Ch. 47 The Final Battle

The heroes' fleet continued to sail towards its distention while all of the warriors were forced to sit and wait upon the various ships they had been assigned. Some of the warriors, such as Mitsurugi continued to train a little bit. However, they refrained from doing to much since some of them could easily sink a ship by accident if they got carried away.

"How long is this going to take." Yun-seon groaned. "And where are we going anyway?"

"The Money Pit." Sheik answered.

"The Money Pit?" Yun-seong asked, not recognizing the name.

Yoshimitsu turned to explain to the young man.

"A tropical island. It was once the hiding spot of the wealthy weapons merchant, Vercci. When alive, he was Voldo's master." Yoshimitsu explained.

"How do you know that?" Mi-na asked.

"I have been there before." Yoshimitsu explained.

"All intelligence points to that being the place our enemies have been hiding." Sheik informed.

"Well, I hope you're right." Hilde commented. "We can't afford to be wrong on this. Those bastards need to die."

"Hilde, can I speak with you for a moment?" Sheik requested.

"What is it?"

"Please follow me." Sheik requested.

Hilda followed Sheik while Xianghua watched the pair past her.

"Say Maxi, we already know the Sheik is a Princess Zelda, so why does she continue to pretend to be him?" Xianghua asked.

"Who knows." Maxi answered, steering his ship. "Maybe she doesn't want the entire camp to know who she is? Or maybe she's worried that she's so hot it would distract the men. Anyway, what I can't figure out is if Sheik should be called a him or a her."

"That's easy." Xianghua answered. "Zelda is really Sheik, and Zelda is a girl. Therefore, Sheik is a girl."

"Yea, but I'm pretty sure Sheik is suppose to be a guy. In fact, I'm almost certain he is."

"Don't be silly, Maxi. Sheik is a girl." Xianghua answered.

"That's not what we thought while traveling with him…or her. Man, this must drive Link nuts."

Hilde followed Sheik to the front of the boat where Link was sitting on the edge of the bow. While he had already been lectured of the lack of safety of perching there, he seemed insistent as it gave him a good view forward.

"Link." Sheik spoke.

Link nodded, understanding the sheikah. He quickly jumped off the bow and landed somewhere in the middle of the deck.

"Listen." Sheik began. "I realize Siegfried's loss has upset you greatly. However, a battlefield is not somewhere you can let your emotions run rampant. You must be able to control yourself, otherwise you will just lead your men to death."

"Oh, and where do you get off telling me how to lead my army? Do you know what it's like to be a female, trying to rule a country on your own, and knowing that the man you loved is gone for good!" Hilde screamed.

"Foolish girl, I know more than you could ever comprehend." Sheik seethed.

The clouds suddenly darkened and a flash of lightening cut through the sky as if the whether was reacting to Sheik's emotion. Sheik took in a deep sigh in which the clouds cleared one again.

"I am sorry, I should not have lost my temper with you." Sheik apologized.

As Link sat, waiting patiently for the ship to arrive to its destination, his ears twitched. Hick quickly jumped up with his bow pointed to the sky.

"There's a bad wind coming." Talim warned.

"Taki?" Mitsurugi asked.

"Yes, I can sense it as well." Taki informed.

Link lunched a fire arrow into a cloud. As the arrow flew into the clouds, a quick flash of light could be seen, indicating that the arrow had hit something and exploded.

Plummeting through the sky was a winged lizardman dressed in a full suit of armor; it's body currently smoking after being struck by Link's arrow. As the creature fell, more creatures descended from the clouds, each equipped with sword and shield.

"What are those things?" A soldier cried.

"Aeralfos." Sheik shouted. "All archers, prepare for battle now! Take them down before they reach the boats."

The Aeralfos released streams of fire from their mouths, lighting one of the boats ablaze.

"Link, I'll defend the ships, you take care of the monsters!" Sheik quickly commanded.

