Rising Storms
A Harry Potter and Percy Jackson crossover
Part 2
Chapter 6:
Harry
After a long Harry's dad, the newlyweds grabbed the bags that they had taken on their honeymoon, and Daphne held onto Harry's arm as Harry pulled out the Potter Artefact. He looked at his dad, briefly. "We'll be back as soon as we can."
"Okay, son." James smiled sad, but proud. He glanced at a nearby portrait where Lily was visiting. Lily looked worried. James turned back to Harry and Daphne. "Be careful, you two."
"We will," Harry said. He smiled at his parents before activating the artefact. A portal appeared, and the two stepped through. It closed behind them and they were stepping out onto a snow-covered hill next to a tall pine tree. "Huh, so I was right. September in our world is December here," Harry said, looking around.
"How do you know it's not late November or even January here?" Daphne asked wryly.
"Well, I don't know for sure, but I have a feeling." Harry smiled at her before seeing a figure walking to them from the right. It looked like he had come from nowhere and then walked closer to them. Harry tried to place the figure before it hit him. "Chiron? Is that you?"
The figure got closer and the blurriness around him faded. The centaur smiled down at Harry. "Harry, how nice to see you! How have you been in the last four months? And who is this lovely lady?"
Harry smiled at Daphne as he introduced her. "This is Daphne, my wife. Daph, this is Chiron. He runs the camp for demigods to train and survive."
"Nice to meet you," Daphne said calmly, holding her hand out to Chiron. It was the hand that had been holding onto Harry's arm.
"Nice to meet you too, Milady." Chiron gently grasped her hand and bowed over it to kiss the air over her knuckles. He chuckled a little at her slight blush. "Come, we have much to discuss," he said, letting go of Daphne's hand. "And you didn't answer my first question, Harry."
Harry laughed as he put the artefact in his pocket and grabbed Daphne's hand. "I've been good these four months. We were planning our wedding for most of the time, but I did manage to find out who my godly ancestors are and any possible powers I have from them. I keep all of the research with me."
"Do you mind telling me?" Chiron asked as they stepped through the barrier and into Camp Halfblood.
Harry and Daphne were staring at all of the buildings around them... and the people milling about. "Wow," Harry said. He was impressed! Then he turned to look at Chiron. "Sure, I'll tell you when the three of us won't be overheard. It's a little overwhelming." He smiled at Chiron's confused face.
"Of course," Chiron said. "In the last four months, we have built a cabin for Lord Hades, and one for Lady Hestia, like Percy promised. We also got a lot more demigods in the last couple of months." They walked around the camp as Chiron gave them the tour. The demigods glanced over at Harry and Daphne as they passed, some of them waving at Harry when they recognized him.
"Harry!" cried out one boy.
Harry turned at the sound of his name and smiled at the other boy. "Nico, right?"
"Yeah." Nico smiled. "It's good to see you again."
"It's good to see you again, too." Harry smiled. "How have you been?"
Nico blushed slightly. "I've been well. I've been helping with the infirmary."
Harry smirked at the look on Nico's face and then looked past him at the blond that was staring at Nico. "Does that have to do with a certain blond boy that is staring at you?"
Nico whirled around, looking at Will who smiled back at him, and blushed heavily as he looked back at Harry. "Never mind that," Nico said flustered. He cleared his throat. "I heard that my father said you are descended from him?"
Harry nodded. "That's right. I guess that makes you my distant uncle?" The two boys made faces at that.
"Ugh, don't call me uncle," the younger boy said. "Let's just agree to be brothers?"
Harry laughed. "Deal. In that case, meet your new sister-in-law, Daphne Potter." He wrapped an arm around Daphne's shoulders.
"Nice to meet you," Nico said, smiling.
"Nice to meet you," Daphne replied. She smiled back at him.
Nico said, "Well, since we are related, you can stay with me in the Hades cabin while you are here. There are a few different rooms you can chose from."
"Thanks," Harry said, as they walked over to the cabin. "It's been a long day for us."
The next morning, Harry, Daphne, and Chiron were alone in Chiron's office. Harry took a deep breath and began to recount the tale of his godly lineage. "I've been doing some research," he started, "and I've discovered that I am a descendant of several powerful gods and goddesses."
