Self Acceptance and Clash of Evil

Trunks just got home to Capsule Corporation, he's in his room thinking of Lazuli's situation. He knows she's strong but something didn't sit right with just leaving her alone, Lapis just told him to give her space, so maybe he should.

He thought back to what Kibito had said.

"Babidi's spell only works on those who carry evil, even the smallest amount."

Trunks thought of how the twins were back then, when they were just Androids 17 and 18. They were cruel, enjoying the death of humans left and right. At the time, they weren't people just machines to him but now that he's made friends with them he can look back and see that they actually had personalities. Personalities that showed they weren't just machine they were still human.

Android 17 loved toying with his opponents in battle, making sure they fought at their best before he put them down, and treated life like it was a big game to them. After he was brought back to life he was no psychopath and didn't care of the idea of killing. Hell, Lapis even felt remorse for what he'd done, especially after that story earlier.

Android 18 just wanted the fight over with, so she can take whatever clothes she like from one of the wrecked clothing stores around the city. She still reveled in the destruction and murder but was more focused on 'shopping'.

Now that he thought about it their personalities were the same, only without all the sadism. Lapis toyed with Android 13 even though he could have destroyed him easily. Lazuli still enjoys trying on new clothes, he learned that from the shopping trip he helped her with.

'One thing's for sure I can't just sit still.'

Trunks had gotten up from bed and walked out of his room down the stairs. He sees his mother getting herself some coffee wearing her lab coat. She was probably working on upgrading 16. "Hey mom."

Bulma looked over to Trunks. "Hey son, you ok? Your home earlier than usual. Shouldn't you be training with the twins?"

"I was but something came up and had to finish early." Trunks looked nervous but decided to change the subject. "So, how're 16's upgrades going?"

"Good, not sure if I'll have them ready in time to chase that evil wizard guy though." Bulma sipped her coffee and sighed. "What's wrong, I can tell something's on your mind."

'Should have known that mom would find me easy to read.' He might as well ask. "Mom, do you think Lapis and Lazuli" He took a moment trying to find the right words for this. "Are a little how they were before?"

Bulma was surprised by this for a moment she had a puzzled look then she got worried. "Wait Trunks, please tell me you're not going back to not trusting them, are you?"

"No mom, it's just that, Lazuli, she's scared of chasing Babidi because she thinks he'll control her." His mother only went back to looking confused. "Don't you remember? The Supreme Kai's assistant, Kibito said that Babidi can control anyone evil."

Bulma mulled over what he said and remembered. "Oh" She put a hand to her chin. "I don't think so, I mean I don't really know because I never saw them except back when they were on the news." The woman looked to Trunks. "What about you, you fought them multiple times do you think they could be controlled?"

Trunks wanted to just say no but what he was thinking in his room kept him from doing so. "I do think their pretty similar to how they were before but without any malice. After spending time with them I don't think their evil, maybe a little mean streak but nothing I would call evil, so no."

"Funny" Bulma smiled. "That's actually how I felt about your father." She then frowned at the situation. "Still I think I see why she'd be scared. I mean I wouldn't know what it's like but the idea of doing what someone else wants you to do, that has to be terrifying."

"Yeah" Trunks scratched the back of his head with a long sigh. "Mom, Lapis thinks I should give her some space, but I can't help worrying, what do you think I should do?"

"That's a toughie." Bulma scratched her chin. "My advice Trunks is, do what feels right."

"What?"

"You heard me, you've known these two longer than I have, if anyone knows what to do it's you, you spent time with them more than me or really anyone else." Bulma pointed out. "I know Lapis is her brother but you should have a good idea on what to do you spent time with her on that shopping trip right?"

The son of Vegeta nodded and smiled to his mother. "Thanks mom, I know what I want to do now. Is it ok if I talk to 16?"

"Sure, he's just in the lab."

Trunks walked into the lab to see the Android lying on a table with wires attatched to his arms and his chest. "Hey 16."

"Trunks"

"I need to know can you tell me where Lazuli is?"

Lazuli is still on the island lying down in the shade of the tree, she came here to get away from her brother or anyone that can talk her into helping in the fight against Babidi. She's starting to hate herself for it now.

'What am I doing, I've never been such a coward.' She squeezed her fists. 'But it might be better this way, I just wish Lapis could see it my way.' Then she felt something, she stood up and looked ahead of the island. 'Trunks's energy.' She is contemplating on running away, but she refused. She'll hear what he has to say and then stick to her choice. She was preparing what she was going to say when she sees the swords man flying towards her.

Trunks stopped over the island and looks down to see Lazuli. The saiyan slowly floated down until he was just a few feet away from her. "Lazuli"

"Trunks" She narrowed her eyes. "Did my brother tell you anything?"

"He did, but he told me to stay away." Trunks said sounding nervous. "If you're going to be mad then be mad at me, I just wanted to make sure your ok."

A sigh escaped her lips, 16 must have located her. "I'm fine, now please, I like to be alone."

Trunks didn't he just stood there trying to find something to say, he couldn't bring himself to leave her alone.

