They moved quite fast, actually, almost blindingly fast. Satoru was quite certain he wouldn't have been able to follow or even perceive the movement of their ships if it wasn't for Six-Eyes granted him incredibly perception. They were pretty big too, each one probably the size of a large house.
The Eldar vessels were... for a lack of a better word, just plain fucking weird, like a really strange mix of fishy and aquiline features. There were about twenty of the, each one looking kind of different, but mostly similar to each other – implying a sense of individuality among them, perhaps? But he didn't focus too much on that when other things were clearly more interesting. The wings of their craft, for instance, kind of resembled leathery wings, but also fins; some even had tails and... were those sails? What the hell. Their hulls looked almost scaly, but also kind of feathery, but also kind of reminded him of the shells of underwater invertebrates. And they were all in really bright and vibrant shades of blue, red, yellow, and even green – or some hideous combination of all four that would've made him barf if it was used on clothing.
Eh
Still, the weirdness made them look so damn cool and... well... alien. Now, this was the sort of shit he'd been waiting to see ever since he woke up in the future. Laser guns, space magic, and superhumans were cool and all, but nothing could possibly compare to the wonder of actually seeing an alien creature, a goddamn extraterrestrial being. What did these Eldar look like? Satoru wondered. Were they the short, gray-skinned, black-eyed aliens he always heard and read about on Earth or did they look entirely different?
Oh, he was excited. Honestly. He was more excited now than he'd ever been in his entire life.
However, his excitement would have to wait. For this plan to work, the Eldar would have to drag this sorry excuse of a ship into their Craftworld, which meant he'd need to hide himself from their perception, physical and spiritual, just as Larkin and Tanya did.
Speaking of the father and child, the both of them disappeared just a moment ago, just thinking about them was pretty hard, actually. Whatever, this mission didn't concern them anyway. As long as he was able to accomplish what was necessary, then Larkin and Tanya were free to stay hidden for as long as they wanted to or could.
Breathing in, Satoru condensed and focused his Cursed Energy inwards, keeping it contained within his soul and ensuring that none of it leaked out. Because that was how Sorcerers were able to detect other sources of Cursed Energy, the stuff that leaked out due to a constant application of some Cursed Technique or, in most cases, due to a lack of fine control on the Sorcerer's part. Unfortunately for the Eldar, assuming they had the ability to detect, control, and manipulate Cursed Energy at all, Satoru had the ability to fully restrain his Cursed Energy, while maintaining Infinity, though he wouldn't be able to protect anything more than his immediate person.
But that was fine. As long as Larkin and Tanya kept themselves scarce, then there really wasn't anyone else for him to protect anyway.
And so, with the barest exertion of will and effort, Satoru retracted his Cursed Energies and minimized the output of Infinity, which meant the vessel was now vulnerable to just about anything with kinetic energy. But, at that point, it no longer mattered. Even if the Eldar attacked them for some reason, which Satoru doubted, because, if they really wanted to, then they already would've, then he'd just use a very generous application of Blue to send them plummeting right onto the Craftworld. But if he had to guess, then they were looking to salvage or study what they believed to be the ruined remnants of a floating ship in outer space. Or, honestly, considering these were aliens with alien minds, the could've approached them for any other reason. But, whatever the case, violence was unlikely – not impossible, which was definitely something he kept in mind.
As an afterthought, Satoru made it so that only light and oxygen could pass through his Infinity and nothing else, just in case the Eldar were using some sort of super high tech scanning technology or some other sci-fi thing.
However, there was still the matter of his physical self, which he couldn't quite hide through clever use of Cursed Energy. Ah well, he'll just have to wing the whole thing and sneak about like a ninja if the aliens ever decided to board their vessel.
A space ninja.
The coolness factor just doubled... wait... no... tripled, because he was also a space ninja thief.
Here to steal shit from aliens.
Satoru made a mental note to thank Tzeentch for giving him this wonderful opportunity. Would Cursed Spirit CEO equivalents enjoy a bottle of wine? Because he had no idea what to give as a proper thank you. But he'd seen it a lot in movies, employees gifting their bosses with fancy wine bottles.
And then, suddenly, reality buckled and twisted - a tiny portion of it, anyway, right next to him, but also around him. And, for a moment, Satoru found himself in a crystalline labyrinth, and before him was biblically accurate angel because what the fuck-
Eh, if you can actually hand it to me personally, then I'm cool with wine. Actually, no one's ever given me any wine before now that you brought it up.
The answer made his nose bleed, but also confirmed that Tzeentch was probably a gay shut-in. "Okay boss. If I find some good booze, I'll be sure to give it you."
Shrugging, Satoru approached the viewing port, after wiping the blood from his nose, and marveled at the alien ships that were flying around their vessel. It didn't seem to be a hostile approach, he noted, seeing as they weren't firing their laser beams or whatever; if anything, it seemed like the Eldar were curious. Their inability to perceive any sort of threat likely stemmed from the fact that most of their vessel was currently broken and or inoperable.
So... what the fuck were they doing?