As the Aeralfos attempted to make another round with their fiery breath, Sheik summoned several large magical circles around the ships, blocking the flames. Sheik then turned his attention to the flames on the ships. The Sheikah quickly cast a ninjitsu spell using several hand gestures. Upon spreading her arms out, the flames lifted off the ship, suspended in midair. Sheik then raised his arms in the air as if conducting the flames, causing them to fire upwards, back towards the Aeralfos. As Sheik continued to defend their location, Link swiftly made his way towards the others ships.

With a running start, the young hero leapt off of the side of the ship and landed on the deck of the next ship over. Link continued to run across the deck of the second ship as well, shooting fire arrow after fire arrow at creatures. Much like Sheik, Link's aim was perfect as every one of his arrows hit a mark.

Link jumped towards the next ship over, but seeing that the ship was too far for even his capabilities, he quickly fired his hookshot at the mast of the ship and pulled himself over. Link landed on his feet and quickly began to defend the sector.

Edge Master teleported himself to a different section of the navy where he used his power to render a bow and arrow made of energy into his hands. The ancient warrior launched his own arrows, each exploding in bolts of electricity when they struck the monsters.

Taki and her ninjas were able to throw ninja starts at the creatures, however, most of the other heroes were unsure how to help. Most of them were trained in close quarter combat, so all they could do was try to bait the creatures to come near them so they could strike the monsters before they had a chance to retreat.

Mitsurugi looked up towards the top sail of the ship as he got an idea. The samurai warrior quickly grabbed onto a rope attached to a sail and cut it. The cut rope immediately propelled the Samurai upward. The Samurai cut any monster that got near him as he quickly ascended to the lookout of the ship. Being that he was by far the highest target now, the creatures seemed to be attracted to Mitsurugi and tried to swoop in on him. Their attempt was quick to lead to their downfall as the samurai cut them down before they even got a chance to attack.

The monsters were ferocious as the flew downwards towards the ships, trying to fling soldiers into the water. Some soldiers fell dead to the ground as a new volley of arrows came down from the sky. Following the first wave of monsters was a second wave: this time giant, black feathered vultures that carried what appeared to be pig like monsters known as Moblins. Moblins were large and powerful creatures, the average standing over six feet tall, and being very muscular. They were humanoid in appearance, but had pig like faces and fur covering most of their body.

These Moblins were smaller than the average breed, so that they could be more easily carried by their mounts, and were equipped with bows and arrows. Once their mounts were struck down by arrows, the Moblins landed on the ships where they drew their blades and began to battle.

"Finally, some real action." Mitsurugi commented as he jumped off of the lookout and landed with his blade shoved into the top of a Moblin's skull.

Link shot down several more flying units and then quickly drew his blade and slew the Moblins around him. Moblins were strong creatures, but their intelligence and speed were slow.

'Link finish off the Molbins, I'll take care of the rest.' Sheik telepathically instructed.

Summoning a bow in his hand, Sheik fired a golden arrow into the sky.

"Sagittae." Sheik chanted.

Hundreds of arrows rapidly rained down on the monsters, cutting through their ranks. Those that weren't killed instantly, quickly retreated away from the ship and back towards the island.

"Couldn't you have done that before?" Mi-na asked Sheik.

"My apologize. I was hoping to conserve my magic until we approached the island." Sheik informed. "I should have realized they'd send a vanguard to assess our forces."

"Yoshimitsu, what's our numbers?" Hilde asked.

"From the looks of it, we on lost a small platoon."

"So, not many in the long run, but still, it seems like each time we go against these things we get slaughtered. The number of men that I've lost in this war is uncountable." Hilde remorsed.

"They were only toying with us." Sheik informed Hilde and Yoshimitsu. "Instead of viewing us as a threat, our enemy sees us as nothing but amusement. When we land on that island, the armies will be several times worse."

"Your highness, we are approaching." A soldier on the look out announced. "The Money Pit is straight ahead."

"Speak of the devil." Sheik muttered.

