Since I'm attempting to post a chapter every day, here's the next. The reveal should be in the next chapter unless I find a way to annoy people and put it off longer.

Themugglepadme24: Yes, Clint with wings would have been hilarious, XD. Also, I can just imagine him complaining about that.

Vanvi: I'm glad you enjoyed my stupid little joke, :)

VeronicaChase: XD. That's hilarious, you're only four years off, lol. I actually put my grade on purpose, I was curious how old people thought I was.

Mikatamo: Yes, in the actual movies, I know Clint and Natasha aren't together, but this is a fanfic, so I wanted to put it that way.

Leoms: BTW, it was the same for me when I downloaded the app. Isn't it so weird to use? It kept messing up the font on my ipad.

Anyways, thanks to all for reading, favoriting or following this chaotic story!

Also, the name Winter makes me think of, like a little girl or something. It also reminds me of Winter from The Wings of Fire series, and I'm not sure which is more disturbing.

Also, a warning in advance, I'm awful at reveals. Mainly because I feel like its gonna be too cringy or stupid. So bear with me next chapter.

Steve was surprised and relieved that he'd managed to calm down Winter, though he was surprised that his method had worked. Especially when he touched Winter's neck, he had been half expecting The Assassin to break his arm or something.

But, it was getting to the point that Steve was getting an odd feeling, he just knew he used to know Winter, somehow. And he felt like he was missing something glaringly obvious. Like someone was shoving the truth straight into his face and he was just blindly ignoring it.

He was brought back to attention by the feeling of Winter shifting a little.

He turned his head to see that Winter had propped himself up on an elbow, instead of just laying his head on the couch.

Steve looked at Winter questioningly, The Assassin's icy blue eyes were focused on Tony.

"Wait, people can fly these days?" Winter asked, sounding disbelieving. Steve understood Winter's disbelief, after all, if you told him when he was a kid that people would be flying with robotic wings in the future, he wouldn't have believed them either.

Even though Winter wasn't a kid, the point still stood.

Tony snickered. "Welcome to modern day, Terminator." This sentence earned the billionaire a dry glare from Winter, who turned his attention back to the screen.

Steve shifted a little, resting his arms across Winter's legs. He knew that his familiarity with The Assassin was confusing The Avengers, he'd been aware of Clint staring a lot.

He turned his attention back to the screen, not wanting to have to think about anything. Including Hydra.

[after their meeting is over Sitwell walks out of the building with Senator Stern]

Senator Stern: Listen, I gotta fly home tonight, cause uh...I got some constituency problem, and I gotta press the flesh.

"Oh, ew." Tony groaned, and Steve watched as the man child hid his face in his hands. Steve rolled his eyes, Tony was such a man child at times.

Even though Steve couldn't really disagree with the billionaire at the moment. He glanced over at Winter to see that The Assassin had also hid his face. Great. Just what Steve needed another person with a similar personality to Tony. Not that he really minded when it came to Winter, but still.

Jasper Sitwell: Any constituent in particular, Mr. Senator?

Senator Stern: Uh...no, not really. Twenty-three, kind of hot. Real hot. You know, wants to be a reporter, I think. I don't know, who listens at that point?

"So… he's a man-whore?" Winter asked innocently, causing Steve to choke on nothing and Clint and Tony to burst out in laughter.

It was mainly because of how Winter phrased it, but also because of the innocent tone of The Assassin's voice.

Winter looked confused at The Avengers reaction to his sentence. "What? I'm just asking a question." He stated, looking disgruntled. Steve snickered softly at that, shaking his head.

Jasper Sitwell: Doesn't sound much of a problem to me.

Tony looked like he was about to comment, but Steve held up a hand. "You have no right to talk." He said firmly, after all, he had read about Tony's past. He knew that The Iron Man had no right to call someone a whore. He shuddered, remembering what he'd read about the man.

Tony pouted at him like any mature adult would, Winter blinked, obviously not understanding. Good, it was better that Winter didn't know.

Senator Stern: Really? Cause she's killing my back. Look, this isn't the place to talk about it. [he touches Sitwell's pin on his jacket] This is a nice pin.

Jasper Sitwell: Thank you.

Senator Stern: Come here. [they embrace and as they do Stern whispers to Sitwell] Hail, HYDRA.

Steve glared at the scene, and Winter had tensed up at the phrase. Steve really did hate Hydra, he couldn't really think of anything he hated more than it. Hydra was like a plague, it affected everyone it touched. Glancing at Winter just made him hate Hydra.

Steve believed in second chances, but anyone who had helped with The Winter Soldier program deserved death.

[as Stern steps away he touches his back] See, it's right there...

Jasper Sitwell: I just saw that, yeah.

Senator Stern: Should I get it checked?

Jasper Sitwell: I think you should. [Stern walks away] [Sitwell gets a call from Pierce, Sitwell turns to his men] I need a minute. Bring the car around. [his men leave and Sitwell answers the phone] Yes, sir?

