David heads downstairs and he sees Star and Pacifica sitting at the dining table. David went to them and sat right next to Pacifica as Marco placed plates of food in front of them.
"So what news, fam? Got any new recruits lately? Or are we gonna go out tonight?"
"Actually, We do have a new person on the start of our exploration in to Babel" Marco answered
"Sweet, can't wait to meet them"
"But on the count of Marco's injury, I'll stay with him at the entrance and provide support."
Marco noticed that Star cheek marks returned which surprised him but he kept it to himself.
"Let's meet up tonight and get the ball rolling."
Everyone nodded in agreement and they continued eating their breakfast.

Morning, School
David is sitting on his chair and listening intently to the lecture which made his intelligence improve. He then felt a tap behind him and looked behind him and saw that it was his classmates.
"Hey, didn't you hear?"
"About?"
"Clubs are open for recruitment, if I were you, I'd probably go back. Just saying"
David thought about it for a bit and went back to listen to the lecture.

Afterschool
David is in the front of a corkboard with a bunch of paper pinned on it. The one of paper his interested in is the recruitment for clubs.
He sees there is a list of clubs that are available to join
- Photography
- Cheerleading
- Soccer
- Art
- Chess
He decided to join the cheerleading club. He looks at the flyer for the cheerleading club and sees that the try out is being held at the gym. He took a small piece of paper on the flyer and he went to the gym.
He reaches the gym and goes inside to see that there's a long line with a bratty girl behind a desk, harshly and loudly rejecting people. She has long black hair with pink lipstick and is wearing the Echo Creek Academy cheerleading uniform.
He goes the line and waits for his turn. As the line is ever decreasing, the number of people being discouraged and crying is ever increasing.
After a few heartbroken people, it's his turn to be judged by her, who is typing at her phone, she glanced at him a bit then went back to her phone.
"You're in," she said as she pulls out a paper and hands it to him "handsome"
He takes the paper and fills it up with his details. He finished putting his detail and hands it back to him.
"Our practice is on Saturday and Sunday but we can also have a full week of practice if there is a grand event like football and whatnot. Welcome to the team, handsome." She explains while having a certain look on her face.
"The name is Brianna Wong and be sure to come, okay handsome?"
David nodded and leaves but before he could go, Brianna stopped him and put a small piece of paper on his hand.
"Call me.." she said seductively
David looked at the paper on his hand which was her phone number and he pocketed it.
He heard a voice within him and felt a warm feeling inside

He leaves the gym and heads to the town. He decided to go to Busy eyes and return the book. He enters the store and he brings out his book and gives it to Meteora when he gets closer.
"Thank you for returning the book. I would suggest that you read another but it's your choice. By the way, Me and Mari are going to a concert later in a monster town, Love Sentence is playing and Mari wants you to hangout with us. Is that okay with you?"
David thought about it for a bit and decided that he would join them.
"You sure? You probably need to do your homework"
"Fine..."
"Alright, we'll meet at exactly, 4:00. So I'll probably close up shop early. That being said, are you going to read another book?"
David nodded and Meteora brought back the books she showed before. He picked 'Emotion Engine' and paid 20 bucks for this one.

Evening
David is right beside the entrance of the ticket booth as he waited for his aunts to show. He is in his 2nd casual outfit which is a white and blue polo shirt and a wrist watch, black trousers with black and white sneakers.
He checks his watch for the time and puts it down. He waited for a few minutes and they arrived with love sentence merch.
"Yo! David." Mariposa greets him "nice to see you come here. Though I doubt you really like Love Sentence."
"Highly likely but he did accept the invite. It would be rude if we judge him."
"Just saying...anyway, we should probably head in. I purchased the tickets online, so that we won't wait for it and it's front row seats.i even brought "
"Prepared as always. Though you-" Before Meteora says anything, Mari pulls a love sentence t-shirt from nowhere and a wrist band of Love Sentence. " Never mind."
"Here ya go, David, this for you." She said as he hands over the merch to David which he accepted and wears it.
"Alright, let's head in."
David nodded and they went into the concert but before he could enter, a voice within him has spoken

They all had a great time with the concert and David's emotions improved with the concert.

