Trunks's sacrifice

Trunks charges at Broly in a blind fury, once he was within striking distance he threw a kick at his neck. To the half saiyan's surprise the attack didn't faze Broly, he only smiled as he took the blow.

Broly responded quickly by punching Trunks square in the chest sending him flying.

As Trunks was forced back he fired his trademark technique. "Burning Attack!" The yellow blast was fired and hit it's intended target. The half saiyan stopped his momentum and looked at the smoke his blast created. 'Not a dent.' He thought sensing Broly's energy as strong as it was before.

So when the smoke was cleared Broly was revealed with no injuries with a frown. "Hmph, this won't take long."

Trunks cringed at this, Tarble was his equal so how was he suppose to fight this monster.

The androids see that Trunks already has a bad start in this battle, 18 took her stance ready to interfere when 16 placed a hand on her shoulder making her turn her head to him.

16 shook his head. ", We should wait for an opening, both Broly and Trunks are ahead of us in power."

17 looked to 16 with widened eyes. "You mean Trunks surpassed us too?" He asked in shock, that would mean Tarble did too. "If so then how are we suppose to help if Trunks couldn't scratch him?" He asked with a scowl, he hated being surpassed again. To think Trunks was the one ahead of all of them now and this new saiyan Broly. But more importantly if Broly is even stronger than there all in deep trouble.

16 looked as the Trunks continued his assault. "Just be ready, we attack as soon as Broly get's the upper hand."

Broly charges at Trunks, he threw a heavy kick launching him in the air. Then the brute charged at him throwing a giant uppercut sending him higher, with that he vanished and appeared where he was going to be. The warrior prepared a backhand before a fist hit his face making him turn. The brute turned around glaring at android 16 who placed his hand back on his arm.

18 flew where Trunks was going to be before his body could get closer to Broly and caught him by his back. "Trunks are you alright?" She asked quickly.

Trunks quickly floated out of her grip and looked to Broly. "I'm fine." He stated as he sees the behemoth.

Broly smiled at the android and was about to throw an energy blast when 17 appeared behind Broly and threw a punch at his back. This only annoyed the brute as he turned around and grabbed 17 by the throat and threw him away toward Trunks and turned to blast energy at 16 who was charging at him.

16 blocked the blast reducing damage to a minimal, he then looked to see Trunks, 17, and, 18 in the same spot in the air. With nothing else to do 16 flew over to them in a battle position as the rest of them.

Broly laughed as all his opponents gathered up in the same spot. "You think 4 on 1 will do any good?" He asked and then shouted. "Do you really think you have enough power to defeat me!"

Trunks powered up getting ready to fight. "We'll have to be careful, it's like the fight with 13 all over again."

17 growled. "Don't remind me, there's just one tough guy after the other."

18 looked to Broly in her stance. "Let's just be careful this guy's insane." She turned to 16. "16 how strong are you now?"

16 kept his eyes on Broly but replied. "As strong as you and 17."

"Not enough." Trunks stated aloud making 17 growl but kept his tongue as the brute just floated there.

"Hahahaha!" Broly laughed at his prey and crossed his arms. "We'll attack me, show me your will to fight or I will destroy this entire planet!"

Trunks charged at Broly with the androids.

Broly swayed a punch from Trunks and threw his own sending him flying. The warrior then blocked 17 and 18's combined assault on him. There was no need for him to block or dodge but he just wanted to show his opponents that he could keep up with them.

16 got behind Broly and grabbed him by his arms restricting his movement. 17 and 18 attacked as Broly was struggling to break free. However the attacks didn't look like they were doing any damage.

"Heh" Broly pushed his forward then backward slamming the back of his head into 16's face, then the saiyan backhanded him sending him flying and then he turned around and grabbed 17 and 18 by their heads. The brute then slammed their heads together, blood poured out their foreheads, he was about to do it again when he sees Trunks charging at him. "Hmph" He says as he sees Trunks in his eyes slowly charge at him.

Trunks charged at Broly and looked up to see the sun. Once he was within range he put his hands outward on his head. "Solar flare!" The brute looked into the light and put his hands to his eyes screaming.

Once he let go of 17 and 18 he grabbed 18, as 16 grabbed 17. The two nodded at each other and flew a good distance between them and Broly.

