thoughts

When he finally looked up, the sun was just cresting over the horizon. He reached for his wand casting tempus. He sighed as he sat up. "Six in the morning," he thought in slight shock. "It's been a while since I had to pull an all-nighter like that."

"Still to think this worlds magic works by invoking concepts. How have they not destroyed the planet yet? Even the newest magic user back home knew not to draw attention like that. I'd better start checking my magic levels. If this book is true, the magic here is stronger than I anticipated." As he dived into his occlumency, he immediately headed towards the black lake, seeing that it was still almost empty. He was surprised to find that there was almost no change from yesterday. He thought. "Why are they so low? I didn't use any magic yesterday. I should have more than this." As he immediately headed towards his core room.

After entering his core room, there he found that despite using no magic yesterday, the level of color in the orb had barely risen. "What's going on?" he said while approaching the orb, placing his hands on the orb, feeling his magic flowing through his body.

Following the flow, he arrived at where his body took in energy to turn into magic. There, he saw what looked like a stream flowing into his core. There was a statue on the stream. The statue was barely letting a trickle through. "What happened?" he thought, willing himself closer to the blockage.

There, he found a statue that looked like his worlds dragons with its wings acting as its forelegs. On each wing, there was a symbol he saw that the left wing had a circle vaguely reminiscent of the resurrection stone. The right wing had a line reminiscent of the elder wand through it, the symbols of two the deathly hollows.

He was surprised never in all his travels had he heard of something like this happening. It looked like the statue was blocking his access to his magic. As he approached, the statue started to move. Shifting its wings to block more of his magic, he immediately stopped moving. The block stopped shifting, and the stream stopped shrinking. As he moved backward, the blockage returned to its previous position.

"What the hell?" he thought, flying around the blockage. Frantically looking at it from all sides, never getting closer. Finally, he gave up with a sigh. "There is nothing I can do about this. I'll just have to hope that is corrects itself." Pulling himself back to the orb room, he removed his hands and headed to the front of hogwarts.

"While I'm here, I might as well get started on fixing the damage caused by the trip." He thought, heading up the staircase to the next floor. He looked at what he had missed last time in his rush to get to his core. The entire floor was in ruins. "This will take a while," he sighed, starting to repair the damage.

A few hours later

He heard Helens voice calling him from the outside. He finished repairing the section he was in and started rousing himself back to consciousness. When he awoke, Harry found Helen standing over him.

"It's almost noon. You have to eat something." She said sternly.

"Thank you," Harry replied. "I'll be down in a second." As he got out of bed.

Helen exited the room while saying. "A good healthy lunch is on the table." Harry thought to himself.

"It's going to take forever to fix my Occlumency barriers." Stretching before starting to follow Helen to the kitchen. When he arrived he saw the soup from yesterday with some vegetables added and some bread. He sat down to eat when he finished lunch he picked up his bowl and spoon, taking them to the counter. He started to wash them.

"Just what do you think you're doing, young man?" Helen demanded.

"I'm cleaning the dishes." He replied, confused.

"No, you're not. No patient of mine is going to work himself to death, go outside, and take it easy." Helen said with a stern expression.

"Alright," Harry replied with his hands in the air. "I'm going. I'm going. Maybe I'll explore a little bit." he mused as he left the house to explore more of Teirm.

After a few minutes, he felt the world slow down. Footsteps lightly sounded behind him, spinning around he saw Life standing there. "What are you doing here?" He asked in surprise.

"I can't visit a friend?" She said.

A friend huh funny I dont get friend vibes from you." Harry replied.

"Why not?" She questioned.

"I dont know, just a feeling, I suppose, though it might have something to do with you pushing me out of the train." He replied sarcasticly.

"I said I was sorry for that, didn't I?" She said, protesting.

"You didn't say sorry. Death gave me some dittany and told me you felt bad." Harry deadpaned.

"Samething." She said, waving her hand dismissively. Harry sighed,

"Why are you here?" He asked tiredness evident.

"I thought you might like to know why your magic levels are regenerating so slowly." She said.

A few hours later

He spotted an empty building. While approaching it, he thought. "I should see what I can do with my magic being blocked like this." Entering the building and looking around, he saw some abandoned equipment of some kind with a covering on them. They were scattered throughout the ground floor of the building.

