181 Kylo's Place of Peace (THE BIG FIGHT) 181
There is a red light instead of an orange light now. We return to a fading Rey.
REY Please... anyone... I just want to go back home...
Rey softly sobs when suddenly a blue lightsaber cuts open the door. A Finn —covered in muck from the drains— enters! BB8 can't quite make it over the new opening and waves.
FINN Wow, these things are good!
REY FINN! How did... is this real?
FINN We came to save you, Rey. But we have to hurry.
REY Finn! You're amazing!
FINN Jedi, right?!
Finn mimes the same gestures he made in jest back this afternoon on Faldur. Then carefully slices off Rey's binds and turns off his blade. Rey gets up and embraces Finn.
REY Thank you so much, Finn! You have no idea how scared I was.
FINN Hey, hey! It's alright now! I could actually feel you call out to me!
REY (laughs) Ohh, really?
FINN Yeah, I guess the Force, right?
REY Haha!
FINN ...Let's get out of here!
Kylo Ren enters, Force-dragging the bodies of Poe and Vilpus by each of their heads.
KYLO There you are, traitor.
He drops them and begins circling the two. Finn holds his arm out to protect Rey as they both back up.
KYLO Your treachery goes beyond all records. To gain use of the Force, to help a prisoner escape, to meet with a Jedi, and then — incredibly — to use your knowledge of our ship to land unseen on Hangar 7.
Finn's hope sinks.
KYLO Yes, I found your ship. Then destroyed it. Empty, but I knew it was you. You were still here. And where else could our traitor be... but exactly where I would not want him to be.
Finn activates his lightsaber. The blue glow highlights his entire day leading up to this: all the sweat, sand, cuts, muck.
KYLO You even had the time to gain a Jedi weapon. What a day it has been for you, the greatest traitor of the Empire!
Kylo unleashes his malign red lightsaber, still keeping his distance.
FINN Rey...
REY Yes...?
FINN You need to use your power.
REY Finn, I can't control—
FINN I need you! I will go in close. You keep far away and throw anything you can at him! We need to make an opening.
REY Can we surrender?
FINN ...no.
Rey nods and backs up. Finn approaches Kylo.
KYLO You have chosen to die for her.
Finn says nothing, keeping focused on Kylo's blade.
KYLO She will die too.
Kylo makes the first strike. Finn blocks it but still falls. He scrambles up, keeping the lightsaber readied at Kylo. Rey is now behind Kylo.
Finn tries to strike. Easily blocked, Kylo kicks Finn. Finn remains standing and swings again, backing up Kylo. The knight instantly covers the distance with a hard-overhead swing. Finn barely brings his sword back in time to block. Kylo pushes the blades down, Finn screaming while feeling the heat so close to his face. After trying and trying in the background, Rey is able to toss her holding table. Kylo dives out of the way, and it narrowly misses Finn.
FINN Yeah! That's perfect, Rey!
KYLO How interesting.
Kylo turns his back to Finn and heads toward Rey.
FINN NO!
As Rey retreats further, spinning tree branches around the two men, Finn lunges toward Kylo's back. Kylo turns and locks blades with Finn, gut-punching him and kneeing his face. But Finn can take it. Finn swings his saber, misses, then returns to guard. Kylo tries a combo, but Finn blocks every hit.
KYLO You are a fine soldier...
Kylo twitches a finger and sends Finn into the wall, dropping his weapon. Kylo blows away all the twigs and branches in the process.
KYLO (cont.) But barely a Jedi.
Kylo turns around at Rey.
KYLO That includes you as well. All that power with no control. Both of you will suffer from ignorance.
Kylo points his saber directly at Finn and drags him slowly toward the blade. He struggles and tries to grip his feet while reaching out to his lightsaber.
REY NO!
Rey grabs the wall this time, closes her eyes, and in swinging her arm, throws the entire wall at Kylo. Kylo lets go of Finn, slicing the incoming rubble and emerging without a scratch. A large piece of debris hits Finn. His forehead bleeds and he limps while getting to his lightsaber.
KYLO That's enough.