Broly screamed and blasted everything in front of him. "You pathetic insects, you think you will get because of a trick like that?!" The area around him was covered in green explosions as he fired.

Trunks and the others made it to another part of the planet unharmed. The half-saiyan clenched his fists and teeth in anger. "This isn't good, we need a plan." He stated to the others who were still recovering from the rather short but excruciating fight.

17 rubbed his head still in pain. "Tell me about it, this guy's stronger than I thought possible." He stated looking to the distance, he clenched his teeth in anger that he couldn't even make a scratch.

"I have a suggestion." 16 stated drawing everyone's attention. "Trunks while you and Tarble were in the hyperbolic time chamber, 18 demonstrated a powerful technique."

Trunks raised an eyebrow and looked to 18. "Is that true?"

18 nodded. "Yeah, 17 also has one but both of us need time to charge them, but I don't think it's a good idea." She turned her shoulder where she sensed Broly. "I'm not sure if he'll be playing around if you fight him again."

Trunks notices the worry she had and stood up. "I think I have something that will distract him, I don't know if I'll be able to keep him busy long enough but it's better than nothing." He stated as he started floating.

"Allow me to assist you." 16 stated.

Trunks shook his head. "Sorry 16, but I can't afford to worry about anyone else."

18 stood up. "Trunks wait what are you doing?"

Trunks turned to her. "Don't worry about it, just get your attacks ready, I can keep him busy." He stated as he senses Broly going higher above where he was. The SSJ then flew to his direction.

18 growled as she tried flying after him.

"18 wait." 16 stated. "We should go through with the plan, it is our best option."

18 clenched her fists and sighed. He was right Trunks is too far ahead of them and Broly's even further then they are. "Fine but let's see what he's doing first" She stated as she flew higher to see Trunks flying towards Broly who is above the clouds.

17 floated as well, wanting to see what Trunks had planned.

Broly growled that his opponents escaped from him, he flew high above the planet close to it's atmosphere. "If you don't want to fight then I understand, however I am going to destroy this planet no matter what!" He shouted getting a green energy blast in his right hand ready. A shame he was looking forward to fighting the ones who defeated Paragas.

"Wait!"

Broly stopped as he sees the SSJ he was fighting coming closer above the clouds, he grinned that his prey came out of hiding. "So you decided to fight after all."

Trunks stopped a few feet away from him. "Sorry I just didn't want to endanger my friends when I go all out against you." The half-saiyan was gambling, Tarble and his father explained to him that saiyan's loved battle and would prefer to fight their enemies at their full potential. "It'll take time, all I need is a couple minutes, and then I will have enough strength to challenge you."

Broly's eyes widened and he grinned. He was worried that this would only be slightly more difficult The brute made the green energy disappear and crossed his arms. "Show me this power, or I'll kill you."

Trunks sighed in relief. 'I hope this doesn't turn into a mistake.' Trunks thought, hopefully 17 and 18 will get their attacks ready before Broly even notices his weakness. "Alright" He clenched his teeth as he charged up his energy, his golden aura revealed itself and grew as he charged. "RRRAAAAHHHHH!" He screamed as he powered up.

Broly, not knowing how to sense energy can tell that his power was increasing. The mad warrior grinned as he looked around him, the clouds were becoming dark, lightening was striking from the sky. This could be fun after all.

Trunks's muscles were starting to get bigger. "RRRAAAAH!"

18 could sense Trunks's energy swelling and see that his muscles are growing. "Trunks, what is he doing, he's actually getting stronger."

17 looked over to her. "What how, and since when can you sense energy anyway?"

16's sensors could feel the power from Trunks, it was growing, it may equal Broly's at some point. "You two should start charging your attacks now." He stated to the twins. "Whatever Trunks is planning must be risky, as he's powering up use this to your advantage and power up."

"He's right 18." 17 stated as he got his hand forward glowing with yellow energy. "Don't worry he's a survivor we both know that more than anything." He stated as he descended while charging his energy.

18 slowly nodded as she descended with her brother and stood next to him as she concentrated pink energy into her hand.

