Jiminy sighed in his cage. Charming had pulled out of the rain and sat under a large tree with big leaves. Charming complained anytime he got wet. "Do you mind moving me closer to the tree?" Jiminy asked. "I'm getting awfully wet over here."
Charming stared at him, rolled his eyes, and pulled him closer. "Only because I don't want you to die, bug," he said. After a while of silence, Charming had dozed off, sitting up.
"Is he finally asleep?" came a small, beautiful woman's voice from nearby.
"Yes," Jiminy replied. "Where are you?"
"Right here," she replied, floating out of Charming's satchel. "That crook left me in there and told me not to come out."
"Who are you?" Jiminy asked.
"I am Queen Titania of Pixie Hollow," she answered, curtseying. "And who may you be?"
"My apologies, Your Highness," Jiminy said, bowing. "I am the Ethical Bug, but you can call me Jiminy."
"The Ethical Bug..." Titania repeated.
"That is correct," Jiminy replied.
"What are you doing with this man, if I may ask?" Titania asked, sitting on a tree root.
"I cam to help the king of Far Far Away get Excalibur," Jiminy explained. "However, we ran into a problem in Pixie Hollow and I was separated from his party of three."
"Excalibur?" Titania asked. "So the Sword of Legend does exist!"
"Indeed it does, Your Highness," Jiminy said. "However, Charming wants me to take him to it, and, since I have the job of leading those who may be worthy to pull the sword, I have to give him instructions to it."
"Who gave you the job?" Titania asked.
"The Lady of the Lake," Jiminy said. "She recovered the sword and began to guard it. She sent me out as she assumed it was time for someone to pull the sword."
"Ah, I see," Titania said. "You said you've been to Pixie Hollow?"
"Yes, ma'am," Jiminy said.
"What becomes of it?" Titania asked.
"Pixie Hollow was under complete control of Charming when I was there," Jiminy said. "He has a band of flying monkeys keeping an eye on the fairies. He's having them mine opals and other things for something he deems very important."
"Opals?" Titania asked. "How did he discover of our opal reserve?"
"So it's been there for a while then?" Jiminy asked.
"It has," Titania answered. "For generations, the king and queen of Pixie Hollow are in charge of one responsibility, other than to govern Pixie Hollow, that is, to keep a watchful eye on the opals."
"Why is that?" Jiminy questioned. '
"Well, the opals can, if brewed correctly, create a resurrection wish. This man here must be trying to resurrect someone," Titania explained.
"Wh-How long have the opals been able to do that?" Jiminy asked, shocked.
"For many years now," Titania explained. "A batch of opals came from the Enchanted Forest. Those opals were enchanted with a wish granting ability, however, us fairies have done many things to the opals to limit their uses. The only wish we could not rid it of was resurrection. It has been like that for decades."
"But...how did Charming find out?"
"Even that is out of my knowledge," Titania sighed. "I wish I knew the reason, and his cause for wanting them."
"Does he know how to make the wish?" Jiminy asked, holding onto the bars of the cage.
"I hope not," Titania said. "But the only thing one can do is sit and wait."
"What does he want you for?" Jiminy asked, confused.
"I believe it was to lower the morale of my people," Titania said. "My people look up to me greatly and my absence may make them uneasy." Jiminy hesitated. "Why don't we get out of here?" Jiminy asked.
"The both of us?" Titania asked.
"Well, I wish we could both leave but I have a mission, more important than my life. I can help you escape though." Titania looked at the string of plastic keeping her attached to his pocket. "I can't go far."
"No, but, perhaps if you use some of your pixie dust, my cage can come closer to you and I can get you out," Jiminy suggested.
"But how will you untie this?" she asked, holding up the plastic tied around her ankle. "It's nearly impossible!"
"I have my ways," Jiminy said, proudly. Titania hesitated for a moment. "He won't even notice you're gone," Jiminy added.
"Okay," Titania said. "I will get back to Pixie Hollow and boost my people's morale. They may be able to help you."
"Don't forget the monkeys!" Jiminy said.
