Episode 308: Brandon the Pyramid King
A couple of days have passed since the Purika Pokémon Contest on Izabe Island, Sora, Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Michael, Lisia, Zinnia, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Aster have continued their island hopping and they did some training. And that's when they noticed a structure flying over their heads.
"What is that?" Zinnia asked.
"I don't know, but it's heading in that direction," Aqua said.
"Let's follow it and see what it is," Ventus said.
Everyone agreed and they went in the direction the flying structure was heading. The structure was making a landing. When they finally reached it, they were at awe when they were looking right at it. It turns out to be a giant pyramid.
"What is it?" Michael asked.
"The Battle Pyramid," a voice said. Everyone turned to see a young man with orange eyes and blue hair. He wore a white shirt, green shorts, and a pair of red shoes. "This is the Battle Frontier facility that's never in the same place. It's always moving around."
"So this is the last Battle Frontier facility," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Are you taking part of the Battle Frontier, by any chance?" Sora asked.
"You bet your spiky hair, that I am. I'm here to challenge Brandon, the Pyramid King to a battle and earn my last Frontier Symbol," the young man said.
"You got six already?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah. Have a look," the young man said, showing them the Frontier Symbols he won. "Awesome, right?"
"Wow. You got six out of seven," Lisia said.
"You must have worked hard to make it all the way to the way to challenge the Battle Pyramid," Aqua said.
"Pretty hard, bluebird. Any of you taking part of the Battle Pyramid, yourselves?" The young man asked.
"I am. And I won all these," Sora said, showing him his Frontier Symbols.
"Hm. Not too shabby, shorty," the young man said as the doors opened and another man stepped out, wearing an explorer's outfit.
"Excuse me, but are any of you here to challenge the Pyramid King Brandon?" The man asked.
"We both are," Sora said, gesturing to the young man.
"May I have your names?" The man requested.
"My name is Isaac. I came from Spikemuth in the Galar region," Isaac said.
"And my name's Sora and I came from Pallet Town," Sora said.
"Alright, Isaac and Sora. Which one of you will be battling first?" The man asked.
"That'll be me," Isaac quickly answered before Sora could speak up. Just then, a familiar face stepped out of the Battle Pyramid.
"Well, lookie here. If it isn't it Isaac, Sora, and the gang," Scott said.
"Scott?" Sora asked.
"Looks like you found the Battle Pyramid without any problems at all. Congratulations," Scott said.
"Actually, we kinda found it by accident," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"You met Isaac, too?" Karen asked.
"Yes, I did. I caught a glimpse of his battling skills and I invited him to the Battle Frontier, same as Sora. I never expected the both of them to make it here at the same time," Scott said.
"I got interested in the Battle Frontier, so I battled my way through the Hoenn region, taking on the Frontier Brains, and earning the Frontier Symbols," Isaac said.
"I don't doubt how good you are, man. Good luck in your match," Sora said.
"Um, thanks. Sora, wasn't it?" Isaac asked.
"Yeah," Sora said.
"Just so you know, I ain't going to need luck," Isaac said.
With that said, the man leads the group inside the Battle Pyramid and right to the battlefield.
"Wow, look at this," Zinnia said.
"It looked impressive outside, but this is something else," Terra said.
"So, where's Brandon?" Isaac asked.
"Oh, he'll be in shortly," the man said.
Just then, the man who saw the Storm Rider fly towards a mountain stepped in the battlefield. He spotted the group.
"I trust your outing was successful, Brandon," the man asked.
"Yes. And these would be?" Brandon asked.
"These two boys, Sora and Isaac have come to challenge you to a battle, but Isaac has spoken up first, so it'll be official," the man said.
"It's true. I've been looking forward to this match for a long time," Isaac said.
"I don't doubt it, young man," Brandon said, looking at the group. "Which one of you is Sora?"
"That's me," Sora said, raising his hand. He glanced right at Sora. "Like him, I battled the other Frontier Brains and earned the Frontier Symbols from each one of them."
"If that's the case, then I will have to ask that you wait until the battle with Isaac has concluded," Brandon requested.
"Not a problem," Sora said.
"Also, I would like for you to sit in the bleachers for the duration of the battle," the man requested.
"Okay," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Eevee," Celeste said.
"This'll be good," Zinnia said.
