Zipp and Shirai were on the ground as both didn't move for quite a while. They showed their portraits on the screens, all greyed out as the word, Draw flashed on the screen for all to see.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this duel has ended in a draw!" said Luna over the mic.
Murmurs began as both sides wondered what was to follow this. Zipp groaned as she began to stir and put her hands close to her face to push up. The heiress saw Shirai starting to slowly sit up as she looked at the screen and saw her portrait join Pipp's as they were eliminated.
"No," said the girl as she couldn't believe it.
JD was shown rushing to Shirai's aid as he put the girl's arm over his shoulder and brought her to their side. Flurry and the rest approached the pair as JD brought the girl to sit on the bench.
"You good?" asked Flurry, bending a knee to check on her teammate.
"Yeah, I've taken worst," Shirai said as Flurry held her forehead. "I did my job, Cap. I took her out, though… I wish it didn't cost me everything."
"You did your job. That's what matters," smiled Flurry as she turned to look at Zipp, who was starting to stand up. "It looks like your wish of facing me has gone up in smoke." Flurry smiled after saying that to herself, as the heiress wouldn't be continuing on.
While Zipp may not have heard what was directed at her from Flurry, the smile on her face, with her portrait being greyed out, told the whole story. The heiress' wish to get at the girl wouldn't come true anytime soon. Zipp had no choice but to hang her head in shame as she walked to her side.
The others saw the heiress approaching them as she clutched her left shoulder.
"You did well, Zipp!"
"Yeah, real good job!"
"Thanks, Sunny. Izzy," said the heiress before letting out a depressed sigh. "I really thought I could wire to wire. I thought… I could get to her. But I couldn't even get past the first round."
"Cheer up. We're still in this," said Roll, trying to lift Zipp's spirits.
"Would the next duelist from each team please make your way to the field?" said Cadance over the mic.
"Alright, Sunny. What's the plan?" asked Hitch to his best friend.
"Phin, status report!" said Athena.
"Right," said the girl as she played with the goggles on her head before addressing her team. "Plan A and B are already out. So Plan C is next."
"No!" said Flurry as it got the others to look at her. "We're doing plan H."
"What?" Phin said, not expecting her friend to choose that plan. "Flurry, that's the contingency plan."
"Exactly. They won't expect it. Look, we can afford to take that risk. We're playing with house money. My cousins, they're desperate. And when you're desperate, you make some reckless decisions. You make last-ditch efforts. So we exploit that and use it against them. Now, JD… I know you want to get out there, but you're gonna have to wait a little bit longer."
"Whatever you say, Flures," said the boy.
"Phin… you know who they're gonna send out. You know it."
The girl merely made a face as she knew all too well who CHS would pick.
"This is your chance," said Flurry.
"I'll send that hippie back to whatever forest she crawled out of. Maybe then she'll think twice about ever coming here again!" said Phin as her personal animosity began to emerge.
"Do it!" smiled Flurry.
"Izzy, are you good to go?" Sunny asked as she had chosen the girl to play for them next.
"All set! Got my lucky friendship bracelet to scare away all the jinxes. And I got my lucky quartz crystal given to me by my beloved granny Moonbow. Did I ever tell you that it has spiritual powers that can chase away…"
"Izzy!" shouted Mario as he didn't like the girl going on one of her weird tangents about some weird stuff she believed.
"Oh, right. Gotta go out there. Wish me luck, everyone!" said Izzy with a carefree smile as she skipped onto the field.
"Gees, she's stupid," muttered Mario as he couldn't with Izzy's character.
Izzy was still humming as she skipped onto the field and met with Phin. The Crystal Prep girl lifted her goggles to see her opponent as she growled. Izzy pulled out her lucky quartz crystal before kissing it and saying some words to get rid of any bad vibes before putting it in her pocket.
"You really are a joke!"
"Hmm."