As one of the lookouts was trying to spot an island, he nearly fell from his spot as he dropped his telescope.

"What is it?" Hilde asked irritated.

"It's Hell!" The man cried in fear. "We're sailing towards the depths of Hell."

"What are you talking about?" Hilde growled as she looked through the telescope herself, only to gasp at what she saw. What was once a tropical island, lush with green trees and clear beaches, was now a pit of despair and darkness. The beaches were now made of ash, and not a single bit of wildlife remained. The sky above was filled with dark clouds and the water around looked as if it was stained with blood. The mountains of the island were shaped to look like the faces of various monsters, with the center mountain shaped like the head of a Moblin. Smoke and fire spewed out of the mountains' faces, as if they were active volcanoes, and sitting on the central mountain was a dark castle made of black steel.

As the ship came closer to the island, the bloody waters seemed to extend as well as they approached the ship. Sheik looked behind as he saw the bloody waters continue to spread past the ship and further into the ocean.

"I understand now." Sheik spoke. "A portal to the Dark World, or the Void as it is called in this world, has been opened. The Dark world has consumed the island and is now expanding itself across the sea. Soon it will reach the main land and then there will be nothing stopping it."

"We need to stop that." Xianghua shouted, hearing the bad news. "If it reaches the main land, then…."

"Indeed, the entire world will be engulfed." Sheik confirmed.

Now that the ship was in the Dark World, Raphael suddenly transformed into his vampire state, followed by Amy whose skin went slightly pale from the Dark World's influence.

"What in the world!" A soldier gasped.

"Captain, more monsters!" A soldier cried.

"Calm down, they're with us." Hwang shouted.

"Well, it appears that this Dark World activates our cursed states." Raphael commented. "No matter, this could be quite beneficial in the upcoming battle."

Raphael heard a bell ringing on the ship that Sheik was located on.

"Well, it looks like it is time for the meeting." The French nobleman commented. "Perfect timing."

Using their powers, Amy and Raphael were able to easily jump from ship to ship to meet the other heroes who were gathering. The only one not present was Maxi, who was still busy steering his own ship.

"Listen." Sheik began to speak. "Once we reach the island, Link and I will go on ahead."

"Are we really going to do this again?" Mitsurugi asked. "Link's solo attempts are becoming redundant"

"It's the only way." Sheik answered. "The only person who even stands a chance against our true enemy is Link. The only reason why I'm going along is because my arrows and magic can provide support."

"Then what will the rest of us do than?" Taki asked.

"You're going to get us inside, and after than, hold off the army."

"What army?" Yun-seong asked, looking through a telescope. "I don't see anything."

Talim froze for a second as she felt an ominous wind

"Oh great." Yun-seong grunted.

"What?" Talim asked.

"Well, every time the wind blows through your hair like that, we get attacked." The Korean boy pointed out.

"Not every time." Talim corrected.

"Well just about."

"Your highness, an army is appearing on the island." A look out said. "They're rising from the ground. By the gods…"

As the ships got closer to the island, and army of skeletons rose from the ashes on the ground. The skeletons, known as Stalfos, were undead warriors that served the forces of evil. The Stalfos came in various sizes and with diverse weaponry. The weapons ranged from a sword and shield, to a large club, to a pair of twin swords, to a pair of Nunchaku made out of bones. The amount of armor they wore also varied. While most of them just wore a simple chest plate and boots, others wore almost nothing, while their elites were almost completely covered armor.

Joining the army of skeletons was an army of lizardmen and Moblins. The smallest Moblins stood in the back of the army with bows, and the larger ones stood up front with large spears and shields. All of them wore armor around their chest, shoulders, wrists, and boots.

The lizardmen, known as Lizalfos to Sheik and Link, all carried swords or axes. Most of them only wore armor on their shoulders and wrists, with helmets on top of their heads. However, their elites, known as Dinolfos, were completely garbed in silver armor, and not only carried a shield with their weapon, but could also breath fire. Then, of course, there were also the Aerafoes flying above, ready for attack.

