The Blind Side of Love

Chapter 27:

Classrooms & Spa

Bella

It was a hot summer day as Edward, Jasper, and I walked into our classrooms ready to start preparing them for the upcoming school year. We were surprised to learn that Jasper had applied for the middle school history teacher position and had been hired at the same school as Edward and I. After accepting the position Edward and I talked with the principal Mrs. Stevens, and asked her if we could come to prepare our classrooms early. We explained to her that we were getting married on the 13th of August and would be on our honeymoon for the rest of the month. I didn't know any extra details. I just told her the tidbit of information Edward had given me.

Teachers came back in the last week of August to get their rooms ready, but since we were new we were going to be taking some training and professional development workshops part of those days. Plus, we also wanted Edward to get acquainted with his classroom beforehand. This was a new setting and I knew he was excited but very, very nervous. Students would start school on the 3rd of September. I was glad she let us do this just because the wedding had been set prior to getting the job. Edward and I didn't think we would get hired so fast to be honest. I'm grateful for the opportunity we've been given.

As we entered, we were greeted with the familiar smell of books, but it was a bit weird to be at an empty school. I smiled in excitement. I still couldn't believe we were all teachers at the same school and were excited to start decorating and organizing our classrooms. Alice had also come with us to help out.

Edward

I relied on my other senses to navigate through the slight unfamiliar. I could hear the sound of Bella's footsteps as she walked beside me. I smiled, knowing she was there to help me. I never thought I would be here, when I applied to college my plan was to compose music for plays or movies. I'd even planned to maybe compose some music and make a piano album.

I never thought I would go into teaching, but I am glad I added this minor to my major. I am also glad for the opportunity Mrs. Stevens gave me. People with disabilities don't get opportunities like this one often, I am not going to waste this chance. I really hoped that this worked out. I still couldn't wrap my head around the fact that Bella is my fiancée and we're getting married in just a few weeks. We are so excited to start our new life together. I love the time we have been given at the house to get completely acquainted with each other and find a routine that works for us.

"Hey guys!" Alice chirped as she entered the classroom. "Ready to make these classrooms look amazing?"

"Definitely," Bella replied.

"I can't wait to see how everything turns out."

We went to my classroom first, "this is not bad at all, Edward," Bella commented.

"Some of the things that are already on the walls you can keep, maybe we can change them to a different wall. It will look great with the things you bought." She said, hugging my side.

Thankfully the previous teacher took her things out and did a deep clean and organization of the room. She left many things, but they were all useful. I'd bought some bulletin board paper, borders, and letters to decorate the walls. I was glad I followed Bella's advice when she said to wait and see what was actually in here so that I didn't buy any doubles or unnecessary posters.

We all worked together, putting up posters, arranging my desk area, and the students desks. We also spent some time organizing books and other supplies. Bella got to work laminating everything so that it would last. When she explained what that was I was appalled, I must admit technology is amazing. As we worked, we shared funny stories and jokes, making the atmosphere light and fun. We also talked about our expectations and what we hoped to learn and experience.

After half a day of work, the four of us decided to take a break and have lunch together. We ordered some pizza and other sides and sat outside in the shade.

As we ate, we talked about our plans for the double wedding. Alice and Bella were discussing the decorations and the color scheme, while Jasper and I were talking about our suits. We needed to go for the final fitting soon. We were all excited and couldn't wait for the big day.

"Have you guys thought about your honeymoon?" Jasper asked. "Edward is being cryptic about that. He only told me I would need my passport, so I already have that done," Bella replied.

"Funny thing Jasper is being cryptic about it too, we've discussed many places, so I don't know where we are going either." Alice exclaimed. We continued to talk and laugh, enjoying each other's company. After lunch, we went back inside to finish preparing our classrooms.

Bella

As we walked back into the building, we were greeted by three familiar faces: Esme, Renee, and Phil. They had come to help with the preparations, and were grateful for their support. I wanted to move some things around in the classroom to make a new layout. I also needed Phil to take down some posters and bulletin boards that were high on the wall. I also had some things I wanted him to put over the board.

"Thank you all for coming," Edward said, smiling. "We couldn't have done this without you."

"It's our pleasure," Esme replied, giving her children a warm hug.

The six of them worked together, and in no time, the classrooms were ready. They stood back and admired their hard work, feeling proud and accomplished. They took pictures and made plans for the next day, where they would finish the final touches.

As they left the school, they decided to go out for dinner to celebrate. They went to a nice restaurant and enjoyed a delicious meal. As the night came to an end, we all went our separate ways, feeling excited and happy for the upcoming school year and our weddings. No matter what challenges we faced, we had each other's love and support to get through it. The next week, we finished the final touches on our classrooms and made sure everything was perfect. We were all excited for the first day of school and couldn't wait to see our students' reactions to their new teachers and classrooms.