"You're nothing but a walking joke! Let me guess, was that another piece of garbage you try to pass on as art?" asked Phin as she strapped on her duel disk and projected an amber-colored card tray. "I'm gonna send you back to the junkyard where you belong. That way, you can rot with all the other junk you call art!"
Izzy just changed her expression as she lifted her duel disk to slot her deck in. The girl's device projected a blue card tray as both artists looked to do battle.
"Here we go again, Aj! You want to know why you aren't World Champion!" said Isaac as he was on a video call as Aj was doing an interview.
"Sugarcube, why don't you shut the hell up for once and stop actin' like you know me, because these past few months, you ain't known a damn thing about me!" yelled the country gal as she shot up from her chair to glare at the screen of her friend/rival.
"You'd been ridin' high these past nine months as World Champion. You don't know what it's like to see others pass you by and go on to better things while you're stuck behind because nobody will give you the time of day. You don't know what it's like to hit rock bottom and work your way back to get a top spot. But once I beat you, you will. I'll make sure of that. I'm gonna knock you off yer high horse and watch you fall all the way down. And then… then we'll see how good yer moral compass is. This ain't the Aj you knew back in high school, sugarcube. This ain't the Aj who was fine playing second fiddle to you so you could have all the success and attention because you were the main character of this story. This ain't the same Aj who let you walk over to get to the top. I'm the Aj who's gonna break you! I'm the one who's gonna send you home to be Twilight so you can live out the rest of your days with her peacefully. And she's gonna thank me because I'm doing her a favor by sending her husband home… into an early retirement."
"Super Showdown, it's gonna be a fight. Biggest PLE of the year. I'm no stranger to the big time… but you are. This is your first main event at such a grand event like this. Me… I've done this my whole life. I am ready, Aj. And you want to know what the difference is between me and you. While I win… all you do is bitch!"
Aj felt a sense of anger rush over her after hearing that as she bawled her fists.
"And after I win, you're gonna have a whole lot to bitch about!"
"Sugar, you want to be seen as the perfect champion. But trust me, there ain't no perfect champion, not even the great Prince Isaac. I've got a whole four months of pent-up rage inside of me. And at Super Showdown, I'm gonna let it all out."
The World Champion watched the video and reviewed the segment of him and Aj from last night. The World Champion stood by every word he said last night to his friend/rival, as he could tell that at Super Showdown, the biggest PLE event of the year and quite possibly one of the biggest main event matches to take place at that event, was going to be a fight—a brawl, even.
Isaac sighed as he pushed himself away from the desk and spun around in his chair. The World Champ came to the bed; there was Juniper, sitting on it with her laptop resting on her knees. The agent saw her client as she reviewed their schedule for the next week.
"Need anything?" asked Juniper as she looked over her laptop.
"I wish," responded Isaac as he sat on the edge of the bed and placed his arms on his knees.
I'm gonna send you home into an early retirement for Twilight.
"The next duel will be Ms. Phin taking on Ms. Moonbow!" said Cadance.
Phin's Life Points: 8000-
Izzy's Life Points: 8000-
The pair drew their opening hand as their portraits appeared. Phin's portrait lit up as she was given the opening move.
Turn 1: Phin (Hand 5)
"Time to show you what a true master builder can do, hippie!" shouted Phin as she drew. "I summon Gold Gadget(1700/800)!" As it popped out, a small gold gadget appeared, arms and legs. "And like every good gadget, they have some cool functions. Thanks to my monster's ability, I can summon one Level 4 Machine monster from my hand. So I summon Silver Gadget(1500/1000)!" Another round gadget appeared as it was colored silver and popped out its limbs. "And like Gold Gadget, Silver Gadget's ability allows me to summon a Level 4 Machine-type monster from my hand."
"Gees, how many abilities will she activate?" said Zipp, as it was only her first turn.
"I summon Morphtronic Boomboxen(1200/400)! But I'm not stopping there because I then activate this spell, Morphotronic Replacement. It's simple: I trade in my monster for a different one in my deck. And I get to draw one card. So I'll get rid of my Boomboxen to get Morphtronic Clocken(600/1100) in defense mode!"