"Trunks?"

He looked back to Lazuli and decided to try something. "Look, Lazuli I'm not here to try to talk you into anything."

Lazuli looked to Trunks. "What?"

"I, just... I finished training early and thought maybe you'd like to go on one of your shopping trips again."

Lazuli was surprised by this offer. "And if I say no?"

"Then I'll leave you alone, it's just that have plenty of zeni on me, don't really feel like training and thought you'd like another shopping spree, I mean you did say you'd prefer to have me help with shopping than your brother." Trunks chuckled at the last bit.

The shopping did sound nice, plus with the money she can buy so much than with what little she gets from Lapis's pay and it could get her mind off things. "Are you going to talk about Babidi?"

"No, not unless you want to." Trunks promised. "Just you me and whatever outfits you're getting."

Lazuli looked intensely at Trunks, she's sure that he's not the type to lie, but he didn't seem to like her shopping trip the first time. "Ok, but the minute you say a word about Babidi, I'm leaving."

Trunks nodded and flew with Lazuli behind him.

Bojack is walking through the halls of the base that Babidi has been using, the green giant was given free rein to wander the building but was given stick orders not to leave the building. He was looking for something to relieve his boredom. He then sees ahead the pink horned man that needed to learn his place walking as well. He stopped just in front of him with a smirk about to open his mouth but then the disrespectful maggot just walks past him without a glance.

Angered by this new recruit ignoring him he turns around. "Hey worm, where are you going?"

Dabura stopped and turned around with a non-caring glance. "I am on my way to Master Babidi to deliver some information."

"Oh, really and what might that be?"

"Nothing that concerns you brute, now back on your patrol."

"What?! For your information Master Babidi has allowed me the freedom to go as I please." Bojack really wanted to rip this fool to shreds for the tone he dares to talk to him with and he can't just let this fool walk away. "What about you are you just a messenger for Master Babidi?" He mocked.

"Ha!" Dabura turned completely around. "He's happen put me in charge of this army that you have given him, meaning I am his second in command."

"W-what?!" Bojack was stunned, this used to be his army. "Your lying! You have to be why would he do that?! This was my army I conquered it!"

The Demon King gave a toothy grin. "It is as I've said, you are a mere brute, I am a true warrior of the highest class. I've lead demon realm for countless eons, I've lead armies of demons to victory while you ran your own empire to the ground by allowing the kais to seal you in your planet's star! Do you really think Master Babidi will allow an idiot like you to lead an army?"

Bojack tried to retort but couldn't say anything, no he only gritted his teeth every fiber of his being demanded him to end this worm. But the 'Majin' seal kept him from moving an inch. Master Babidi gave strict orders not to fight his 'comrade'.

"I thought so." Dabura smirked that he had won the verbal battle and began walking away.

Then he felt an energy spike.

He merely smirked turned around and blocked a punch that shook the entire base. "Disobeying Master Babidi's orders, he won't be pleased with you attacking me."

"Shut up! I'm going to kill you!"

The Demon King merely smiled. "Very well but let's go elsewhere we wouldn't want Master Babidi being caught in the crossfire."

Bojack pulled back his fist and flew through the roof of the building creating a hole through it.

"Worthless brute." Dabura flew up through that same hole.

Trunks and Lazuli flew until they spotted a small town. They flew downward into an alley where they couldn't be spotted and walked around. The half saiyan still found it to be a drag to come with her on these shopping trips but he thought that she could use a friend right now and hid his attitude of it.

The two would go clothing store after clothing store using capsules that Trunks brought to pocket the outfits she liked.

Lazuli started enjoying herself, she started reverting back to her usual demeanor. For a bit she was starting to forget all about Babidi and enjoying the trip. She looked back to her side to see Trunks was giving a small grin. Was he enjoying her company?

The two then went to a big restaurant, Trunks ate like usual while she only ate a small bowl of rice with soup.

"Could you show a bit of manners when you're eating with me?" She asked irritated.

The half saiyan stopped to look at her with a large amount of chicken in his mouth. He swallowed completely and gave an awkward look. "Sorry"

Despite the disgusted looks she was giving at his saiyan appetite she was grateful for this, it made her feel normal. Just hanging out with a friend and there was nothing to worried about.

Still she had to ask. "How's Lapis?"

"Lapis? He's fine, we're still training together."

She stirred her soup and stared at him. "Isn't he worried too?"

Trunks pause for a moment trying to find the right words to say. "He's sure that Babidi can't control him."

"He said to kill him if he could, didn't he?" Trunks looked surprised that she knew. "Thought so, with the dragon balls I knew he'd only get more reckless." A sigh escaped her lips as she was trying to ask something else. "Do you think that Babidi can control us, that we're still anything we were like before?"

The half human was silent for a moment, he had just asked his mother that very same question but he already had his own answer. "You are like you were before"

Lazuli made a side glance still givng her serious demeanor but trying to hide what she was really feeling.

"But no I don't think Babidi can control you." She looked at him confused. "You have similar habits like how you always out your hair behind your ear before a battle."