"The monkeys are no problem. They can't withstand our glow if we group together," Titania answered.
Titania held out her hand and blew yellow dust at Jiminy's cage, being careful not to touch Jiminy with any of it. The cage began floating. Jiminy opened his shell and pushed the cage, with his wings making him move forward, towards Titania. He waited a few seconds before the cage began to slowly descend.
Once the cage sat on the root Titania is sitting on, Jiminy reached his hands through the bars, towards Titania's leg. "Pardon me, Your Highness," Jiminy said, taking a small bow, and then continuing with the plastic. Jiminy began to slice at the plastic with his arms, until the plastic was released. It popped in two, leaving most of the plastic inside Charming's pocket. Titania floated upwards. "Thank you, Jiminy," she said.
"No problem, milady," Jiminy said, bowing. "Your people need you!" Titania curtseyed in the air and floated off. Charming shuffled.
"Sir, the rain stopped," Jiminy said.
"Hm?" Charming said, half awake. "Did you say something?"
"The rain stopped. We can continue on our way to Excalibur," Jiminy said.
"Oh, lovely!" Charming said, standing quickly. "Lead on then! We have to make sure Shrek doesn't get there first!"
Titania flew back to Pixie Hollow, coming to an abrupt stop before she entered. She took a deep breath, fixed her hair, adjusted her tiara, and floated inside. "Citizens of Pixie Hollow!" she called, putting her hands in the air. This caught the monkeys attention, but they waited to see what she'd do. "Your queen has returned to you! We shall fight these monkeys together and win back our kingdom!"
The fairies cheered. They began throwing down pickaxes and opals. "Gather together in large groups to defeat these monkeys. I will go save your king!" Titania finished. The fairies cheered again.
The largest monkey laughed. "Pfft! Fairies? Beating us? Yeah, right!"
"Charge!" Titania called, pointing at the large monkey. The fairies began to clump together, holding hands, and floating towards the flying monkeys. The monkeys tried to swat at them, however, the fairies are quick and avoided their attempts.
The fairies flew closer to the monkeys faces, blinding them, causing the monkeys to shriek horribly and fall to the ground. Titania was satisfied with her people's work and flew into the dungeon.
"Oberon?" Titania asked, floating down lower, into the dark, damp dungeon. "Oberon? Honey? Are you in here?"
"Down here, Titania," he said. She floated down and kissed her husband. "How are you?" she asked.
"Tired, but well," Oberon replied. Titania unlocked his shackle and hugged him. "I'm so happy to see you again, Oberon." She broke the hug after a few seconds. "We have bigger matters to discuss, dear. The fairies are rebelling against the flying monkeys, but they will need your help. Are you up to it?"
"As much as I'll ever be, honey," Oberon replied.
"Let's get you out there." Titania floated out of the dungeon with Oberon. "Fairies, I have saved our king! Now we can really show them how fairies are!" The fairies cheered louder.
Titania and Oberon joined in a smaller group with the fairies and helped fight back monkeys. After a struggle, the monkeys were all defeated and blinded on the floor. "We'll...get you back...for this, fairies!" the largest monkey said, pushing himself up off the ground. "We'll...we'll come back!" He flew off with a few others, into the woods. The fairies cheered.
"Oberon, dear, we have another problem," Titania said, turning to her husband. "The king of Far Far Away needs our help to get Excalibur before Charming gets it."
"Who's Charming?" Oberon asked.
"He's the man who threw you in the dungeon," Titania explained.
"Wait, the king of Far Far Away is out to get Excalibur?" Oberon checked.
"That is what the Ethical Bug told me. He was sent on a mission to help a worthy wielder get Excalibur, and is currently under Charming's possession," Titania added.
"The king of Far Far Away..." Oberon said. "I'm not sure if there is much we can do now."
"What about our Prying Glass?" Titania asked.
"Honey, you know we vowed to never use that," Oberon said.
"Yes, I know, but this is important," Titania said. "We can bend the rules, just once." Oberon stayed silent. "Okay, just this once," he agreed.