A digital alarm clock appeared before it began to transform. It had arms and legs, and the top two bells popped up to reveal flashing red eyes. "Next, I activate Morphtronic Clocken's ability. While in defense mode, I can place a 'Morph' counter on it." The clock's face changed its time to match that of one.
"What does it do?" asked Izzy, concerned about the number appearing.
"Oh, you'll see, hippie. For now… I place one card facedown and end my turn!"
Turn 2: Izzy (Hand 5)
"My turn then," stated Izzy as she drew and looked at her opening hand. "I'll start by summoning my Scrap Raptor(1400/1000)! Thanks to its ability, I'm allowed an additional summon this turn. But before that, I'm using its second ability to target and destroy it!" Izzy's dino-like monster rusted away and turned into a metal pile of scrap.
"I just can't figure out how Mario can stand being around a stupid idiot like you!" shouted Phin. "Hey, hippie! Do you need me to bring you a lighter so you can get some brain cells working, huh?!"
"Thanks, but I'm good!" said Izzy, not letting Phin's remarks get to her too badly. "Especially because when my Raptor is destroyed, its final effect takes hold. Allow me to add my field spell, Scrap Factory, to my hand. Then, I'll play it!"
The entire field began to take shape as a factory rose behind Izzy. The girl stood before her giant building in a junkyard with tons of piles around her. Steam and smog were let out from the top, as in the windows, and furnaces were shown emitting heat. A large conveyor belt ran from one side of the building to the other, and several cranes were shown dumping piles of junk onto the belt.
"You seem to be right at home!" mocked Phin, where Izzy chose to surround herself.
"Laugh all you want. But I'm not done. Because with the additional summon from my Raptor, I'm summoning Scrap Kong(2000/1000)!" A junk-like gorilla appeared with a chainsaw for one hand and a claw for the other. It made a mechanical sound as it pounded the ground like an animal. "And when I normal summon my Scrap Kong, his ability destroys him!" The gorilla rusted and fell into pieces of metal. At that moment, Izzy's factory whistled as several claw arms began to grab the pile.
"Looking to make an art sculpture!" said Phin.
"Right on," smirked Izzy. "Now several things happen. First, since a 'Scrap' effect destroyed my Scrap Kong and sent it to the graveyard, I can add a 'Scrap' monster from my graveyard to my hand. So, I'm taking back my Scrap Raptor. Then, my factory's ability kicks in. Since a 'Scrap' monster was destroyed by a 'Scrap' effect and sent to the graveyard, I can replace that monster with a different one from my deck. So I summon Scrap Golem(2300/1400)!" A giant fan appeared coming out of a huge pile. Izzy's monster, whose body was a refrigerator, appeared with some steam leaking out of the small pockets in its limbs. It looked down at the Crystal Prep girl and her small monsters.
"Not only that, my Scrap Factory gives all my 'Scrap' monsters an extra 200 points to both stats!" stated Izzy as her golem released a sound from the powerup it received. "And then I activate my Golem's effect. Once per turn, I can summon a Level 4 or lower 'Scrap' monster from my graveyard. So my Scrap Kong is back!" Once more, Izzy's junk gorilla appeared as it pounded its chest.
"See that! I can activate as many abilities as you."
"Please," scoffed Phin, not impressed by Izzy's combo.
"Well, how about this? Scrap Golem, attack her Gold Gadget!"
"Don't think so! I activate my trap, Metalhold the Moving Blockade!" shouted Phin as she touched her duel screen to activate her trap. The ground rumbled as a giant robot with two sphere slots in its chest emerged. Gold Gadget and Silver Gadget changed into their sphere mode and were placed inside the two slots as they powered up the giant robot.
"My robot is gonna make your golem look like a tin can!" yelled Phin. "Thanks to the power of this trap, it gains its total attack power by equipping both of my gadgets with it. So it has 3200 attack points. Furthermore, you can't attack any of my monsters except him. And the same goes for any card effects!"