Leading each of these factions of monsters were opponents Link recognized. With the Stalfo and Liazfos was Revenant and Aeon Calcus. Undoubtfully revived by dark magic, Revenant's skin coloring was now a blackened and Aeon Calcus's skin a purple shade. Aeon Calcus had again sprouted wings, just as he had when empowered by Soul Edge, and Revenant was now equipped with a second pair of arms.

Leading the Moblins was a creature known as King Moblin, the largest and strongest of all the Moblins. He stood over twice the height of a regular man and was fully outfitted in golden armor. In his arms he carried a giant magical hammer capable of releasing shock waves.

"We are so screwed." Maxi commented, looking at the giant army.

"Stick to the plan." Sheik spoke. "Cover Link so he can reach the castle. Once we defeat their leader, the army will follow"

As the ships reached the Island, one of the Moblin captains shouted, "fire!"

The Moblin archers all began to release arrows that had been lit with burning oil towards the ships.

"Return fire, now!" Hwang shouted.

The cannons on the ships were prepared and loaded as they returned fire on the armies, blowing the Stalfos, and the occasional Moblin and Lizlfos to bits. However, whenever a stalfos was destroyed, another just rose from the ground to take its place.

As soon as the ships were close enough to shallow water, Link and the other heroes jumped overboard and ran the rest of the way towards shore.

"Link." Sheik instructed.

Link drew Soul Edge from its sheath and with a single swing of the blade he released a massive wave of energy that cut through the enemy lines and created a path for himself.

Link jumped onto Epona's back and raced through the path that he had made. Sheik remained in close pursuit, shooting arrows at incoming enemies as she went. A group of Moblins holding spears tried to block Link's path, but a series of ninja stars thrown by Taki quickly took them out. The female ninja then jumped over Link and killed several other monsters that were about to close in on him.

Yun-seong and Maxi stayed in back of the heroes, killing any of the monster that tried to follow them.

"Don't worry about your back, we've got it covered." Yun-seong assured.

Xianghua fired several blasts of energy out of her blade towards the flying units, and was followed up by Talim and Mi-na who each released a gust of wind from their weapons when they swung them.

Mitsurugi rode next to Link on a horse of his own, taking out several incoming monsters with a sweep of his blade.

Using their Vampire speed, Raphael and Amy kept up with Link. Each took a side as they covered Link from any monster that tried to attack him from the side.

Meanwhile, the two Alexandra sisters stayed close behind Link, keeping his rear safe.

More enemies tried to descend upon Link from the sky, only to be slashed away by Ivy's whip blade. Yoshimitsu flew directly above Link's, using his mechanical arm like a helicopter propeller, as he slashed at his foes with his free hand. Finally, Edge Master appeared in front of Link as well, and with a single sweep of a BigGoron sized sword, he was able to clear out all of the enemies in their path.

"Get into the castle, now." Edge Master ordered.

Once Link was in range, Link jumped off of Epona's back and smashed through the front doors of the palace using his Megaton hammer. However, as soon as Link entered the gloomy castle, a barrier began to form around it. Sheik quickly vanished in a puff of smoke as he tried to enter the castle through teleportation, but wasn't quite quick enough as he found himself stuck in front of the gate, unable to get in even with teleportation.

"Looks like Link got through." Taki shouted to her comrades.

"Yea, but Sheik didn't." Talim pointed out.

"What do we do now?" Yun-seong asked, as everyone began to be surrounded by thousands of monsters.

"Simple, we fight." Mitsurugi informed as he leapt off his horse and began to slaughter monster after monster.

"Charge!" Hilde ordered. She and her army had safely made it to shore and charged out of the ships to attack the enemy army.

"For the Athens!" A Greek commander shouted as an Athenian group of warriors charged forward with swords clashing.

"Fu-Ma ninjas, protect your chieftain." A ninja commanded, as the Fu-Ma ninjas leapt into battle, trying to reach Taki.

