When we left chapter 17 they were getting ready to sit down and eat supper. Everything was good and everyone was full.
They talked about their childhoods with their friends and family. They talked about what happened between them without revealing too much. They talked about the stolen money and what his so-called-family tried to do to him.
Ana put the fear of God in him when she told him what she would do to him and whoever he was with if he ever cheated on her. He swore on his life, on her life and any children they might have that he would rather die than hurt her.
Now Chapter 18 Making Plans, Fundraisers and Sponsors
Morning comes early for everyone.
"Good morning."
"Good morning Ana and Christian."
"Any coffee left?"
"Of course I just made two fresh pots."
"Awesome, I need a cup before I start breakfast."
"What are we having this morning?"
"Biscuits and sausage gravy with our usual eggs and bacon. I'm just cooking for us. Everyone said last night they were cooking for themselves this morning. I hope they have enough. Did Dav and the guys check and make sure there was food in the fridge and pantry for them?"
"I haven't talked to him but I am sure they did. You know how he is. He makes sure everyone has what they need."
"Yes you are right and I am sure if someone needs something they will either call or come up here. Now let's fix breakfast."
"Yes ma'am and do you want another cup of coffee angel?"
'Yes please."
"Annie Rose you have something on your mind weighing heavily I can tell."
"Oh granmomma I will tell you all about it after we all get together with everyone. It is something that I have been thinking about and this idea came to me last night after we all went to bed. I think everyone will like what I have come up with."
They all had a very good and filling breakfast with some biscuits leftover.
"Let's go sit on the deck. It is a lovely morning."
"Annie Rose, what is going on? You are rubbing your neck and I know that is a sign for you thinking too hard."
"Boo call and see if everyone is up and if they would like to come here. I have some things I would like to say and I want everyone here. They can all be a part of this discussion and might be able to help us out. I just don't want to start talking about it and then have to start over."
"Alright love I will send everyone a group text and see how many respond back."
"Ok yes that will be better than having to call each one of them. When is Barney and Welch going back to Seattle?"
"After we have our tour of Paris. I think that is when everyone is leaving except for the ones that will be going back to Charleston with us. I am pretty sure that the security doctors and nurses are going with us because the teams will leave together from there."
"Ok that sounds good. Because what I am planning we need as much help as possible. It is something that is weighing on my heart since before we decided to start all of the homes and helping people. As I said, this part came to me last night."
"Alright love just got texts back from everyone. They all said give them an hour. I texted back ok."
"Good that is fine thank you."
"Ana, do you want to fix some snacks for later?"
"Yes, some cut up fruit and maybe some finger foods. I'll make some lemonade."
"Ana I'll make some brownies. I saw some in the pantry."
"Thank you, those will be delicious."
Ana fixes the lemonade and finger foods. Paula fixes the brownies.
The crew has arrived with food too.
"Ana I made a fruit salad."
"Oh how lovely thank you Naomi."
"I brought some cheese and crackers."
"Thank you Beverly."
Everyone of the ladies made some or brought something with them.
"Oh my goodness thank you all but you didn't have to do any of this."
"Yes we did, you have been so kind and generous to us that we had to repay you somehow. You have fed us and now are housing us. Not to mention we are all going to Paris."
"Alright well thank you all."
"Our pleasure."
"Alright now would anyone like something to drink? I fixed lemonade and ice tea. We have bottled water and juice. Cranberry, apple and grape."
Everyone wanted lemonade.
"Now we all have something to drink Annie Rose tell us what you are thinking about?"
"Granmomma as I said while ago it's been weighing on my heart. I don't know if we can pull it off. That is why I need you all here."
"Well angel tell us and we will see what we can do to help you in this situation you seem to have on your mind."
"Ok I would like to see if we can have a fundraiser, or a charity concert to help with the homes we are building and remodeling for all the causes we are sponsoring. We need sponsors and I believe this will help us with the charities. There are so many things we need for them like food, clothes, beds, bedding, etc."
"I would like to add a home for veterans and I would like to talk about maybe helping the less fortunate down on their luck helping them to acquire skills to find a job."
"I would like to be able to hire teachers and aids to help with the children and possibly have a daycare area if the mothers or fathers of the children would like to find a job."
She waits for them to say something.
"Well I'll be that brain of yours never stops does it love? I am proud of you and yes that would be a great idea. We just have to talk to people and see what we can accomplish. I have thought about this too as a matter of fact dad, grandpa and myself were saying something like this a while back. Elliot said he would like to help too."
