to tell that he was correct. One of the people was Itsuka… and another was Katsuki Bakugo.

'Oh great… I was wondering why I smelled arrogance on the bus…' Bayek thought with a frown.

Seconds later though, the doors opened to the exam area, and the kids all poured in.

Bayek ran in and reached at either side of his waist—before two large golden Khopesh swords materialized out of thin air as his hands glowed a black gold.

"Let's go!" He exclaimed with a grin, slicing apart the first robot that crossed his path.

Though as he did, he saw just how much raw combat ability Katsuki had as he just kept taking down the robots like an ace.

Doing a rolling flip and slicing a three pointer in half, he soon found himself surrounded by the bots, and soon found himself back to back with Itsuka, whose hands were now large.

"Kendo, good to see you." The boy nodded.

"You too, Yugi. Ready to dance?" She asked, smirking at the robots around them.

"One sec." The boy replied as he put his swords away and his hands grew a darker black gold. "You might want to stay close." He continued. "Now: Darkness Come, Myrkr!" He called, clapping his hands—causing the entire testing ground to be shrouded in a pitch black sandstorm.

"What the–?! What is this?!" Itsuka gasped in shock, unable to see much of… Anything. The only thing she could see was the glowing red lights of the robots' optics.

"A little something to help us out. Take out the robots while they're blinded!" Bayek exclaimed, seeing things perfectly as he went to work.

The girl nodded as she went about slamming her hands and fists into the robots—causing their metal bodies to crumple like wet tissue paper.

Bayek, meanwhile, used his khopesh blades to cut them apart like a hot knife through soft butter.

And in the sandstorm…

"I CAN'T SEE SHIT! WHO'S THE FUCKING EXTRA BEHIND THIS?!" Katsuki yelled in irritation.

'Suck it, asshole.' Bayek thought with a smirk.

(Elsewhere)

Meanwhile in the observatory, the teachers were watching the exams unfold.

"Hm, looks like we have a capable batch this year." The voice of Snipe, a western cowboy themed hero, noted.

"Indeed. Certainly looks like this batch is a serious pick." Midnight nodded as Bayek's sandstorm dissipated.

"Yeah. Some use cunning to get to what they're after." Vlad King commented, looking at another applicant.

"Indeed." Nezu nodded.

(Elsewhere)

Back with Bayek, the boy was now using his swords and his other powers to continue to strike down more than a few robots in his path.

"Is this even supposed to be a challenge?" He sighed, cutting down a three pointer. "Though perhaps the challenge is in gathering the points and not the actual combat…" He hummed thoughtfully.

After he cut down a one pointer, the ground started to shake. As the teen looked around, he saw other applicants running away from something, screaming in fear.

"What's going…?" He questioned as she turned around and saw that there was a large, no, massive robot rolling towards them. "Oh fuck me…! I can't fight that!" He gasped as he started running before…

"Damn it, of all the times to get stuck under some rubble!" The voice of Itsuka cursed, causing Bayek to whirl around and see that the ginger was pinned under some rubble.

"Kendo!" The boy gasped.

The boy had always felt like his powers were just starting to reveal themselves. Always finding new aspects or applications, and was soon able to recognize the signs of a new manifestation.

This was one such occasion.

First, his body began to glow the same black gold as it always did, and then…

BOOM!

The light exploded outward, blinding anyone close by. When it receded, standing as tall as the Zero Pointer… Was Anubis. It was the top half of the Jackal god's body. And in addition to having black marble, he was also clad in golden Egyptian armor on his torso.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHHH!" He roared, leveling his gaze on the Zero Pointer.

The roar had caused all the applicants in the testing area to stop and look at him in shock. Even Katsuki, who was taking out the smaller robots, was shocked by the sudden appearance of the Egyptian mythological figure.

"What the fuck…?" He uttered with wide eyes.