Izzy looked up at the robot as its circuits came online. Its red eye scanned the girl before labeling her the enemy. The robot let out a sound as it began to prepare its cannons to blast the teen away.
"This is what a real robot looks like, hippie! Not your poor excuse for a household appliance! Look at it!" shouted Phin.
"I like him!" said Izzy as she admitted that the giant robot was a sight to behold.
"So… are you gonna continue to attack?!" asked the Crystal Prep girl.
"I set two cards facedown and end my turn."
Turn 3: Phin (Hand 2)
"My move! Now, I activate my Clocken's ability once more. So I put another counter on it!" stated the Crystal Prep girl as the face of the clock went up to two. "Next, I'm summoning Morphtronic Datatron(1200/600)!" A flash drive appeared before it began to transform as limbs popped out, and the top revealed a set of eyes for the machine. "I then use Datatron's ability. While in attack mode, I can tribute one monster I control to deal you 600 points of damage. So I sacrifice my Clocken!" Phin's monster became an energy beam, going into her comrade before it was fired at Izzy, who covered up.
Izzy's Life Points: 7400-
"Oh, and there's more. Remember the counters my Clocken had! Well, it's time for his second effect to kick in. See, if I tribute it while it has counters, you take 1000 points of damage for each one!"
"That's not good!" said Sunny.
"Here's 2000 points of damage, hippie!" yelled Phin as two more energy beams blasted Izzy, who covered up.
Izzy's Life Points: 5400-
"I'm not through with you yet, hippie! Metalhold! Load and fire your cannons. Take aim at her Scrap Golem!" shouted the Crystal Prep teen as the two railguns appeared on its shoulder and set their sights on Izzy's monster. They powered up and fired a steady beam of attack as it pierced the golem before it began to break apart and fall to pieces, with Izzy being taken off her feet and sent crashing to the floor hard.
Izzy's Life Points: 4700-
"Izzy!" yelled Zipp at her friend being bashed around like a pinball.
"That's a lot of damage!" Pipp said, amazed at how much Phin had dwindled her Life Points.
"This is what a real architect looks like! I lay out the blueprints and execute my designs to their perfection! I planned out my strategy and see them through!" shouted Phin as Izzy was getting to her hands and knees. "I don't pass junk off as art to make everybody feel sorry for me. I please them with my talents, not pity! You're stupid, hippie! Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid!"
"Wow, I've never seen this side of Phin before. I like it," smiled Flurry as she enjoyed her friend's intensity.
"It seems Izzy has awakened her killer instinct. Not that I blame her," said Axiom as the rest of the group cackled at Izzy's stupidity.
"Talk about harsh!" said Zipp, not liking that someone called her friend stupid.
Izzy took in what Phin said about her as she tried not to let it get to her. But… it was hard. The girl did her mental exercises to push the negativity away and not let Phin see the tears starting to build up. The teen managed to get her feelings checked as she stood up and looked at her rival.
"Take your pathetic turn, hippie!" growled Phin.
Turn 4: Izzy (Hand 3)
Izzy raised her hand to put it on her deck. The girl hesitated as she could feel her feelings of hurt starting to return as they were stopping her from drawing.
Don't let them see you be weak, Izzy. If you show even the slightest amount of weakness in front of your opponent, they will take advantage of it. No matter what, never let them see how you truly feel.
The girl turned her head ever so slightly to glance at Mario. She recalled the small advice he gave her when rebuilding her deck, as he knew Izzy was vulnerable regarding her feelings. Taking his advice to heart, the girl put on a disguised expression to not let Phin see her shed tears and humiliate her some more.