Everything was packed and ready for our three-day spa stay. The four of us were going to have our bachelor and bachelorette parties while staying there. We were getting married on Saturday. I was very excited, I wanted all of this to be over, I yearned to be Edward's wife.

"Ready?" Edward poked his head in the closet. "Yes, love," I replied as I zipped up the suitcases.

We had to pack for the spa stay and our honeymoon. Phil and Sue were in charge of making sure the suitcase made it to where they needed to be during the weekend. We were supposed to arrive at the venue after breakfast at the spa on Saturday.

The four of us got into the car that Alice won as part of Project Runway. We were singing along to the radio all the way to the spa.

Edward

I couldn't help but feel grateful for the love and support of our family. We were here at the spa, along with my sister and her fiancé Jasper, for our bachelor and bachelorette parties. It was a three-day affair, filled with spa treatments, massages, and quality time with our loved ones. Bella laid next to me, her hand intertwined with mine as we both enjoyed our couples massage. It had been a long journey for us, but we were finally here – engaged and ready to start the rest of our lives together. I can't say it enough, I don't think I'll ever tire of saying it.

Bella and I had been together for a little over four years, and we were madly in love. Despite the fact that I was blind, she never saw it as a hindrance in our relationship. In fact, she always said that it was one of the things that made her fall in love with me. She saw me for who I truly was, beyond my disability. She loved me for who I was, not for what I could see. And that's what made our love so pure and real.

As I relaxed under the skilled hands of the masseuse, I heard my sister Alice giggling next to me. I couldn't help but smile, knowing that she was just as happy as I was. After our massages, we all headed to the pool, where we spent the rest of the afternoon laughing and splashing around. We were having a blast.

Bella said it was sunset, so we all headed back to our rooms to get ready for dinner. Bella and I took this opportunity to spend some alone time, away from the chaos of our families. We sat on the balcony, talking about our fears and hopes for the future.

"I'm scared, Edward," Bella admitted, her voice trembling slightly. "What if I'm not a good wife? What if I can't make you happy?"

I took her hand in mine and brought it to my lips, kissing it gently. "Bella, you make me happy just by being you. I have no doubt that you'll be an amazing wife. And as for making me happy, you already do that every day."

I heard her sniffle and felt her tears on our joined hands. I knew that I had said the right thing. We sat there in silence for a few moments, just enjoying each other's presence, before we continued to get ready for dinner. After dinner Bella and I decided to spend a little bit more time in the jacuzzi. As the warm water relaxed our bodies, again Bella and I talked about our future.

"We are waiting to have children, right?" I asked her. "Do you want us to have children?"

"I would love nothing more, Bella. With you I want everything," I replied, taking her chin and kissing her. "How many would we have?" She asked.

"I don't know, two maybe?"

"Two is good, I think we can handle two," I hugged her to my side. We were both nervous about the wedding, but we were also excited to start our lives together as husband and wife. I couldn't wait to say our vows and to finally call her my wife.

The next day, we spent the morning getting facials, manicures and pedicures for the big day, while the men went out for a round of golf. After that Jasper and I had to go get our pedicures. I was skeptical at first, but it turned out to be an interesting but enjoyable experience. I'm not opposed to doing that again. In the afternoon, we all met up again for our rehearsal at the venue. Bella and I couldn't help but smile as we walked down the aisle, and rehearsed every part of the ceremony imagining what it would be like on our actual wedding day.

After the rehearsal, we had an early dinner at a fancy restaurant. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and love, as we all talked and laughed over delicious food. As the night went on, the women decided to have some alone time… I'm pretty sure they were going to talk about the same thing the guys and I were. I wasn't going to initiate that conversation to be honest.

I knew Bella and Alice were going to open some risqué presents from their friends, and they talked about their hopes and fears for their wedding night. I could only imagine the laughter and giggles that filled the room as they shared their thoughts and feelings. Meanwhile, I couldn't help but feel a little nervous, knowing that I wouldn't be able to see my wife on our wedding night. We'd done things but I was scared of going all the way…what if I wasn't good at it? What if I can't satisfy her like I do now?

As we sat around the fire pit, Jasper brought up the topic of intimacy and sex. I could feel my cheeks heat up, but I was also curious to hear what he had to say. Jasper, Carlisle, Phil and Emmett gave me some advice and reassured me that it was completely normal to feel nervous about the wedding night. They told me to communicate with Bella and to take things slow. I was grateful for their words of wisdom, and I felt more at ease knowing that I had their support. I was a bit mortified to have this conversation with Bella's father present. I'm glad he decided to go to bed after his second drink.

The next morning, I woke up early but alone, Bella stayed in Alice's room. They would be getting ready together. I was filled with anticipation for our wedding day. We spent the morning getting ready separately, but we couldn't wait to see each other at the altar. As I stood there, waiting for my bride, I couldn't help but feel a sense of calm wash over me. I knew that no matter what challenges we faced in the future, we would always have each other. I couldn't wait to start this new chapter of my life with Bella by my side.
