It's now the third month of Izuku's training. So far I have recently stumbled upon free time. Actually, it's only because I did most of my schoolwork ahead of time. So I'm currently trying to train my quirk. Walking back home from school I asked Akari and Youta if they would help me experiment with my quirk. Akari objected to this.
"Please. I need two people to test this on. And don't you think it would be more dangerous if it was only the two of us," I pressed my hand together and pleaded.
"Why don't you ask Izuku? I'm sure he could make time for your experiment," said Akari. "And why did you agree to it, Youta."
"Huh… Umm. I didn't have anything to do. So I thought I could get some training done while helping Akumi," said Youta scratching the back of his head.
"If you two have time to go off and train you should also have time to study. Don't forget that you also need brainpower," said Akari.
"But we don't have any upcoming tests any time soon. And don't you want to explore your quirk more," I say.
"We need to follow the law. You want to be a pro hero, not a vigilante. If you get in trouble too many times then becoming a hero will be off your list of careers forever," Akari argues.
"That's more reason for you to be there with us. You need to keep us two in check. In case we go too out of hand testing our quirks," I tried to convince her.
Akari sighs in frustration, "Fine. If I'm not there then you might do something crazy. Especially you Youta." Akari stops walking and grabs her left arm with her right hand looking down, "You need to not use your quirk so much. I still get scared every time you use it."
"Hey, don't worry about it so much. I have more control over it now so something like that won't ever happen again," assured Youta.
"And I don't know how much help I would be, but I will be there this time even if that happens," I added.
Akari looks up with a smile on her face now, "That doesn't help at all, but… I appreciate the gestures." Akari runs ahead of us, "Follow me. I know the perfect place so that we don't get caught when experimenting with your quirk."
"Alright," I shout in joy. We followed Akari and she led us to a fenced-off area to the same tree forest area when we all became friends. The fence was now repaired though.
"Where is it…" Akari mutters and I notice she is straining her eyes with her quirk activated, "Ah, there it is. Through here."
"But that's just-" Akari pushed against the fence gate and it easily opened up which stunned me. "How did you do that?"
"They might have made it look like it was fixed but they didn't bother fixing it that well to the ground," said Akari, now on the other side holding it open. "Now hurry up we might get seen."
We quickly got through to the other side and followed Akari deeper into the forest. "So why do you just so happen to know that there was just an easy way into this place," I asked.
"I sometimes come here to reflect. But I heard they might be clearing this area down for some sort of building. I didn't look too much into it since even if they don't do anything to this place I would be moving."
"Wait, you're moving? When," I asked.
"A good couple of months from now. I probably won't have time to be with you guys as much during the next few months since I have to be with my sister for a lot of things that I don't want to say." Akari was frowning, "I was planning to tell you guys this but I guess I forgot."
"Really? You never forget these types of things. You weren't planning on waiting until the last minute to tell us, did you," Youta said and Akari chuckled.
"Knowing you, Akari, you didn't want to say goodbye right," I said and she nodded her head in agreement. "Well if that's the case let's make these last few months together the best months we ever had!"
"Wait a minute. How long exactly do we have? And how often can you hang out with us? And where exactly are you moving to," asked Youta.
"I'm not sure. I don't even know how often I can stay with you guys, but four months from now I and my sister will be moving somewhere."
"That's really nothing to go off of," Youta crossed his arms and closed his eyes and it looked like he was thinking of something.
"I also have a question. Why does your sister need you," I asked.
"It's a complicated old family tradition. I don't want to get into it," she says.
"Ah, I just thought of something. Instead of moving. Why don't you stay at my place? There's plenty of room."
Didn't you hear? It's a family thing. She can't just simply run away from it. Thought it would be nice if she could," I say.
"Yeah, but if she doesn't want it then she doesn't have to move," said Youta.
"Ok, enough about me. Didn't Akumi have some sort of experiment to do," Akari interrupted.
"Right, right. I forgot about that," I say.
"So what did you need us for," Akari asked.
I looked at the sky through the branches and leaves and the sun was getting low, "Hmmm. If we do everything I wanted then it's going to get late. The sun is going down soon so let's just do one thing and get out of here."
Youta and Akari looked up at the sky then Youta said, "Yeah, your right, but what are we doing."
"Simple really. Since we've been talking about moving I think I want to test how far my emotion absorption can reach." I walk to a tree a couple of meters away from the two, "Youta. Go over there to that tree."
Youta walks over to the tree I pointed to. "Ok, now what!" Youta shouts.
"Just wait! I want to try absorbing your emotions from here!"
"Ummm. What do I do," Akari asked.