"Whismur," Aster said.
"Thank you, Samuel," Brandon said.
With that said, both Brandon and Isaac have taken their positions on the battlefield as Samuel has taken his position as the referee of the battle.
"The official Battle Frontier battle between the Pyramid King Brandon and Isaac from Spikemuth is about to begin! Each Trainer will be using three Pokémon each! For the duration of the battle, only the challenger is allowed to make substitutions at anytime, and the battle will be over when all three of either the challger's or the Pyramid King's Pokémon are unable to continue battling! Choose your Pokémon and begin!" The referee shouted. Brandon took out an Ultra Ball and threw it.
"Regirock! I need your assistance!" Brandon shouted. His Ultra Ball opened and Regirock emerged from inside.
"A Regirock?!" Sora exclaimed in shocked. Karen took out her Rotom Phone and scanned it.
Regirock, the Rock Peak Pokémon
Type: Rock
Regirock's entire body is made out made out stone. When it loses a limb, it will stick rocks on itself to repair itself.
"Sora, didn't you catch a Regirock?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah, but that Regirock seems different from the one I caught," Sora said. Isaac took out a Great Ball and threw it.
"Sirfetch'd! Go!" Isaac called out. His Great Ball opened and his Sirfetch'd emerged inside, ready to battle.
"Wow, that's a Sirfech'd?" Lisia asked.
"Let's see," Karen said, taking out her Rotom Phone again.
Sirfetch'd, the Wild Duck Pokémon
The evolved form of Farfecth'd Galarian Form
Type: Fighting
Only Galarian Farfetch'd who survives hard, grueling battles can reach this evolution. The leaf shield it holds is used to deflect attacks and strikes at its enemy with the leek like a sword.
"Sirfetch'd should have the advantage since it's a Fighting-type," Michael said.
"Yeah, but Regirock is a high level Pokémon, so Isaac would have to hit it with strong enough attacks to bring it down," Scott said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Xipak said.
"Sirefetch'd! Use Leaf Blade!" Isaac ordered. Sirfetch'd rushes as its leek gave off a green glow and lands a hit on it, but it was still standing on its feet.
"Use Focus Punch!" Brandon ordered. Regirock came at Regirock, building it its focus.
"Dodge it and use Brick Break!" Isaac ordered. Sirfetch'd jumped out of the way and lands a hit with its leek. Regirock loses its focus and canceled out the Focus Punch. "Meteor Assault!" Sirfetch'd's shield flashes and yellow sparks surround it before a yellow aura surrounds the leek and Sirfetch'd. It then charges forward and stabs Regirock with its leek at full force.
"That did some heavy damage!" Ventus said.
"Yeah, but it's still standing," Michael said.
"Regirock! Hyper Beam!" Brandon ordered. Regirock fired Hyper Beam, striking Sirfetch'd before Isaac could tell it to dodge. Sirfetch'd had been knocked out.
"Sirfetch'd is unable to battle! Regirock wins!" Samuel announced.
"Wow, that Regirock is strong," Lisia said.
"It sure is. Sirfetch'd lost even with a type advantage," Zinnia said.
"What did you expect? Regirock isn't an easy opponent to beat. He's gonna have to try really hard if he wanna keep going," Scott said.
"Let's see what else he got up his sleeve," Terra said. Isaac calls his Sirfetch'd back and took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn now, Perrserker!" Isaac called out. His Pokéball opened and a Perserker emerged from inside, ready to battle. Karen took out her Rotom Phone and scanned it.
Perrserker, the Viking Pokémon
The evolved form of Meowth Galarian Form
Type: Steel
Perrserker's claws are very dangerous weapons that come together as daggers.
"Perrserker, another Galarian Pokémon," Ventus said.
"Regirock is at a disadvantage again," Zinnia said.
"Maybe, but don't forget that Brandon's Regirock won't be taken down so easily," Scott said.
"Metal Claw!" Isaac ordered. Perrserker rushes at Regirock and gave Regirock some scratches with Metal Claw. "Iron Head!" Perserker lands a hit with Iron Head, dealing some heavy damage.
"Not bad, but it's not over yet. Use Shock Wave!" Brandon ordered. Regirock fired Shock Wave, shocking Perserker, dealing some heavy damage. "Focus Punch!"