While he had used a little bit of wandless magic back in his home dimension. It was limited to summoning and banishing charms. "I should start with what I know." he thought. While silently casting the banishing charm on a piece of equipment, only for the cover of the equipment to wave lightly as if in a breeze. "What the?!" he thought while trying the summoning charm only for the samething to happen. "Shit the block is worse than I thought. I can barely use any magic at all. I can hardly feel any magic at all." Depulso, the cloth moved more than it did last time. Accio the same result.

Even saying the spells out loud barely affected the result. He sighed, turning to leave when the door was slammed open. Three people with armor walked into the building. With a fourth person in a black cloak hiding behind them. "That one is good. If I couldn't sense magic, I wouldn't know that he was there." He thought.

"Halt magician, by order of King Galbatorix, you are to report to the Urû-baen for training and assignment to the army." The first person to barge into the room commanded.

"What if I don't want to go with you?" Harry asked curiously.

One of them drew a sword, and another stepped in front of the speaker, raising his sheild. The speaker gave what he thought was a menacing smile while saying, "You don't have a choice.""That's too bad." Harry replied. "Because I refuse." The man with his sword drawn exploded forward. Raising his weapon, as he approached. Harry, with his mind racing, used the weakened banishing charm on the dust on the ground.

Blowing it right into the charging man's eyes. The soilder shouted covering his eyes with his free hand almost sliding to a stop. Taking advantage of the distraction Harry stepped closer, but then felt a attack agianst his half repaired mental sheilds. He heard a voice chanting something in a strange language. "So the magic user wants to play." He thought.

While fending off the probe he grabbed the wrist of the sword wielding soldier with his right hand. He pivoted pulling the arm straight. Then he hit the elbow with his left hand with a sickening pop the elbow was dislocated. Screaming in pain the soilder dropped the sword. Harry letting go of his opponents wrist. Reached to grab the sword out of the air. Once he caught it he swung it at the soilder.

He heard the spells the man was chanting

"Malthinae, Letta, Garjzla letta, Eyddr eyreya onr." Feeling the magic spells starting to stop his movement. With the last of his free movement, he used a summoning charm on the soldiers' hair, tilting the soilder towards him. It was ensuring that he hit the soilders neck, cutting the jugular and throat as the sword sunk in blood sprayed out of the cut arterie. Covering him and shocking the mage using legilimency into stopping his attack. His vision vanished.

"So they aren't completely incompetent. Taking my vision is a good tactic, and it's crippling to normal mages." He thought slightly approving of their spell choice.

With his opponent yelling for Cadoc, Harry felt the magic finally stop all his movement. All he could do was listen to his opponents as they argued on if they should just kill him or not. Fortunately, he was not a normal mage and had mastered using magic while he could not see. Sending out a light pulse of magic, he got a clear picture of the situation.

The mage turned to look at him, seemingly feeling the magic pulse before turning to the others in the room. Harry focused on the spell, blinding him and cast a weak, finite incantatem. Fortuanetly, it was enough to end the spell. "Just like she said." He thought as one of the soilders screamed.

"I'll kill you!" while charging Harry, staring straight into his eyes. That was all he needed diving into his opponents mind he ruthlessly searched through it. What he found there served to solidify his opinion on the empire.

These soilders had used their perceived power to take what they wanted, money, food, and women it didn't matter if they were willing or not. He felt no remorse as he crushed what his opponent had and left only one command to stab your partner in the back.

He retreated to the outside world just in time to see the man charging him collapsing to the ground. He heard the last soldier cursing at him. Harry was starting to run low on what little magic he had managed to save up. He started to push against the control the other mage had on his movement.

"That's not going to work." The mage claimed. "I've been trained by the finest in the empire." He boasted. "You'll never escape." Harry tuned him out, continuing to push against the magic restricting his movement. When he saw the soilder he commanded start to stand up, he cast a weak banishing charm on the ground.

Sending some dust into the mages' eyes, the mage yelled out, covering his eyes, "damm you!" he yelled, strengthening the spells on him. Harry summoned a piece of the sword weilding soldiers' armor. Distracting the mage long enough to cast finite incantatem breaking the spell. Harry dived behind a piece of equipment.

"You can't get away." The mage called before shouting some words in the strange language ending with Eitha. Sending the piece of equipment, Harry was hiding behind sliding into him. Knocking him over Harry, having finally managed to draw his wand, used his remaining magic to summon the biggest thing he could. Sending the body of the third man flying into the mage.

Harry collapsed to the floor. The mage pushed his partner off him before standing up. Just when Harry was going to pass out from magical exhaustion. He felt the block on his magic shift, and then a flood of magic flowed through him. He laughed in relief.

