A couple of weeks later, Skye was in the kitchen with Nat. Nat was making eggs, and Skye was making oatmeal.

Tony came into the kitchen. "Morning."

"Good Morning," Nat said.

"Jeeze, you're annoyed," Skye said to Tony.

Tony looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"Sorry, I still can't help it," Skye said.

Tony nodded. "I know."

"Are you annoyed?" Nat asked.

"I am," Tony said.

"Why? Nat asked.

"It's not something I want to talk about right now," Tony said.

Nat nodded.

After breakfast, Tony pulled Steve into the office and handed him a manilla envelope.

Steve opened the envelope and took out two pictures of Skye. She was with a group of teenagers. It was late at night, and she was smoking.

"Look at the date in the corner. That's the night everyone was out. Skye was here with Morgan," Tony said.

Steve looked at the time stamp and shook his head. "Tony there is no way. Someone changed the time."

"I looked into the metadata of the photo. It's correct. I don't think she left Morgan alone, either. But I can't prove she was here. I looked at security cameras here. She put Morgan to bed and then went to her room. And she was there for the three hours until we came home. The time lines up perfectly," Tony said.

"How would she have gotten out of the compound without being caught? Tony, something is wrong here," Steve said.

"I don't like this any more than you do, Steve. I know Skye is a good kid. But she is a kid, and they make stupid choices," Tony said.

"Yes, and as much as it kills me to think it, I believe this is her. It's obviously her, but she wouldn't have left Morgan alone," Steve said.

Tony nodded. "Steve, like I said, I don't want to believe she would either. But we have to talk to her about this. These photos were delivered specifically to me through a delivery service. If it's not Skye, someone is screwing with her."

Steve nodded. He left the office and went to get Skye. He brought her into the office and closed the door.

Skye felt the tension when she stepped into the room and swallowed hard.

"Sit," Tony told her.

Skye sat, and the two men sat as well.

"Skye, I'm going to show you some pictures, and you need to give us the whole truth, no lies," Steve said.

Skye nodded. "Okay."

Steve handed her the pictures, and Skye looked at them eyes going wide. "I- that's not me. I don't understand."

"Skyler, don't lie. That is you," Steve said.

"I know it looks like me, but I haven't hung out with this group since the last time I was picked up by the police," Skye said.

"Skyler, that is proof you're lying," Tony said, indicating the pictures.

"Maybe they are old pictures," Skye said, her eyes welling with tears.

"That coat you're wearing is the one Thor got you in Asgard," Steve said.

"But I didn't do this," Skye said, tears streaming now.

"Skyler, look at the pictures. It's you," Steve said.

"But I didn't do this," Skye said again, getting upset.

"Has there been any time that you lost time?" Tony asked. "That you have no memories?"

Skye thought. "I don't think so."

She looked at the date in the corner. "I don't remember what I was doing that day."

"At that time, and, yes, I verified with the metadata, was when you were babysitting Morgan," Tony said.

"No. No! I did not leave Morgan alone," Skye said quickly as she started to panic.

"I believe you, Skye, take a breath," Steve said gently.

Skye tried to but couldn't. "Please believe me, Uncle Tony," she sobbed out.

"Skye, I believe you. You need to take a breath," Tony repeated her father's request.

Skye slowly took a deep breath.

"Again," Steve said.

Skye did so again.

"Good," Steve said.

"I promise you, I would never leave Morgan alone," Skye said.

"I believe you," Tony said. "I'm going to figure this out."

Skye nodded and looked at her dad. "And I wouldn't hang out with his group again. I don't want to end up in jail."

Steve opened his arms, and Skye went over and sunk into a hug.

"I do believe you," Steve said.

"Maybe if I go talk to one of them, they can explain," Skye said.

"No," Steve said. "You let Tony and me handle it."

Skye let out a breath.

"Skyler, I mean it. You let us handle it," Steve said.

"Okay," Skye said.

Steve let her go, and Skye looked at Tony.

"Come here kid," Tony said. Skye went over, and Tony gave her a hug.

"I didn't think you would leave Morgan alone," Tony said.

"You can look at the video surveillance. I was here," Skye said.

"I already did. And the time when this is you were in your room, with no camera," Tony said. "But again, I believe you didn't leave Morgan alone."

Skye nodded slightly. "You're sure?"

"Yes," Tony said. "Do you think any of these other kids would want to set you up?"

"I sold them out. A hundred percent, yes," Skye said. "But I don't know how they would have made someone look like me. I realize that these pictures are clear as day looks like me. If I didn't know better, I'd think it was me."

Tony nodded. "And you have not hung out with any of them since that night your dad picked you up from the police station?"

"Not once. I didn't even realize they were out of jail. I guess it makes sense since Tucker is, but I didn't put it together," Skye said.

Tony nodded. "Okay. Like your dad said, leave it to us."

Skye nodded. "I will."

"Don't even mention it to Tucker," Steve said.

Skye let out a breath and nodded. "I don't like that idea, but okay."

"You don't want to put him in the middle. He is on probation. He gets involved, he will go back to jail," Steve said.

Skye nodded.

"And the way that boy looks at you, he would get involved," Tony said.

Skye smiled.

Steve sighed.

"Why aren't you letting them date?" Tony asked.

"Because she's too young," Steve said.

Tony shook his head.

"Would you let Morgan date at fourteen?" Steve asked.

"This isn't about Morgan," Tony said.

Skye giggled.

"Skye, go find something to do," Steve said.

Skye left the office and went to the living room, flopping on the couch and turning on a movie.