For now, it seemed like the Eldar ships were just circling their vessel – not quite doing anything in particular, but Satoru just knew that they weren't doing this merely for the heck of it. Were they scanning the vessel or something? Every sci-fi movie he'd watched had a bio-scanner or some shit that allowed them to see if there were living creatures within derelict ships. Well, it was a safe bet anyway. Simple logic dictated they'd take precautionary actions; no one in their right mind would board a derelict space ship from hell without scanning or scouting it first, at the very least. It also showed that these Eldar had common sense, which already made them somewhat more dangerous than most foes, because – as strangely sad as it was to ponder – most people, human or otherwise, behaved like idiots.
Satoru sat down on a comfortable spot on the floor, right next to the viewing port and closed his eyes and just waited. There really wasn't anything for him to do at the moment and he had no idea how long it'd take for the Eldar to finish whatever it was they were doing. At the very least, the entire ship was no secure. Both Larkin and Tanya... were pretty much imperceptible and he was quite certain of the fact that their shared ability did not, in fact, make them invisible, but straight up sent them into a parallel dimension or some shit, wherein they were still somehow able to interact with this one. Honestly, if they learned to control that Innate Cursed Technique of theirs, then these two would be freakishly powerful; depending on how it actually worked, it might even be able to ignore Infinity if used offensively.
Yeah, he was gonna have to teach them Jujutsu when he had some time and some breathing room.
With nothing else to do, Satoru placed his hands together and kept his senses trained outwards, searching and waiting for any sign of the Eldar deviating from whatever it was they've been doing for the last few minutes now.
And then, about an hour or so later, one of the ships stirred, a big blue one with tail fins and wings, approached their vessel and stopped mere dozens of meters away. He stood up and watched from the viewing platform as the Eldar craft aligned itself to the side of their raggedy old ship. And from the big blue space fish thing emerged a bridge. Or, Satoru figured, it was far more accurate to say that a portion of its hull, quite literally, changed shape and started forming into a bridge, which then – he was guessing at this point – pierced right through their vessel's outer hull, connecting both ships.
Through Six-Eyes, Satoru found that their vessel or, at least, just the one right next to them, seemed to react to controlled bursts of Cursed Energy, some form of psycho-reactive material that, quite literally, bent and contorted to the will of whoever controlled it.
That was... super fucking cool. The only way for something of that nature to exist was if it was essentially made entirely of Cursed Energy. But, unlike Mai Zenin's Construction Cursed Technique, which created physical matter from Cursed Energy at extremely inefficient conversion rates, the Eldar version seemed to maintain a great portion of their psycho-reactive material in a state of constant flux, thereby allowing them to alter it whenever they wanted to. That also meant that their fancy tech had to be, at the very least, only partially physical for it to work.
Amazing. He'd never even thought of that. Or, rather, no one in the history of the Construction Cursed Technique, of which there were many users, had been able to even conceive of such a thing. To possess such a material meant one could, in theory, program it to do and be just about anything under the sun; the base of it, the main code, would be Cursed Energy and then turning it partially physical would allow the material to affect the physical world, but still retain its ability to be reshaped whenever the Sorcerer wished to do so.
Holy shit.
Could he do that?
Hmm... he probably could. The hard part would be creating the material, however, since it would require a mastery of Jujutsu that was hitherto undreamed of. Satoru was pretty sure that Sukuna's little pet, the one who possessed Megumi's sister, wouldn't have been capable of creating such a thing, not even with her Innate Technique. But, could he do it? Honestly, if he really tried, he probably could. After all, Construction was nothing more than a clever application of imagination and will, fueled by lots and lots of Cursed Energy, to manifest something into real space. Yeah, he'd try. Oh, he was definitely going to try, because nothing was impossible and the ability to create a programmable psycho-reactive material sounded like just the sort of thing that would greatly bolster his already considerable power.
A portion of the Eldar ship opened up. And Satoru nearly yelled out in joy and excitement when the aliens finally revealed themselves. There were five of them, he counted, humanoid in shape, but that was already expected, since the human form was rather suited to building empires and shit. They were also really tall. The shortest of their group was probably seven and a half feet tall at the least, while the tallest of them was around eight and a half feet. Great, a whole race of basketball players.
Despite their general humanoid shape, one would have to be blind or just really stupid to not see the other morphological differences, aside from the height and the same number of fingers. For one, their limbs were significantly longer than any humanoid limb he'd ever seen that wasn't horrifically deformed. Were they skeletal under their armor or were they just really thin, gray-skinned humanoids? Another thing was their physical proportions, which were most definitely far out of human norms and averages.
Kind of like humans, but also not. Very similar, but also very different if one bothered to look closer.
But, Satoru figured, there wasn't much he'd be able to discern with them still in their armors. What did catch his attention, however, was the unnatural grace and fluidity with which they moved, which was decidedly alien. Honestly, their movements were the most alien thing about them. But the most striking thing about the Eldar was the fact that all five of them, apparently, were Sorcerers. Or, at the very least, each of them had enough Cursed Energy reserves to be really powerful Jujutsu users.
The floor shook faintly as the Eldar presumably blew a hole through the hull. And then, they walked right in. And Satoru could not help but grin as he walked out of the deck. Time to see just what the aliens looked like from up close and personal.
AN: (Pat)reon's up to chapter 20, wherein Satoru trolls the space elves and makes things worse for everyone forever.
