Chapter 1: I Biffed It
"No he's yellow!"
"No he's orange yellow!"
"He looks straight up orange to me."
Tails the fox was just standing in front of his three friends, Sonic the Hedgehog, a friend who he considers to be close to him as a big brother and a hero that has super speed he uses to fight against the likes of Eggman. Standing next to him on the left was Honey the Cat, another friend who he also considers to be like a big sibling and is a very skillful cat who likes to fight. Lastly there was Knuckles the Echidna, another close friend and the last of his kind and the guardian of the Master Emerald on a floating island known as Angel Island. The three were currently in an argument of some sort that involves Tails' fur color.
The gang were hanging out as usual at Sonic's place for some R and R after having an adventure with Blaze the Cat in an alternate version of the Sol Dimension not too long ago, dealing with an evil counterpart of her known as Killer Queen Blaze. Before they were having their argument about Tails' fur color, the gang were in the middle of using the Sega CD playing the game Eternal Champions on it. Sonic, Honey, and Knuckles were standing in front of the young fox rubbing their chins as they were examining him carefully. Tails was looking rather annoyed as he tapped his foot as his friends looked at him.
"Guys, is this really necessary?" Tails said, getting more annoyed.
"Well blame Honey for bringing this up is what started this." Sonic said, keeping his eyes on his little brother.
"Look, all I am saying is that Tails' fur color looks yellow to me." Honey said to everyone.
"No, his fur is more orange looking to me." Knuckles said, looking at Tails closer.
Sonic then went over to one of the walls of his home and picked up a frame photo from the wall. The photo was a picture of him and Tails taking a picture together at an old pizza parlor in the 90's, both looking happy and having fun in the photo together as they ate pizza and played arcade games. Sonic began looking at the photo and Tails in front of him to make a comparison.
"Look! If you look at the photo of me and Tails, you can clearly see that his fur color is yellow-orange." Sonic said, showing the comparison to Honey and Knuckles.
"No!" Honey yelled, not wanting to admit defeat.
Honey then stood beside Tails and grabbed his arm to make a comparison with her fur color on her own arm. "You look! See! Tails has the same fur color as mine! His fur is clearly yellow!" The cat shot back.
"No! Tails fur is orange! I remember because that's how I first saw him. Stop messing with my head!"" Knuckles yelled back.
"Darn it! We're not leaving this spot until we come to a conclusion! Even if it takes us all day!" Sonic yelled, frustrated at his friends who also agreed with him.
Sonic, Honey, and Knuckles began arguing more as Sonic was showing off the photo of him and Tails, Honey still holding Tails' arm, and Knuckles relying on his memories. Tails just looked annoyed watching everyone argue about his fur color, though he must admit. Even he didn't know what his fur color was now that he looked at it carefully.
As everyone kept arguing with each other, they were unaware of a random stranger behind them coming inside Sonic's house through the front door. The mysterious stranger seems to be a female of some sort for she was humming a soft tune as she headed towards Sonic's kitchen to get something to eat. She opened the fridge and got excited because she picked up one of Sonic's chili dogs he was saving for lunch. The female then quickly heated up the chili dog as the arguing noise from Sonic, Honey, and Knuckles kept happening as she waited.
Once the chili dog was heated up enough, the girl took it out of the microwave and carefully took a bite out of it. She chirped happily tasting the warm chili dog and walked towards the living room where she was standing behind the gang and listening to what they were arguing about which seems to be something about Tails' fur color from what she heard.
"I say he's more of a fox brown color." The female said.
Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles looked at Honey thinking she was the one who said that. "Don't look at me, I didn't say anything." Honey said, looking at her friends.
Everyone then caught a glimpse of someone standing behind them as they slowly turned their heads with curiosity. When they turned to look who spoke, their eyes laid on a character that looked very familiar to them.
Behind them stood a gorgeous female blue hedgehog cutely eating a chili dog. She was wearing the same red and white striped shoes like Sonic's footwear. Very visible was her feminine blue legs for she was wearing a white leotard with a red chest armor plate on top of it. Two light blue armor shoulder pads and two white gloves. She wore a red head band on her forehead as her blue spiky hair was loose.
The strange blue female hedgehog was looking at the group with her beautiful emerald color eyes that looked very similar to Sonic's eyes while having her hand on her hip in a sassy manner. The female hedgehog quickly ate the remaining part of the chili dog and softly licked the chili sauce from the tip of her gloves.
She rubbed her belly softly and let out a cute burp. "Ah, that hits the spot. Nothing beats a chili dog" The female hedgehog said, happily.
Everyone was stunned to see the female hedgehog in their presence as she stood in front of them. Sonic's eyes widened for he quickly realized who the strange female hedgehog was in front of them, looking at her blue fur and emerald color eyes that matched his.
