"Did you miss me?" Kano smiled softly.

To say that the water bender looked great would be an understatement. She wore a sleeveless blue dress. Her black hair flown down to her shoulders. Kano wore another silver nose ring, this time on her left nostril. Her lips blazed in red. She also wore a light amount of make-up. Aang thought she was pretty last time he saw her, but now she looked beautiful in his eyes.

He stood up and embraced her. Kano quickly returned the gesture and wrapped her arms around him.

"I'll take that as a yes" Kano giggled. Aang pulled himself back and looked at her.

"Well of course I missed you." He grinned, "are you my date tonight?"

She nodded, "I just happen to see the advertisement when the girls and I arrived here a few days ago. Figured it would be easier to find you like this instead of scouring the city looking for you."

"Smart idea", they let go of each other and he gestured for her to take the seat across from him, "So how have you been lately? It's been months since we last saw each other."

"I've been amazing. Thanks to the scrolls you gave me, I was able to finally master my water bending." Kano proudly stated.

"Wow! I'm so happy for you Kano! Guess I'll have to start referring to you as Master Kano. " Aang gleefully said.

"You can still call me by just my name. You were my Sifu after all and I wouldn't be able to become a master if you didn't help me."

"Oh, come on. I didn't do much, that was all you" Aang responded.

"You gave me the proper guidance I needed. You're one heck of a teacher."

"Well if you say so. How are Sato and Suna?"

"They're fine. They've come a long way with their earth bending as well. They were happy to hear that you and your earth bending sensei were here too."

"That reminds me. I already talked to Toph about taking them on as students and she said she would give them a chance."

'Awesome! I'll be sure to let them know later."

The waiter came by and took their order. Kano decided she wanted the fried rice and Aang chose the vegetarian noodles. Over the wait, the two caught each other up on what they had done since the last time they saw each other.

"So you saw her again right? Katara?" Kano asked.

"Yeah…Things got complicated between us but we're fine now." Aang responded then decided to change the subject, "So do you have any plans for what you and the girls are going to do here in the city?"

"As of now nothing yet, other than checking out the tourist spots." Kano shrugged.

"Then maybe you and I can do some water bending sparring when you're free."

"I'd like to do that. Just so you know I won't hold back against you" Kano replied with a sly smile.

"As your Sifu, I wouldn't want it any other way" Aang chuckled. The waiter finally came by with their orders and the two went on with their evening.

Back at the house, Katara walked out to the backyard where Suki stood as she finished her nightly training session. It was only just the two of them since Sokka and Toph had decided they wanted to go out and find some takeout food to bring back home. After seeing how affectionate Suki was with Aang, Katara began forming her own suspicions about the Kyoshi warrior. She didn't normally jump to conclusions but with how Suki had acted with her about confessing her feelings to Aang…It just didn't feel right to her. If Suki was hiding something then Katara would find out what it was no matter what.

"We need to talk" Katara stated, crossing her arms. Her cold tone didn't go unnoticed. Suki turned her head to look behind her and saw Katara looking at her with an even colder expression. Her eyebrow arched up as she turned her body to face her.

"Okay? What do you wanna talk about?" Suki wondered. She made sure to tuck her fans in her pockets.

"You and Aang" Katara narrowed her eyes as she stepped up to Suki.

"What about us?" Suki's eyebrows furrowed.

"I saw how you sent him off on his date. I didn't realize you two were so close with each other."

This time Suki narrowed her eyes, "What are you trying to imply Katara?"

"I'm sure you know exactly what I'm implying Suki" The water bender crossed her arms.

"Starting to think all that time you spent with Zuko in the fire nation might have melted your brain." Suki scoffed.

"I know what I saw. Don't even think about lying to me" Katara spat.

"There is nothing for me to lie about. So I kissed Aang's cheek, so what? That doesn't mean I have feelings for him and in case you forgot…my boyfriend is your brother."

Katara pointed a finger at her, "For all I know you could just be stringing Sokka along until you find someone better. That someone being Aang. I can't think of any other reason why you would make sure I wouldn't tell Aang how I felt about him now"

"EXCUSE ME! HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE ME OF SUCH A THING?!" Suki yelled. She felt herself boiling with rage .

"So why be so affectionate with Aang then?" Katara retorted.

