Chapter 37: Gungan Attack

A government toppled by civil war!

Refusing to accept Prince Lee-Char as the next ruler of Mon Cala, the Quarren people join the Separatist alliance and launch an all-out attack on the Mon Calamari.

Caught unprepared, the young prince and his Jedi protectors are quickly overwhelmed and forced to retreat into caves far below the capital city, leaving Count Dooku and his allies to plan their next move.

Ahsoka and Nadia swam up the others, who contacted Master Yoda and Mace Windu via hologram.

"We lost contact with all Clone Troopers and Mon Cala soldiers."Master Fisto reported."The Quarren ambushed us, they were ready to attack long before the peace talks came to an end."

"Desperate, the situation is."Master Yoda commented."Reinforce your position, clones, we can..."

"Master Yoda, please repeat."Master Fisto stated."Are you sending additional reinforcements? You're breaking up."

Than the holograms of Master Yoda and Mace Windu vanished.

"Are they coming?"Prince Lee-Char asked.

"I don't know."Master Fisto answered.

"But they know our situation."Commander Ackbar replied."They must know to send more help."

"Yeah, but it may take them a while to get here."Anakin declared."We're gonna have to get ourselves to the surface and get off Mon Cala."

"I won't leave my people to die."Prince Lee-Char admitted.

Ferus glanced at Prince Lee-Char.

"With respect, Your Highness, if we stay, we die."Ferus reminded.

Prince Lee-Char looked down in sadness.

"We must reach the surface and see if our ship is still there."Padme commented.

"Prince Lee-Char will decide our course of action."Commander Ackbar reminded.

"I think it is best for us to try and escape using your ship."Prince Lee-Char answered.

"As you wish, Your Highness."Anakin replied."Follow me."

The group followed after Anakin and swam away.

In the Jedi Temple...

The Jedi Council was faced with the fact that they have no clone force equipped for underwater battle in time to aid their allies on Mon Cala.

"It'll take us days to outfit another clone regiment for underwater combat."Mace Windu said.

"Days our friends do not have."Obi-Wan committed.

"Perhaps we should look to armies other than clones to help our cause."Master Yoda replied.

"What do you suggest?"Mace Windu asked.

"A suitable ally, we must find, to help with this mission."Master Yoda answered.

A large hologram map of planets appeared in front of the Jedi Masters.

"Yes, an underwater race that has a standing army and is close enough to send help quickly."Saesee Tiin remarked.

"Naboo?"Obi-Wan suggested.

"Yes, to the Gungans, we must look."Master Yoda said.

"We shall contact them immediately."Mace Windu replied.

Back at Mon Cala...

The Jedi and their group spotted the large jelly fish droids going around.

"That's a lot of enemy troops between us and the surface."Padme responded.

"It's no problem."Anakin replied and smirked at Padme."I just hope you're a fast swimmer."

"Says the boy from the desert planet."Padme teased with a smile.

Nadia chuckled a little at the couple while Ferus rolled his eyes at them.

"Are you certain your ship is still there?"Senator Tills asked.

"There's only one way to find out."Ferus commented.

"I'll create a diversion so you can get past those patrols."Master Fisto stated.

"All right."Anakin responded."Try to get a mini-sub or two, it'll help us speed to the surface."

"No problem."Master Fisto answered.

The Jedi and their group spotted the large jellyfish droids going around.

Master Fisto swam up to the Qurren troops and fought them using his lightsaber.

Anakin glanced at Ahsoka, Nadia and Ferus.

"Ahsoka, you're up first with Ferus and Nadia."Anakin ordered."Take Prince Lee-Char and Senator Tills."

"Got it!"Ahsoka answered.

"Sure."Nadia sneered.

"You can count on us."Ferus admitted.

Ahsoka, Nadia and Ferus then swam away with Prince Lee-Char and Senator Tills.

The group then headed up where the ship was.

"There's the ship."Padme declared.

"Still in one piece."Ferus remarked.

But then the ship exploded and began to sank into the sea.

Anakin, Ahsoka, Nadia and Ferus activated their lightsabers to deflects the shots from the droids that were coming to them.

The Jedi Knight glanced at the Prince of Mon Cala.

"Well, Prince Lee-Char, how do you feel about fighting again?"Anakin asked.

"Master Jedi, we're too vulnerable here."Prince Lee-Char protested."We must reach the sea floor."

"Grab onto the debris."Anakin stated while grabbing a giant piece as it floated by."Let it carry you to the bottom."

"I think I'm getting seasick."Nadia admitted in a unsure tone.

Then the rest of the group grabbed onto the float.

A moment after, Master Fisto and Commander Monnk joined them.

"Back so soon?"Master Fisto asked.

"Yeah, the ship had some problems."Anakin replied.

"I can see that, all around me."Master Fisto replied, gesturing to the pieces from the ship.

"This is our only chance."Commander Ackbar stated."We need to split up and hide Prince Lee-Char's whereabouts."

"I'm not sure that's the best strategy."Anakin admitted.

"I'm sure."Prince Lee-Char answered."Commander Ackbar's words are my own, it will give us the best chances of surviving if we split up."