Daphne nodded in agreement, her hand reaching out to intertwine with Harry's as they faced Chiron together. "We've learned that Harry's ancestors include Thanatos, Hades, Eros, Tyche, and Nemesis," she added, her voice soft but determined.
Chiron's eyes widened in surprise at the revelation, his brow furrowing in thought as he processed the information. "Thanatos, Hades, Eros, Tyche, and Nemesis," he repeated, his tone thoughtful. "A formidable lineage indeed."
Harry nodded, his gaze unwavering as he met Chiron's eyes. "I know it's a lot to take in," he admitted, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "But I believe that understanding my ancestry is the key to unlocking my true potential."
Chiron nodded in agreement, his expression grave but understanding. "Indeed, knowledge is power," he agreed, his gaze flicking between Harry and Daphne. "And with great power comes great responsibility."
With Harry's ancestry revealed, they had a lot to think about.
After absorbing the revelation of Harry's godly ancestry, Chiron leaned back in his chair, his expression contemplative. "There is something else you should know, Harry," he began, his tone grave yet measured. "A prophecy—one that foretells of a great quest involving seven demigods from rival camps."
Harry and Daphne exchanged a curious glance, their interest piqued by Chiron's words. "What prophecy?" Harry inquired, his voice tinged with anticipation.
Chiron nodded solemnly, his gaze fixed on a distant point as if peering into the mists of time. "The prophecy of seven speaks of a quest to save a goddess trapped in a cage," he explained, his voice carrying the weight of ages past. "It foretells of trials and tribulations, of danger and discovery. And it speaks of ascension—the journey from demigod to god."
Daphne's eyes widened in wonder at the mention of ascension, her mind racing with possibilities. "But who are the seven demigods?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Chiron's expression darkened slightly as he considered the question. "That is not yet clear," he admitted, his tone tinged with uncertainty. "But I believe the fates have chosen you, Harry, to play a pivotal role in this quest. And as the descendant of powerful gods, your destiny may hold the key to our success."
Harry shook his head. "Nope! I've had my prophecy! I just want to find Percy."
Chiron looked confused. "What do you mean?"
Daphne reached over to keep Harry in his chair. "There was a prophecy before he was born that there was a child with the power to defeat the dark lord would be born at the end of July. That child would be marked as the dark lord's equal, and would have power that the dark lord didn't know about."
Harry sighed, taking over to say the entire thing, word for word. "The one with the power to vanquish the dark lord approaches... Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... And the dark lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the dark lord knows not... And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... The one with the power to vanquish the dark lord will be born as the seventh month dies..." (This is J.K. Rowling's work.)
Chiron looked between the two teens. "Wow," he said, shocked. "That's a heavy burden for one so young."
"Don't your demigods ever have 'heavy burden' prophecies about them?" Daphne asked wryly.
Chiron nodded sadly. "True."
"So now you know why I don't want any part of another prophecy," Harry said. "I'm just going to try to find Percy."
"I don't blame you," Chiron replied. "But, if this prophecy does include you like I think, then you can't run away from it."
Harry frowned and stood up, helping Daphne to her feet. He didn't say anything, but his feelings were made clear. Harry and Daphne stepped outside and walked around in silence as they reflected on the talk with Chiron. What did all of this mean? And what did it have to do with Percy's disappearance? Harry looked around at the demigods milling about. There were a lot of people there that Harry didn't know. He hadn't met them during the battle. And there were three demigods that Harry hadn't even seen before. They were standing next to Annabeth... and so Harry led Daphne over there. "Hey, Annabeth, we didn't see you yesterday when we arrived."
Annabeth looked up. "Hey, Harry. I just got back. I was out searching for Percy and ended up bringing three new demigods to camp. Harry, this is Jason Grace, Leo Valdez, and Piper McLean." She turned back to the new demigods. "Guys, this is Harry Potter. He helped us fight Kronos four months ago."
"Hi," Harry said. When they replied, Harry introduced Daphne. "This is my wife, Daphne."
"Your wife?!"
"You got married?"
"How old are you, then?"
"Oh, man! Just my luck."