"Metal Claw!" Isaac ordered. Perserker rushes at Regirock with Metal Claw, but Regirock dodges and lands a punch onto Perrserker, dealing some heavy damage.
"Finish it with Shock Wave!" Brandon ordered. Regirock fired another Shock Wave, taking down the Viking Pokémon.
"Perrserker is unable to battle! Regirock wins!" Samuel announced. Isaac calls back his Perrserker and he took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Your turn now, Obstagoon!" The Pokéball opened and an Obstagoon emerged from inside.
"What is that?" Ventus asked.
"That's an Obstagoon. Believe or not, but it's the evolved form of the Linoone that live in the Galar region," Sora said.
"How do you know that?" Zinnia asked.
"Because I battled a Trainer who had one of those. And he had a Galarian Zigzagoon and Linoone, too," Sora said.
"Well, Obstagoon isn't a Pokémon you'd find in the Hoenn region since the Linoone in Hoenn don't evolve. I can say he made an interesting choice here," Scott said.
"Obstagoon! Use Brick Break!" Isaac ordered. Obstagoon came at Regirock with a Brick Break.
"Use Shock Wave!" Brandon ordered. Regirock fired Shock Wave, hitting Obstagoon. "Stone Edge!" Regirock fired a Stone Edge, hitting Obstagoon on the mark. "Stone Egde again!"
"Obstruct!" Isaac ordered. Obstagoon crosses its arms to block Regirock's Stone Edge. The stones bounced right off. "Okay, Obstagoon! Use Low Kick!" Obstagoon rushes to give Regirock a kick at the legs.
"Hyper Beam!" Brandon ordered. Regirock fired Hyper Beam, hitting Obstagoon, resulting in a knockout.
"Obstagoon is unable to battle! Regirock wins! The winner is Pyramid King Brandon!" Samuel announced.
"No way! I lost! How could I lose? I did everything right!" Isaac ordered.
"Young man, you have done an excellent job in raising and training your Pokémon, but during our battle, you became overconfident, and that led to your defeat! I look forward in battling you again in the near future. Until then, I advise you to look deep in yourself," Brandon said. Isaac called back his Obstagoon and nodded.
"Oh, man. This guy is tough. Even my regular Pokémon won't be enough to take him down. But if he has legendary Pokémon under his belt, maybe I can play his game, too," Sora said in his thoughts. Brandon approached Sora.
"Now, young man, I hope that battle has taught you something," Brandon said.
"Your battle reminded me not to get too carried away with wanting to win. And I am looking forward to our battle, Brandon," Sora said.
"I am sure you are. We shall it tomorrow, so you are free to train on the Battle Pyramid grounds if you wish," Brandon said.
"Thanks, I will," Sora said.
With that said, Sora had exchanged Glalie, Wailord, and Walrein for Suicune, Moltres, and Zapdos. Sora thought Brandon might have other legendary Pokémon other than Regirock, so he wanted to keep the playing field even.
Even though Moltres, Zapdos, and Suicune are legendary Pokémon, he knew it wasn't going to be easy, and he had to play it smart. Sora had Suicune, Moltres, and Zapdos train for the upcoming battle. Kairi, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Michael, Lisia, Zinnia, and the Pokémon watched Sora and the legendary Pokémon train hard.
On the very next day, Brandon had returned to the Battle Pyramid after some research at an ancient ruin he recently discovered. Brandon looked at Sora as he stands on the opposite side of him. Joined by Isaac, the rest of the group sat in the bleachers as the battle was about to begin.
"Now, young man, I trust you've trained hard for this match!" Brandon said.
"You can trust me on that. I did some serious training, and I'm ready for anything you can dish out at me," Sora said.
"We shall see," Brandon said. He turned to Samuel. "Samuel, if you please?"
"Of course. The official Battle Frontier battle between the Pyramid King Brandon and Sora from Pallet Town is about to begin! Each Trainer will be using three Pokémon each! taking out an Ultra Ball and threw it. "Regirock! I need your assistance!" His Ultra Ball opened and his Regirock came out to battle. Sora grinned.
"I thought so," Sora said, taking out his own Ultra Ball and threw it. "Go! Suicune!" His Ultra Ball opened and Suicune emerged from inside, ready to battle. Brandon was surprised to see Sora has a legendary Pokémon, too.