"I do it because I care for him Katara. Aang is my family too. How I act with him is none of your concern after what you did to him!" Suki snapped back. Her words had made the water bender flinch.

"I—" Suki pointed a finger at her.

"Just because you finally realized that you're in love with him doesn't mean you can make such baseless accusations against me. You're practically accusing me of being a floozy when you're the one that led Aang on and broke his heart!"

Katara's eyes widened and without thinking, she pushed Suki, "I did not lead him on!"

Suki stepped back up to Katara and got in her face. "Then what do you call all those hugs and kisses you gave him? I already know about the times you two kissed and you lying about being confused because you were already secretly dating Zuko. Zuko, the guy you were the last person to forgive for all the crap he pulled."

"I-I-I…that wasn't wha-t-t I" Katara stuttered, shutting her eyes and balling her hands into fists as Suki continued her verbal onslaught.

"You knew how Aang felt about you and you went behind his back for Zuko!"

"SHUT UP!

POW!

Without thinking again, Katara struck Suki's face with her fist. The punch forced the Kyoshi Warrior to stumble before regaining her composure. Katara had surprised herself, but wasn't able to fully react as the other girl pounced her. Suki forced Katara on her back and cocked back her own fist.

POW!

She threw her fist against Katara's face. Before Katara could start water bending, Suki jabbed at her arms. When Ty Lee joined the Kyoshi warriors, she taught everyone how to chi-block and Suki was quick to learn.

Katara's arm remained flopped on the ground and all she could do was glare as she struggled under Suki's weight. Suki glared back down at her and pulled up the collar of Katara's tunic.

"YOU BROKE HIM KATARA!" She yelled, "HE LOVED YOU AND YOU BROKE HIM!"

Katara's glare had begun to soften as she saw the tears forming in Suki's eyes.

"You didn't see how hurt Aang was. You didn't see the tears he shed because of you! So excuse me if I want to protect him from getting hurt again because of you."

Katara watched Suki's tears flowing down her face. She hadn't expected her confrontation with the Kyoshi warrior to turn out this way. The feeling of guilt consumed her.

"I don't want to see Aang suffer. Not after everything he's been through in his life. Katara there is nothing more I want than for you and Aang to be happy together but he isn't in a good place for you to confess your feelings for him. Not after everything that has happened between you two. Not after everything you did to him!"

With that, Suki stood up from Katara's body, wiping her tears away and walked back towards the house. Katara stayed on the ground, contemplating on what had just happened.

"And the merchant was like screaming "MY CABBAGES" and we ran off" Kano finished her story about how her and her friends crashed through multiple carts of cabbages.

Aang wiped a tear from his eye after laughing so much, "That's hysterical!"

"I won't lie, I did feel really bad about it. So to make up for it, I came back wearing a disguise and bought a couple of his cabbages." the water bender giggled.

The two had gone on and on with stories of what they had been up to and were cracking each other up. They ate their meals and for the first time in a while for Aang, they ordered dessert. After eating, Aang suggested that they take a walk around the city. Kano was happy to do so. Aang had informed his carriage driver that he planned on walking home and told him to go on home.

They walked next to each other and decided to make a stop at a water fountain that was surrounded by lit candles which were hung up from a line. Kano jumped up on to the edge of the water fountain and balanced herself before taking steps around the fountain. Aang didn't jump on the edge with her and instead chose to walk alongside her on the ground.

"Gotta say, this date has been great…at least compared to other dates that I've been on." Kano spoke.

"What were your other dates like?" Aang wondered. Kano stopped walking on the fountain edge and turned her body towards him.

"Ugh", she scoffed, "super boring. Not a lot of guys know how to keep a conversation going without going on about themselves. I could tell that they just wanted to sleep with me. They were barely interested in getting to know me as a person."

"I can relate to that. Not a lot of the dates I went on had gone the way that I hoped." Aang responded as he clasped his hands on the back of his head.

"Really? How so?" Kano stepped down from the fountain edge and sat down.

"A lot of my dates were more interested in the Avatar than they were interested in me. Since a lot of them knew that I'm the last air bender, they jumped at the chance of bearing my children." Aang explained, his body shuddered as he remembered Nia and Rika. He hoped that he would never see them again.