"What are you laughing at?" Was the mages question before a sword emerged from his partners chest. The mage had a surprised expression on his face, turning to see the man that had rushed Harry first with a blank expression on his face. "What are you doing?!" he asked, shocked.

Stupefy Harry said calmly from the floor. With a red flash, the mage fell to the floor unconscious.

"Just in time." Harry said to the soilder who stood there silently. His thoughts racing with the information he had obtained he decided on a course of action. Turning to the brain dead soilder he ordered him "Send a message to the king, saying that his representative here is skimming taxes and you have proof. Then kill yourself where you won't be found." The soilder nodded before leaving to complete his task.

Once he was alone, he turned to the bodies he cast a vanishing charm at them. To his surprise, the charm worked perfectly. Confused and hopeful, he started casting spells, starting with the easiest and gradually getting more difficult. All but the most challenging spells now came easily to him. The icing on the cake was that with the mage here, he had access to someone who was at least semi trained in this worlds magic.

"This is amazing." He thought. "A good nights sleep, and I'll be almost as good as new." He walked over to the mage, prying his eyes open and using legilimency, taking all the memories the mage had on this worlds magic. Standing up, he took a deep breath and released it, waving his wand he cast diffendo cutting the mages neck and vanishing the remains.

He turned to leave and then jumped to the side to avoid some rubble flying towards his head. Turning around, he saw two more figures in armor. The armor was red and black, with many straps and buckles running down the chest and across the waist. Both of the mages had a cowl with protective leather. One of the mages had a face cover, and the other didn't. Going by the feel, each piece was also enchanted.

"I underestimated you guys." Harry admitted."I only sensed the one." He slowly drew his wand the two mages tensed. Then one attacked his mind and the other cast Jierda. Thanks to his newly acquired knowledge of the language, he knew that the mage was trying to throw him back, possibly breaking some of his bones.

He was thrown from his feet and hit the door behind him, almost knocking him out. Just managing to stay conscious, he threw the banishing spell back at the spell caster. The mage was surprised at the light effect of his spell and did not move in time. The banishing spell threw the spell caster back, sending him rolling over the ground.

The one attacking his mind finally gave up and cast Jierda thierra kalfis! Casting protego as soon as he heard the mage begin to cast the sheild rippled and let of a gong as it blocked the spell. The mage was so surprised that he stopped and stared at the shield, allowing Harry to cast a silent Sectumsempra.

Three lines were gouged out in the mages body spraying blood going threw the mages wards and enchantments on his clothes. The mage that he had sent rolling across the ground finally stood back up just in time to see his companion fall.

Looking at the last mage, Harry said with confidence. "And then there was one." Immediately diving behind some of the equipment managing to dodge the spell the mage had cast. Peaking over the equipment, he sent a Depulso back the mage, having experienced it before dodging the spell. While sending a spell back throwing the equipment, Harry was hiding behind into him.

The mage ran to the side trying to circle around to get a clean shot at Harry. Rolling from his forced fall, Harry stood back to his feet and ran in the opposite direction the mage was running. They ended up running circles around each other, flinging spells back and forth, slowly edging closer.

Once they were within arms reach the mage surprised him by punching out. Managing to land a clean right hook to his face. The shock from the punch made him drop his wand. Reeling back from the hit Harry did not resist the momentum and used it to his advantage. Spinning around delivering a back fist his opponent ducked under.

Right into the rising knee, Harry had followed up with shattering the mages nose. Taking his chance while the mage was reeling back from the pain, his eyes were watering. Harry dived to his wand, snatching it up from the ground and shooting a peircing hex to the mages' forehead.

The mage dropped bonelessly to the ground with a quarter size hole in his head. Harry sagged to the ground breathing a sigh of relief. Sitting there for a few minutes he eventually groaned and stood up heading for the door.

Leaving the building, he saw that it was dark, "Huh, that took longer than I thought." He said calmly. He started down the street, heading to Helens' house. Once he saw it, he sighed in relief. Entering the house, he called "Helen I'm back." "We are in the kitchen." She called back. Entering the kitchen, the first thing he saw was the bookstore owner talking with Helen. Then he felt an unnatural fear freezing him in place.

He felt like passing out when he heard a hissing voice behind him.

"Issss this the one?" He heard the voice ask.

"Yeah, that's him." The bookstore owner replied. While standing up.