Drawing the avatar's arms back, Bayek used it to punch the Zero Pointer to allow Kendo a chance to flee, before the titanic constructs locked fists and started pushing against each other.

(Elsewhere)

-Observation Room-

"WHAT THE HELL?!" Midnight yelled in shock, not expecting Anubis to appear.

"Is it just me, or does this remind you of something?" Snipe questioned, seemingly recalling a certain manga that had characters with similar avatars, but couldn't recall the name.

"This is definitely an unexpected turn of events." All Might blinked in surprise before he remembered Bayek's face. "Wait, is he the son of Magi?" He asked.

"That he is, and it looks like he's following in his father's footsteps when it comes to cosmology." Nezu confirmed with a nod.

(Elsewhere)

Back with Bayek, he made his avatar shove the Zero Pointer back, causing it to grip two fake buildings to keep from falling over. Not wasting a moment, the construct made a khopesh sword and slashed one of the robot's arms off.

The construct then stabbed the robot through the face, causing it to explode and destroying it in one move.

After that, the avatar slowly fell apart in motes of black-gold light, leaving Bayek standing in its place… Before he collapsed, unconscious. That stunt had taken a lot out of him.

(Later)

Two hours later Bayek groaned as he woke up in what he guessed was the infirmary. Looking to the side, he saw Itsuka reading a book.

"Kendo? What're you doing here?" He questioned as he sat up.

"Oh, you're awake." The ginger blinked as she put a bookmark where she was reading and closed her book. "I was waiting for you to wake up after your Anubis stunt. Thanks for the save back there." She smiled.

"You're welcome." Bayek sighed as he got up. "We better get home. It's getting late." He mused.

"Yeah, we should." Itsuka nodded as she helped him out of bed. "Think we'll have the same class together?" She wondered.

"No idea, but it'll be nice if we do." The Egyptian shrugged.

(Later)

Bayek sighed as he left the infirmary, making his way home. But as he kept walking out of the school–he couldn't help but recall how while he helped as many students as possible, kids like Katsuki didn't–In fact, none of the other students were. Not like how it was in Egypt.

"Looks like the Dog eat Dog mentality is worse here than I thought…" Bayek hummed to himself.

"What do you mean?" A new voice asked, causing the boy to turn and see a gaunt looking man with blonde hair and blue eyes dressed in a suit walking in.

"The regulations and laws as well as the hero industry in general don't allow for helping each other, civilians and heroes alike." The boy stated. "The heroes here, they only care about standing on top of each other for popularity, money and fame. It's…" He sighed, deflating. "So different from my home." He added.

"Oh, you must be that transfer student from Egypt." The man noted, taking a seat next to him. "I'm Toshinori Yagi, by the way." He added. "Your father was one of my underclassmen."

"He was?" Bayek blinked.

"Mmm hmm. I was quite the hero back in my younger days." The man replied, patting his side. "But due to an injury to my lungs and a most recent stomach transplant, I was forced to retire. I'm only now starting to recover." He added.

"Ouch." The boy winced. That couldn't have been a pleasant thing.

"It wasn't pleasant, but at least I can put on some weight again." The man shrugged.

"Silver linings are often rather slim." The Bayek nodded.

"True." Toshinori replied as he slowly got up, his stomach grumbling in obvious protest. "You had lunch yet?" The hero questioned.

"Nope. I'm actually a bit hungry after the written exam." Bayek shrugged before he got up, and the two of them left the building together.

(Later)

Bayek sighed as he finally got back to his apartment. Needless to say, he enjoyed getting to know Toshinori Yagi, he seemed like a really good guy. He even helped the man come up with ideas for regaining his lost weight.

As he approached his door, he noticed a familiar green haired girl walked out of the door next to him.

"Oh, hey Bayek. Did you just get back?" Setsuna questioned as she exited Kendo's apartment.

"Yeah. Had one hell of an exam." Bayek nodded in reply.