Sam Wilson: Agent Sitwell, how was lunch? I hear the crab cakes here are delicious.

Steve couldn't help the feeling of deep satisfaction at pulling one on Hydra. He was also very interested in this Sam person, he sounded like he'd be a good friend. Tony was laughing at Sam's words, or lines? Steve was starting to wonder if his future was literally just an action movie or something.

Jasper Sitwell: Who is this?

Sam Wilson: The good looking guy in the sunglasses,

your ten o'clock.

"Wow." Clint snickered, earning a sharp elbow in the ribs from Natasha. Steve was really starting to suspect something was going on between the two Shield Agents, they acted like.. Like a married couple or something. He once again felt like he was missing something glaringly obvious.

Winter just looked bored, and honestly, Steve was pretty sure that was the first time he'd even seen that emotion on The Assassin's face. It was nice, knowing that Winter was comfortable enough to actually calm down enough to be bored.

[Sitwell looks around but doesn't see him] Your other ten o'clock. [Sitwell turns the other way and sees Sam sitting a few feet away from him] There you go.

"I love this guy's attitude." Tony commented, and Clint nodded in agreement. Steve just rolled his eyes, again.

"You know, if you keep rolling your eyes, they might get stuck back there." Winter said randomly, his icy blue eyes pinned on Steve.

The Captain couldn't help but smirk a little at that, Natasha had glanced over at them at The Assassin's comment.

"Yeah, keep it up and you might find a brain back there." She said 'helpfully', note the sarcasm.

Steve just rolled his eyes again, looks like the 'Mock Captain America' club was back, Yay. Perfect. Spectacular. Magnificent. Amazing.

Jasper Sitwell: What do you want?

Sam Wilson: You're gonna go around the corner, to your right. There's a grey car, two spaces down. You and I are gonna take a ride.

Jasper Sitwell: And why would I do that?

Sam Wilson: Because that tie looks really expensive, and I'd hate to mess it up. [Sitwell looks down at his tie and sees a small red light from the gun being pointed at him]

"Oooooo." Tony and Clint hummed in the most annoying way humanly possible, Steve stopped himself from rolling his eyes, aware of Winter and Natasha watching him.

"Why would he not shoot him because of a tie? That's a stupid reason to not kill someone." Winter observed in a creepily calm voice. Steve would never really get used to how easily the other man talked about killing.

Natasha rolled her eyes. "It was sarcasm, Winter, sarcasm." She said with exasperation. Winter let out a quiet 'oh' and Steve couldn't help but smile fondly at his teammates and The Assassin.

[Steve throws Sitwell across a rooftop, Natasha follows behind him]

Ah, so future Steve was in a bad mood, he couldn't blame himself. Steve smirked a little as Winter let out a quiet cheer. Well, at least Winter would enjoy this interrogation.

Steve Rogers: Tell me about Zola's algorithm.

Jasper Sitwell: Never heard of it.

"Lies." Grumbled Winter, though Steve could've sworn that The Assassin was smiling under his muzzle. Steve shook his head a little, even though he knew Winter was right.

Steve Rogers: What were you doing on the Lemurian Star?

Jasper Sitwell: I was throwing up, I get seasick.

"Lies." Winter repeated, not looking away from the screen. Steve was pretty sure Winter would call anything Sitwell said a lie. He couldn't really blame The Assassin, after all, if he was in The Soldier's place, he would be pretty angry too. Scratch that, he would be furious. Steve was already angry enough at what Hydra had done...

[Steve forces Sitwell to the edge of the rooftop, Sitwell just smiles] Is this little display meant to insinuate that you're gonna throw me off the roof? Because it's really not your style, Rogers.

Steve Rogers: You're right. It's not. It's hers. [Steve steps aside and Natasha kicks Sitwell off the roof, he plummets down screaming]

Winter looked incredibly satisfied, eyes glued to the screen. Steve had to roll his eyes at that, even though he felt satisfied too.

Glancing over, he saw that Natasha looked satisfied too, a small smirk on her face. The only problem was that Steve kind of needed Sitwell alive, so he hoped they had a plan.

Natasha Romanoff: Oh, wait. What about that girl from accounting, Laura...?

"You've got to be kidding me." Steve groaned, yearning snickers from everyone, including Bruce and Winter.

Steve noted that Winter seemed to enjoy Steve being put into awkward situations with girls, just like..

No, Steve wouldn't go there again. He had to stop comparing Winter to Bucky. He winced, it was hard to even think of his long gone brother. All the regret.. Pain. He shook his head, turning his attention back to the screen.

Steve Rogers: Lillian. Lip piercing, right?

Natasha Romanoff: Yeah, she's cute.

Steve Rogers: Yeah, I'm not ready for that.

Natasha let out a small laugh, while Tony and Clint snickered. Steve turned to Natasha. "You aren't going to stop, are you?" He groaned, rubbing his face. This only caused Natasha and Winter to laugh louder.