"You stay there too." I raised my right arm in front of me and closed my eyes to focus on trying to absorb emotions from Youta, "Youta do you feel any different," I shouted at him.
"Yeah. But it's more like I don't feel something anymore," he shouts back.
Then after he said that I felt sad and conflicted. It was all focused on the fact that Akari will be leaving. I was supposed to see if I could give the emotion to Akari, but this emotion she would probably have too much of it already so I raised my right arm above my head and released the emotion pointed into the sky.
"So was something supposed to happen to me," asked Akari.
"I think we're done for today... I don't think the emotions we have now are good for my health," I laugh.
"Really. We still have a little bit of time. Why not try something else," said Akari.
"I would but I'm not in the mood for it after what I just did," I say as I walk back to Akari. "Youta! You can come back now," I shout at him.
Youta got back to us, "So did you accomplish what you wanted to do?"
"Yeah. Somewhat," I say.
"You liar. It was because of me you didn't want to do that one thing right," said Akari.
"I don't know what you're talking about," I say then start whistling.
"I know when people lie Akumi. Also, whistling. All signs of a lie being told. At least you're not trying to hide it."
"That obvious, ouch… Well, let's get out of here before it gets dark again," I say and scratch the back of my head.
"Why does it seem like every time we meet here we're going to have some sort of problem with Akari," said Youta.
"This is the place I go to think about things. You didn't forget that right," said Akari.
"No, I didn't. It's just… Nevermind it's nothing. Just making a statement that shouldn't have been made," Youta sighed.
"Wait, guys! I know just the thing to get our minds off of this," I say and they looked at me. "We should have a study session at Akari's place."
"Huh! Why a study session! And why my place," Akari exclaimed.
"Yeah, don't you like, hate studying or something," Youta added.
"Well, Akari suggested studying and Akari always seems to be studying so why not study with her while we still can," I say.
"So it takes me moving somewhere for you to actually study." Akari sighs then laugh, "At least there's something good out of this."
"Agreed," nodded Youta with his arms crossed.
"Oh, come on. I study. Just not the type of studying you guys are thinking of," I say.
"And what kind of study do you do," asked Akari.
"That's my secret. But let's get out of here already, before it gets dark."
We then headed back to Akari's apartment. We also asked Izuku if he wanted to join us and he did since he had to study anyway. We didn't mention Akari moving to Izuku but I think he could tell something was a bit off while we were studying. When the sun was nearly down Youta decided it was time for him to go back home.
"Well then, let's call it a night," I say.
"You were waiting for any chance to leave. I don't even need my quirk. It's written all over your face," said Akari.
I laugh, "See you tomorrow Akari."
"Yeah see you guys tomorrow," Akari waved us goodbye as Izuku, Youta, and I left her apartment.
"I guess I'll be seeing you two later also," said Youta as he walked away.
"Wait, I have something to talk about with you. Also Izuku you're included," I say. "But here is not a good place, let's go down. I walked down and out of the building and Izuku and Youta followed. It was dark and the street lights were lit.
"So what did you want to talk about," asked Youta.
"Let's fill in Izuku about what we know first," I look at Izuku. "So Izuku. Akari is moving in four months."
"Huh. Akari is moving? Where," Izuku asked.
"We don't know where. She also said she doesn't know where," I say.
"So why do you need me here? You just wanted to tell him Akari was moving right," said Youta.
"That and I want to try and throw together a surprise farewell party for her. It's tough enough trying to surprise her with anything since she could at any moment use her quirk and see that we are up to something," I crossed my arms in frustration.
"Yeah, you're right," said Izuku with a hand on his chin.
"I think I have a plan," Youta said.
"Really what is it," I say.
"Just leave everything to me. I'll tell you two all about it before we do it."
"But why? Wouldn't it be better if we knew it now and not at the last moment," I say.
"No. If all three of us knew about it. Akari would surely find out what we might be doing," said Izuku. "I just hope whatever you're going to do Youta. That it's nothing too difficult. I still have my training but I'll put it off for one day if I have to."
"Don't worry, it won't interrupt your training. But do prepare a gift. Our deadline is four months from now. Don't forget."
"Like we could ever," I say.
"Welp. It seems like I need to do some work now. I'll be looking forward to that day then," said Youta.
Izuku and I waved Youta goodbye as he walked off to the station. Izuku and I then headed back into the building to our apartment. Passing Akari's apartment, I stare at the door thinking if I should stay over tonight or not. Izuku tried to say that I should. I ultimately chose to not sleep over because Akari would probably see that something was up since the conversation we had with Youta was so recent. We got into our apartment and I headed straight to my room to sleep. I don't have a lot of things I could do with Akari but within the next four months before she leaves. I want to make great memories that will last.