"What's the meaning of this?!" Helen demanded.

"Your patient is a magician, and any information on magicians not allied with the empire is greatly rewarded."

The bookstore owner said with a greedy gleam in his eye.

"Greedy bastard." Harry thought. As he started to fall to the floor, he summoned a knife. It flew through the air until it landed in the old mans back. He gasped before falling to his knees and then to the floor.

Rolling with his fall, Harry pulled out his wand and cast a barrage of spells at the voice behind him. The creatures were far faster, then his spells could travel through the air and had no trouble dodging them. Running by Helen, he grabbed her hand and pulled her with him, flinging more spells behind him to slow the creatures down. When they got to his room, he barricaded the door and pushed Helen to the window.

With the door shaking from the force of the creatures blows as they tried to break it down. He gently floated Helen through the window and to the ground. Once she was there, he released the spell just in time as the door broke and the creatures swarmed into the room. Running and dodging around the room as Harry silently cast spells as fast as he could.

His reflexes were the only thing saving him from being knocked out, enabling him to dodge the worst of their blows and move with some speed around the room. Eventually, he made his way back to the window, and with a bellowed Reducto, he blew up the room, sending the creatures into the walls.

Turning back to the window, he quickly made his way through the window and up to the roof. Looking around, he started towards the exit facing the road when the creatures burst through the weakend roof. With no other choice he took off towards the edge of the roof reaching the edge he leaped to the next roof. Stumbling when he landed he quickly got his feet back under him and ran across the roof. The sounds of the creatures catching up behind him were the only motivation he needed to find his center of balance and run faster.

Leaping to the next roof he flung and spell he could think of to slow his pursuers down. From the brief scream he heard his glacius managed to send one of them off the roof. Leaping to the next he miss timed it and hit the side of the building scrambling he managed to grab the edge of the roof and pull himself up.

This little delay though gave his pursuer time to catch up. By the time he managed to stand up the creature was on the same roof behind him. Running as fast as his legs could take him he made it to the edge and jumped with all his strength. He felt the creature grab on to him in mid air holding on to him as they crashed onto the next roof.

Rolling with the tackle Harry managed to slide loose from the creatures grip. Reaching his feet he cast depulso at the creature. It managed to dodge the spell at the last moment using its arms to push itself into the air. Landing on its feet it drew its sword setting into a stance. Holding his wand in a fencing stance he made the first move. Sending a spell at the roof top spikes erupted from the roof heading towards the creature.

Leaping over the spikes the creature charged him swinging its sword far faster then Harry could follow with his eyes. Trusting his instincts he jumped back dodging the blade sending a spell back. They battled back and forth like that for what felt like hours to Harry his breath heaving and his limbs feeling heavy.

Eventually, he was to tired and made a mistake. Standing still too long, the only warning he had was a flash of silver, and his wand was in two pieces. The second creature had managed to scale the building and come up behind him.

The shock of seeing his loyal wand severed in two agian shocked him into inattention, letting the creature get close enough to punch him. The punch lifted him off his feet and sent him flying back, rolling with the momentum Harry managed to get back to his feet. Looking at the two creatures, the one he was fighting was barely breathing hard. The second was completly rested.

He knew it was futile, but he stood back up and raised his hands, curling them into fists. The creatures sheathed their swords and split apart, walking in opposite directions around him. The one on the left charged him swinging its fist at his temple. Stepping back to dodge the swing, Harry rotated his hips to build the maximum force for his punch. He hit the creature where a humans' liver would be the creature did not flinch. The only reward he got from his hit was a dull thud and his fist hurting.

He brought his leg up and kicked the creature in front of him, sending it stumbling back. He rapidly back peddled to dodge the swings and kicks of the second creature backing up to a wall. Swinging with all his remaining strength, he hit the creatures chest only for it to catch his arm, pulling it straight while launching a kick to his chest. The force of the kick knocked the air out of him falling to one knee he heard foot steps.

Turning to the sound he raised his head up only for the second creature to land a punch forcing his head back down. He used his free arm to cast the strongest Depulso he could at the creature holding his other arm. Freeing himself he jumped to his feet just in time to catch a spartan kick to the chest from the other creature. The force of the kick sent him into the wall behind him smacking the back of his head on the wall.

Sliding down the wall, the last thing he could hear was one of the creatures saying. To grab the old mans body, he would make for a satisfying snack on the way back. "Serves the bastard right." Was Harrys last conscious thought before he passed out.