"A Suicune. Very interesting," Brandon said.
"No way! A Suicune!" Isaac exclaimed.
"Yeah. Sora caught it back in the Johto region. And somehow, Sora knew Brandon was going to send Regirock out like he did yesterday," Kairi said.
"Well, Suicune might be a Water-type Pokémon, but it's going to be tricky since that Regirock knows Shock Wave," Michael said.
"You got that right. Shock Wave is a good way of countering Water-types. And even with a Pokémon like Suicune, Brandon's Regirock won't be taken down that easily. Let's see what kind of ace does Sora have up his sleeve," Scott said.
"You may have the first move!" Brandon said.
"Suicune! Bubble Beam!" Sora ordered. Suicune fired Bubble Beam at the Rock Peak Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Shock Wave!" Brandon ordered. Regirock dodges Suicune's Bubble Beam and fired a Shock Wave at Suicune.
"Block it with Ice Beam!" Sora ordered. Suicune fired Ice Beam, blocking Regirock's Shock Wave. Suicune pushes Regirock's Shock Wave and lands a hit.
"He used an offensive move as a defense. The battle has barely began and he already impressed me," Brandon said in his thoughts. He ordered, "Regirock! Use Stone Edge!" Regirock unleashed Stone Edge and sent the stones at the Aurora Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Suisune dodged Regirock's Stone Edge and fired Hydro Pump, hitting the Rock Peak Pokémon on the mark.
"Hey, that actually did some damage," Michael said.
"That's because Suicune's a high Pokémon as well. Seeing this just makes it look like an ordinary Pokémon battle. This has to be a clash of the titans, and we're seeing it," Terra said.
"Regirock! Use Hyper Beam!" Brandon ordered. Regirock fired Hyper Beam at Suicune.
"Dodge and use Hydro Pump again!" Sora ordered. Suicune dodged Regirock's Hyper Beam before it could land a hit. Suicune fired Hydro Pump, hitting Regirock on the mark. "Bubble Beam!" Suicune fired Bubble Beam at Regirock, dealing some heavy damage. Regirock was still standing.
"Regirock's still standing after that?" Isaac asked.
"It is. Like I said, Brandon's Regirock isn't going to be taken down that easily," Scott said.
"Regirock! Use Shock Wave!" Brandon ordered. Regirock fired Shock Wave right at Suicune.
"Ice Beam!" Sora ordered. Suicune fired Ice Beam, blocking Shock Wave again, but this time, Regirock's Shock Wave pushes Suicune's Ice Beam, and lands a hit on the Aurora Pokémon. "You okay, Suicune?" Suicune nodded. "Great! Use Hydro Pump!"
"Shock Wave again!" Brandon ordered. Regirock has unleashed another Shock Wave and lands a hit on Suicune, but it fired Hydro Pump, hitting Regirock.
"Wrap it up with Bubble Beam!" Sora ordered. Suicune fired Bubble Beam, hitting Regirock again. The Rock Peak Pokémon has taken some heavy damage, resulting in a knockout.
"Regirock is unable to battle! Suicune wins!" Samuel announced.
"No way! Suicune took down Regirock!" Ventus said.
"Yeah, but it's not over yet," Michael said. Brandon called his Regirock back and smiled.
"Excellent job, Regirock. You have earned a well-deserved rest," Brandon said. He sets his attentions on Sora. "That was some impressive display, Sora. Most Trainers wouldn't have taken down my Regirock the way you have. Are you prepared for my next Pokémon?" Brandon took out another Ultra Ball and threw it. "Regice! I need your assistance!" His Ultra Ball opened and his Regice emerged from inside. Karen took out her Rotom Phone and scanned it.
Regice, the Iceberg Pokémon
Type: Ice
Regice cloaks itself with frigid air of -328 degrees Fahrenheit. Things will freeze solid just by going near this Pokémon. Its icy body is so cold, it will not melt even if it is immersed in magma.
"So it's another legendary Pokémon," Karen said.
"Yeah. Something tells me that Regice would have stopped me cold even I made it past Regirock. No pun intended," Isaac said.
"I thought he had another one. Better make a switch just to play it safe," Sora said. He took out Suicune's Ultra Ball and took out another one before he threw it. "Okay, Moltres! Your turn!" His Ultra Ball opened and Moltres emerged from inside.