David heads back home after the concert. He enters the living room and he sees that Pacifica and Star are watching something on the tv.
"Oh hey, welcome back." Pacifica greets you "you arrived late"
"Where were you?" Star asked
"Concert..."
"A concert? I didn't think you were the type to be interested in one." Pacifica comments
"Yeah but who were you with?"
"Aunts..."
"Really? I'm guessing it's a love sentence concert, she has been texting me about it but I had no time. It's nice to see you hanging out with people. Just like when I was a kid. When I was a kid, I always said, strangers are just friends you haven't met."
"That's kinda dangerous don't you think?"
"Ehhh I was fine besides I can kick their butts if things get too hairy."
"S-sure, I guess"
"Anyway, you're probably hungry, there is some leftovers in the microwave. Help yourself to some."
"Okay..."
He then heads for the kitchen and eats some of the leftovers which was pizza and he ate his slice.
After eating his pizza, he went up the stairs to his room and worked on his homework.
As he was doing his homework, his intelligence improved to another level from fool to average.

After he does his homework, he checks o6n weapon in his mirror. He puts on the belt holster for his sword and scabbard. He removed his red hoodie and replaced it with a reinforced black jacket.
He then heard a knock from his door and he went to it and opened it to reveal that it was Star holding a particular item. The item in question is a stick with a large ball on top that is decorated in purple with white wings, but the wings are softer-edged and resemble butterfly wings with Persian blue hearts. The faceplate consists of a light-blue circle with a pentagonal pattern, a whole gold star, and five pink hearts. The grip has diagonal purple and dark purple stripes. two red horns on the top, there is a red heart between the bell and grip.
"Hey, son, nice jacket." She points out "I got a gift for you for dipping down"
"What?"
"This is a family heirloom, it's the Royal Magic Wand. Technically I don't really own this but Eclipsa made it an exception for my family. Now it's yours." She said and after that long monologue, she handed it to him.
David accepted it and it started to change into his ideal wand. The wand changed into a pure white color scheme with blue lines in a diagonal pattern wall the way to the handle. On the top of the wand is a Halo instead of a crown. on the side it resembles angel wings. The faceplate has a crecent moon in a heart which is surrounded by a space-like background and behind the heart is a white glow with some dots on the glow. On the bottom is a diamond shaped crystal with a wave pattern on the surface of the crystal.
"Would you look at that, yours looks so cute. It even has a cute little halo on it." She said in a cutesy voice.
"I...guess"
"Alrighty, make sure you prepare your gear and head downstairs. Our night operations will start soon" she said lastly as she kissed his forehead and left him but came back for last saying
"Oh, by the way, the new member will be here soon, so make sure you prepare quickly, okay?"
"Okay..."
Star smiled at his response and she left him on his own.
He closed his door and made sure that he had everything he needed.

After a few minutes of checking his needed items, he heads downstairs. As he was heading downstairs, he was called by his dad ,who was in the front door waiting with Pacifica also waiting, and David went to his dad and Pacifica. Besides His dad, there is a large backpack with an antenna poking out the slit of the back.
"Good, you're here."
"What's this about? I was about to do my homework." Pacifica said
" I thought you would be more excited to meet our new member"
"I am but...I'm really slacking on my homework, so..."
"You have time for that. Right now, he'll be here"
"He?"
As she said that, the door bell rang and they redirected their attention to the door.
"Nice timing"
Marco then opens the door to reveal it was James with a goofy smile on his face and all the excitement from Pacifica drains as soon as she sees it was him.
"Hehe sup"
"Really?.." she said
"Aww , why the cold shoulder, Paci? Is it because of the ocean blues?"
"Even a nickname? Please kill me."
"Hehe"
"Looks like you've met. Well guessing that David was in a week coma, it's not surprising that you two met but I'll introduce him anyway, this is James Lucitor and he'll be our new member of our group and he'll also be a temporary replacement for me."
"Don't worry, I'll be your knight on this hidden night, eh get it?"
Pacifica just groans and David just stared blankly at him.
"Anyway, it's nice to see ya being this active, David. After that incident, I was just about to give one of my souls for you"
"Soul?" Pacifica was taken aback from what James said.
"Oh you don't know? I'm a demon,well quarter half demon, my dad is a half demon."
"I'm surprised that a demon can even make an innocent pun"
"Whoa hey, I resent that!"
"Find..."
"Huh? Are you asking how uncle found me?" He nervously asked
"Yeah, I'm also curious, this gonna be good." she second with a smirk on her face.
"W-well...um...h-he found me...crying...in the park... surrounded by a bunch of frozen people and b-blobs" he answered nervously "it was...an experience...but hey, at least I'm not alone on this one. Also I didn't even know you even had a group for this."
"But you know, I gotta ask, what is your group name?" He asked Marco
"Well, the thing is that, we haven't settled on a name before. We destroyed the blobs and it was done. There are more members than us but they seem pretty busy at the moment."
"No name huh? Well, we can figure that out later. Right now, I'm raring to kick blob butts"
"Then it's settled, we'll be going to Babel and get our gear on."
"Babel? What's that? Sounds like babies wear.."
"You seriously haven't seen it yet?" Pacifica butts in "here I thought that you're a demon"
"Quarter demon..."
"It might be the key to the whole Hidden Hour or as it would seem to be." Marco comments
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
Marco agreed alongside his son and Pacifica and they prepare for the hole on the ground.