Trunks's hair flew up destroying the band that held his ponytail, his muscles were growing at an abnormal rate, still screaming as his energy filled every cell in his body, his pupils were missing like Broly's. The warrior glowed gold as he powered up until finally after a couple minutes he had reached the ultra super saiyan state. The son of Vegeta stopped and looked to Broly with his pupils missing. A few seconds later his green pupils returned and looked to Broly. "Thank you for waiting... for your downfall." He said frowning.

Broly chuckled which turned to a laugh as he looked at his opponent. "So this is your true power, excellent, I can't wait to see it in action." He said with an excited grin.

Trunks already knew the risk and cost of this form. But against an opponent like Broly there was no choice, from what he's seen on how Broly fights, he's like a wild animal with no strategy. He will have to rely on his skill to win, the warrior took his stance in his large muscular form. "I hope your ready Broly."

"Heh" Broly chuckled as he took his own. "I will send you to your grave."

Trunks made the first move charging ahead with his shoulder out, Broly did the same and clashed against each other. Both fighters made this into a contest of power, pushing each other and grunting. Golden sparks appeared between the two as they tried pushing the other.

Broly was shocked, he had no idea that his opponent could get this strong. He was at full power and he can't just effortlessly push him like he intended.

Trunks realizes that Broly was surprised and used it to his advantage. The USSJ threw the first punch to Broly's gut.

Broly cringed as he doubled over, he felt pain again only this time at full power. "Gah!"

Trunks then threw more punches at the LSSJ's gut, over and over. The USSJ ended it flipping and slamming his balled fists against the larger saiyan's head sending him plummeting.

Broly caught his momentum before he could land, then just as he did Trunks flew in and slammed both fists into his gut. The full blooded saiyan was pushed downward until he hit the ground creating a giant crater. Broly coughed in pain and grabbed Trunks's shoulder's and head butted him. This put the half saiyan in a daze, and then the giant grabbed the shorter warriors head and slammed his face against his knee before throwing him against the walls of the crater.

Trunks crashed against the crater, before he could recover Broly performed a lariat against him pushing him deeper into the wall, making another crater. "Gah!"

Broly laughed as he regained his advantage and laughed. "Gahahaha!" The brute then threw a flurry of fast punches against the USSJ's gut. "Even with this power you are still an utter waste of saiyan blood!"

Trunks managed to cross his arms and brung one knee up blocking Broly's assault. He knew it would be useless to dodge or catch each attack before they hit, his only option was to block the attacks with energy fueled muscles.

"Come now fight back!" Broly yelled in excitement as he threw more and more punches.

"Fine!" Trunks yelled back as he was gathering energy and tanking the blows. The USSJ glowed and threw his hands up unleashing a large yellow explosive wave.

Broly made an X with his arms blocking the attack, he then put his guard down to look at the USSJ as he got out of the crater. A smile spread across his face as he looked at him glowing with golden energy. "HAHAHA, that's more like it!" He yelled powering up his light green energy.

Trunks flew upward across from Broly and powered up as well. The USSJ was starting to feel the effects of this form take a toll on him, he cringed as he tried to keep his power under control. 'It looks like he hasn't noticed yet, good, I just have to stay in this form until 17 and 18 are finished.' He thought as he panted. The warrior grinned though in order to show boat. "Now I'll show you the power of a true saiyan warrior."

Broly laughed. "HAHAHAHAHA!" The LSSJ finally found a challenge. "Show me!" The brute then charged at Trunks with quick speed.

Trunks was only fast enough to do a cross block before Broly's punch hit him.

17 and 18 were watching the fight as they charged their energy, the male android looked over to 18. "Hey so why didn't Trunks use this form anyway?" He asked. "It looks like he has Broly on the ropes."

16 answered. "It will not last much longer."

18 holding a large pink energy blast in her hands asked. "Why do you say that 16?"

"Trunks's power is already fluctuating, his power keeps increasing and decreasing." The mechanical warrior stated. "Also this form seems to cost him a great deal of speed, the only thing keeping Trunks from losing right now is that he's focusing on defending rather than attacking"

18 growled as she kept charging energy, she already knew that the energy they have now even combined won't be enough. "We have to hurry."

17 nodded as he kept concentrating his power.