"Selena?!" Sonic yelled the female hedgehog's name.
Tails, Honey, and Knuckles also widened when they realized who was there with them. Sonic was frowning while the rest were smiling happily seeing the blue female hedgehog for they haven't seen her in a while. Sonic wasn't too keen on the appearance of the female hedgehog for there was some interesting history between them that he wished he could forget.
"Selena!" Tails, Honey, and Knuckles yelled happily.
Selena giggled, "In the flesh! It's great seeing you all again!" She said, waving to them.
Selena the Hedgehog, a female blue hedgehog that looks identical to Sonic himself. It all started with an experiment gone wrong where Tails accidentally turned Sonic into a female and went by the name of Selena before changing back into a boy again. The whole Selena identity came back again when Sonic needed her beauty to fight off one of Eggman's popstar weapons that was messing with everyone's love emotions and defeated him as Selena. Sometime after that, Tails made the antidote but had a strange side effect which caused Selena to manifest out of Sonic's body with her own female personality while still having some of Sonic's memories and powers like if she was there growing up with him.
Since then, Selena has taken the identity as Sonic's long lost twin sister for she didn't want to be looked at as a female clone and wanted to fit in Sonic's gang of friends normally. Now she's back with Sonic and others but she is looking quite different than the last time they saw her.
As the gang stood there with smiles except Sonic, Honey stepped out from the gang and quickly gave Selena a happy hug for her return which she hugged her back wrapping her arms around her for a sisterly hug. Honey considers Selena as her sister as well seeing how she and Sonic have a sibling bond between them.
"Oh sis! It's so good seeing you again!" Honey said, hugging her.
"It's good seeing you too Honey! I hope your fighting skills are sharp as ever." Selena said, as she and Honey kept cutely hugging.
The two stopped hugging as Honey stepped back and took a closer look at Selena's new appearance and was curious to know what she's been up to since the last time they saw each other.
"Jeez Selena what's up the outfit? You look like a female warrior from the 90's." Honey said, looking at the armor plate she had on her chest area.
Selena giggled at the cat. "Oh just my new adventuring outfit that I have been wearing for a while." She said, making a cool pose.
"Adventuring outfit?" Honey said, raising an eye.
Sonic stepped forward to the two females. "Yeah, Selena has been going on some solo adventures of her own." Sonic explained.
"Ha! So you have been reading my letters I've been sending you!" Selena teased her twin brother.
"How can I not! You've been sending nothing but Popful Mail after another." Sonic shot back, making Selena roll her eyes and smile.
"So what happened to fighting in MMA, Selena? Wasn't that your thing?" Tails said, curious.
Selena shrugged her shoulders, "Meh, it kinda got boring after awhile. I wanted more of a challenge and to explore the world. I guess you can say I gave myself a reboot in my life hahaha." She laughed.
She then looked down at her outfit, "I actually had Candy make this outfit for me." Selena said, mentioning Honey's mentor.
"She made this for you?" Honey said, surprised.
"Eeyup! When I told her about it she was very excited to work on it. I paid her back by wearing some of her outfits and did some photo shoots." Selena said, remembering her time with the fashion designer.
"That's Candy for ya." Honey giggled.
"She gave me the outfit I was asking for. Something spunky and adventurous." Selena said as she started showing off her legs. "It's good that my legs are visible like this with my outfit. It makes running more comfortable."
"It's true, it's why I don't wear pants. Wearing pants makes running uncomfortable for me haha." Sonic said, agreeing with his twin sister.
As Selena was showing her legs, Tails noticed that Knuckles had been completely silent for a while. The young fox turns to look over to his echidna friend only to see him with his mouth wide open and his face blushing madly seeing the new appearance of Sonic's twin sister. Tails then grabbed Knuckles' mouth and closed it for him being a true pal. Tails couldn't help but chuckle remembering that both Knuckles and Shadow had an attraction for the blue female hedgehog.
"Well at least Shadow isn't here, otherwise things would have gotten crazy around here." Tails said, to himself.
Selena looked at her twin brother. "So enough about me, what have you guys been doing lately? What was your last grand killer adventure like? I bet it was a light hearted adventure filled with laughter and joy you guys made together, huh?" She asked and laughed.
Sonic, Tails, Honey, and Knuckles started thinking about what happened recently and started to have horrible images and memories of Blaze's alternate dimension counterpart Killer Queen Blaze laughing menacingly in their heads. They quickly shook off that memory and looked at Selena with their usual smiles, thinking it was best she doesn't know about that yet.
"Oh you know, just kicking Eggman's butt around like usual." Sonic answered while laughing nervously.
"So Selena, what brought you here today? It's not often you visit us you know." Honey said, looking at the hedgehog.