11:57
They all arrived at the gates for the forest of certain death with some of the members wearing their gear.
Pacifica is using a more metallic looking bow.
James has a long sword behind him.
David is wearing the jacket and his sword on his hip.
"The forest? This is the place?I mean, it's not the Neverzone swamp but the forest? This is a picnic area"
"Just wait, it's almost midnight" Marco said
He then pulls out his phone and checks on the clock as it gets closer to 12:00. As it inch closer to 12, the atmosphere slowly changes and light fog starts creeping in and the waxing crescent Moon being more visible
James was in shock and awe for what was happening then suddenly the ground rumbled as the forest changed it to Babel.
James then went to full blown panic as he saw the forest change into a hole on the ground with a bunch of demonic screams and massive arches throughout the hole.
"What the?! The heck happened to the forest?!" James asked in a panicked voice
"This is Babel, the nest"
"What do you mean the nest?! How the heck did this happen?!"
"There was a report of an explosion here. It was a disastrous event and this place might be key to the syndrome but we aren't sure yet but it did lessen the syndrome when the Big Eater we fought last time." Star explains
"Eaters? Are those blobly thingy?"
"Yep, though the syndrome has risen again. So that's why this is gonna be the answer to it."
"Huh..."
"Well enough, info dumping. Let's head inside." Star said.
They all went into Babel and stopped at the front of the stairs leading to the clock. James was in awe to see the clock and field for the clock.
"Man, that's a large clock and that was what she said." James joked which Marco chuckled and Pacifica to groan and Star to confused.
"Ugh...that was lame."
"Anyway, On the count of me still being injured, we need someone to temporarily lead this operation."
"Lead? Like a leader! Ohh pick me! Pick me! I ain't gonna disappoint!" James said with an excited tone
"Err..." Marco hesitated to say "I'll pick David for this"
"What! Him!? What is this nepotism crud!? He doesn't look like one!" James complained
"Just calm down, he had more experience fighting the Eaters." Pacifica explained
"Seriously?" He said in a surprised voice "but didn't you also fought them before?"
"Uhhhh...about that-"
"For bravity sake, she joined the fight. The reason for David to be the leader is simple: he has more control with his quote on quote emotions."
"James...and you too, Pacifica... Can you do this? I ain't blaming you two if you can't."
"Y-yeah...I can" James said with a bit of hesitation
"Me too" Pacifica said bluntly
"These are Eaters we are talking about, if you lose your nerve, you'll get hurt or worse. I'll ask again, Can you do this?"
"If he can do it, so can I!" James proclaimed
"I can do it too."
"Alright, time to head out. you ready , son?"
"Yes..."
"We'll be right with you, David" Pacifica assured while placing her hand on his shoulder "now, let's go and kick some butt!"
"I can get behind that!" James said.
"Before you go, you need this." He brings out three ear pieces and the trio wears the pieces
"Ear pieces? Probably a good idea." Pacifica asked
"So, I can keep in touch with what is happening."
"Alright, secret servicing up this place.
They place the ear piece on their respective ear and they look at each other to see how it looks.
"Dang, we really look like secret agents but you know, just cooler."
"That's hard to believe. Anyway, let's get this party started!"
Before they could go to the stairs, David felt something appeared in his pocket and went to pull it out to see it's a purple crystal with a golden key on the top of it.
He then turns to the left and sees that there is a floating glowing window with a keyhole in the middle.
"Hey, you alright?" Pacifica asked but she was ignored as David proceeded to the window.
He reaches the window and inserts the key into the hole and the window extends into a door and he goes inside.