Harry looked from Piper, to Annabeth, to Jason, then to Leo as they spoke. Then he started laughing, glancing at Daphne's smirk, before he answered their questions. "Yes, my wife. We got married a week ago, and we were on our honeymoon when we got the note from Grover about Percy's disappearance. We're eighteen." His green eyes landed on Leo. "Don't even try it." He smiled.
Daphne swatted Harry's shoulder. "Don't mind him," she told the others. "We also came to search for Percy. Where were you going to check next?"
"Arizona and California," Annabeth replied promptly.
Harry nodded, rubbing his shoulder. "We'll go search those two states before we head back. We've got another wedding to attend to in about five or six months." He winked at Daphne who rolled her eyes and smiled wryly.
"What do you mean you have to attend to another wedding," Annabeth asked.
Daphne glanced at her. "Where we come from, it's normal for Polyamourous relationships, including marriages." She looked at Harry in question, and he nodded. Looking back at Annabeth, she continued with, "Harry told me that you saw him in action at the battle with Kronos? Those lights during the fight were spells. Harry is a wizard and I am a witch. Normally, we'd not be allowed to tell you about magic, but not only are you demigods and have powers of your own... you are also in a different world where our Ministry can't reach you."
"This is crazy," Jason said, running a hand through his hair. "I believe you, but this is crazy." Leo and Piper nodded frantically.
Harry laughed. "Imagine how I felt when I learned that the gods were real and that we were coming to help protect Olympus." He shook his head. "We'll stay for the rest of the month, and then we need to go search for Percy."
Daphne spoke up. "We'll search for two months before we update you on our progress and head back."
...
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the vast expanse of the Arizona desert, Harry and Daphne stood side by side, scanning the barren landscape for any sign of their missing friend, Percy Jackson. It had been two long months of relentless searching, traversing through Arizona and California, following every lead and rumor, but all to no avail.
"I don't understand, Harry," Daphne said, her voice tinged with frustration. "We've searched everywhere, but there's no trace of Percy. Where could he be?"
Harry sighed heavily, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "I wish I knew, Daphne. It's like he's vanished without a trace. But we can't give up hope just yet. We'll keep searching."
They had been determined to find Percy, knowing that his sudden disappearance was cause for concern. But despite their best efforts, they had come up empty-handed, each passing day only adding to their sense of urgency.
Returning to Camp Half-Blood, Harry and Daphne made their way to the familiar surroundings of the demigod haven. Annabeth, Clarisse, and Chiron were waiting for them, their expressions a mix of hope and apprehension.
"We're back," Harry announced, his voice heavy with disappointment. "But we didn't find Percy. There's no sign of him anywhere."
Annabeth's face fell, her eyes clouded with worry. "I was afraid of this," she murmured. "But we can't lose hope. Percy's out there somewhere, and we'll find him."
Clarisse clenched her fists, her jaw set in determination. "We'll keep searching until we bring him home," she declared, her voice steely with resolve.
Chiron regarded them all with a wise gaze, his expression somber. "Percy is a resilient young man. I have faith that he will find his way back to us. But in the meantime, we must focus on the task at hand."
Harry nodded in agreement, knowing that their quest was far from over. But as they turned their attention to the looming prophecy of seven, Harry couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered in the air.
"We need a ship," Leo declared, his voice ringing out across the camp as he worked tirelessly on his latest creation. "A grand vessel to carry us on our quest." He showed the group his designs when they walked over.
But Harry had a different idea. Stepping forward, he suggested, "Maybe we should consider something smaller. Something more maneuverable. It might be easier to navigate through tight spaces and narrow passages."
Leo raised an eyebrow, considering Harry's suggestion. "You may have a point there, Harry," he conceded. "A smaller ship could prove to be more practical, especially if we encounter any obstacles along the way."
"Just, let others help you work on it. If you don't let others help, then you'll burn yourself out."
With their plans for the quest beginning to take shape, Harry and Daphne knew that their time at Camp Half-Blood was drawing to a close. As they bid farewell to their friends, old and new, their hearts heavy with the uncertainty of Percy's fate, they knew that their journey was far from over.
But as they made their way back to their own world, Harry and Daphne held onto the hope that they would one day be reunited with Harry's friend, Percy Jackson.