"Wow! A Moltres!" Isaac exclaimed.
"Yeah, and a good pick since Moltres is a Fire-type Pokémon," Lisia said.
"I wonder if Regice will last long as that Regirock did," Karen said.
"I was wondering the same thing. This shall be interesting," Scott said.
"Regice! Use Zap Cannon!" Brandon ordered. Regice fired Zap Cannon at Moltres.
"Dodge and use Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Moltres dodges Regice's Zap Cannon and fired a Flamethrower, hitting Regice. "Use Sky Attack!"
"Use Ice Beam!" Brandon ordered. Regice fired Ice Beam, hitting Moltres. "Blizzard!" Regice unleashed Blizzard at Moltres, but the Flame Pokémon plows right through Regice's Blizzard and lands a hit onto Regice.
"Zap Cannon!" Brandon ordered. Regice fired another Zap Cannon, but Sora quickly called Moltres back and he took out his next Ultra Ball and threw it.
"You're up now, Zapdos!" Sora called out. Zapdos came out and took the hit of Zap Cannon, but it barely did any damage on it.
"Wait. Doen't Zap Cannon paralyze a Pokémon when it hits?" Ventus asked.
"You're right, it does always paralyze a target when it hits, but Zapdos is an Electric-type Pokémon. And Electric-types are immune to paralysis," Kairi said.
"Good save," Michael said.
"Yeah, except Zapdos is a Flying-type Pokémon, so it's weak against Ice-type moves," Terra said.
"Zapdos! Use Thunder!" Sora ordered. Zapdos unleashed Thunder and sends it right at Regice, landing a hit.
"Use Ice Beam!" Brandon ordered. Regice fired Ice Beam right at Zapdos.
"Dodge and use Discharge!" Sora ordered. Zapdos avoids Regice's Ice Beam and unleashed Discharge, hitting Regice again.
"Blizzard!" Brandon ordered. Regice unleashed Blizzard right at Zapdos.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Zapdos tried to avoid Regice's Blizzard, but it was hit on the side. "Use Roost!" Zapdos lands and spreads out its wings and summoned a sky blue orb. Zapdos absorbs the sky blue orb into its body and then recovered from its injuries.
"What a save. Having Zapdos knowing Roost is a good way of revoering some energy," Karen said.
"Yeah, but Sora keep that up?" Kairi asked.
"Regice! Fire your Zap Cannon!" Brandon ordered. Regice fires a Zap cannon and sends it right at Zapdos.
"Discharge!" Sora ordered. Zapdos unleashed Discharge, blocking Regice's Zap Cannon, resulting it in an explosion. "Use Sky Attack!" Zapdos's body gave off the same glow as Moltres.
"Use Blizzard!" Regice fired Blizzard, hitting Zapdos on the mark. Zapdos plowed right through Regice's Blizzard and lands a hit onto Regice.
"Thunder!" Sora ordered. Zapdos unleashed a Thunder, hitting Regice, resulting in a paralysis.
"Way to go, Zapdos!" Sora said.
"Blizzard!" Brandon ordered. Regice tried to fire Blizzard, but its paralysis kicked in, making it unable to attack.
"Discharge!" Sora ordered. Zapdos fired Discharge, hitting Regice on the mark, resulting in a knockout.
"Regice is unabe to battle! Zapdos wins!" Samuel announced. Brandon called back his Regice and he smiled.
"He is much better than Scott said. I can see why he overpowered all the others. But if he wants to earn the Brave Symbol, he'll have to work very hard against my final Pokémon," Brandon said in his thoughts. He said out loud, "Young man, you've impressed me once again. Now, the real battle begins!" He took out another Ultra Ball and threw it. "Registeel! I need your assistance!" His Ultra Ball came out and a Registeel emerged from inside.
"First Regirock, then Regice, and now a Registeel!" Isaac exclaimed once again as Karen took out her Rotom Phone once again.
Registeel, the Iron Pokémon
Type: Steel
Registeel's body is harder than any metal that is known to man. Study revealed that its body is hollow.
"Wow, Sora just beaten two of these Pokémon and now, Registeel is left," Karen said.
"Brandon has been saving that one for last, so we'll see how Sora can handle it," Scott said. Sora calls Zapdos back and took out Moltres's Ultra Ball.