David opens his eyes and sees that his in the high commission room.
"Welcome back, David. I see that you received my little gift" Glossaryck said "Wonderful ain't it? That key is your only access to this dimension. Now, the giant hole that you are going to venture into...who knows what secret lies about the hole. The purpose is yet unknown but in due time, you'll find out. That's why, it's imperative to understand your power."
"Power?"
"To put it simply, you are the magic" he said as he emphasized the word magic.
"What does that mean? I don't know and it's up to you to figure it out but it doesn't take away that you will grow alongside the people you'll encounter. Now, my time is limited...and you need to explore the hole. I'll see you next later, David"

Back at the entrance
David blinked a few times and he realized that he is back in front of the window. He turns around and sees that everyone was staring at him.
"..."
"..."
"You okay?" Pacifica asked while she pokes his cheek.
"Yes..."
"Why are staring at nothing? Come on bud, don't be scared."
"His probably thinking about a plan. Now get your butts moving to the clock. Times a ticking!"
"Hehe" James chuckled at unintentional pun.
David glanced back to the window for a bit before him and his teammates went to the stairs and headed into the portal. Star sees them walk into the portal with a proud and nostalgic smile.
"Look at them go" Star said "just like when we were kids. Going off on an adventure"
She sees Marco unpacking the contents out of the backpack and sets up an old frequency radio and a sonar mapping device.
"I see that you set up the thingy. You know, i could use the all-seeing eye spell and see them that way. If I can only remember what the spell was." Star suggested
"You could but it'll distract them to see if there is a floating eye with your face on it. Besides, this is far more safer than that spell on the count of you not remembering."
"Fine...party pooper...Imma still do it" She sulked but immediately perked up when she was doing her spell.

Inside the top layer of the hole, the current layer looks like a distorted science research floor with the floor looking a bit cluttered with a bunch of paper and rubble scattered around the floor. The walls are covered in moss and exposed piping from the walls and the windows peering the outside but it's only emitting a blue light. The atmosphere of the place is dreary and has an abandoned feeling throughout the layer.
"Man, this is creepy and I'm a demon too."
"No kidding, it's like we walk through a haunted house."
"Can you hear me?" A voice on their ear piece speaks.
"Hey, is that you, uncle?" James asked
"Yep, from here, I'll be your audio backup for now."
"Wait...you're saying that you can see this place? How?"
"I have a radio frequency device that tunes to your pieces and also a sonar device to scan the layer as you walk around."
"We haven't known a lot of the layers of the Babel. So, this'll be the first we'll see in action"
"Lucky, Star has her magic, so she can guard the outside. Anyway, from your current location, there are some enemies throughout the layer. So be ready and proceed with caution."
"Gotcha, Boss"
"Loud and clear, Boss"
"Okay, why are you calling Boss all of a sudden? Whatever, just proceed with caution"
Then the ear piece went silent. They nodded to each other and proceeded to the layer.
Before they could proceed, a large eye appeared out of nowhere with Star behind the eye and this caused Pacifica and James to jump in surprise.
"Finally!"
"Ahh!"
"Whoa!"
"Hey, guys. Finally remembered what the spell was."
"Mayor? What is this?" She asked as she pokes the spell.
"It's the all-seeing eye spell, it spies to whoever I need to spy on."
"That's kinda creepy." James said
"Eh, don't worry, just pretend I'm not here" she said.
"Sure..."
A montage of them fighting, the Eaters with David doing a decent job of directing his team members with a bit of a struggle to say the words.
David runs towards an Eater and slashes it until it disintegrates. He then pulls out the wand and speaks out a spell.
"Gambit Shuffle ..." And out came four large spinning cards from the wand and cut up the other Eaters.