Trunks had known that this battle would not end with him winning, he had as much strength and more skill than Broly, however his agility is much to be desired. He can only defend with the muscle mass the of his body.

Broly laughed as he kept throwing strike after strike, he then vanished and appeared behind Trunks. The goliath threw a fist at the half- saiyan's back sending him flying, he then vanished and appeared above where he was going to be and slammed both feet into his stomach making the USSJ cough as he was being slammed against the crater again making it twice as large.

Broly laughed as he jumped off Trunks's body and tried to slam his feet against Trunks's again only for the saiyan human to roll out of the way as he landed on the ground.

Trunks then threw a punch only for Broly to sway, he then performed a sweep kick, as expected Broly jumped before he could land. The half saiyan kept trying to hit the giant only for him to either side step or sway showing off his speed. 'He knows now.' He thought as he flew upward after Broly.

Broly laughed as he swayed every punch and kick. "You seem rather slow." The giant noted as he slammed his fist into the time traveler's gut.

"GAH!" Trunks cringed as he took the blow, Broly then made a high kick up Trunks's jaw sending him flying, the half saiyan stopped himself midair, then put his hands over his head making a golden energy ball between them. "Ultra Finish Buster!" He yelled unleashing his golden energy blast at the brute.

Broly made a shield of green energy, blocking the blast creating a giant yellow explosion.

Trunks then threw a volley of energy blasts at him trying to break through his shield, however Broly just charged through with his shield deflecting the blasts and slammed into him.

"Hah, you thought that you could defeat me with power alone?!" Broly laughed at his opponent was getting up from the assault. "Such idiocy." He stated laughing. "HAHAHAHA!"

Trunks glared at Broly as he was panting in exhaustion, keeping this form was taxing enough even without a fight. "Funny, I was thinking the same way about you." He stated with a smirk that would make his father proud.

Broly frowned at that comment and growled in anger. The legendary super saiyan then in a blinding speed charged at the USSJ throwing vicious fast punches that Trunks couldn't defend against due to his large build. The larger saiyan ended his attack by grabbing the half saiyan by his arms and tossed him aside, sending him skidding across the field. The giant ran laughing and kicked Trunks's body upward. The madman then threw a green energy blast at Trunks, the blast crashed against him sending him downward before detonating in a large green explosion. "HAHAHAHA!"

Through the smoke the large figure of Trunks stood and before he walked through looking extremely damaged. "*PANT* *PANT*" Trunks's USSJ form faded and he was reverted to his base form. This was what he new would happen, he knew the weaknesses of the ultra super saiyan and new that Broly's LSSJ form was different had no such weakness.

Broly looked at Trunks with his toothy grin. "Finished already?" He asked rhetorically before laughing again. "HAHAHAHA!"

Trunks fell on one knee and continued panting. "Yeah, I am, but so are you." He said grinning.

The giant continued laughing as if he had't heard what Trunks was saying, his light green aura surrounding him affecting the environment around him. The saiyan shook as he felt his energy surging. "My energy is rising!" He said to himself in eagerness. "Yes!"

Trunks looked behind Broly and ran out of the way. However for some reason Broly continued laughing as the half saiyan kept running. But thought nothing of it, in the short time he knew Broly he already knew that he was insane. "17, 18... do it now!"

17 and 18 stood back to back aiming their energy attacks at Broly, as Trunks got out of the way they fired their combined technique. "Infinite Photon Blitz!" They yelled in union, the recoil of the blast sent the twins back crashing a large boulder.

The blast hit the laughing Broly, sending him flying with the blast.

Trunks watched as the blast was fired, he couldn't sense it but if it hit Broly and sent him flying then it was powerful. As the blast blew past him he tried standing his ground as he felt the wind rush past him with the attack.

The blast detonated against the ruins of a city Broly destroyed,and crated a huge orange explosion.

*BOOM*

The whirlwinds of the explosion were everywhere, blowing against everything, sending boulders and the like away. Trunks was blown back and fell on his back. The warrior closed his eyes in pain and sat up. "Aah, that better be it." Trunks stated as he stood up and turned around to see 17 and 18 far away getting out of crater. Trunks stood and started floating to where they were.

16 flew to 17 and grabbed him over his shoulder. "Are you alright 17?"