A flick of Kylo's wrist and a piece of rebar binds Rey. Finn dives on the knight, but Kylo parries with one hand, the other Force-pushes the lightsaber out of his hands. Kylo uses the Force to choke the now unarmed Finn. Kylo keeps his lightsaber low.
REY FINN! ARGHHHH
KYLO You can save him. Show me your power.
Rey unleashes the most energy we have seen; branches, debris, sparks fly violently around. Nothing affects Kylo.
KYLO This isn't power, Rey. Not the power you need! Not what he needs!
Kylo brings the blade to Finn's neck, readying to behead. With one last burst, Rey shoots lightning erratically from her fingertips. Kylo flinches, but it isn't landing near him. Rey has no idea what to do now, no idea how long it will last. She hurriedly rips off her bindings. In the same motion, without understanding, she aims the storm at Kylo. Burning and carving into the floor on its reckless approach.
Kylo drops Finn to block the torrent, pushing the master back. Stay electric tails scatter all around him. Only a little bit more, but Rey realizes: she hasn't been breathing since the lightning started. Immediately on this discovery, her focus splits. The lightning stops. Rey and Finn collapsed on the ground, each panting. Kylo stands above them, unharmed. He waits.
KYLO The victor is decided. Congratulations... "Finn"
Kylo turns his lightsaber off, then Force pulls Finn's lightsaber and hands it back. Finn takes it, confused.
KYLO (cont.) Finn, the great traitor, bested Kylo Ren, took his private ship "The Eagle" and destroyed the Vice Admiral's Star Destroyer "Agnomenon." Saving the nameless prisoner will go completely unnoticed with all those accomplishments. You'd both agree?
There is extreme confusion on both heroes' faces. Kylo Ren sighs and takes his helmet off. Princely features. He is still young, not much older than Poe. Above his right eye is a metal disc the size of a bottlecap. He takes out Rey's earring from a pocket.
KYLO This is yours... as it is mine. The Imperial Family members' super composed diamond. An exclusive jewelry. I thought it must have been scavenged off a corpse, but... miraculously, it was inherited. From one member of my house to another. Keeping House Galencia strong.
Rey and Finn are growing less confused. Breath has returned to both.
KYLO (cont.) Listen Rey: The Empire banished House Galencia princess Silva Galencia. But after a long silence, she provided evidence of a pregnancy. A child with a midichlorian count ten times higher than the nearest recorded.
Kylo sits down on rubble, and stares at the earring.
KYLO (cont.) She wished to return and bring with her the Sith Emperor who could form greatness back out of this galaxy. She was to meet with Emperor Zaltan in the Outer Rim. Zaltan never appeared. The Republic came in his place. They fired on her ship, butchering her. Her child.
Kylo seems emotional. Rey and Finn now understand and are transfixed.
KYLO (cont.) Zaltan leaked the information. He will not give up his power. He gave me this:
Kylo points to the metal on his head.
KYLO (cont.) A bomb. Ready to go off if I ever stake a claim against him —if he ever suspects disloyalty. It is not your time yet to return home, Rey. I am sorry. I am not ready. And neither are either of you, both far too weak to challenge the will of Zaltan.
Kylo looks directly at Finn.
KYLO (cont.) I need you, Finn. Take her to Luke. Both your pilot and Jedi live, simply in a trance. The droids are on board as well, with the codes to my ship. Take The Eagle, take Rey to Luke. And when I am ready... bring her back. Can you make this deal?
Finn gets up, clips his lightsaber on his belt. He helps Rey up, and they check Poe and Vilpus. Kylo told the truth. They look at each other. Then Rey's eyes stare off, struck by terrible revelation.
FINN You don't have to, Rey.
Rey ponders on that. A pause. Her answer:
REY ...I want to.
Kylo gets up and puts on his helmet.
KYLO Then we are all in agreement. I will alert Zaltan of your victory in fifteen. I will destroy this ship in only two before that. Hurry.
Kylo walks between them and out the door. He turns to Rey and softly places the earring in her palm.
KYLO You have a family that loves you.
Kylo leaves. Finn and Rey stand still in shock.