"Wow. I'm sorry you had to deal with that" Kano replied with a sympathetic smile. Aang sat to her left and smiled back.

"It's alright. Some of the dates were fine."

"I hope you had as much as of good time as I did tonight." She sat down.

"Of course" Aang beamed at her, "This date would have to be my favorite out of all of them."

"I'm happy to hear that." Kano grinned. Aang felt a warm feeling rise in his chest as he gazed at the girl sitting next to him.

"You look beautiful" He said without thinking.

Both his and her eyes went wide after he said it. Kano's face flushed from his unexpected comment, but she smiled since she was happy to hear it.

"Thank you. You look pretty handsome yourself" she replied with half-lid eyes. Aang felt his heart skip a beat.

"T-thanks" he stammered and looked away feeling his face going hot.

'What's wrong with me? I know this is supposed to be a date but Kano is my friend…'

"Can I ask you something personal?" Kano asked. Aang turned back to her and nodded his head.

"Are you still in love with her?"

He already know who she meant. There was no question about it.

"…Yeah, I still am…"

Kano placed her hand on top of his.

"Do I still remind you of her?"

Aang recalled the last time they had seen each other all those months back. When they first met, three months passed since he left Katara and his friends in the fire nation. While he felt his pain easing, the wounds of his broken heart were still fresh. When he met Kano, thoughts of Katara surfaced within him. He couldn't help but think of how similar the two water benders were. Looking at Kano now, Aang realized that she differed from Katara. Kano was a lot more straight forward, humorous, and quick to fight when she felt threatened. When he was with her, Aang felt a sense of happiness.

Looks-wise, the air bender had to admit that he found Kano incredibly attractive. He knew that he wasn't the only one either. During their walk, Aang noticed from the corner of his eyes how other boys nearly broke their necks admiring Kano.

A lot had changed since they last saw each other and after reuniting with Katara once more, he found that Kano no longer reminded him of his first love. He twisted the hand Kano held and intertwined his fingers with hers.

"No, you don't." He told her with a small smile. Kano smiled back as her cheeks reddened again. They both looked up at the full moon shining bright in the dark of the night.

"It's getting late…" Kano muttered.

"It is.", Aang stood up with his hand still holding Kano's, "I'll walk you to your hotel."

"Or…I can walk you home" Kano countered as she stood up from the fountain edge.

"Isn't it suppose to be the guy that walks the girl home?" Aang chuckled.

"I don't see why we need to follow that rule. Plus I wouldn't be a good disciple if I didn't make sure my Sifu, who is technically over one hundred years old, got home safely" Kano grinned.

Aang laughed, "Well when you put it that way then I see no reason not to have you escort me home"

Kano wrapped her arms around Aang's and the two walked towards the Jasmine Dragon.

Suki sat on the edge of her bed and observed her reflection on her small mirror. She placed her hand on the bruise Katara had so kindly given her.

'Ugh…That girl can sure pack a punch' She pondered on how she would deal with it before Sokka came back with Toph. The two still had yet to come back from finding takeout food for all of them to eat. The last thing Suki wanted was for Sokka to know about what had occurred between her and his sister. The less drama, the better.

She heard a knock on her door frame and glanced back to see Katara standing there with a sheepish look on her face.

"What do you want now Katara?" Suki narrowed her eyes.

"I want to apologize…If you let me then I could heal that bruise" Katara replied nervously.

Suki sighed, "Fine, come on in."

Katara walked in and sat herself next to Suki. After opening her water skin, she bent the water on to Suki's bruise and started the healing process. Neither of them saying anything until Katara was finished. By the time Katara was done, the bruise had disappeared from Suki's face. After that, Katara bent the water back into her water skin and clasped her hands together.

"I'm sorry I accused you of stringing Sokka along for Aang. It was wrong of me to make the assumption that you would do such a thing."

Suki saw Katara trembling as she spoke. Her voice shaking.

"Y-you were only trying to hel-p him…after what I-I-I put h-h-im through." She choked a sob, tears fell from her eyes. Suki couldn't handle seeing Katara like this. Instinctively, she pulled Katara into her arms and held her tight.

"It's okay Katara" Suki tried soothing her by patting her back. Katara's head rested on her shoulder as she kept crying in Suki's arms.