"I heard." The Lizard girl nodded. "Kendo just told me. How long have you been able to use your own Susanoo?" She questioned.

"I didn't even know I could do that before it happened." The Egyptian-Japanese boy shrugged in reply. "My powers have been revealing themselves gradually over the years, and my stunt in the exams was another moment like that." He added.

"Huh, cool." The girl nodded.

"... You wanna come inside? I got plenty of room." Bayek questioned.

"Sure, since I'm here." Setsuna shrugged as Bayek opened his apartment door and let her in. "Damn, this is your pad? Swanky–Not bad for a student's salary." She hummed.

Setsuna Tokage, according to Kendo, was apparently into Gyaru/gal culture in middle school, and apparently, she still was.

"You got any preferences on drinks, Setsuna?" The boy asked.

"I'll take some Brazilian lemonade if you have it. Barring that, orange juice will do." The verdette replied.

"One moment." Bayek nodded as he went into the kitchen and pulled out a blender and cut six limes (for two people) before putting them in a blender with some cold water. When he liquified them, he poured the result through a strainer to get the undesirable elements out before the liquid went back into the blender.

Then he poured some sweet and condensed milk into it and put in a handful of ice before blending the mixture. After that, he poured some into the glasses and put in a tablespoon of sugar for each, stirring both with a spoon to make sure they were well mixed.

"Oddly enough, I actually make this during the warmer months." Bayek mused as he finished stirring the glasses. "I started making it for my parents and grandparents after I tried it for the first time during a family trip to Rio." He hummed, handing Setsuna a glass.

"Shut. Up!" Setsuna gasped as she took her glass. "You guys went to Rio?!" She exclaimed.

"Yep. It was a pretty fun time–especially during Carnival." The Egyptian boy nodded with a smile as he recalled the times he had in Rio. "I even managed to go gliding a few times. I never felt as free as I did then." He sighed in bliss, the experience clearly having left a mark on him.

"Whoa!" The lizard girl gasped in surprise, before she took her glass of lemonade, went over to Bayek, and took out her phone. It had a Jurassic Park case on it and a pteranodon phone chain on it. "Smile!" She grinned as she hugged him in close for a selfie.

Bayek did so and held up a peace sign as Setsuna took the photo.

"So, where do you think you'll end up in UA?" She asked, putting her phone away.

"As long as it's the hero course after my display in the exams, I don't care." The Egyptian boy shrugged.

"Yeah… But…" The girl muttered as she sipped her drink. "I wouldn't mind us being in the same class…" She murmured with a noticeable blush.

"What was that?" Bayek asked, not quite catching what she said as he took a sip of his drink.

This caused Setsuna to blush even more.

"I said I wouldn't mind us being in the same class, dummy." She repeated, the word 'dummy' bonking him on the head.

"Oh…" The Egyptian boy blinked as he rubbed his head. "Well, I certainly won't say no to having you around, either." He shrugged. "In fact, you seem like my type." He added.

"... Eh?!" Setsuna gasped as she turned to face him–her jaw unintentionally dropping to the table.

Bayek laughed a bit before he put her jaw back in its proper place.

"Yeah, you coincidentally have a demeanor similar to my ex-girlfriend. You actually have her shameless attitude, too." He told her. "That's all you're getting out of me for now, though." He added.

"Ex-girlfriend?" The lizard girl questioned. "What happened?" She asked.

"... I don't feel like rehashing the full story, but the short version is: Life forced us to break up. Circumstances we couldn't help." Bayek sighed in reply. "The only silver lining is that we were on good terms." He added.

Setsuna let the topic drop, seeing that it was a sensitive subject.

"I see." The girl nodded before she hugged his arm. "I suppose it's pretty good luck you met me, eh?" She purred, nudging him.

"Heh. Yeah, I guess so." The boy chuckled, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

"... So your dad's obviously where you get your Japanese blood from. But what about your mom? What's she like?" The girl asked. "And you mentioned grandparents, they your dad's?" She asked.