"So you don't think I am just blowing smoke and I am crazy for wanting to have this?"
"Oh lord Annie Rose, this is an awesome thing you want to do. I for one am with you one hundred percent. You tell us what you need from all of us and we will do our best to make this happen."
"Thank you Boo and granmomma."
"Alright what do all of you think? Do you think we can make this happen? I already have some names for the concerts and hopefully some guest speakers but I will keep to myself for now."
"Ana I think that is a brilliant idea and we will help anyway we can."

"Count all of us in Ana. I will talk to daddy and uncle J. when I get back to Washington and see if they can help us. Which I am sure they can, they both would do anything for you not to mention my aunt."
"Thank you Maddie."
"Ana I will tell you now I am taking this job. This just confirms how much you need me and I think we will have to hire some more to help me. So be on the lookout for an assistant for me as I will be the Business manager. A PR person, a Financial Advisor, Personal manager. Someone who is qualified to hire the right people we need. Like teachers, aids, cooks, health care like nurses who can come in and check on the ones that are in the homes. Have doctors make visits to check on people. Girl you got it going on and we will help you anyway we can."
"Ana, where are we talking about having this concert? Will it be at home in the states or are you wanting to do it here?"
"Well grandpa I would like to do one here and one back home. Because we are providing homes here and back home. I think it would benefit both if there were two different concerts. What do you all think?"
"Yes I agree with you that the people here and back home won't think they are helping just our cause back home and vice versa. I mean if we put on this concert and ask to have sponsors from home come over here they might think that they are helping only the ones in this country not at home. And the same for the ones here thinking the same thing. Oh shoot, am I saying that right?"
"Yes I believe that would work better. I agree with you. Grandpa, we need to sit down and talk and make some plans. I know I will need your legal advice on these matters."
"Yes Annie you will and I will be ready whenever you are."
"Thank you and we will have our talk after we go home in two weeks. Christian I would like for you to get with Barney and Welch and go over some names that you know that might be willing to be sponsors for us. I am sure some of your business acquaintances would be more than willing to help us."
"Yes, I am sure they would. Barney, are you going back to Seattle after the Paris tour? How about you, Welch?"
"Yes Christian I am. I think it would be a good idea for me to start looking at some sponsors."
"Yeah I believe I will do the same. We can work together Barney."
"Ok that sounds good to me."
"Alright then you both stay in touch with us and Paula as she is the business manager of this with Ana."
"Yes we surely will."
"Alright now do any of you know any famous rock and country singers. How about some bands?"
"Yes and I know some who would jump at the chance to be involved with these concerts."
"That's great Troy and please all of you tell them they will benefit from these concerts unless they want their earnings to go toward the charities. It is up to them."
"That is very generous of you Ana."
"I just want to help these people better themselves and if the guest doesn't want to donate their money back that is their prerogative."
"Yes you are quite right."
"Paula, I know you are wondering where your office is going to be right?"
"Well now that you mention, yes I am."
"Elliot is working with some guys here that daddy and Taylor have vetted and they have found a building that will be our office here. We will look at some buildings when we get home for an office there for all of us."
"That sounds good to me. I am going to start working on writing some plans and proposals. These concerts are going to be epic and all the proceeds will be going to the charities that we are involved in. I am talking about the tickets and entertainment unless as you said they would rather have their pay."
"Yes please be sure they understand that. I feel like they have helped charities before and did them for free just to help out. You know some do it just to get their names out there. They just write a check and never help out."
"Whoa I just got a great thought and it gave me a headache. How about we rent a space and have a carnival? We have enough people and my lord, the security won't be a problem as we have plenty."
"Oh wow yes I like that idea. This is getting better and better. We could have rides and games for everyone. Set up some food services. Oh my goodness I can see this now it will be better than epic. Ana you are good."
"Grandpa, can you find out what we need in order to have a carnival here and back home please?"
"Yes baby girl I sure can."
"Oh I am so happy this is looking better and better Boo."
She is smiling and crying, jumping up and down and damn if she aint dancing.
"My goodness Annie Rose, may I have this dance?"
Ana just looks at everyone and sees them all smiling at her. She just realized what she was doing and now she is blushing three shades of red.
"Oh dear don't be embarrassed about what you are feeling. It is natural to be joyous on an occasion like this. You have brought all of us together for wonderful causes and we are all here to support you and Chris in every way we can. So I would be jumping up and down and dancing around the room."
"Well then put on music Boo and let's all dance. I am happy and I feel it in my bones that this will be a concert to remember for a long, long time."