Selena stood beside Sonic and placed her arm around him. "Oh you know, just thought I'd drop by and see how my favorite twin brother and his friends were doing hahaha." She said, playfully patting Sonic's chest.
Everyone seems to be happy with her answer for how she's such a good sister and friend. Sonic on the other hand wasn't convinced, he could tell by her body language and the tone in her voice that she wasn't fully telling the truth.
Sonic gave an unconvincing look at the female hedgehog. "Oh really? That really the reason?" He said, raising an eyebrow.
Selena was trying to keep a cute and static face as she looked at Sonic for a bit. She couldn't keep it for her body began to shake and started to sweat nervously as Sonic kept looking at her. Her face got red and her cheeks puffed up because she couldn't hold it in any longer. Tails, Honey, and Knuckles began to worry except Sonic who was still looking at her with a serious face.
Selena finally gave up, "Oh alright! You caught me." She said, turning and looking away from Sonic with her arms folded.
"Knew it." Sonic smirked. "Now spill it."
Selena shyly twiddled her fingers while looking at the ground. "I kinda need your help." She admitted.
Sonic and the rest grew curious as they gathered around Selena, wondering what in the world could she want help with. "Help with what?" Sonic asked.
Selena gave an innocent laugh as she rubbed the back of her head and kept her eyes on the floor. "Oh nothing, I kinda accidentally unleashed some ancient evil and doomed the world as we know it. No big deal right?" She said, chuckling.
"What!?" Sonic and the gang yelled.
"You let out some ancient evil onto our world?!" Sonic yelled, getting upset.
"Hey! It was by accident like I said and most notably I was tricked into unleashing them." Selena shot back as Knuckles, Tails, and Honey got close to her with eager looks.
"You were tricked?!" Knuckles said, surprised.
"How did that happen!?" Tails asked.
"Tell us the story now!" Honey yelled, very eager.
"Okay okay okay! Jeez, calm down." Selena said, seeing how curious and eager the gang were to know like a group of kindergartners wanting to hear a story from their teacher.
Selena closed her eyes and began to think about the accident. Wanting to get more comfortable, she went to Sonic's couch to sit on it. The gang followed and sat on the couch with Selena who was starting to tell the story, sitting very close to her as they moved their heads while Sonic was the only one standing up.
"It happened a while back, I was chasing this wanted criminal who had a bounty on him. I tell ya he was a real nutcracker." Selena said, as everyone gave her their attention.
Flashback
The sound birds were squalling in the air near a woods area as they flew over them. The day was bright and with a few puffy clouds in the sky. Down below in the woods area was Selena herself running through the woods in quick haste. But she was being careful not to run too fast for she was cautious at the moment for she was chasing a very dangerous being.
"I got you now you little criminal!" Selena yelled angrily and annoyed. "Hold and surrender!"
"Hahaha!" Yelled a familiar laugh running away from Selena.
Selena was breathing heavily as she was giving chase. The strange being was a green bird wearing a red scarf and had a pointy beak than most birds would have and wore red shoes with a white stripe on them. This green bird is known as Bean the Dynamite, or at least that's what he calls himself.
Bean is a crazy bird that loves making bombs and throwing them. He loves seeing the explosion from his bombs when they go off. Bean was part of Nack the Weasel's gang (Also known as Fang the Sniper by most.) alongside Bark the Polar Bear, both weren't present at the moment as Bean was on his own.
The green bird was running away from Selena because she was after him seeing that he is a wanted criminal. Selena wanted to bring him because it was a good chance to show off her heroic deeds and to earn some money from it, which she desperately needed at the moment.
Bean looked back at Selena with an evil snarky look as she kept calling him. "You little freak of nature don't stand a chance! Give it up!" Selena yelled.
The bomb fanatic bird pulled his trademark bomb from his hammer space and began throwing it at Selena. The hedgehog's eyes widened and quickly jumped to her left as the bomb missed and exploded on impact.
Selena got back up to her feet and got back to chasing Bean through the woods. Bean wanted to get away from Selena and started throwing multiple bombs from his hammer space at Selena. The female hedgehog reached the side of her body and pulled out her sword. With it she began to deflect the incoming bombs from Bean as they exploded around her while dodging a few. Bean kept at it with his bombs as Selena deflected them away with her sword.
Beam smirks as he pulls out a special type of bomb that will help give him the advantage over the female hedgehog especially since they reach the part of the woods that Bean wanted to get to. The green bird closed one of his eyes and stuck out his tongue as he carefully aimed his special bomb.
With perfect timing, Bean threw the bomb straight at Selena, aiming at her face. Selena saw the bomb heading towards her and quickly sliced it in half with her sword. It was bad because instead of an explosion like the rest of the bomb. It turns out the bomb that Bean threw was a smoke bomb as smoke exploded in front of Selena.