Pacifica then pulls back her bow and releases the arrow and it pierces the eater to make it disintegrate.
"Alright! Score one for us! Now, all we need is a name..."
A eater was about to sneak up on her but she shot it while not looking.
"Yeah" she said while feeling proud of herself "I pulled that"

James swings his sword widely and cuts up the eater from afar. He then senses something behind and he instinctively places his hand over his shoulder and flame came out of his hand which surprised him and at the same time, burns the eater.
"Whoa! I can do that?! That is so awesome! All the fire puns I can do with it too. Alright, you weenies, time to cook you all up!"
He then used his flames to burn up the remaining Eaters with a confident smile.

After a few more fights and exploring the layer. They find a strange look platform with a terminal on it.
"Hey, we found a strange platform here" James said
"A platform? Star, can you go there and see what the device is?"
"You got it"
A floating eye..floats to see the platform and Marco sees it through the spell.
"It's some kinda teleporter or something. How about you guys try and stand on it."
David went to the platform and it lit up with the terminal displays a menu of Babel and the current layer they are on.
"Okay...it's a teleporter then. How about y'all comeback and take a rest? We'll go deeper next time."
"Fine by me" James said as he goes to the platform
"I could use a break." Pacifica said, as she also went to the platform.
David taps on the last part of the list on the menu named Entrance and the platform starts glowing blue and they start to be teleported.

Back to the entrance
The trio started appearing in a newly constructed platform besides the stairs.
They hopped out of the platform and walked to Star and Marco.
"That was an excellent performance." Marco praise
"Yeah, you were all so awesome. And that teamwork was on point. So, how was it?"
"Tiring..."
"It was a lot of fun but man...I'm tired"
"What were you expecting when you were jumping like a kid with sugar rush" Pacifica retorts
"Aww come on, Paci, you look tired yourself." James points out
"This is so weird...why is it hard to breathe all of a sudden?"
"That's the effect of the Hidden Hour, it fatigues the body more easily. You'll get used to it with all the operations we'll do." Marco explains
"But color me surprise..you all hold up much better than we were. at this rate, you will be able to handle this better than us."
"I would go that far" Star said
"Anyway, let's head back. We'll have a discussion tomorrow with all of the members, if they have the time."
"Sweetness, I'm about to crash on my bed like a meteorite." James stated
"I'm taking a bath first. I ain't gonna be stinky when I sleep."
David felt a deep connection with anyone and his emotions greatly improved and something inside of him felt warm as a voice echo throughout his head

They exited Babel and went back home for the night and they went to sleep.

May 21 Wednesday
Morning
David walks to school feeling a bit tired but powers through. Before he could enter the school, he overheard two of his schoolmates talking.
"Hey, you heard about the martial arts club? That guy is setting a record."
"Yeah, I heard of that, they say his undefeated but that's just an exaggeration."
"Nah, man, it's true. I've seen some of his matches and his a real deal."
"If you say so..."
After that conversation, David moved on an went to his class.

Afterschool
David packed up his things and left the classroom but before he could leave, Pacifica blocked him from leave the classroom.
"Hey, Bud. You free today?"
"Yes..."
"Yes!" She shouted but she quickly realized what she said "I-i mean...great...can we go now? I know a place where we could hang out."
David nodded and they left the school and went to a hangout spot that Pacifica suggested which was the park that has a cliff that overlooks the city and a singular tree on the cliff.
The two are sitting under the tree and look at the city.
"This is nice huh? Sitting here and seeing the city in a high place. Really puts in perspective."
"To..What?"
"Duh, the beauty of Echo Creek. I mean, look at the city, full of secrets, people going about their business, and most important of all, their happiness."
"Happiness?"
"Yeah happiness, to be honest, it's probably the only thing that keeps them going. Well atleast I think so."
"Anyway, what are your hobbies?"
"Huh?"
"What are your hobbies? I wanna know you better, so what are they?"
"Nothing..."
"Aww come on, I know you have one. Don't be so modest about it." She said
"Reading..."
"Reading eh? I can see it. For me, my hobbies are long walks at the beach, candle lit dinner and...no wait that's a date..moving on, I really like archery that's one of my hobbies."
"Archery..."
"Yeah, it's been my hobby since I was a little kid because of a show I use to watch. I think it was called Lone Star Rangers and if I remember correctly, it's about a group of cowboys in space that fights a bunch of ailen that are criminals. One of them uses cool looking bow that she uses lazer arrows, it was so cool!"
David felt his relationship deep from her rambling about her childhood alongside his emotions improved.