"Yes angel it will be. Dance with me love?"
Everyone gets up and dances on the deck in the kitchen all the way to the family room and out the front door.
Security is looking at them like they lost their minds and there is no music.
Gran and granmomma grab some of the guys.
"Come on you all let's dance? We are happy and we want to show it."
All of a sudden there is music coming from the house as Ana and Christian come dancing out in the yard.
"Well hell we might as well join them boys. Let's dance. I know Annie is happy about something and we will find out soon enough what it is. But for now I am going to dance with granmomma she is cutting a rug."
They all danced and danced for a little while longer. Laughing, singing and dancing. They all went back into the house.
"Hey y'all we have to have Karaoke at the carnival and a singing contest. Oh my the ideas popping in my head."
"Angel, we can have pony rides for the kids and a cotton candy booth. How about a booth for shooting targets to win a prize."
"We can have a dunk tank and I will volunteer to be first. I think it would only be fair for all of us to take a turn and just let the kids have three tries to dunk us."
"Oh I like that idea Elliot. But we won't put gran, granmomma or daddy or grandpa in there."
"Well of course not I didn't mean them. I hope they know that?"
"Yes El we know what you meant son."
"Whee thank you gran."
"How about a free makeup session with a well known expert? You know how girls love to try on different makeup."
"That's a good idea Beverly."
"Ana we, your FBI friends, have been talking and we think we would like to give demonstrations on how to properly handle a gun and clean one. That is when we have time to spare for this carnival."
"I like that Cora , thank you. Yes people need to know how to handle a gun if they are going to have one. They need to know people kill people, not guns. How many times have you turned on the news and they are saying that a small child got hold of a loaded gun and shot himself. Or how about people playing with guns and realize they are loaded and turn them on themselves and die."
"Yes they all need to learn that you don't leave a gun loaded and laying around for just anyone to pick up and shoot it. They also need to know how to care for their weapon."
"I do believe that will be a good thing to have at the carnival."
"We need a meet and greet with the ones that will be performing. We can sell tickets for that. Maybe add that on to the ticket price of admission for the concert."
"Yes, that will bring a lot of people out."
Ana looks over at Paula and she is on the phone and smiling. Before Ana can say anything she has gotten off the phone and written something down. Now she is back on the phone talking again.
Oh well I will have to wait. It seems like my business manager is a busy little bee already. I knew I chose the right one.
"How about some food y'all I am hungry now."
They all agreed they were too.
Everyone fixed their plates and they all sat around in the family room on the couches, chairs and floor. They all found paper and pen and started writing ideas.
"Now these carnivals will last a week each. I think I would like to schedule them like a month apart. What do you all think?'"
"I think that would work well. That way if the entertainers can do both places they won't be burnt out from traveling so quickly."
"Yes, that will be feasible."
"Paula, may I ask what you are doing and why you are smiling so much over there."
"Of course you may Annie. Now sit back I have some wonderful news for you all. Brian Adams, Willie Nelson. Lionel Richey and so far Foreigner have accepted both places. They said whenever you are ready to call them personally and they would talk to you. They also said their time will be free. They have read about you and Chris and want to help anyway they can."
"Oh my god really? You mean Willie Nelson and Brian Adams will be there? Oh lord Boo we have to make this extra special. We may need a bigger place."
"I have a place in mind. Let me talk to someone and then I will confirm it with you."
"Ok thank you."
"Annie, your dad and I will be talking to the government here about finding a place for your carnival. When are we going to Paris? Are you having the carnival here or would you like to have it in Paris?"
"I think I would prefer to have it out here. It's just too busy in Paris and anyone wanting to come can travel here. I think it will be better here for safety reasons too."
"Yes I agree with you on the safety reasons."
"Dav have you all made reservations for us to travel to Paris and sightsee? Have you talked to Jacqueline?"
"Yes Ana everything is arranged and yes Jacqueline knows we are coming and she has already gotten the tour set up for us."
"That is great news, thank you."
"Yes ma'am Ana you are welcome."
"Now when are we leaving?"
"We can leave in the morning if you all can be ready. Or we can leave later. However, you all want to do it. The hotel is already booked for you all."
"We will be taking the bus right?"
"Yes ma'am we will. It is a seven hour ride and you will see some beautiful scenery along the way. If anyone wants us to stop along the way to stretch your legs just let us know."
"If you all would rather fly we can call the captain and have him get the jets ready."
"Oh no, I want to see the countryside. How about you all?"
They all agreed with gran.
"Ana we will be staying two days right?"