This made Selena stop running because she started coughing from the smoke making her due so. She opened her eyes and gritted her teeth as she grip her sword tightly. Selena then started to swing her sword around to fan the smoke away from her to make the area around her visible.
Once she was able to clear the area of smoke, to her surprise Bean popped out from the bush in front of her. Selena got her sword ready to swing, only to be taken by surprise once again when another Bean popped out from the bush next to the other Bean.
The two Bean robots pointed and laughed at Selena with a robotic laugh. Realizing they were robot copies, Selena got her sword ready. "Eat this cookie face!" She yelled at the Bean robots.
With a mighty swing, Selena sliced off the head of the Bean robot by the neck making oil spill out from the neck area like it was blood. The other Bean robot panics seeing his robot brother's head sliced off but soon also gets sliced in half by Selena with her sword as she gives a mighty yell.
Selena had a smirk on her face, feeling proud of her taking down these two robot copies. "Two down, one to go." She said, feeling victorious.
Her victory moment was cut short for she then heard more robotic laughs around her. She opened her eyes and looked over and saw multiple Bean the Dynamite robot copies pointing and laughing at her as they popped out from the bushes and the trees.
Selena had a nervous smile as her lip and right eye was twitching. She kept her brave face and gripped her sword. "Get a load of this you creeps!" She mocked them.
She ran towards the Bean robots and started slicing their heads off and sliced their bodies in half as oil leaked from their robotic bodies.
"Take that!" Selena said, slicing another head off.
Selena kept on slicing and dicing with her sword until not a single one was left standing. Nothing but heads, loose robot arms and legs were around Selena. She stabbed her sword on the ground using it to hold her body up because she was tired and sweating after slicing up the Bean robots.
"Yes! Finally got rid of them." Selena said, breathing heavily as she looked down at the destroyed robots.
Selena's eyes widened once when she heard a whistle. She looked where the whistle came from only to see more Bean robots coming out from the bushes and trees around her.
"Oh come on!" Selena shouted.
Seeing how she was too tired to fight anymore these robots. She quickly sheathed her sword and started to run away from the army of Bean robots. Wanting to get away from the robots and to catch up to the real Bean. Selena used her energy to curl up into a blue ball and spin dash away from the Bean robot. The spin dash was enough to catch up to Bean who she can see still running in the woods away from her. Bean was laughing menacingly as his laugh echoed through the woods.
"You can run but you can't hide!" Selena shouted at Bean.
Bean turned around facing Selena who also stopped dead in her tracks. The bird smirked some more as he laughed at the female hedgehog.
"I got you now Bean the Dynamite!" Selena smiling, finally having the upper hand. "You're choice, we can do this the easy way or the hard way."
Bean just laughed at the hedgehog. "Bwhahahah! Hey you're a really funny girl! You make me laugh." He said as he pointed at her. "Hey, do you like a good joke? Boomba! Hahaha!"
The green bird just blew a raspberry at Selena making her mad as her face turned red. "Why you annoying bird!" She yelled.
"Hey Boomba!" Bean called her in a mocking way. "If you want my head? Woo! Help yourself!"
Selena was confused by what he meant that she could have his head. Just before she could take a step forward to Bean. She looked down at the ground to see one of Bean's copy robot's head roll from behind her.
Before she could react the head of the Bean robot exploded next to her right before giving a mocking laugh. It wasn't an explosive bomb or smoke bomb like the others but instead it was a sticky bomb making Selena's body covered in orange goo that was making her body unable to move from the spot.
"I hope you like my sticky bomb, Boomba! See ya! Hoo hoo hoo!" Bean mocked Selena as he managed to get away from her.
Selena tried her best to break free but couldn't because the goo was too strong. She kept trying until she fell to her knees in defeat, seeing that Bean fully managed to escape from her. She looked down at the ground disappointed in herself and frowned.
"Aw man, I biffed it."
After waiting for a while, the goo from the sticky bomb got weak as the sun managed to make it dry helping Selena break free. She continued walking through the woods with her head low and eyes closed as she made sad sounds. Selena was thinking in recent days of her adventures how she hasn't made any progress of gaining money from them.
"Oh, I wonder if I'm even cut out to be a decent hero. There's gotta be an adventure that I can take on with a huge reward. Perhaps one where it doesn't have chasing wanted criminals. My luck has gotta change soon." Selena said to herself as she walked through the woods.
Selena lifted her head up for she was now at the exit of the woods. She looked to see a city nearby and figured she would relax to clear off the stress and frustration she was feeling.