"As you wish."Anakin said and looked at the three teenagers."Ahsoka, you, Ferus and Nadia go with Prince Lee-Char and Kit. Also, take the clones with you. I'll take the Senators and Commander Ackbar. We have to lay low because ur only hope is that Master Yoda can send more help in time."

"No, General Skywalker, as your apprentice said before, Prince Lee-Char is our only hope."Commander Ackbar reminded.

Commander Ackbar placed a hand on Prince Lee-Char's shoulder before joining the other three.

The groups let go of the float, when they neared the ocean floor.

Unbeknownst to them, aqua droids were in the area.

In Naboo...

Master Yoda contacted Lyonie, a male Gungan who served as a boss on the Gungan High Council and Jar Jar Binks.

"Master Yoda, sir, to what's we owing the pleasure of your transmission?"Lyonie asked.

"Your help, the Republic needs."Master Yoda replied.

"Something's telling me it's big help you need."Lyonie commented."No?"

"Senator Amidala, your long-time ally, trapped on an occupied planet, she is."Master Yoda stated.

"Hmm."Lyonie responded."Mesa needs some thinking time to respond to thisa news."

"Thinking?!"Jar Jar questioned."Nosa thinking, mesa thinking Padme would help us, has helped us, big time, wesa gots to help her now."

"Yousa right."Lyonie replied."Thinking time's done, wesa need to be leaving now."

Master Yoda smiled at the two Gungans in approval.

Back in Mon Cala...

Master Fisto, Ahsoka, Nadia, Ferus, Prince Lee-Char, Senator Tills and the Clone Troopers swam into a cave.

"I don't think we've been followed."Master Fisto commented and glanced at Commander Monnk."Commander Monnk, post a lookout."

"We have no army and we don't know if more reinforcements are coming."Prince Lee-Char informed."What are our options?"

"We will have sit tight in the mean time."Nadia admitted.

"There's not much we can do."Ahsoka replied.

"Sir, you better come see this."Commander Monnk stated.

The group then saw so many Mon Calamari civilians were being taken as prisoners by the Separatist droids.

"So many prisoners."Prince Lee Char said sadly."Where are they taking them?"

"To become slaves for the Sith."Master Fisto replied.

"I can't believe Nossor Ri and the Quarren agreed to this."Prince Lee Char stated with a hint of anger.

"Darth Sidious rules here for now."Ferus admitted bitterly."Not Nossor Ri and the Quarren."

"What you see, Prince Lee-Char, is the future of all the people on your homeworld, Mon Cala and Quarren, all slaves for Darth Sidious."Master Fisto declared.

A sad look grown of Prince Lee Char's face.

In Another Side of Mon Cala...

Anakin, Padme, Commander Ackbar and their Clone Troopers were looking for interplanetary scanners.

"Commander Ackbar, which of these structures houses the capital city's interplanetary scanners?"Anakin asked.

"It's over there, across the square."Captain Ackbar replied."Why?"

"If Master Yoda sent additional reinforcements, I thought it would be helpful if the enemy couldn't tell they were coming."Anakin commented.

"If we knock out those sensors, they won't see our additional reinforcements until they're right on top of the city."Commander Ackbar exclaimed.

"Assuming someone is coming."Senator Tills stated.

"I'm sure Master Yoda will find a way to send more help."Padme admitted and looked at her secret husband."Anakin, it's your move."

"Follow me."Anakin ordered.

The group followed the Jedi Knight.

In the Cave...

Prince Lee Char spoke with Ahsoka, Nadia and Ferus.

"There must be something more I can do."Prince Lee Char suggested.

"I know it's hard, but you have to be patient."Ahsoka replied.

"But you saw my people."Prince Lee Char said sadly."I failed them."

"No, remember my best friend's words, 'You're the hope of your people.'"Nadia reminded with a frown."As long as you live, they will endure."

"I need an army."Prince Lee Char admitted."We have to fight back."

"You don't have to carry a sword to be powerful."Ferus stated."Some leaders' strength is inspiring greatness in others."

"But my people don't even know I'm alive!"Prince Lee Char protested."How can I inspire them if they think I'm dead?"

Anakin, Padme, Commander Ackbar and Senator Tills swam to the large building.

"Okay, just cover me."Anakin commented."I'm gonna have to concentrate."

"Concentrate?"Padme questioned in confusion."Concentrate on what?"

"Bringing that building down."Anakin replied.

Anakin the used the Force to push the large building.

Aqua droids immediately began firing lasers at the group.

"Anakin, hurry!"Padme protested.

Then Anakin managed to bring the building down causing it to tumble down below and making the scanner destroyed.

Anakin activated his lightsaber to deflect the lasers of the aqua droids and slashing them down.

The Jedi Knight then notice the large jelly fish droids heading to them.

"At least we're taking attention away from the prince."Padme admitted while holding her blaster.

Back in the Cave…

Ferus notice Prince Lee-Char was no longer inside the cave.

"Where's the prince?"Ferus questioned.