"It's my move, I draw! I summon my Junk Anchor(0/0)!" A small robot appeared, made of tin cans with a giant screen on its head that served as its eye. "Then I activate my Junk Anchor's ability. By sending one card in my hand to the graveyard, I can target one non-tuner 'Junk' monster in my graveyard and revive it. So my Scrap Golem is back! And there's more: Junk Anchor can substitute for any 'Synchron' tuner monster. So now… I tune my Junk Anchor with my Scrap Golem!" Izzy's tiny robot turned into two giant green rings that circled her giant monster as a yellow light surged.
"The spirits merge to form the arrow that pierces the sky! I Synchro Summon! Ready your bow, Junk Archer(2300/2000)!" shouted Izzy as her metal archer appeared wielding its bow. "I then activate my Junk Archer's special ability. Once per turn, I can banish one monster you control until the end of the turn. So take aim, Junk Archer! Bullseye Banishing!"
Izzy's monster aimed its bow and pulled back on the string. As the monster released the bow, an arrow of light appeared. The arrow flew and landed on Phin's robot, which vanished in a sprinkle of showers.
"Now, Scrap Kong. Attack her Morphtronic Datatron!" shouted Izzy as her gorilla junk-like monster leaped into the air and came down, crushing the small drive under its claw.
Phin's Life Points: 7000-
"And now… Junk Archer! Attack her directly!" shouted Izzy as her monster pulled back its bow again, and an arrow appeared. He released the string as the arrow flew and pierced Phin straight through. The Crystal Prep girl fell to a knee as she growled upon seeing Izzy managing to land a hit on her.
Phin's Life Points: 4700-
"Nice one, Izzy!" shouted Pipp.
"She managed to tie it up!" said Hitch.
"That won't happen again!" growled Phin as she got up and let her anger take over. "You hear me, hippie! I'm making sure I put you in your place!"
"Bring it!" said Izzy, putting on a serious face. At that moment, Phin's robot appeared, eyeing Izzy and making its eyes even redder.
Turn 5: Phin (Hand 2)
"My move!" said the girl as she drew her card. "I summon my Gadget Gamer(300/300)! When I normal summon my monster, I can activate its ability. So, I add one Level 1 machine-type monster to my hand. And I choose my Morphtronic Celfon. Then I can tribute my Gadget Gamer to summon a 'Morphtronic' monster from my hand. So I summon Morphtronic Celfon(100/100)!" A yellow cell phone appeared in front of Phin. A sheen of light washed over it and broke apart, transforming it into a large yellow robot with bright pink eyes. The phone screen cracked down in the center and swung back, forming a pair of wings.
"In addition to that, Gadget Gamer allows me to summon Gadget Hauler(1300/0) from my deck!" stated Phin as a hauler truck rolled out before it began to transform as it turned into a cannon. "Next, I activate Celfon's ability. Once per turn, I can roll a die, and whatever the result is, I can reveal that many cards on the top of my deck and summon a Level 4 or lower Morphtronic monster among them." The girl snapped her fingers as her monster heard her command. "Go, Morphtronic Speed Dial!"
Celfron thrust out its chest, which comprised the top half of the phone form's dial pad. The numbers lit up in rapid sequence before stopping on '5'. The girl grabbed five cards from her deck and looked over them before smiling at Izzy.
"I'll bring out Morphtronic Remoten(300/1200)!" A white remote control for a video player appeared next to Celfon. The screen blipped to life to show a pair of eyes as arms and leg cords shot out of its sides. "Next, I'll use Remoten's ability. By banishing a Morphtronic monster in the graveyard, a Morphtronic with the same Level can be added from my deck to my hand. I'll eliminate Clocken to add Morphtronic Cameran!"
"Now, I tune my Level 3 Morphtronic Remoten with my Level 1 Morphtronic Celfon!" Morphtronic Remoten burst apart into three glowing green rings. The rings floated around Celfon and began to spin while Cameran glowed yellow. "I align the frequencies of my remote control and cell phone together and home in on the signal of high-tech earbuds!" She brought her arm back and raised her duel disk, her hand poised over the back of the device.
"I Synchro Summon! Come on out! Morphtronic Earfon(1200/1800) in defense mode!"