"Wow, a city. Perhaps a nice meal would make me feel better. I haven't eaten anything since early morning. I should have enough money left to buy a meal." Selena said, patting her stomach playfully.
The blue female hedgehog quickly ran down to get to the city using her brother's signature spin dash to get there quicker. It wasn't long until she reached the entrance of the city where she started walking through crowds of people around her.
Selena saw groups of people hanging out with their friends and family. Many businesses are trying to sell their merchandise to the people in the city. Kids and teens playing at some park she walked by. It was a very lively city to say the least.
She managed to reach an area of the city where multiple restaurants open for service. She quickly picked a diner to eat at and entered it making the bells on the top of the door jingle out loud. Selena sat on a stool near the front counter of the diner.
One of the diner workers came out from the back. Selena quickly looked at them, gaining their attention. Selena was taken by the worker's appearance for having an eye patch on his left eye, but didn't want to question it. She then reached down to her hammer space and grabbed a few gold rings. "One chili dog and a fresh beverage please!" She asked politely.
Selena slid over her rings at the diner worker who nodded, accepting her gold rings as currency. She waited for a few minutes until a plate with a freshly made chili dog appeared alongside her drink.
She picked up the chili dog and began to happily munch on it. "Ah, chili dog, my one true love." She said to herself.
Selena was deep in her thoughts as she took bites of her chili dog and sip her drink. "Where can a girl like me find some excitement around here?" She thought to herself.
She then looked at the diner employee. "Hey man! Do you happen to know a place that's worth going on an adventure? I only take the very best." She asked.
The employee raised an eye on the blue hedgehog. "I…..I just work here ma'am. What do you think this is? Some old tavern in some fantasy world?" The employee teased and walked away.
"You sure belong in one with that eye patch of yours." Selena mocked the worker.
Selena just sigh sadly. "Phooey! No luck." She said, pouting before taking another bite of her chili dog.
"Pfft! Hey girlie!"
"Huh what was that?" Selena said, hearing the voice.
"Pfft! Over here!" Said the voice a bit louder.
"Where is that coming from?" Selena said.
The hedgehog quickly turned around on her stool seat and began looking around the diner. The place was mostly empty despite a few people there enjoying their meal or admiring the city through the window. She kept looking around for the source of the noise until she spotted what seemed to be a bald man with a white beard.
"Pfft! Over here! Yes you! I have something of interest that you may like to hear." He said to Selena.
Selena shrugged her shoulders and quickly ate her chili dog before heading over to the old man. She walked towards him as she licked the chili from her fingertips as she stood near the old man.
"What up old man? You called?" Selena said.
"Yes, I did. Please take a seat." He said, as Selena sat in front of the table.
"Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Muttonhead." He said.
"Muttonhead?" Selena said, baffled by the name.
"Hey don't blame me, blame my parents for the name. Anyway, I couldn't help but listen to your thirst for adventure and I think I can help you." Muttonhead said to the hedgehog.
"And why should I listen to you?" Selena said, being cautious.
"Because I have this cool looking medallion, missy." Mutton said, pulling the shiny and beautiful medallion from underneath his shirt.
"Woah, that is cool!" Said Selena, with her eyes beaming on the medallion.
"Most importantly, I have this key." Muttonhead said, showing it off.
"A key?" Selena said, scratching her head.
"Far north from here there is an ancient ruin filled with deadly creatures that inhabited the ruin for centuries. It's almost impossible to make it out, but only a few have escaped but never got to see what's hidden in the ruins." Muttonhead said.
"What's hidden?" Selena grew curious.
"There is a hidden treasure chest and with this key, it said this is to open the treasure chest filled with gold and jewelry from the ancient rulers that once roamed this world." He said, looking at the key.
"How did you get such a key in the first place?" Selena wondered.
"This key has been in my family for generations. It's been with me my whole life. I tried many times to enter the ancient ruins during my youth and to see if the treasure is real, or if it's even there to begin with. Now I am an old man and my adventuring days have long passed." Muttonhead said, looking at the key.
Muttonhead then slid the key over to Selena. "Perhaps you can be the one who will finally see the treasure chest. I have a feeling you might be the one to do it. What do you say?" He said.
Selena scratched her head unsure if she wants to take such a thing, yet exploring an ancient ruin and fighting off dangerous creatures sounded a lot more exciting than chasing wanted criminals. She too was curious about this treasure chest filled with valuable things that will really help her financially with her life and her thirst for adventure would be fulfilled.
The female hedgehog slammed her hands on the table. "I'll do it!" She happily accepted.
"Really?" Said Muttonhead, surprised.
"Yeah why not? It might be dangerous but that's the point of an adventure! It's fun if you don't expect what's going to happen!" Selena said, getting up from the table as she started heading out of the diner.