"Nah." Natasha smirked, and Winter gave her a thumbs up. Well, he used his human arm to give her a thumbs up, keeping his metal arm down.

Steve just groaned, giving up, it was a lost cause.

[suddenly, Sam, in his Falcon jet-pack suit with wings, flies up holding Sitwell and throws him down on the roof]

Winter groaned. "He's alive?" The Lethal Assassin whined, glaring at the screen, Steve patted his knee. "We need to interrogate him. He'll probably end up dead." Steve said reasonably, though he'd be lying if he said he didn't find Winter's reaction amusing.

[Steve and Natasha walk towards Sitwell, he holds his hand up in fear]

Jasper Sitwell: Zola's algorithm is a program...for choosing Insight's targets!

Steve Rogers: What targets?

Jasper Sitwell: You! A TV anchor in Cairo, the Undersecretary of Defense, a high school valedictorian in Iowa city. Bruce Banner, Stephen Strange, anyone who's a threat to HYDRA! Now, or in the future.

"... Well, at least I will most likely survive this..?" Winter said, and Steve could tell he was trying to lighten up the mood. Clint snorted.

"Reassuring." Was all The Archer said, and Tony sighed. "Like I said, this is an action movie, you're the main characters-" He gestured to Natasha and Steve. -''You can't die." Tony said this all with conviction.

"Dude, people die in movies." Clint pointed out, his voice a little too cheerful considering the current situation. Tony just huffed.

"Wait~ The future? How could it know who's going to be a future threat?" Steve pointed out, and his question was answered with silence.

Steve Rogers: The Future? How could it know?

"Dude. You really need to stop repeating yourself." Clint said, smirking at the exasperated Captain.

Steve just groaned and shook his head, but Winter decided to be annoying, sitting up and leaning forward. The Assassin patted Steve on the head. "Seriously, it's getting concerning." Winter said, his voice mocking.

Steve sat up, glaring at Winter half heartedly. "You have no right to talk." He pointed out, referring to earlier. Steve could've sworn that Winter was smirking underneath the muzzle. "Neh, I repeated you." He pointed out, making Steve groan and hide his face again. Of course, Winter just laughed at him.

[Sitwell laughs]

Jasper Sitwell: How could it not? The 21st century is a digital book. Zola taught HYDRA how to read it. [Steve and Natasha look at him in confusion] Your bank records, medical histories, voting patterns, e-mails, phone calls, your damn SAT scores. Zola's algorithm evaluates people's past to predict their future.

"That's…. Going to a problem." Bruce spoke up, tilting his head a little. Winter, who had laid down again, shook his head. "That's an understatement." Winter pointed out, once again not looking away from the screen, which was paused. Steve assumed it was the girl- Sylvia?- who paused every time they spoke.

Steve Rogers: And what then?

Jasper Sitwell: Oh, my God. Pierce is gonna kill me.

"Good." Winter said, a little bit of satisfaction dripping from his muffled voice. Steve knew he shouldn't be okay with Winter wanting someone to die so much, but he couldn't blame the other man. Winter had been through hell, and he deserved a chance at some revenge. Plus, Steve wanted the man dead too, Winter didn't seem like the kind of guy to hate someone for no reason. So anyone he hated, probably deserved it.

Steve Rogers: What then?!

Jasper Sitwell: Then the Insight Helicarriers scratch people off the list. A few million at a time.

Steve shuddered, he didn't even want to imagine that. All the families, all the loved ones lost. The situation Sitwell was explaining was horrifying, and unbelievingly awful. Steve couldn't let that happen, no matter what. Letting that happen would be like committing the act himself. He'd have to do everything in his power to stop that from happening.

Jasper Sitwell: [as Sam drives them to Triskelion] HYDRA doesn't like leaks.

Sam Wilson: So why don't you try sticking a cork in it.

Tony and Clint let out dry laughs at that, but Steve looked towards Winter in concern. "What will happen to you- when we go back- if they learn what you told us." Steve asked, looking over the other man in trepidation. Winter was already way underweight, Steve didn't want to imagine what Hydra would do to him…

Winter sighed, shaking his head. "It doesn't matter. I don't intend on telling them about this, and I don't know how they'd be able to tell that anything happened, as long as I pretend." Steve could tell the other man wasn't saying something. He was definitely hiding something, as Steve looked at The Assassin, he knew he was lying. There was no way Hydra wouldn't notice a difference, not because Winter couldn't pretend, but because they'd ask him to do something he didn't want to do. Like kill an innocent.

Steve knew Winter was lying to spare him, he knew Winter was trying to shield him from the truth.

Natasha Romanoff: Insight's launching in sixteen hours, we're cutting it a little bit close here.

Steve Rogers: I know. We'll use him to bypass the DNA scans and access the Helicarriers directly.

Jasper Sitwell: What?! Are you crazy? That is a terrible, terrible idea. [suddenly the Winter Soldier lands on the car roof.

Winter gulped, obviously disliking where this was going. No one said anything, they were all tense. Steve took a breath and prepared to watch the following events.