"Yes Paula we will."
"Good from what pictures you showed us when y'all were there it will take two days to see it all."
"Yes my friend it will and it is a gorgeous place. So much to see and learn about."
They all yell we can't wait.
"Alright it's settled we will leave in the morning bright and early eight o'clock."
"We will be ready Dav. Thank you."
The guys all walk off to their home and pack for tomorrow's adventure.
"Annie Rose I just called Reba and she is more than happy to be a part of this concert."
"Granmomma you talked to Reba McIntyre?"
"Yes El I did. I knew her mother god rest her soul. Ana knows Reba and so does Paula."
"Ladies, you have been holding out on us."
"Nope we have not we were not sure that we could get her. Besides, daddy knows her family from the oil days."
"Well who else do you all know?"
"That will be a surprise for all of you."
"Oh come on little lady spill the beans. Chris, bro help me here."
"Elliot you know Ana is like a tomb if she doesn't want to say anything you ain't getting anything out of her."
They all laugh.
"Ain't that the dang truth."
"Hey, would anyone like to go horseback riding? Gran, granmomma, grandpa and anyone else we have the carriages remember?"
"Yes we know and I think I will sit this one out and relax for tomorrow."
"I am going to do the same sweet girl."
"Well alright then if you are sure?"
"Yes we are Annie Rose."
"Daddy, are you and grandpa going with us?"
"Yes I am and I am riding a horse. Theo how about you?"
"Yes Ray, I am going to ride a horse too. Come on, let's go pick out our horse. No wait, they pick you. Ana you have carrots and peppermints don't you?"
"Yes grandpa we sure do."
"Alright, lead the way to the stables."
"Ana, do you have some gentle horses for us that don't ride much?"
"Yes Cora we do and they are all gentle horses. We have some that if you want to run they will run for you. Or you can just walk them."
"That is good, thank you."
"My goodness, what a stable. How many do you have?"
"We have four and they are all this size. We want plenty of room for our horses to be comfortable and not crowded."
"I like that idea. Well come on I have to see these horses and let one pick me. Give me a carrot, little Annie Rose."
"Here you go little Maddie."
The guys open the doors and they see some of the most beautiful horses they have ever seen in their lives. There are white ones, black ones, some pintos and a few arabians and more.
"Oh lord, would you look at these beautiful animals? I can't wait to ride one."
"Yes Cora they are gorgeous but so big."
"Yes they are but let's see which ones like us.."
"Come on I am game if you are Jennifer?"
They each take a carrot and walk over to the stalls and look at the horses. The horses walk up to their gate and look at the women. The one with Cora is leaning his head out sniffing the carrot. She gives it to him and he eats then he leans his nose into her hair.
"I think I found my horse Ana. What is its name?"
"This is Misty. She is three years old and one of the sweetest horses here."
"Oh she is adorable and so loveable. What kind of horse is she?"
"She is a palomino."
"Jennifer, which one do you want to feed a carrot to?"
"I'm not sure I think I will walk down the stalls and see if any of them come to their gates."
"That's a good idea."
"Maddie, have you chosen your horse?"
"Oh yeah and he is a beauty. Look at this cinnamon Arabian gorgeous isn't he?" What is his name Annie?'
"Rusty for his color. I couldn't think of anything else."
"That suits him."
"Angel everyone has chosen their horse and we are ready to ride if you ladies are? We will saddle them for you though."
"Thank you Boo. Yes we have our horses."
"Angel, you chose midnight?"
"No love he chose me. Literally pulled on my shirt."
"Well I'll be. Ok guys let's saddle these beauties up."
They were all ready to ride the trails for a while but not too long. They had to get up early in the morning.
"You all know we chose these horses from a video. They were raised on a farm not too far from here. I think we chose right."
"Yes Annie I believe y'all did."
"Daddy you have ghost , he is so sweet."
"Grandpa you got Mr. Ed he is a little feisty."
"Baby girl that's alright I am too."
They left out and started riding the trails and enjoying the afternoon and early evening air.
"How is everyone doing? Are we hungry yet?"
"Did you bring food Ana?"
"Yes I did. We have sandwiches just take your pick from egg salad, ham sandwiches, tomato sandwiches and more. There are chips in there and bottled water."
"You thought of everything Ana."
"I try."
They all got off their horses and sat around on the ground eating their sandwiches and drinking their water. After everyone was done they cleaned up and started back to the stables.
"Alright now after the guys take off the saddles and stuff would you all like to rub your horse down? You don't have too."