17 grunted as he got out of 16's grip. "Yeah I'm fine." He said as he wobbled and nearly fell only for 16 to catch him. "Tch" He was embarrassed that he needed help, he then looked over to his sister. "Sis what about you?"

18 cringed as she tried standing up. "Still alive." She replied dryly as she tried standing up, her arms hurt like hell from firing that attack. "I really hope we don't have to do that again." She growled in pain as she tried standing up, she then sees a gloved hand in front of her. The android looked up to see Trunks with a frown then a smile. She reluctantly took his hand and tried helping her stand up. When she was about to fall he put her arm around his shoulder the way 16 did with 17.

"Good job." Trunks stated honestly, then looked to 17 and 16. "All of you, that was some attack you two pulled."

18 smiled at the compliment, she was glad that she was receiving some recognition from Trunks. "Thanks"

Trunks couldn't help but look at her smile, this was the first time he noticed since he decided to move on but it looked... pretty. The half-saiyan couldn't help but look at the android for a few seconds before hearing 17 do a cough to get his and her attention.

"Hate to interrupt." 17 stated as 18 cut him with her eyes. "But Tarble, is really dead?" He asked with a frown.

Trunks sighed and gave a frown. "I sensed Tarble's energy disappear just before we got to Broly." He stated with a scowl. "We were too late by a few seconds."

17 growled that they actually did lose someone, sure 17 may not have liked Tarble that much but he was a goal that he wanted to surpass and now he was gone.

"But don't worry, we'll just use the dragonballs to wish him back." Trunks replied with a smile.

17 sighed in relief. "That's a relief, he and I still have that rematch." He stated with a challenging smirk.

18 decided to throw a jab. "Yes that was the only reason you were worried."

"Whatever"

Trunks chuckled slightly seeing 17 and 18's antics. For a moment he felt free, that he could actually let go. "Come on we better-" He cut himself off as he felt a familiar energy, his eyes widened his pupils shook in fear.

18 looked as Trunks stopped himself. "Trunks... don't tell me." She too started to feel it, a familiarly strong energy and it was growing stronger. "No"

17 already could tell from the looks of Trunks and 18, he looked at 16. "Their kidding right?" 17 asked.

16 closed his eyes and shook his head.

"B-but how, no one could have survived that attack." 17 stated clenching his teeth in fear. "There's no way." He said growling.

"I know." Trunks stated clenching his fists as he looked to the direction he sensed Broly. "We need to go now!" He yelled as he flew carrying 18. "Come on 16!"

The android flew up after him carrying 17, all of them flying towards the ship.

As they flew they see green energy blasts spreading from Broly's direction scattering across the planet. The blasts were scattered and th warriors tried avoiding or deflecting the blasts that were coming their way.

As Trunks dodged a blast he curses himself for not putting the ship in capsule form first. "I hope the ship is in tact.

Meanwhile far away, Broly was laughing manically as he flew in the direction he was blasted from. The giant was knocked out, last thing he remembered was his energy rising, he was taking a new level of power when those two blasted him away. When he came too he managed to power up to his LSSJ with no trouble, and he got rid of any excess energy his body couldn't withstand. "Here I come maggots, HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

He felt stronger than before and was planning to use it to squash his opponents like insects.

Trunks and the others got in front of the ship. The half saiyan looked to where he sensed where Broly was coming from.

18 looked at Trunks looked at him. "Trunks, what are you waiting for, let's get on the ship."

Trunks turned to 16 who was about to board. "16" The robot turned to him. "Take 18, too." He said to him.

For a moment no one said a word, 16 only nodded as he laid 17 down on one wall of the ship from the inside, the robot grabbed the woman.

"Wait!" 18 yelled and looked to Trunks. "Trunks, what are you doing?"

Trunks only turned around and yelled as he transformed again. The warrior cringed doing so. "You guys get to the hyperbolic time chamber and train for another year." He stated.

"What?"

"There's no time to argue, he'd catch up to the ship and destroy it." Trunks replied. "I'm the only one who can fight him right now, you guys should get ready to destroy him we don't know if he knows about his father wanting earth." He said. "Besides you can revive me with the dragonballs along with Tarble."