"Admiral, what do we do now?" A navy officer asked Hwang.

"Simple, we get on our land legs and fight!" Hwang answered as he and the Korean navy soldiers jumped off of the ship with the swords drawn.

Swing his giant mace, Rock was able to send a Moblin flying. Due to his great size, the Moblins posed less of a threat to him. Setsuka drew her blade from her umbrella and cut down two lizalfos with her speed.

Even if they were outnumbered, the united band of heroes would hold on as long as it took for Link to complete his task of defeating the enemy leader.

Link walked up the stairs of the castle with his Master Sword and Hylian Shield ready. He should have known something was up when there wasn't a barrier around the castle. It had been too easy getting here, and so far, there hadn't been a single trap or monster to try to prevent his progress. The sign of enemies were a few Keese flying around, but they didn't seem a bit interested in Link at the moment. As Link continued to make his climb, he could hear the sound of an organ echoing through the halls. Great, as if this place wasn't spooky enough. The organ sound continued to grow larger, signifying that he must be getting closer to his true foe.

After Link stepped inside the first floor of the castle's keep, the door behind him suddenly shut. Link's ears twitched as he heard several loud thumbs that sounded like metal clanging. Link quickly switched his Master Sword for his Biggoron Sword as he prepared for what was coming. Link thought he had destroyed the last of these creatures years ago, but apparently some had been reforged. Surrounding the young hero was a dozen Iron knuckles: powerful foes that were comprised of wicked spirits fused into thick armor. No other common enemy surpassed their strength and endurance. Just a single one required an entire team of magic knights to defeat, and now half a dozen of them had Link surrounded.

As Link prepared to battle against the powerful enemies, an ax with a chain attached to it flew towards an Iron knockle and cut right through the creature's thick armor.

"What are you doing just standing there?" Spawn asked Link while hand from the ceiling. The hell spawn yanked on the chain and pulled the ax out of the Iron knuckle's armor before he jumped down next to Link. "Go kill that bastard. I'll take care of these punks." Spawn instructed.

"Spawn…why are you helping us now?" Link question.

"Like you, I considered myself a hero when alive; a servant to the gods. Our difference though is I used my self-riotous beliefs to justify killing anyone who opposed me. By the time my eyes were opened, I was already doomed for Hell. However, I didn't escape that place just to bring it here. If I'm going to be stuck in eternal torment, I want to ensure that piece of trash keeps me company."

"I see…thank you." Link bid Farwell to the cursed warrior. Channeling his power into his blade, Link cut through the magical bars block his path. He then quickly proceeded up the tower, leaving Spawn to do battle with the Iron knuckles.

The Iron Knuckle that Spawn had struck was able to get back to its feet, unphased by mortal wounds.

"Come on punks, let's see what you got." Spawn challenged.

The first of the Iron Knuckled charged towards the hell spawn, but as it approached, Spawn threw one of his chains around its arm and pulled it towards him. The iron knuckle fell forward, allowing Spawn to slash it's back with his ax. Spawn then blocked a blow from one of the iron knuckles and quickly transformed another chain into an ax, striking the Iron knuckle across the chest.

One of the Iron knuckles swung its massive ax with such force that it sent a blast of wind and dirt towards Spawn. Spawn quickly jumped into the air to avoid the attack and fired several blasts of green flames towards the Iron knuckles. Spawn then transformed his weapons into a pair of chains with double-sided war-axes that spun like chainsaws. Spawn launched the pair of axes at the Iron knuckles, cutting two of them across the shoulder. The hell spawn landed on the ground to survey the damage he had done. Even though every one of his attacks would have slain any normal opponent, not a single one of the creatures had fallen yet.

"Damn these things are durable." Spawn cussed.

Link continued to run up the tower as the Organ music got progressively louder. Eventually Link made it to the final room. As Link entered, the door closed behind him and locked. Link didn't turn around to notice though. All he did was stare forward at the white hooded man who was playing the organ. Dark spirits continuously flew out of the instrument's pipes and then passed through the walls of the throne room. It was these spirits, and the man playing the instrument spewing them, that served as the means to the endless swarm of monsters outside.