"Yes , I would because my horse gave me a wonderful ride."
They all agreed to rub their horse down and put fresh hay in the stalls.
They walked back to the house and had a late supper. Said goodnight.
"Boo I can't sleep. I'm so excited for tomorrow everyone gets to see the sights we saw. I feel so good and relaxed after our ride. You know they all surprised me with wanting to clean the stalls and put fresh hay down. They are all a wonderful group of friends you know."
"Yes angel I know and I'm so glad I have friends now. Lord, I just didn't know what I was missing. No let me rephrase that. I've seen Mia and Elliot with friends but you know I thought I was happy and content until you came back into my life and brought all these amazing friends of yours that are now my friends and the new ones we made. Life is so much better with you in it and I never want to lose what we have. I love you so much my angel don't ever doubt my undying love for you my beloved wife Anastasia Rose Trevelyan."
He has gotten quiet and she knows something is going on.
"Boo sweet man of mine, what's wrong love?"
"It's just I have never felt like I belonged with other people. I always thought I was broken. I thought that my birth mother and the pimp broke me. Then you grabbed my hand and said we were going out. We walked out of my office and there stood the pedo, Jason and Luke just looking at her. I noticed she was wiping her lip but I thought it was lipstick it was red and that's the color she always wore so ugly."
"You told Andrea to cancel the rest of my appointments for the day and not to disturb me unless it was a dire emergency. I remember everyone looking at you like you were crazy. Jason and Luke were smiling and the pedo wanted to say something but one look from you she stayed quiet. As we got to the elevator she opened her mouth and said "Where are you going?" I just laughed and we got on the elevator and didn't talk until we got in your car."
"Yep that's right. Do you remember where I took you?"
"Yes I do, we went to a go kart track. You said you needed to release some pent up anger. I thought to myself I could help you then I mentally slapped myself for thinking that."
"You were hell on wheels in that go kart. I still say that they turned yours up for you and not mine."

"Yes, how well I remember that day. That was the day I came back from Atlanta and as I walked off the elevator the bitch was coming out of your office smiling like the cat that ate the canary. I never liked her and she hated me. I didn't know why until I started figuring it out that day. It was something that bitch said to me. Boy it clicked and I blew up."
"You know it would have taken me a while to figure you and her out. but then she ran her mouth at me like she was proud that she had you. I started putting one and one together and damn I hated what I knew was the truth. Well let me just say this I might have figured some of it out years ago. I was walking by one of the high priced hotels in Cambridge one day and I saw you and her walking out. You didn't see me but the bitch did. She was holding you up . It was like you couldn't walk on your own that day."
"Oh dear lord, I remember that day. She came to see me and she punished me that day. She beat me black and blue and caned me so hard I couldn't walk on my own. she said you were at Harvard and if I knew what was good for me I would stay the fuck away from you. She said she was going to make sure I never looked at you again."

"I told that blonde botox bitch that you would never be hers and she hauled off to hit me and I knocked her on her ass. I told her if she knows what is good for her she will start steppin cause I was going to ruin that bad plastic surgery she had done. She just got up and tried to slap me so I put her face down on the floor and said by god I did ruin it. She got up and saw Jason standing there and he just smiled at her."
"Oh hell I never knew about that altercation. No one told me."
"Well for one did you think that bitch would have told you I whipped her ass? Two I didn't see any reason to tell you. Three it was between me and her. Four she was knocked on her ass twice. Do you think she wanted you to know that a five foot nothing put her down not once but twice?"
"I'm not surprised because Jason hated her and so did Gail. How could you not see what that bitch was doing to you? I know her and who-shall-not-be-named fucked with your head but after you got away from that and no name stopped the drugs you still was friends with her. You still listened to her. Tell me would you still be friends with her if she hadn't stolen all that money from you? Wait I have never asked you that before and I want you to be honest with me and yourself. Think about that question really hard."
"Alright I will think about it but I know the answer right now and it will be the same as it will be later. As I said after we talked and you in your own way told me the way you saw her always hovering over me that it wasn't right. It was like I was with her. Man that day I almost admitted to you that I had been but I just couldn't look at you and you hate me more. I started figuring out that she did run my life but she didn't run my company. She didn't work here eighteen to twenty hours a day like I did. She didn't do anything but use me over the years. She was the gold digger and my pimp. I am so sorry it took me so long to see it."
"So my answer is no I was already stepping back from the subs and her. I had not been with anyone in over a year. That's why she came to my office. She wanted me back in the game so to speak. I was waiting , hoping and praying for you."