18's pupils shook, her eyes were beginning to water. She knows he can be revived but she didn't want him hurt, or killed anyway. Death should never be ok, especially if it was for her sake.

"Hey!" 17 yelled from inside the ship getting Trunks to turn his head to him. "Don't die on us." He said earning surprised looks from Trunks and his fellow androids. "I don't care if we can bring you back, I don't want any of us to have to explain to your mom that we let you kick the bucket got it?"

Trunks said nothing but smirked. "Noted"

"Trunks" 16 began as he started boarding the ship. "I apologize, even with the other android's power cores I was unable to assist you like I wanted."

"Don't worry about it." Trunks stated simply, he then made a glance at 18.

18 looked at Trunks and couldn't believe what he was attempting. The SSJ can't stand up to Broly, he should know that. "Trunks, please just get on the ship, we can make it, we.." She fell silent as she felt Broly's presence getting closer and hearing his magical laugh.

"GAHAHAHA!"

Trunks looked to the direction he heard the laugh and felt the energy, he could see Broly in the distance. "Go now!"

The door started closing much to 18's dismay, she struggled in 16's grip but her arms, her whole body was too damaged from her attack. "Trunks no, please!" She yelled as the door closed and the ship started igniting it's engines.

Trunks turned around quickly to see Broly coming to a stop a few feet in front of him and floating above him.

Broly grinned and looked to see the ship. "Your friends trying to escape?" The LSSJ asked as he got an energy blast ready in his right hand. "I'm afraid no one leaves this battle alive!"

Trunks immediately flew in front of the ship and extended his arms at his sides blocking Broly's view.

"Hmph, die with them!" He yelled as he thrusted his arm back ready to throw it.

The half saiyan smirked as he put his hand to his head. "Solar flare!" The saiyan human yelled unleashing a shining light onto Broly once again.

"Gah!" He yelled firing the energy blast into the wrong direction away from the ship. The brute put his hands to his face trying to cover his eyes. He couldn't believe that he felt for that trick again.

Trunks looked at Broly and then up toward the ship that was flying. "I'm counting on you guys." He stated, he never knew he'd say but he did. Hopefully 17 and 18 will gain the power to surpass him, they need to against Broly, the SSJ then turned his head to Broly who was clinging to his eyes in pain. "We'll If I am going down, then I might as well go down fighting like I'm sure Tarble did." He stated as he powered up. 'Is this how it was for you Gohan?' He thought of his master when he knocked him out before going to face... the controlled 17 and 18.

"Alright Broly, now get ready for your end!" Trunks yelled as he powered up, while Broly was still struggling to open his eyes.

Well this chapter was one of my favorites to write, but now Trunks is all alone. What will he do now? Is he really going to die? If he does will 17 and 18 be able to beat him even after a second day in the time chamber. Find out in the next chapter.

About him going Ultra Super Saiyan, the reason he used it was because it was the only way to actually hurt Broly, sure he has speed without his USSJ form but what good is speed if you can't hurt your opponent or take the damage his attacks can dish out? The only advantage Trunks had over Broly was skill, his strength was equal but like his canon counterpart's battle with perfect Cell he learned that strength is no good if you can't hit your opponent or dodge their attacks.

But like I said Broly fight's on instinct, without thinking of his next move at least that's what I believe, and Trunks already knew the forms weakness so he was prepared. Plus he only needed to buy time which he did.

Moving on, now we get to how Broly survived 17 and 18's combined infinite blast. Remember 18 could sense energy and feel her own so she only fired once she was sure it was enough power to take him out, however Broly's power was increasing as she was firing the blast, once his power had gotten stronger he was able to tank the blast even though it knocked him out for a few seconds. So while the attack did knock him out which was why no one could sense his energy, like Goku and the others couldn't sense Frieza after the saiyan fired the spirit bomb at him.

Thx, I'm glad I was able to make Broly into the sadistic brawler we all know and love. Yup and now that he's at full power he's as arrogant but right now... he kind of has a right to be.

Will Tarble stay dead? Good question, he may have a reason to stay in otherworld, but he also has a reason to return to life with his remaining family. You'll see.

Lazer355- Oh yeah your right, now all we have left is Broly and Trunks. Now there the only ones fighting, if you can call it that.