Before anyone could say anything, they heard a horn blowing sound coming from outside.

Prince Lee-Char blew on a shell horn and the sound travelled far enough to reach the Mon Calamari prisoners.

"Oh no!"Ahsoka gasped."Prince Lee-Char!"

"Let's hurry!"Nadia insisted.

Master Fisto, Ahsoka, Nadia, Ferus and their Clone Troopers swam out of the cave as the Mon Calamari civilians spotted Prince Lee-Char.

"Prince Lee-Char!"

"He's alive!"

"Look there!"

"People of Mon Cala, have hope."Prince Lee Char stated.

"We'll fight for you, Prince Lee-Char!"A male Mon Calamari said confidently.

"You will not be prisoners much longer!"Prince Lee-Char assured.

Master Fisto, Ahsoka, Nadia and Ferus hid in a bunch of sea weed, watching the scene.

"Okay, I think the show is over."Nadia scoffed.

"The guards will be coming."Ahsoka declared."We have to go."

"We can't leave without the Prince."Ferus reminded.

The four Jedi then activated their lightsabers to deflect the lasers of the aqua droids that were firing at Prince Lee-Char.

Then an army of Gungans attacked the aqua droids.

"Gungans."Master Fisto remarked."The tide has turned in our favour."

"Let's free my people, attack!"Prince Lee Char ordered.

Master Fisto, Ahsoka, Nadia, Ferus and their Clone Troopers then charged into battle.

Jar Jar and a group of Gungans took down the jelly fish droids.

"Ani, mesa so happy to see you."Jar Jar greeted.

"Perfect timing, Jar Jar."Anakin said with a smile.

"Whatsa?"Jar Jar asked."Mesa can't hear so good since me submerged."

The four Jedi and Prince Lee-Char took down the rest of the aqua droids.

A few minutes later, a tornado of sand appeared around them and they looked up to see a large squid assault ship spinning around with its four mechanical tentacles stretched out while two smaller ones swam around it.

"Stay in the center, there's less turbulence."Ferus informed.

Suddenly, the bottom of the ship opened up and Riff dived towards Prince Lee-Char with a roar before grabbing him.

Prince Lee-Char managed to kick Riff off while Ahsoka, Nadia and Ferus spun around and headed towards a group of aqua droids and slashing them down.

Ahsoka used the Force to push Riff away before Nadia kicked him on the face, stunning him for a moment.

Ahsoka, Nadia and Ferus swam up in front of Prince Lee-Char and held their lightsabers in defensive positions before the male Karkarodon shook his head clear and looked at them.

Riff clicked a button on his belt before retreating outside the tornado as a few droids surrounded the four teenagers and started shooting at them.

While Ahsoka, Nadia and Ferus were distracted with blocking bolts, Riff came from behind and grabbed Prince Lee-Char.

Riff roared and attempted to bite Prince Lee-Char before Master Fisto suddenly appeared and kicked him off the young Mon Calamari, breaking his jaw in the process.

The Jedi Master ignited his blade and tried cutting the male Karkarodon, only for his wrists to get grabbed and end up disarmed.

Master Fisto retreated a few feet away and Riff snapped his jaw back into place before roaring at the older Jedi and rushing towards him.

Ahsoka, Nadia and Ferus took out a few more droids and tried to swim over to Prince Lee-Char when another aqua droid stopped them.

Riff tried to kill Prince Lee Char, but Master Fisto quickly grabbed the shark's ankle before kicking him away.

"Ferus, Ahsoka, Nadia, escape with Prince Lee-Char!"Master Fisto ordered."I'll hold him off!"

Ahsoka, Nadia and Ferus took Prince Lee-Char to safety while Master Fisto manages to engage Riff in close combat for long enough for the four teenagers to escape.

Ahsoka, Nadia, Ferus and Prince Lee-Char watched from a bunch of seaweed that their friends and allies were led into captivity.

Prince Lee-Char began to despair over their loss and that only he and the three young Jedi were left to fight on.

"Now the four of us are the only ones left."Prince Lee-Char said sadly.

"I'm sorry, Prince Lee-Char."Nadia apologised.

"I know what I must do, I know my people need me."Prince Lee-Char commented firmly."I just don't know how to win this war."

"Look, I know you're scared, but you can't let your fear control you."Ahsoka answered gently.

Prince Lee-Char glanced at Ahsoka, Nadia and Ferus.

"Aren't you guys scared?"Prince Lee-Char questioned.

"We used to be until we realised that if you make decisions out of fear, you're more likely to be wrong."Ferus admitted.

"But we know clearly as long as we keep you alive, there's still hope to free your home."Nadia assured.

Prince Lee-Char nodded at his companions.

"I will unify Mon Cala again, I promise."Prince Lee-Char vowed with a confident look.

Ferus, Nadia and Ahsoka share a smile with each other.

Prince Lee-Char, Ahsoka, Nadia and Ferus then heard a distant sound causing them to get alarmed.

"We have to go."Ahsoka reminded.

Prince Lee-Char, Ahsoka, Nadia and Ferus swam away from the area they were in to retreat to a new hiding place.