"N-no it's not…I was scared to love Aang and I ended up hurt-ing hi-im. You were right, I broke him…I lashed out at you, Sokka, and Toph when you were only just trying to be there for Aang. You were always someone I could count on to be there for me as a friend…You're the closest thing I have to a big sister Suki…P-p-p-please don't hate me Suki. I'm sorry…I'm so sorry"

"Hey hey, I could never hate you Katara. I love you too much to ever hate you." Suki rocked Katara back and forth in her arms, "We'll always be sisters." She kissed the top of Katara's head. "I know you feel frustrated about not telling Aang about your feelings, but trust me when I tell you that it is for the best…for the both of you."

"I just regret it so much. I love him so much and I already put him through so much suffering. I just want to make it up for him you know?"

Suki stopped rocking and let Katara pull herself off her shoulder. She pulled her arms back and cupped Katara's face, using her thumbs to wipe away her tears.

"I understand Katara. I really do, but it's just not a good time for Aang.", Suki hesitated before speaking, "Last night…Aang had a particularly bad date."

"I overheard you two talking about it. Some girl named Mira right?"

Suki nodded, "yes, I won't go into details. She, like many of his dates, were just interested in his status as the Avatar and since he's the last air bender…she saw him more as an opportunity to become the mother of a new generation of air benders. She didn't care much for who he was or what he wanted."

"Oh" Katara knew how much it bothered Aang how people just saw him as the Avatar and only the avatar. She remembered how hesitant he was when he admitted to being the Avatar to her and Sokka. How he sometimes would wish that he wasn't the Avatar.

"He was…upset."

"I wish I never fell in love with Katara!"

"Believe me when I tell you that he's just not in a good place right now for you to tell him how you feel. It won't be good for him." Suki insisted.

"Okay…I promise to hold myself back…for now."

Suki pulled Katara back in for another hug.

"Remember that I'll always love you. That will never change."

"I love you too Suki. I'm so sorry." Katara whimpered and wrapped her arms right around Suki.

"You're forgiven Katara" Suki chuckled, "no more apologies now"

"Okay…" Katara sniffed.

"WHO IS READY FOR SOME CHOW MEIN?!" Sokka screeched throughout the house. Suki and Katara let go of each other. The Kyoshi warrior giggled at her boyfriend's eager enthusiasm while the water bender rolled eyes.

"Honestly Suki, just what do you see in him?"

"I'd tell you but I doubt you'd want to hear me gushing over your brother." Suki giggled as they stood up from her bed, "Let's not keep your brother and Toph waiting too long. Sokka doesn't like waiting to eat."

"Bold of you to assume he hasn't ate on the way back here"

They both laughed as they walked out of Suki's room and headed towards the dining area.

"Wow! This has got to be the most fancy tea shop I have ever seen!" Kano remarked once they reached their destination.

"You should definitely try out Iroh's tea when you get a chance. The man is a master at his craft." Aang replied.

"Then I'll be sure to bring the girls with me back here"

The two of them stood at the entrance and turned to each other.

"I had a really good time with you Kano." Aang spoke first with a lopsided grin.

"Me too! This would have to be the best date I've been on in like…ever for me. I'm happy I got to spend time with you again." Kano smiled.

Unbeknownst to them, the other occupants of the house were watching them from the window and were peeking though the curtains. Toph had sensed Aang walking back after they had ate their dinner. The four of them huddled against each other trying to get a look at Aang's current date and listen in on their conversation.

"So does Aang always bring a date back home like this?" Sokka asked.

"No, this would have to be a first" Suki answered.

"Will you guys quit moving so much! I can't see" Katara complained.

"I can't see anything, but you don't hear me crying about it Sweetness" Toph retorted.

"Shush children, I can't hear anything" Iroh spoke up.

"I'm surprised you're actually interested in seeing this Iroh" Toph chuckled.

"I may be old but that does not mean I'm not curious about the girl Aang brought here" Iroh replied. They all finally got a decent look at Aang and the girl he was with.

"Whoa she's…" Sokka started.

"Hot…" Suki finished.

"Real descriptive guys. Anyone wanna give the blind girl any details?" Toph asked, feeling irritated. Iroh filled her in. "Water tribe huh? Guess sugar queen has some competition."

"Shut it Toph!" Katara smacked Toph's shoulder.