"Just a reminder, you'll know you're at the place where the ancient ruins have the same symbol as that key I gave you." Muttonhead said, informing the hedgehog.
"Great! Thanks for the tip!" Selena said, looking back at Muttonhead and gave him a thumbs up.
As Selena exited out of the diner she jumped into the air as she fist pumped while in the air happily. "Woohoo! This is my lucky day! A new adventure awaits me!" She yelled out loud, gaining some attention by the folks nearby before zipping past them in a blue blur.
After her encounter with Muttonhead and accepting his quest, Selena wasted no time in heading north where the ancient ruins that Muttonhead said were located. She ran non stop until she reached an area where old beat up buildings and stone structures were showing. Soon more buildings were showing, making Selena stop dead in her tracks and began searching around.
She noticed how badly the area looked damaged and how badly it was covered in moss that grew over the area. She saw some creatures but not deadly creatures that Muttonhead said there were. It was mostly deer that were eating grass and flowers off the floor, most of the deer ran away from Selena thinking she was a hunter because they saw the sword that was attached to her hip. Other creatures such as rabbits and birds were also present but unlike the deer they didn't run for they just oddly looked at Selena who walked past them.
The more Selena walked further in the area, the more it looked destroyed. "Must have been quite a battle that took place here." She said, picking up an old rusted shield that broke in seconds she picked it up.
She began to get annoyed when she saw more buildings as she scratched her head. "Now which buildings of these ancient ruins am I supposed to go in?" She said to herself.
Selena then remembered what Muttonhead said to her earlier. She pulled out the key she was given from her hammer space and looked at its symbol. She began dashing around to each building trying to see if there was a symbol that matched the one with the key she was holding.
She eventually found the right building though she passed it a few times for parts the symbol was completely covered in moss that Selena cut off with her sword. The hedgehog opened the door and she was inside.
The place had some lights popping out from the ceiling because there were large holes. There are tree branches and a small waterfall spilling some water on the floor. Selena tread carefully watching her step and with her sword ready in hand.
As she ventured further in the ruin while slashing through some spider webs, she then spotted something moving in the distance. Selena then saw a weird shadow from beneath her getting bigger.
She knew what was going to happen and quickly jumped out of the way. What landed on the spot Selena was standing on was a giant spider. It was about 10 feet tall with eight spiny spider legs. It had two front legs that ended in scythe-like blades. Its body was gray and brown in color.
The large creature wasn't alone for more it's kind started to show up around Selena. She was overwhelmed by the amount of creatures that showed up but it wasn't enough to break her spirit. If anything, it made her smile in joy seeing she can't hold back on her attacks and show what she's made of with her sword skills.
The large spider creature then jumped towards Selena and tried to slice her with its scythe-like blade for legs. She did a backflip dodging the attack. She took notice that another spider creature was right behind her head and its scythe was ready to slice her off.
Selena smirked and quickly crouched down to avoid the scythe in time. While still crouching, the spider creature left himself open making Selena stabbed the spider creature in the face with her sword making it screech in pain.
The hedgehog then sliced off the spider's scythe blade from its body as the spider continued to screech in pain. She picked up the slice up scythe blade as she saw another spider creature jumping towards in the air. Seeing this, Selena took aim and threw the scythe blade at the airborne spider and managed to stab on the chest where it's heart was at.
"Two down, more to go." Selena smirked, seeing she was being surrounded by more spider creatures.
A blue aura surrounded her body as she was getting her speed boost ready. As the spider creatures approached Selena, she quickly disappeared from their views in a blue blur. They began searching the area for the female hedgehog, she suddenly appeared and stabbed one of them in the back.
The spider creature tried shooting their web on her, hoping it would slow down her speed. Instead they ended up webbing their allies and it gave Selena the perfect chance to attack them while they stuck and sliced their bodies in half.
"Now this is an adventure! Wah hoo!" Selena yelled happily.
Selena was having the time of her life as she kept getting the upper hand against these giant spider creatures. She would mocked them by riding on them like a bull on a rodeo, sliced their legs off, and tricked them into attacking each other by accident.
The battle came to conclusion as Selena stabbed the last spider creature present right on the chest as it tried to jump on her. Selena looked at her surroundings to see if there were anymore spider creatures and listened carefully for any surprise attacks.
Seeing that the coast was cleared, Selena smiled and sheathed her sword away. Began to whistle a catchy tune as she walked past all the beaten spider creatures while playfully patted their bodies like drums to make beats with her whistle.
She walked for a while in the ruins while avoiding some deadly traps that were on her way. Selena then found a door with the same symbol that was on the key. She figured this must be the room where the treasure was being held.
