Kagome looked at Sesshomaru, and he put his sword back and looked at her. "Come,"

He walked away, away from everyone else. He had enough of talking around others. He was a private guy. He had hoped to give her more time to adjust so that she could adjust to the idea of him. But people were making plans. He needed her to know; he was the only plan.

It took her a moment, but she followed him. A few good paces away into the woods, he stopped and looked at her.

"I will not leave Rin as the elder Miko wishes,"

"Ok,"

"You should come,"

Kagome swallowed. "With you?"

"Hn, while you are capable of a great many things, you are still human,"

"Immortal," She breathed sadly,

"You can still die,"

"Would that be so bad," She looked at the dirt.

"Kagome,"

Her head snapped up at the use of her name on his lips.

"Do not say such things,"

Was it her, or did that sound a bit passionate, as if it angered him?

Kagome looked back at the village,

"Your friends will be fine; they know my intentions," Sorta anyway.

Kagome slightly blushed; she wondered if he realized how that sounded.

"If I come with you, what does, what does that mean?"

He raised an eyebrow. "Explain,"

"I mean, what is next for you?"

"I will, mate,"

Her eyebrows shot up. "Won't I be in the way? I mean, having another woman around might cramp your style," Did he have a style?

"No,"

Even so, she wasn't sure if she wanted to be around for that or not. She bit her lip, and he saw her hesitation.

"If you stay, I will stay; where you go, I will go,"

"What," She breathed, it almost sounded romantic. But he was not a romantic guy, and they were not a thing, but still.

"You need me," He stated firmly,

But he didnt need her.

She shook her head. "I dont need a babysitter Sesshomaru,"

"You need a protector, Miko,"

"Babysitter, look, I know you feel some sort of obligation and all-

"You do not know what I feel, Miko. Do not insult me as to assume such,"

His eyes were dark as if it really did anger him.

She looked away again. The wind blew, and it calmed her, him.

"Even if my brother were here, I would seek to take you with me,"

"What,"

"In all scenarios that leave you here, I will seek to take you,"

Her heart hummed, for a man of little words, he sure knew how to use them. She was sure it was part of being a demon; many women were probably lured to their deaths by words spoken like that.

She blushed, and he noticed every time. It was a start.

"It is of mutual benefit, Kagome; Rin needs a mother; you need things in this world only I can give," He looked back at the village. "You are not Kikyo; you are not meant to be her replacement in any way of life," His golden eyes met hers, and he walked to her. He grabbed her hand, to her great shock, and they made their way back.

He knew she would not say no. There was no way.

"You will be my alpha female," He told her as they made their way back.

But Kagome said nothing; her eyes were too fixated on their hands. Covered by his sleeve yet she could feel him.

He stopped, and she didnt even bother to look up.

"The Miko will be coming with me,"

Miroku and Sango stood shocked, looking at the sleeve covering joined hands.

"We see that," Miroku stated.

Kagome finally looked up. She tried to pull her hand away slightly, but Sesshomaru had a firm grip.