The rings around Cameran contracted and then exploded, revealing Phin's monster. A set of earbuds appeared before each one began to change and transform, revealing two humanoid robots, one male and the other female.
"Now, Metalhold, take aim at her Junk Archer!" stated Phin as she looked to blast the monster into pieces.
"I reveal my facedown, Scrap-Iron Scarecrow!" stated Izzy as her facedown flipped up. "Thanks to this trap, I can negate your attack!" A small scarecrow made of junk pieces appeared as it tanked the shot from Phin's robot before it was flipped back down. "And instead of going to the graveyard, I can set this card back down to use again later."
"You can't hide forever behind your trap, hippie!" shouted Phin, "I place one card facedown and end my turn."
Turn 6: Izzy (Hand 2)
"It's my turn. Since I control a 'Scrap' monster, I can summon my Scrap Orthos(1700/1100)!" A junk-like two-headed dog appeared as it let out some barks. "When it's summoned this way, I can select one 'Scrap' monster I control and destroy it. So I choose my Scrap Kong." Izzy's gorilla became a pile of junk metal as the claws picked it up and put it on the conveyor belt.
"Now my factory's effect kicks in, so I can replace my Scrap Kong with a different monster from my deck. And I choose my Scrap Shark(2300/0)!" From the factory came a metal shark as it jumped into one of the nearby piles of junk before its head appeared. "I now tune my Scrap Orthos with my Scrap Shark!" Izzy's two-headed dog changed into four giant green rings circling her shark as a yellow light surged. "I Synchro Summon! Rise, my metal beast! Scrap Dragon(2800/2000)!" From above, a shadow flashed. It soon revealed a giant mechanical monster as steam was released from the pipes. A roar was heard as Izzy's metal-winged beast appeared.
"Next, I'm using Junk Archer's ability once more to banish your Metalhold until the end of the turn!" stated Izzy as her monster fired an arrow, making Phin's robot vanish. "Now, Scrap Dragon, attack her Gadget Hauler!" The girl's beast began to have its gears rotate as it steam shot out from its nostrils as it prepared to launch its attack.
"I activate my facedown, Morphtronic Bind! Thanks to this continuous trap card, since I control a 'Morphtronic' monster, all Level 4 or higher monsters you control can't attack or change their battle positions!" stated Phin as her card emitted a grid barrier that protected her field as Izzy's dragon misfired its attack.
"That's not a good thing," remarked Izzy, noting how difficult the duel had just become.
"I'm not stupid like you, hippie! I'm not falling for the same trick twice!" Phin said. So, anything else?"
Izzy looked at her hand before looking at her field. It was safe to say that the girl had nothing else to do this turn.
"Nothing. I end my turn," said Izzy as Phin's robot reappeared.
Turn 7: Phin (Hand 2)
"My move!" stated the Crystal Prep teen. "It's time to get rid of your archer. But first, I'll banish my Morphtronic Remoten from my graveyard to special summon Morphtronic Smartfon(100/100)." A slim smartphone materialized in Phin's line of monsters and snapped apart, the pieces within unfolding to form hands and feet. The top of the phone popped up, revealing a slim pair of red eyes. "I'll then activate Smartfon's effect. Once per turn, I can roll a die, and whatever the result is, I can reveal that many cards on the top of my deck and add a 'Morphtronic' card to my hand. Go, Morphtronic Messenger!" Smartfon's screen on its chest began cycling through numbers as it stopped on three. Phin looked through the top three cards of her deck before making her choice.
"I'll add my Junk Box to my hand. Following that… I'll tune my Morphtronic Smartfon with my Gadget Hauler!" Smartfon became a giant green ring that rose and lowered over Gadget Hauler as a yellow light surged. "I align the frequencies of my smartphone and truck together and home in on the signal of a mechanical powerhouse!" The metal condensed around Gadget Hauler and lit up. "I Synchro Summon! Get ready to meet a monster with some major motor! Take flight, Power Tool Dragon(2300/2500)!" The metal shell shattered, revealing a large, gold, mechanical dragon with silver plates of metal running down its back to its tail. Its right arm was an electrical screwdriver bit with a large shovel claw. Red eyes flashed to life, and it flew over the field, circling behind Izzy to return to Phin and alight beside her.