"I've been waiting for you, boy." The white hooded figure greeted. "I must say, you took longer than expected to reach my domain."

"I know who you are. You can drop the disguise. Or are you too cowardly to show your face, Ganondorf?"

Ganondorf chuckled to himself as he turned around and pulled his hood down to reveal his face. Link was surprised at the King of Evil's appearance. He was aware of Ganondorf's shapeshifting abilities, but was surprised the King of Evil had to decide to take the appearance of one so young. He looked no older than thirty, with his red hair cut short and not a single whisker on his greenish-tan skin.

"Your courage has led you to foolishness, young Hero." Ganondorf greeted in a gentlemen like tone. "To come here to face me alone shall be the death of you."

"I've already stopped you several times already; this time won't be any different." Link reminded.

Ganondorf suddenly began to laugh manically. "You really believe that? Tell me boy, name one time you've managed to face me by yourself and come out the victor? Never have you been able to defeat me without the help of Zelda or those menacing six sages, and you think you can beat me now? Now that I am even more powerful than before?"

Ganondorf placed the skeleton shaped mask over his face. The Triforce of Power began to glow on his hand as the two artifacts reacted to one-another. It was then that he began to transform into Ganon. However, the shape he was taking was different than any Link had seen before.

Despite being smaller than his past transformations, Ganon still stood nearly twice the size of an average person. His bulky body had also taken a more skeletal form with purple muscle tissue forming around the bones. His face resembled a Moblin's skull with purple flames blazing around it, and a large pair of devilish horns protruding from the sides and pointing forward. Around his chest and waist was silver armor that also had a skull motif to it. Ganon's eyes glowed red as they peered at Link. The King of evil drew Soul Calibur, in which the blade took the form of a giant scythe that had two blades on each end.

The Triforce of Courage began to glow on Link's left palm as he too transformed and summoned his magic amor. Link's master sword transformed into its golden form, and his Hylian Shield into the gold Mirror Shield.

A large gold arura surrounded Link's body as a purple one surrounded Ganon's. A ring of mystical flames surrounded the room, preventing anyone from entering or exiting until one of the two warriors was dead.

"Now you die!" Ganon shouted as he charged forth towards Link.

Golden flames surrounded Link's body as he charged towards Ganondorf. As their weapon's collided, they released a large explosion that tore up most of the room.

The army of heroes continued to fight against the Dark World's forces, standing strong even though they were horribly outmatched.

"Stay back-to-back. This will help if surrounded." Taki instructed, killing another Lizalfo.

Mitsurugi killed one of the giant moblins with ease and leapt across several foes so that he would remain paired with Taki. Cassandra and Sophitia were already fighting next to each other, and Mi-na, Yun-seong, and Talim had also already formed their own group. Xianghua fired a blast of energy out of her sword, destroying several Stalfos that were in her path so that she could reach Maxi. Raphael and Amy were already together, and Yoshimitsu quickly teleported himself next to Rock.

Edge Master was the only to stand alone, facing King Moblin, Revenant and Aeon Calcus all at once. As Aeon Calcus swooped down with his fiery breath, Edge Master conjured a magical shield to defend against the flames. Then, summoning pair of blades into his hands, the ancient warrior blocked a series of blows from Revanant's four swords before jumping out of the way of a shock wave caused by King Moblin's hammer.

Far above the battle, flying on a pair of brooms. were Ganondorf's two witches. The pair observed the battle carefully while inspecting the progress of the heroes.

"They are doing better than expected, aren't they Koume." The blue witch commented.

"Indeed, Kotake, but it is clear it is only because of a few strong ones they brought with them." The red witch retorted.

"Yes sister, I agree. I sense that one, two… less than twenty warriors serve as the back bone of their forces."