"Don't hit me!" The earth bender hit Katara back. They started pushing each other and ended up dragging Suki and Sokka into it.

"Will you girls just quit it already?!" Sokka cried out when Katara pushed Toph on to him. He pushed Toph away which led to her pushing him to Suki who pushed him back. All of them but Iroh pushed against each other until Sokka accidentally pulled the curtain, bringing it down on all of them. They all began to argue with one another until Iroh called out to them.

"Uhhh, children" he said to them. They pulled the curtain off of them and saw Iroh pointed towards the window. They all turned their heads to find Aang standing on the other side, arms crossed, watching them with an unamused expression on his face. To his left side, stood the water tribe girl who looked surprised at what she was seeing.

"Seriously?" He muttered.

They all feigned innocent smiles while Sokka quickly reattached the curtain and covered the window, cutting off Aang's view of them. The water tribe warrior turned to the girls and Iroh.

"Run!"

They all scattered towards their rooms and shut their doors. They knew better than to deal with an annoyed Avatar. Even if it was still Aang.

"I'm gonna guess that those are your friends" Kano spoke after the others made their dash.

"Yeah, that's them. Although I don't know why they're running. Not really much of a point considering we're staying in the same house." Aang replied and turned away from the window, looking at her.

"Sorry about that" He apologized.

"Don't be. Sato and Suna would have done the same had you walked me back to my hotel room" Kano waved off.

"Is that why you wanted to walk me home?" Aang giggled.

"Partly the reason" Kano grinned.

"Would you like to come in for tea? I'm sure Iroh wouldn't mind making some for us." Aang suggested

"I'd love to, but it's already late and I should head back to the hotel. Luckily, it's close by so I'll get there soon." Kano stifled a yawn.

"If you say so", Aang put his fingers to his mouth and blew a whistle. Just then Momo came flying by from the stables Appa was resting. The lemur instantly recognized Kano's scent and landed on her shoulder.

"Hi Momo!" she greeted him as she pet the top of his head. She looked back to Aang with a puzzled expression, "I'm glad to see him again, but why did you call him?"

"I want him to go with you back to the hotel." He turned to Momo, "Momo, go with Kano so she isn't alone. Come back to me once she's in the building. I'll have some berries ready for you as a reward."

The lemur chattered, indicating that he understood what Aang told him.

"Aang, that isn't necessary. I can take care of myself. Need I remind you that I'm a master water bender now?" Kano said.

"I do know. I just want be sure you made it to your room safely. It's more for my sake if I'm being honest."

"Well I guess it wouldn't hurt having Momo as my walking companion" She smiled back at Momo then looked back to Aang, "Have a good night Aang."

"Wait" he said as she started to turn away. He started rubbing the back of his neck.

"What's up?" Kano wondered.

"I was…thinking that…maybe… we can do this again. Go on another date?"

She could see his cheeks start to go red. Kano realized what he meant and felt herself starting bubble up.

"Of course!" She replied, hoping she didn't sound too eager. Aang walked up to her and grabbed her hand.

"King Kuei is having a celebration at the palace in a couple of days. Would you like to be my date for it?" Aang asked.

"Oh my gosh! Yes!" She bounced up and down in excitement, "I've never been to a royal party before."

"First time for everything. I'll let you know what the plan will be once I go over it with my friends." Aang smiled.

"Great. I can't wait to go out with you again!"

Aang let go of her hand so that she could be on her way. Before turning away, Kano cupped his face with her hands and pressing her lips against the arrow on his head. His heart skipping a beat at the gesture and he felt his face flush. Finally, Kano let go of him.

"Good night Aang"

"Good night Kano" Aang waved.

Kano turned around, holding Momo in her arms and walked away from the Jasmine dragon tea shop. Aang watched her leave until he could no longer see her. He let go a deep sigh of relief and smiled as he went inside the house.

From her window, Katara watched them. She had heard everything. She stepped back from the window and flopped face first on to her bed. She stifled a sob. She didn't want anyone to hear her crying again. Her heart cried out for Aang. She desperately wanted to reveal the news of her break up with Zuko and tell him how she truly felt for him. She promised Suki that she would hold off on telling Aang, but she wasn't sure for how long. She clenched her blankets and groaned inwardly.

'Aang…'
