Jane & Maura
Jane and Maura's two daughters, Sophia and Lisa were getting ready for their respective days.
Sophia, Maura and Jane's eldest daughter, was lacing up her sneakers, ready for her soccer game, and next to Sophia, her sister Lisa, their second daughter, was sitting on the couch, a biology book open on her knees, while discussing the latest fashion trends with Maura and the young girl was excited to accompany her mother to a science exhibition.
Jane walked into the living room and Maura got up went to her wife and Jane said looking at her daughters and after giving Maura a light kiss on the lips Jane said:
« It's amazing, isn't it? Sophia is passionate about sports and is not interested in fashion, just like me, while Lisa is passionate about fashion and science, just like you. Yet you gave birth to Sophia and I gave birth to Lisa. It's as if…I don't know…it's as if my DNA had come to put itself in Sophia and yours in Lisa »
Maura smiled and said
« Yes, it's quite surprising. You would think Sophia would be like me and Lisa like you but they chose their own path »
Jane laughed softly and said
« Yes, it's true and I wouldn't change it for anything. »
They looked at each other, a smile on their faces. They were proud of their daughters and the family they had built together.
Jane accompanied Sophia to her match and Maura accompanied by Lisa went to see the science exhibition.
Later, Maura and Lisa joined Jane and Sophia who were waiting for them at a café and Sophia happily said to Maura
« Mama! We won 3-0! I scored 2 goals and made an assist! We're qualified for the final, mama! And I was named the best player of the match! »
Maura smiled and hugged her daughter and said
« Really ? But it's wonderful my angel! I am very proud of you. You have to tell me on the day of your final, that the whole family will be there »
Lisa, just as happy, said to her mother after congratulating her big sister:
« Ma! I loved the science exhibition. I asked lots of questions and thanks to mama, i'm going to take part in a science competition"
Jane smiled and hugged her daughter and said
« Well done, big girl! You will succeed with flying colors! You are as smart as your mama! »
One day, when Jane went to the workout and yoga room that Maura had set up when she and Jane became a couple, Jane saw Sophia doing push-ups on the floor of the room and Jane was surprised said :
« Sophia, what are you doing? »
Sophia got up, out of breath and said
« I'm training for my final, Ma. I want to be the best in the final »
Jane smiled, proud of her daughter's determination and said
« That's good, Sophia. You know what ? We're going to train together. »
Meanwhile, in Lisa's room, Maura was helping her daughter choose an outfit for her science competition that she was entering and which was going to take place shortly after. Lisa was anxious and said to her mother:
« Mama, is it normal for me to be so anxious? »
Maura reassured her and said smiling
« That's your Rizzoli side, but you'll never be as anxious as your mother was when she proposed to me. »
Was Ma nervous when she proposed to you?
Yes, she kept rubbing her scars against her knees and twisting her curls around her right index finger and then at the start of one of our family Sunday lunches, she proposed to me and I accepted.
Didn't you notice anything mama?
Your uncle Frankie, your mother and I were working on a complicated investigation at the time and we were very busy and your mother always acts like this when an investigation requires a lot of thought but don't worry Lisa! You are going to win this competition, you are the best. If you want, we'll do yoga together and it will take away his anxiety. »
Lisa smiled at her mother and said
« I like doing yoga with you mama. I love you. »
2 weeks later, there was a party at Jane and Maura's house bringing together the entire Rizzoli family because Sophia's team had won its final and Sophia had scored the winning goal and Lisa had won her science competition and Sophia said to his family:
« Thanks to our victory, our entire team will go to DC and we will meet the President of the United States and the First Lady"
Everyone warmly congratulated Sophia then Lisa said:
« Since I won my science competition, I will go to the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution to visit it and I will see astronauts »
Lisa was also warmly congratulated and Jane said, looking tenderly at her wife:
« Our daughters are incredible. »
Maura smiled and said:
« Yes, they are and I am so proud of them"
Jane smiled and said:
« And I don't think they've finished surprising us »
And so, life continued in Jane and Maura's house, full of surprises and happiness.