"I figured he had a Registeel. I would say there goes the neighborhood, but it's a wild neighrborhood. And I know the Pokémon to spice things up," Sora said as he threw the Ultra Ball. "Moltres! Back to action!" Sora called out. His Ultra Ball opened and Moltres came out, ready to battle.
"Sora has sent Moltres back out to battle," Aqua said.
"Yeah, but will Moltres be too hot to handle?" Terra asked.
"I think we're about to find out," Michael said.
"Okay, Moltres! Use Fire Blast!" Sora ordered. Moltres unleashed Fire Blast and sent it right at Registeel.
"Use Iron Head!" Brandon ordered. Registeel plowed right through Moltres's Fire Blast and lands a hit onto the Flame Pokémon. "Flash Cannon!" Registeel fired Flash Cannon right at Moltres.
"Dodge and use Flamethrower!" Sora ordered. Moltres dodged Registeel's Flash Cannon and fired Flamethrower at the Iron Pokémon.
"Iron Defense!" Brandon ordered. Registeel uses Iron Defense to build up its defense against Flamethrower.
"That looks like it did some damage, but it looks like it held on," Ventus said.
"You're right, Ven. Registeel is tougher than I thought," Lisia said.
"Okay, Moltres! Use Fire Blast!" Sora ordered.
"Fire your Flash Cannon!" Brandon ordered. Registeel fired Flash Cannon and sent it right at Moltres, overpowering Moltres's Fire Blast. The attack hits Moltres before Sora could tell it to dodge.
"Get up, Moltres!" Sora called out.
"Iron Head!" Brandon ordered. Registeel rammed into Moltres, resulting in a knockout.
"Moltres is unable to battle! Registeel wins!" Samuel announced. Sora calls Moltres back and smiled.
"It's okay, Moltres. You did your best," Sora said. He took out Suicune's Ultra Ball and threw it. "Suicune! Back to action!" His Ultra Ball opened and his Suicune came out to battle.
"Registeel's Steel-type moves won't do much damage to Suicune since it's a Water-type, but Brandon looks like someone who would use that resistance to his advantage," Terra said.
"Pikachu," Thor said.
"Flash Cannon!"Brandon ordered.
"Dodge and use Hydro Pump!" Sora ordered. Suicune dodged and fired Hydro Pump at Registeel, landing a hit. Registeel is being pushed back by the powerful water attack.
"Registeel! Iron Head!" Brandon ordered. Registeel plows through the water attack and lands a hit onto Suicune.
"Bubble Beam!" Sora ordered. Suicune fired Bubble Beam right at the Iron Pokémon, landing a hit. "Hydro Pump!" Suicune fired Hydro Pump right at Registeel.
"Flash Cannon!" Brandon ordered. Registeel fired Flash Cannon and collide with witch each other. An explosion occurs and both Pokémon have taken a lot of damage. Suicune and Registeel lgared at each other. Suicune then fell on the ground, beaten.
"Suicune is unable to battle! Registeel wins!" Samuel announced. Sora calls his Suicune back and he took out Zapdos's Ultra Ball and threw it.
"Okay, Zapdos! Back to action!" Sora called out. Zapdos emerged from inside, ready to battle. "Discharge!" Zapdos unleashed Discharge and sent it right at Registeel.
"Use Iron Head!" Brandon ordered. Registeel rammed through Zapdos's Discharge and lands a hit. Zapdos had taken some little damage from Registeel's Iron Head. "Flash Cannon!"
"Dodge and use Thunder!" Sora ordered. Zapdos avoids Registeel's Flash Cannon and fired Thunder, hitting Registeel on the mark.
"Iron Head!" Brandon ordered. Registeel plowed through Zapdos's Thunder and lands a hit. "Flash Cannon!"
"Doscharge!" Sora ordered. Zapdos fired Discharge and collides with Registeel's Flash Cannon. The two attacks held on, and like before, an explosion has occurred and both Pokémon have taken lots of damage. "Roost!" Zapdos lands on the battlefield and recovered half of its stamina. "Okay, Zapdos! Use Thunder!"
"Flash Cannon!" Brandon ordered.
Registeel prepared to fire Flash Cannon, but Zapdos has struck Registeel, dealing loads of damage. Registeel then fell on its face, beaten.