"Next, I equip my Morphtronic Earfon onto my Power Tool Dragon. I then activate Power Tool Dragon's special ability. Once per turn, I can take three Equip Spell cards from my deck. Then you randomly pick one of them, and it gets added to my hand." Phin reached to her duel disk's screen and tapped through the display. The holograms of three cards appeared in the air over the girl's head. "Make your choice, hippie!"
Izzy looked at the three cards in a line before her as she contemplated which one to pick.
"Um, okay, let's see here. I could pick that one, but then again, if I choose that I…"
"Here! I'll make it easier for your dumbass!" shouted Phin. "All three are copies of the same card! So it doesn't matter what you choose, idiot!"
"Can she do that?" asked Zipp.
"No rule that it said that it could be the same card," said Roll as Phin executed a smart play on her part.
"Since they're all the same, you don't have to decide to spare your brain cells!" stated Phin as she took her card. "I'll then play the card, Rocket Pilder! Now… Power Tool Dragon. Attack her Junk Archer!"
"Why is she doing that? They both have the same attack points," said Pipp.
"Thanks to my Rocket Pilder equip spell card, my Power Tool Dragon can't be destroyed in battle."
Both monsters clashed as they met in the middle and had a standoff. A few moments later, an explosion occurred as Izzy's monster was gone, while only Power Tool Dragon remained.
"Now that your archer is gone, you can't banish any more of my monsters. But if you think your trap will keep you safe, think again!" said Phin. "I end my turn."
Turn 8: Izzy (Hand 2)
"It's my move now," said Izzy as she drew her card. The girl looked at Phin's field as she collected her thoughts.
I still have to remove that Metalhold before I can attack her other monsters. Her Morphtronic Bind makes it so my monsters can't attack, but that's only if she has a Morphtronic monster out. And she doesn't right now since she attached her Earfon to her Power Tool Dragon, which I don't know why she did that. But it can't be anything good. So, right now, I need to attack while I have the chance.
"I activate my spell card, One for One. So, by discarding one card from my hand, I can bring out a Level 1 monster from my deck. So say hello to my Tuningware(100/300). Then I summon my Jet Synchron(500/0)! Next… I tune all three of my monsters together!" Izzy's small jet-like monster became a solid giant green ring circling its comrades as a yellow light surged. "One and two weren't good enough. So prepare to feel the wrath of this mechanical triple threat! I Synchro Summon! Atomic Scrap Dragon(3200/2400)!" Thunder boomed as everyone looked to the sky. A shadow appeared as six eyes flashed, and a roar was heard. The shadow disappeared as it revealed Izzy's most powerful dragon and all three heads made a fierce sound.
"There we go, Iz!" shouted Zipp.
"Now, thanks to Tuningware's special ability, I get to draw a card when it's used to synchro summon. And Jet Synchron's ability allows me to add a 'Junk' monster when I use it to synchro summon. Then, since you control a Level 5 or higher monster, I can summon my Junk Giant(2000/2400) in defense mode!" A large robot made of junk parts appeared as it made the ground shake.
"Now it's time to get rid of that Metalhold!" Izzy's three-headed beast heard the girl's command as it began to flap its wings to lift into the air.
Phin's robot looked up at the monster as all three heads began to power up and fired a tri-attack beam. Metalhold had its cannons aimed at the dragon and fired its own attack to counter. The two attacks met in the middle, creating a light show for all to see. The two monsters stood their ground as Izzy's monster added more power behind its attacks and managed to start pushing back. Seconds later, Metalhold was bombarded by the tri-attack as it exploded and destroyed the two gadgets inside. Phin covered up as she fell to the floor after seeing her monster be destroyed.