182 DS Gammalann – Int. 182
Gen. Organa and his crew stand waiting for a surrender. A lieutenant receives a confusing message from the lead fleet vessel.
REPUBLIC LIEUTENANT 1 General Organa, Vessel Gold Leader has received a foreign message with the clearance codes of Poe Dameron.
GEN. ORGANA From Poe? Proceed.
REPUBLIC LIEUTENANT 1 His message reads: "Situation critical. Empire has a Death Star inbound. Retreat immediately."
GEN. ORGANA ...did they take it from him? No, why...
Gen. Organa considers all the circumstances. The delay in surrender. He realizes.
GEN. ORGANA Throw all thrusters to max, move dorsal caudal, begin hyperspace startup!
The DS Gammalann begins to fall back, barely changing position when the Imperial Star Destroyers dot in behind it. And then: The MDS Krannek appears.

183 MDS Krannek – Int. 183
The inside of The MDS Krannek is dark blue and black. Zaltan sits on a throne with four decorated Knights of Ren behind him. He has an excellent crew in front of him to command.
MDS KRANNEK OFFICER 1 Sir, they shifted position!
ZALTAN Adjust cannon!
MDS KRANNEK OFFICER 2 They are preparing their hyperdrive!
ZALTAN Stay patient. Align the shot!
The MDS Krannek adjusts but cannot align the reticle with the center point of the Gammalann, only touching the edge of the enemy station.
MDS KRANNEK OFFICER 2 They are about to jump!
ZALTAN Fire cannon!
The MDS Krannek unloads its red laser, skimming the side of the DS Gammalann. An explosion occurs on the surface, and a massive molten scar is left.

The red alert is going off.
GEN. ORGANA Status Report!
GAMMALANN LIEUTENANT Ventral Cranial Right Engine destroyed, ten percent of hull gone, fifty-two wings are gone, two hundred sixty at risk.
GEN. ORGANA How long will it take to correct Hyperdrive?
GAMMALANN LIEUTENANT Impossible to say now.
GEN. ORGANA Raise shields, ready cannon. Signal fleet to begin assault!

185 MDS Krannek – Int. 185
MDS KRANNEK OFFICER 1 Their fleet has begun approach. Their Death Star is still active.
ZALTAN Have the fleet begin GER formation. We need to keep this station out of range. Ready the next shot!
MDS KRANNEK OFFICER 2 We have already begun, sir. Reactor still charging.
The fleets meet each other and begin returning to large-scale violence —the two Death Stars maneuver around each other.

186 Agnomenon Engine Room Entrance. 186
Two troopers stand outside the engine room entrance on guard. As Kylo Ren enters, they move to salute him. Before the tips of the fingers touch the tops of their heads, Kylo Ren twitches his fingers and the two men's helmets snap backward, the momentum of the twist tosses their bodies aside as the door opens for Kylo.
Inside, igniting his lightsaber, he slays every trooper and engineer. After doing enough damage to the area, he leaves the engine room in flames and critical warnings flashing.

187 The Eagle – Int. 187
Explosions outside rock the (familiar) interior of The Eagle. Finn, Rey, and all the droids are getting ready for launch. With a massive explosion, the entire ship jumps. Poe wakes to this.
POE MMmm, what's going on?
FINN Poe! You're awake!
POE What—FINN? How are you here—
REY Poe, good you are alive!
POE Rey, what is this—
REY There isn't time! We have Kylo Ren's ship! We need a pilot to get us out before this entire ship goes down!
Poe is stunned by all this new information instead of sweet, simple death.
POE What... did I miss?
FINN Everything! Can you pilot a ship like this?
Poe looks around and sees what every child and fan of iconic spacecraft knows by heart.
POE Customed Corellian YT-1300f light freighter? I didn't know I was on vacation already.
Poe jumps to the pilot's ship. He begins reading for takeoff.
POE Sounds like hell out there.
FINN It is. Both Death Stars remain, Poe.
Finn waits for Poe to process this.
FINN The fleets have engaged each other. No one has the advantage; ships are going down everywhere.
POE Vacation here at last!
Vilpus begins awakening.
C3PO rushes to her side.
C3PO Master Vilpus, are you alright?
VILPUS I am fine 3PO. What is going on—
POE Everyone's alive, Vilpus! We're diving straight into a warzone now!
Vilpus is now fully awake.
POE We're hijacking an enemy ship. Until Finn and I can Garage Bird Gold Leader, we will be taking fire from each side. Strap in.
Everybody moves into positions: Rey and Vilpus take the guns. Finn moves into the co-pilot's seat.
POE SHOWTIME!
Poe punches it, The Eagle rockets out of the Agnomenon.
