Maura Isles was reading an exciting book when she heard her doorbell ring.
She put down her book and got up to go see who it was.
To her surprise, she found Jane Rizzoli in the doorway, with a shy smile and a backpack. Maura couldn't believe it, Jane was supposed to be at Quantico, in a relationship with Cameron Davies, her FBI partner. She opened the door wide and greeted Jane with a warm hug.
« Jane! What a good surprise ! Come in, come in! Do you want something to drink ? To eat ?
Thank you, Maura, you are adorable. I would like a glass of water, please. »
Maura led Jane into the living room and poured her a glass of water. She sat next to her on the couch and looked at her curiously.
« So, tell me, what brings you here? The FBI is sending you to Boston? »
Jane sighed and looked down. She took a sip of water and said:
« No, Maura, I'm not with the FBI anymore anyway, I won't be with the FBI in 3 months, I resigned but I'm finishing the year and then it will be over... and I'm no longer in a relationship with Cameron
What ? But why ? What happened ?
Maura, I'll be honest with you. I came back because I love you. I've loved you for a long time, but I never dared to tell you. I thought going to the FBI with Cameron would help me forget that I was in love with you, but that was a mistake. All I did was think about you, about us, about what we could have been. Maura was speechless. She didn't know what to say. She felt her heart beating harder in her chest. She realized that she had had the same feelings for Jane for a long time, but had never dared to reveal them to her.
« Jane...I love you too. »
She leaned towards Jane and kissed her gently on the lips. Jane responded to his kiss with passion. They hugged each other, happy to have finally confessed their love.