Phin's Life Points: 4500-
"I end my turn," smiled Izzy.
Turn 9: Phin (Hand 4)
The Crystal Prep girl got to her feet as she growled. Phin looked at Izzy as she reached up to her goggles and pulled them down over her eyes.
"I'm done with this shit! I'm ending you right here right now, hippie!" yelled the teen as she drew. "I play Morphtronic Accelerator! I can destroy one card on the field by returning a 'Morphtronic' card from my hand to my deck. And I choose your Scare-Iron Scarecrow!" Izzy's card flipped up before it shattered to pieces.
"Then I draw a card. I activate Power Tool Dragon's ability! So I'm taking three Equip Spell cards, and you pick which one to add to my hand. But don't bother choosing, hippie! Because I'm rigging it so that all three are the same! So why don't we skip it and I'll show you what I picked! I play the equip spell, Double Tool C&D! With this spell, I boost my Power Tool Dragon by 1000 attack points! Now… attack Atomic Scrap Dragon!"
"What's she doing?!" asked Axiom as they questioned Phin's plan of attack. Flurry just held a straight face as she watched her friend's actions.
"Remember, thanks to my Rocker Pilder, my Power Tool Dragon can't be destroyed in battle!"
"But you still take damage since your monster is weaker than mine!" said Izzy as her dragon fired its tri-attack. It pushed the dragon back and hit the floor hard, making Phin flinch.
Phin's Life Points: 4400-
"Now, the other effect of my Rocker Pilder activates. The monster it battled loses attack points equal to my Power Tool Dragon!"
"That's why she attacked!" said Roll.
"Izzy's in danger!" said Sunny as they watched Izzy's dragon lose almost all of its strength.
"And remember, my Earfon is still attached to my Power Tool Dragon. So it's time to introduce its other effect. The monster it's attached to can attack twice! And then… I play Limiter Removal! This quick-play spell lets me double the attack points of my Power Tool Dragon, but it's destroyed at the end of the turn. But it's so worth it to beat you!" yelled Phin as her anger boiled over and made her look intense, even with her goggles.
"Izzy's screwed! She can't defend herself!" said Zipp as Power Tool Dragon grew stronger.
Izzy looked at the machine as the lighting flashed, and the monster became a nightmare. Its red eyes peered into her soul as if to claim it. The girl was overcome with sudden fear as Phin looked to punish her.
"Power Tool Dragon! Put this fake artist where she belongs! With the rest of her pathetic junk!" yelled Phin at the top of her lungs.
"Izzy!" yelled Sunny.
Power Tool Dragon opened its mouth as it glowed with immense power. It didn't hold back as it fired a powerful beam. Izzy could only watch on as the attack was shown in her pupil. A flash occurred before Izzy was shown being pelted by the attack and flung backward.
"You're stupid, hippie! Stupid, stupid, stupid, STUPID!" yelled Phin as her attack made contact as it echoed.
Izzy hit the ground hard as he let out a painful cry before tumbling and landing on her side.
Izzy's Life Points: 0-
Winner: Phin
"The winner is Ms. Phin of Crystal Prep."
The girl dropped to her knees as she breathed heavily. Her eyes were kept on Izzy as the CHS teen began to move. Izzy got up on her side and touched her head as she ached. Phin's words echoed in her head as they registered in the girl's mind. Izzy merely put her head in shame at not only the loss but also what the Crystal Prep girl said to her.
You're stupid, hippie! Stupid, stupid, stupid, STUPID!
Author's Note: Well, it seems Flurry has started to change gears given her cousins' involvement. And right now, it has allowed Crystal Prep to swing the momentum back to their side. It's like she said, they're playing with house money while her cousins and their friends are the ones who are in desperate need of a win after suffering back to back losses. And it's sad that Izzy not only lose but did get chewed out during that last attack by Phin for calling her stupid, but rest assured, this is building up to something bigger for her. Now... the ball's in Sunny's court for her to figure out who she's sending in next.