"Without those warriors, their army will fall with ease."

"Indeed, so let us begin."

The two witches raised their staffs to channel their dark magic. As they did, Kotake's hair transformed into streams of blue ice and Koume's became emblazed with red flames.

Six large portals opened on the battle field; one on the water, two in the air, and three on the ground.

Out of the first portal on the ground walked Dark Link. He was longer modified by Soul Edge. Instead, he took his original appearance as an evil version of Link garbed in a black tunic with white hair and glowing red eyes. The evil doppelganger looked around with a wicked grin, happy to be back.

Through the two portals in the sky flew a phantom on a black unicorn, and a fiery dragon. The phantom was dressed in black armor with smoke seeping out of it and looked identical to Ganondorf but without skin. The demonic unicorn he rode on was covered in armor, and had a mane and tail of fire with red eyes that glowed. The Phantom Ganon fired several blasts of energy out of his trident, electrifying several warriors. He then flew down and cut down several others.

The dragon next to Phantom Ganon was one known throughout Hyrule. Given the name Volvagia, the wicked creature had once nearly caused a volcano to erupt with its power. The creature had the shape of a giant red serpent that had sprouted a pair of muscular arms and wings of fire. A mane of flames and a metal helmet covered it's face with sharp horns protruding from its skull. The red dragon shot flames from its mouth, turning soldiers into ash.

The portal on the ocean closed as a tentacle of water the size of a ship rose up from the ocean. Inside the tentacle was a heart. The giant tentacle smashed itself into a ship, destroying it with a single strike. Several smaller tentacles then rose up from the water and wrapped themselves around several soldiers, crushing their bodies as it suffocated them.

As the second portal on the ground opened, a group of soldiers stood ready for whatever came out. However, much to their surprise, nothing came out of the portal. As soon as one of the soldiers let down his guard though, his body suddenly imploded as he fell dead to the ground.

"What was that?" One of the soldiers asked, terrified.

Suddenly soldiers let out painful cries before their bodies imploded as well. One of the soldiers looked underneath him and saw a giant shadow below his feet. The Soldier began to run for his life, but he met the same fate as his fellow warriors.

Out of the final portal marched an enormous arachnid like monster with each of its eight legs shaped like scorpion claws. The creature stood on its back four claws as it looked down at its prey with a single giant eye in the center of its head. Protruding from the creature's back was a thick tail, nearly twice the length of its body. At the end of the tail were three curved stingers shaped like a claw. This creature was a Ghoma Queen, one of the most ferocious monsters around, and stood on top of the food chain.

The Ghoma Queen trampled through its enemy's lines, scooping up soldiers with its front claws and devouring them whole in its mouth of razor-sharp teeth.

Dark Link drew his sword and Shield and immediately killed any enemy soldier that came near him. The evil doubleganger then set his gaze on Cassandra, ready to make the girl pay for what she had done to him. The evil clone cut through any soldier in his path as he made his way to the two Alexandra sisters.

"Cassandra, watch out!" Sophitia warned as Dark Link tried to slash at her younger sister.

Sophitia blocked Dark Link's attack with her shield but stumbled backwards from the mere strength of the blow.

"You bitch, stay out of my way!" Dark Link cussed as he slashed at Sophitia several times. Sophitia found herself barely able to block the blows. Dark Link was just as fast and powerful as Link. She didn't stand a chance against him. Dark Link struck Sophitia in the face with his shield, knocking her to the ground.

"You bastard!" Cassandra shouted. She charged at Dark Link but her attack couldn't even graze the evil doubleganger. Dark Link swiftly kicked the younger sister to the ground.

"I'm going to enjoy ripping you in half." Dark Link commented.

A sword beam suddenly cut through the earth between Cassandra and Dark Link. Both of the warriors turned to see Mitsurugi.

"You want a fight? How about you take me on for size." The samurai challenged.

Xianghua fired a bubble of blue energy towards Phantom Ganon while his back was turned, knocking him off his horse.