"Registeel is unable to battle! Zapdos wins! The winner of the battle is the challenger, Sora from Pallet Town!" Samuel announced.
"He did it!" Kairi, Karen, and Ventus cheered.
"Pikachu!" All of the Pikachu exclaimed happily.
"Eevee!" Angel and Celeste also cheered.
"Good job," Scott said.
Sora went up to Zapdos and smiled.
"You did a great job, Zapdos. You, Moltres, ans Suicune, too," Sora said. Zapdos nodded as Brandon approached Sora.
"Young man, that was one of the most enjoyable battles I have witnessed," Brandon said.
"Well, Brandon, I honestly wasn't sure that I was gonna beat you even with Zapdos, Suicune, or Moltres, but I gave it everything I had," Sora said.
"Indeed, you have. You have demonstrated your wisdom and your commitment. The way you battled today is proof that you will go far and that you have found your inner strength long ago. As the Frontier Brain, it pleases me to reward you with this. The Brave Symbol," Brandon said, presenting Sora a gold symbol with a square with an X. Sora accepts it.
"Thanks, Brandon," Sora said. Scott approached Sora with the rest of the group.
"Congratulations, Sora. You have conquered the Battle Frontier. You are every bit the Trainer that I have thought you were," Scott said.
"Thanks, Scott. I appreciate the compliment," Sora said.
"And since you've earned all seven Battle Frontier Symbols, I would like to make you this offer," Scott said. This leaves Sora puzzled.
"An offer?" Sora asked.
"Yes. The offer to join the Battle Frontier as an official Battle Frontier Brain," Scott said. Sora was taken aback by the offer.
"Me? A Frontier Brain?" Sora asked.
"Yes. You see, Sora, I'm actually the owner of the Battle Frontier here in Hoenn. You see, when a Trainer like you have beaten all of the Frontier Brains, you can choose to be a Frontier Brain yourself. And from what I can gather, you have the right stuff on being a Frontier Brain. What do you say?" Scott asked.
Sora thought for a moment and then he gave him his answer.
"Thanks for the offer, Scott, but I'm gonna have to turn you down," Sora said.
"Any particular reason why?" Scott asked.
"Well, the thing is, I got my own thing going on. There's a large world out there. There are lots of places to see and Pokémon to witness. So I can't accept the offer to be a Frontier Brain," Sora said. Scott smiled as he chuckled.
"If that's your decision, then I'll respect it, Sora. But the offer is still opened just in case you changed your mind. In the meantime, here is one more thing, Sora," Scott said, handing Sora a plaque.
"A plaque?" Sora asked.
"That's right. And the other thing is that you'll be entered into the Battle Frontier's Hall of Fame. Your information is being entered in it as we speak. And of course, all of your Pokémon are being entered, too, regardless of you used them in the Frontier battles or not," Scott said.
"It was a thrill to be a part of it," Sora said.
Both Sora and Scott shook hands. Everyone all exited out of the Battle Pyramid to continue on their way towards Sootopolis City.
"Sora, I trust you'll be heading for Sootopolis City next, correct?" Brandon asked.
"That's right," Sora said.
"Yeah, that's where the next Gym is," Ventus said.
"Well, I hope win your next Gym Badge just like you won the Brave Symbol, Sora," Isaac said.
"Thanks, Isaac. What are you gonna do?" Sora asked.
"I'm gonna try again. And maybe, just maybe, I'll get lucky the next time," Isaac said.
"NO!" Brandon shouted out, alerting the group. They all looked at him. "I'll be moving the Battle Pyramid soon, so you'll have to look for it in a different location, but I will be expecting the best you can deliver, young man."
"That's fine with me. The next time you see me, I'll be a different Trainer than you battled yesterday," Isaac said.
"I'm sure you will," Brandon said.
"Well, Sora, I hope you do earn your next Gym Badge, and when you do enter the Hoenn Pokémon League, me and the other Frontier Brains will be rooting for you," Scott said.
"Thanks, Scott. We'll be off," Sora said.
"Bye!" The group all said as they took off.
Now that Sora has earned his seventh and final Frontier Symbol, but he was offered the position of Frontier Brain, but declined it. Despite his declination, the offer still stands. After all that, Sora has his eighth Gym battle to attend to, and he plans on giving everything he has in the Sootopolis City Gym. Stay tuned for more adventures to come.