"Yep. They own this apartment complex, so getting me one wasn't a problem." The boy nodded.

"Seriously?" Setsuna gasped. "Lucky…" She muttered.

"It pays to have family in positions like that." Bayek shrugged. "Anything in particular I should know about you?" He asked.

"Well, not really, but I do happen to really like dinosaurs." The girl replied.

"Looks like I know what to take you to the theater to watch if we get that far." The boy quipped with a chuckle.

(Timeskip)

A week later, Bayek was just casually watching some news feeds about what was going on when his doorbell rang.

"Hm?" He hummed as he got up and answered the door, finding a mailman standing there.

"This is for you." He said, holding out a letter with the UA logo on it.

"Ah, thank you." Bayek nodded as he accepted the letter before he went to his couch and opened it, finding a hologram projector. 'The fuck…?' He thought with a raised eyebrow before he activated it, and in the projection was…

"Booyah! I am here as a projection now!" The mountain of a man only known as All Might exclaimed as he appeared as a hologram.

"What the..?" The teen uttered with a blink as he looked at the projection, not expecting All Might himself of all people to be on it.

"Greetings young Bayek, I'm so glad you'll be joining us for this year of UA. It's been a pleasure going over your exam results with the principal. I'm expecting great things from you." The man explained.

'So he was shown my practical performance, I suppose. That would be mandatory for him to evaluate me, I suppose.' Bayek mused.

"You see, there's something that UA looks for in our students, and you have that quality of helping everyone in need of it. Which is why UA integrated the Rescue Point system." The mountain of a man explained before a holographic scoreboard appeared. "Bayek Yugi, you have scored 85 villain points and 75 rescue points for a total of 160 points! This score is more than high enough to earn you your place in UA's hero course! This is your Hero Academia!" He finished before the recording ended.

Bayek sat there with a stunned look on his face before he let out a bark of laughter.

"I knew there was no way for me to not get into the hero course!" He grinned before he noticed something. One of the many things his father taught him was how to be observant, and look out for anything that may connect to one another.

All Might and Toshinori seemed to share the same exact shade of blonde hair and even the same eyes. The gears in his head turned as the dots slowly started to connect. When they did…

"Toshinori is All Might?!" The pseudo avatar gasped. He thought he was retired! Just what was going on?!

Then he had a thought: Toshinori's injury. That must have been it. He's just playing a double life so that he can keep up his identity while taking it easy so he can recover behind the scenes

'If the villains of Japan found out about this, they'd try and take him out so they can cause some chaos.' Bayek thought with a frown. 'I'll confront him about this, but whether it's true or false, I'm keeping this to myself. No reason to give those psychos any ammo.' He added.

ThermalsniperN7: Okay, we decided to rewrite this after reevaluating things. It's single pairings only now, and Bayek's quirk has been whittled down to just Anubis.

Dragon Emperor0: Yeah, and I think this simpler story fits much better than how things were before. A simple meal, but a well made one. That's typically the best you can ask for, really.

ThermalsniperN7: Exactly. Anyway, before you ask about the Naruto reference that is Bayek's Anubis construct, that's intentional. Why not make it in other forms? But yeah, Bayek has powers based on everything that Anubis does with a few extras, like the khopesh swords.

Dragon Emperor0: Some of these extras are references to other games with references to Egypt and Anubis, like Assassin's Creed: Origins and God of War's Valhalla DLC. Those all fit the theme, so we're counting them as possible abilities Bayek can use. Additionally, the Anubis construct appearance wise looks like Origins' Anubis.

ThermalsniperN7: It looked like it was suited to the role, so we decided; 'why not?' and here we are. Also, the ships here are: Bayek x Setsuna, Izuku x Ochako, and Alexios x Himiko. No changes will be made to this.

Dragon Emperor0: Yeah. So don't ask. Anyway, have a good day and see you next time.