"Take that!" Xianghua shouted.

With a growl Phantom Ganon began to hover off the ground as he multiplied into four copies of himself.

"I think you pissed him off, Xianghua." Maxi informed.

Across the field, the Volvagia wreaked havoc on the soldiers.

"If you're not equipped to fight, then I advise you out of the way." Ivy barked.

Ivy extended her whip and slashed at the dragon. However, her attacks only bounced off of the dragon's rough skin.

"Damn, this thing is a lot stronger than the last dragon I fought." Ivy commented.

The strange shadow that had massacred several soldiers made its way towards Taki who had finished slaying several more monsters.

Sensing the shadow approach their new leader, a ninja shouted, "Fu-Ma ninjas, attack."

A dozen ninja jumped between Taki and the strange shadow. The Fu-Ma ninjas began to make ninjitsu hand signs while throwing several talismans towards the shadow. The pieces of paper seemed to hover in the air as they attached to some sort of invisible creature. Lightning flowed out of the paper talismans as the invisible creature let out a highpitched screech. However, what ever the ninjas had attacked seemed to be more powerful than they anticipated. The creatures broke through the spells and the ninjas were sent flying backwards.

"Get out of here." Taki ordered her men as she drew her second blade, Mekki-maru. Taki performed several hand signs, releasing the seal placed on the blade so that she could use the full power Soul Edge's curse had brought upon it. The Mekki-maru became more jagged in appearance, as the blade was now made of the same brown and orange fleshy material that other Soul Edge weapons were made of. Taki stood prepared for battle, and anything the invisible creature could throw at her.

Upon seeing the dragon reduce several more soldiers to ash, Yoshimitsu took the sky by using spinning his blade like a helicopter blade. The masked samurai flew over the dragon and struck it with his blade. Ivy's whip then extended into the air, also lashing out against the dragon. The attacks didn't even make a dent against the dragon's scales, but at least drew its attention away from the soldiers it had been burning. Yoshimitsu landed next to Ivy as the unlikely duo prepared to face the fire breathing creature.

Rock jumped at the Ghoma Queen and struck it with his giant mace, but the Ghoma Queen didn't even flinch as a single swipe of its claws sent Rock crashing through a rock.

"Rock!" Cassandra cried.

"Cassandra, watch out!" Sophitia warned. The two sisters jumped out of the armored arachnid's path.

"Sophitia, we need to take that thing down." Cassandra shouted.

"I agree, sister."

Mi-na, Yun-Seong, and Talim stood near the waters that the aquatic tentacles had risen from.

"What is this thing?" Mi-na gapped.

"I'm not sure." Talim admitted. "I should be sensing some evil presence, but I'm not feeling anything from those tentacles."

"Well, they certainly look evil to me." Yu-Seong yelped as the he narrowly avoided being crushed by one of the tendrils.

The two witches continued to watch the battle from the air, pleased at the way things turning.

"Soon, they will all be crushed like the little mice they are." Kotake cackled.

"Yes, these fools are about to discover they are nothing compared to the power of our dark lord." Koume agreed.

Before the twin witches could gloat any further, several rays of light illuminated the dark battle field. The countless monsters on the field seem to weaken from the rays as several moblins fell to their knees while the bodies stalfos fell apart. Even the powerful beasts the witches had summoned seemed affected as Dark Link raised his shield to the light and the Ghoma Queen cowered back.

The twins placed their hands over their eyes as they attempted to gaze towards the bright light's source. Hovering the middle of the field was Zelda, cupping her hands in prayer. Zelda turned to the two witches and hovered closer to them.

"I would not count us out yet." The Hylian Queen spoke.

Authors Notes: So, the finally battle between Good and Evil has begun. I hope everyone has enjoyed this story. Just a couple chapters to go and it's done. If anyone is wondering what Ganondorf's current Ganon form is based on, I combined features of Skull Ganon in Cadence of Hyrule, and Abyss from Soul Calibur III.