"Oh, by the way, wanna grab a bite to eat? All this talking is making me hungry."
They then went to get a goblin dog and they continued to learn about each other, mostly about Pacifica and after that they, went back home.

Evening
David is in his room and doing his homework until he got interrupted by a door knock and he went to answer the door.
He opens the door to reveal it was his Dad.
"Hey son, uhhhh..sorry for making you the leader, I hope I don't burden you with too much responsibility. Look I get it if you don't want to become a temporary leader. I'd probably make Pacifica the leader."
"It's...fine..."
"Are you sure?"
David nods and Marco sighs in relief. Marco then puts his hand on David's shoulder and flashes him a smile.
"Glad to hear it. Remember the meeting okay? I'll see you there."
After that, he left David to complete his homework until it was time to have a meet with the other members.

Night
David is scrolling through his phone until He got a notification from his phone to his mom that says.
/ Hey, head on down, we got a meeting. Love your cool mom/
He turns off his phone and he heads downstairs.
Heading downstairs, he noticed that there are a lot of familiar people in the living room with some people that he hasn't seen a long time.
Namely, Uncle Tom Lucitor and his grandfather River Johansen.
"David! My dear boy!" River shouted as he ran to David and proceeded to bear hug him "it's so good to see you, again. Look how much you've grown!"
"River, I think your hurting our grand son" Said Moon with a worried tone on her voice.
"Oh don't be silly, Moonpie, he has the Johansen blood in him! Look him, his not bothered by it."
"He may not look like it but you know his condition, River"
"I know, I know" he said sadly as he lets get off David "maybe a little pain and the Johansen hug might elicit a reaction but it seems it didn't work...well it's worth a try!" He said lastly as he saunters back to Moon.
"Anyway, it seems that everyone is here." Marco stated "i can say that our meeting is now in session."
David walks to a empty seat by Pacifica side and Marco clears his throat.
"Now, let's talk about our name as a group. You suggested a lot of names and I've taken some consideration to what names that would best fit us which narrowed it down to these" He said as he brings out a small cup filled with paper strips.
"Okay, go ahead and pick a name"
Some of the members pick from the cup and read what's on the paper strips and their reaction was...less that desirable to Marco but he didn't noticed.
"I know, I'm a name genius." He confidently said "go ahead and pick one"
"Well..." Pacifica hesitated to speak
"These names suck" Mariposa said while picking up three other paper strips. "like, Marco's Allies, Marco's Group, Marco's pack? Bro, this is all of your names. Can you atleast make one that isn't your name?"
"What?" He said confused as he checks every paper strips. "Hey, I didn't do this! I wrote down a lot of good names, like Night Watchers or Moon Defender. Not my name! Okay who...is Janna isn't it?"
Marco then turns to Janna holding a cup with paper strips in it.
"You never change.."
"Thank you, Marco" she said as she gave the cup to Marco.
"Now, pick one." Marco said as the other members pick a paper strip and read what's on the paper.
"Okay, now this is a great name." Mariposa said as she shows the name / Night Runners /
"Night Runners? That sounds like we're gonna race the Eaters." Meteora commented "how about this, Twilight Mob."
"How about this, Midnight Elites. It has a good ring to it." Eclipsa suggested while holding her paper.
"It does but how about, Midnight Rainbows!" Star suggested as she shows her paper.
"Wait, it didn't put that there.."
"I made it"
They all discussed about what names of there group be with the exception of Janna, David, And Moon.
After a lengthy discussion, they decided on a name for there team.
"Alright, after that discussion, it seems that we all picked...The Midnight Execution Squad or M.E.S for short. Any objects?"
They nodded in agreement except for Mariposa who objected but Meteora elbowed her to stopped which caused Mariposa to reluctantly agree.
"Okay, I call this meeting adjourn" Marco said as he clasped his hands together "you guys are free to stay for a bit if you like to."