The hedgehog pushed open the double doors and there it was the treasure chest on top of the stairway as the light from outside was shining on it. Wanting to be extra careful, she slowly walked while checking her surroundings in case there were more deadly traps to prevent her from getting the treasure.
She managed to reach the stairs and started walking up to the treasure chest. Selena smiled happily, finally able to see the treasure chest up close. The treasure chest was red with a gold lock that shone with the sun's reflection. The gold locked itself looked like it had some ancient writing on it made by someone, though Selena couldn't read it for she didn't understand what it meant and thought it was part of some decoration.
Selena pulled out the key from her hammerspace. "Now let's take a look at this ancient treasure that Muttonhead spoke of." She said, excitedly.
She carefully inserted the key into the keyhole and twisted it. The gold lock came off as it fell to the ground making a small thud noise. Selena wiggled her fingers excitedly as she placed them to the side of the treasure chest.
The moment she opened the lid off the treasure chest, a huge burst of a purple cloud came out and pushed Selena away down by surprise. Selena screamed in pain as she fell down the stairway as her body rolled. When Selena landed on the floor, she looked up to the whole ceiling of the building covered in a purple cloud.
"What's going on? Where's the treasure?!" Selena said, surprised.
The purple clouds slowly started opening and slowly revealed three pairs of yellow demonic eyes staring down at her. Selena was a bit scared how they looked at her and wasn't expecting any of this.
"What's happening? What did I unleash?" She asked herself while rubbing her head.
"Hahahaha!"
Selena heard the laughter coming behind her. She looked to see who laughed and was surprised to see Muttonhead there with her. The old man was giving Selena one of the most evil looks she saw him do as he continued to laugh at her.
"Muttonhead? What are you doing here?" Selena asked.
"Isn't it obvious? I came to see my masters!" He answered.
"Masters?" Selena said, confused.
"Yes! And it's all thanks to you girlie! For getting rid of those wretched spiders that kept getting in my way!" Muttonhead said, clapping his hands. "My masters have been sealed away for centuries after losing to a group of heroes! Oh how I waited for this day to come!"
"Just who are you Muttonhead?" The hedgehog asked.
"Glad you asked!" Muttonhead said.
Muttonhead's body then bursted in smoke. Selena saw how Muttonhead's appearance was slowly changed as seen through his silhouette. Once the smoke cleared, Muttonhead was no longer the old man with the purple cloak.
Standing in front of Selena was an anthropomorphic goat with white long hair and pointy devil-like horns. He wore a purple armor outfit with a cape. He looked at Selena with a wicked smile and chuckled.
"This is my true form and the name isn't Muttonhead. Muttonhead is just an illusion spell I created to get adventurers like you to this quest. Many have tried and failed, except for you!" The goat with white hair said.
"My real name is Kazyr."
"Kazyr!? That's more silly than Muttonhead." Selena said.
Kazyr ignored Selena's taunt and looked at the three pairs of demonic eyes. He raised his hands in the air and looked at the purple cloud.
"Morgal! Necros! Ulger! It is me! Kazyr, you vassal and enforcer! I have set you free from your imprisonment!" He said, shouting at the purple clouds.
"Technically, I freed them." Selena quietly said to herself.
"With all you set free! You will rule the world like you did before! I humbly request to continue to be your servants. I would like to be your new Underlord." He said, giving a bow.
Coming from the purple cloud, a special beam came out of it and hit Kazyr's body. Kazyr smiled for the beam was giving him a huge amount of power. He looked down at his fist felt such great dark power flowing in his body that felt totally invincible. A blue aura then pops out from his power, wanting to see a bit of his new powers that his masters gave him.
Selena finally got back up to her feet with her sword ready in hand. "Not if I have anything to say about it! Haaa!" Selena yelled charging towards the purple cloud with her sword.
Out of nowhere another hand popped out from the purple cloud and quickly pointed its hand at Selena and zapped her with lightning. Selena was taken by surprise and was zapped away from the purple clouds.
The female hedgehog gritted her teeth as she looked over to see Kazyr having some of the purple clouds surrounding him. He looked at Selena with a taunting grin as he waved goodbye.
"I love to stick and chat, but me and my masters gotta start making plans for world domination. You know, the simple villain stuff. I guess this is what happens when you accept a quest from a random old man from a diner." Kazyr said, shrugging his shoulders to mock the female hedgehog.
In an explosion, Kazyr and his three masters disappeared from Selena's sight as she coughed heavily. Selena looked all over the place to see any sight of them but gave up seeing them completely gone and started to worry realizing what she had done.
"Oh no…" Selena said, putting her sword away.
"Now I really biffed it."
End of Flashback
"So umm..yeah….that's what happened, hehe." Selena said, chuckling innocently at Sonic and his friends
Sonic and his friends were speechless by Selena's story who was just whistling and looking away from them, waiting for a response. Most of them don't know what they say after hearing such a story until Sonic stepped up with a frown.
"How could you like this to happen?" Sonic said, angry at his twin sister.
"Hey! I was tricked, okay? How was I supposed to know that the old man was actually an evil sorcerer in disguise? It's not every day we see magic being used in this world you know!" Selena shot back.
"Huh, huh, huh, huh, huh...cool…he said Boomba huh huh huh." Honey chuckled immaturely remembering what Bean called Selena.
Sonic couldn't help pinch his forehead in frustration of his twin sister's action, but at the same time he can't be entirely angry with her. Selena looked at her twin brother with an annoyed look as she tapped her foot and with her hands on her hips.
"So are you gonna help her, Sonic?" Honey asked.
Sonic looked over at his twin sister who was giving him the cutest puppy doll look she could give. Her emerald eyes sparkled as she pouted her lips as best as she could. It wasn't affecting Sonic the slightest but it was affecting Tails and Knuckles as they felt their heart flutter in such cuteness.
"Just say yes Sonic! My heart can't take this much beauty from her!" Knuckles yelled at Sonic while trying to keep his heart calm.
The male hedgehog looked away with his arms folded to think for a moment. He gave a frustrated moan before looking back at his twin sister. "Fine, I'll help." He said to her in a somewhat unhappy tone.
A big happy gleaming smile appeared on Selena as she gleefully cheered. She dashed towards her twin brother and hugged him. "Oh thank you Sonic! With your help I know we can beat these bad buys!" She said, press the cheek of her face against Sonic's face in a very cute manner.
"Yeah yeah yeah, whatever. Just be lucky I'm helping you because we're family." Sonic said, annoyed.
Sonic looked at Tails, Honey, and Knuckles. "So do you guys wanna help Selena and…"
"Yes!" Knuckles quickly answered before Sonic could finish his sentence.
Everyone looked at the echidna who was blushing heavily at his sudden outburst. "I mean of course, it would be an honor to fight alongside you Selena." He said, smirking at the female hedgehog to look cool.
Tails then looked at Sonic and Selena, "Count me in. We can take the Tornado to get to our destination faster together." Tails said, smiling and nodding.
Honey smirks and forms a fist with her hand. "Well if these bad guys are worth fighting. I don't want to miss the chance." She said, getting pumped.
Sonic smiled seeing that his friends are always willing to help and Selena was happy about it as well. "To be honest, I was actually hoping we could relax another day or two after our previous adventure with Blaze, but oh well. Adventure never waits." Sonic said, smiling, for it wasn't too much of a bother for him.
Selena then started walking towards the door of Sonic's home and opened it. "Come on, an adventure is waiting for us outside the door." She said, getting more excited as Sonic and the others were making their way out.
Selena looked outside and gave one big yell that echoed the sky. Sonic couldn't help but nod his head while Tails, Honey, and Knuckles smiled as they cheered alongside Selena.
"Wake up sunshine! Here we go!"

(A/N): No, don't worry it's not an April Fool's joke, but I am here to make you smile and laugh. Today I bring to all a full adaptation of Sister Sonic. For those of you that don't know, Sister Sonic was originally gonna be a spin off game to the Sonic series starring Sonic's sister for the Sega CD. It was basically just gonna be a reskin of an already existing game called Popful Mail. Much like Doki Doki Panic and Super Mario Bros 2 USA for comparison. There's more to it, which I recommend looking up 'Did You Know Gaming' for they made a video about its existence.
To make a long story short, Sister Sonic was canceled because the Japanese Sega fans didn't want a Sonic version of Popful Mail. And we got just the regular version instead in Japan and North America. Can you imagine if Sister Sonic actually became a thing? Just how much of the Sonic lore would change in the games?
Now this story is based off the Sega CD version of Popful Mail since it was the only one ever released in North America. Believe it or not they're like four other ports of this game all of which had different plots and level designs for the different consoles they were on. In total, there are five, but I guess with this story you can jokingly call this the sixth port as the Sonic version hahaha.
While it is an adaptation of the Sega CD version of Popful Mail. I would say this story follows 50% of the original story while the other 50% I put in my own scenes and plot points as you can tell in the first chapter. I did it like that so both groups of people who played Popful Mail can enjoy it and those that haven't (Which is a good percentage of you reading this.) can enjoy the story without knowing the game's plot. There's more I want to say but I will save that at the end of the last chapter.

Happy 30th Anniversary to Popful Mail!
Today on April 1, Popful Mail on the Sega CD was released back on April 1, 1994 making its 30th anniversary today. I'm celebrating the Japanese release date of the game. It's also another reason why I wanted to do this story. It's such a fun game. I really recommend playing it.