Lazuli put her hand through her hair blushing that he'd notice that.

"And Lapis still loves to toy with his opponents, you remember that fight with Android 13 right?"

She nodded, back when they were programmed, Android 17 always toyed with the Super Saiyans. She also had a hand in that too now that she thought of it.

"Although looking back I also had a hand in letting Android 13 transform."

Lazuli gave a questioning stare. "What do you mean by that, you tried to warn him remember?"

Trunks dragged out a sigh. "As you know I didn't trust you two at the time, after just finding out that you weren't bad." The Android nodded listening to him. "I could have told you what 13 was planning to do, but I didn't. I didn't know it at the time but I think I was hoping for 13 to transform so you can take each other out." He looked at her seeing nothing but her usual blank face. "I owe both you and your brother an apology for that. I'm really sorry Lazuli."

Lazuli merely smirked at that. "Well nobody's perfect, it happened. And we won, you let go of the past and so should I."

The son of Vegeta let out a breath glad he was forgiven.

The cyborg then frowned. "But, I'm still not sure about going after Babidi I'm sorry but- "

"It's fine." Trunks said to interrupt her. "I meant when I said I wasn't trying to change your mind, I just want you to know that I don't see any real trace of Android 18 anywhere."

Lazuli for once gave a worried expression one that was so rare Lapis could barely find it. "But how can you be sure?"

"Your guilt." Trunks gave a serious look of his own. "You feel responsible because it was your power that destroyed everything, even though it wasn't you." He looked at her face still confused.

"Android 18 had no remorse over what she did, she enjoyed it, the same went for 17, until you and your brother were brought back to life." Trunks had smile with what he said next. "I've fought the Androids countless times, I've seen it in their eyes, the void view they had on humanity. But after you were brought back whenever I sparred with you or Lapis, I don't see any of it now, I only see my friends."

Lazuli wasn't sure what to say at that, so Trunks continued.

"So that's how I know that Android 18 and Lazuli aren't the same person." Trunks put the Zeni he brought on the table. "Sorry but I have to go now, I have to go see if I can help mom with 16, use whatever's left for the rest of your shopping. That ok with you?"

The woman had her eyes wide from that explanation and she nodded.

Trunks then put a capsule case in front of her. "Here's your clothes, I'll see you later Lazuli."

She watched as Trunks left, feeling astonished at the little speech he gave her. What should she do now?

Bojack and Dabura flew to the other side of the planet hoping their master wouldn't notice.

Both fighters floated downward to the ground a few feet from the other.

The Demon King rose his arms to his side. "Well then let's begin, shall we?"

The Pirate Lord gave a toothy grin. "I'll show you the meaning of carnage!" Wrapped in a green aura he charged forward.

Bojack rushed Dabura with fast punches and kicks. None were connecting as the demon was able to weave and block the predictable attacks.

Dabura side steps a punch from the hera and throw a punch to the green man's face.

The pirate's body skidded across the ground, he put his right hand on his face. That punch actually hurt more than he thought it would.

Dabura appeared in front of him with his hand right at Bojack's face. Bojack grabbed the demon's wrist and pulled his hand away from his face as it unleashed a red energy wave that just missed his face and blasted through the terrain behind him.

The pirate then punched the demon king's causing him to keel over and let out some spittle.

With a smile Bojack gripped Dabura's head and head but him. The green man then kicks Dabura away.

Dabura rolled himself back to his feet and sees a green energy blast headed from. Quickly he kicks the blast upwards then he sees Bojack charging with his elbow out. The demon forms an X with his arms to block the strike. The brute drags Dabura's feet by a couple feet.

The two servants glared at each other, both wanted to prove to the other that they were Babidi's strongest minion. And also, they personally hate those that challenge their power. Both jumped back a meter from each other.

Bojack's green aura showed with black lightning surrounding him.

Dabura had a toothy grinned and powered up as well. Now the show was over and it was time to show their true power.

The Supreme Kai and Kibito were on the dead planet where Babidi opened a portal through the demon realm.

"Just what was Babidi doing here?" Supreme Kai asked with Kibito looking around trying to find out what interest the wizard had here.

"This seems like a dead-end sir perhaps we-" Kibito stopped as he just felt something and looked up at the stars.

Supreme Kai stopped just like Kibito and looked up as well. "W-what ferocious energy."

"I sense the pirate Bojack, and- s-someone else is there too."

Supreme Kai was trying to sense this other energy that is clearly fighting Bojack, he knows that whoever it belongs to they are not on his side. "This energy, it belongs to a demon." He observed then he looked frightened, only one demon could be a match for Bojack. "It's Dabura!"

Kibito's eyes were widened by this as well, both the Pirate Lord and the Demon King are under Babidi's command. Sure, they're fighting each other now, but who knows when that might change.

Supreme Kai shook off his fear and looked to Kibito. "We should go back to earth."

Both the Bojack and Dabura brought themselves into a clash of punches and kicks. The impacts of their attacks are shaking the planet.

They disappeared and reappeared across the landscape. Creating explosions air from their strength.

Dabura dodged a punch from Bojack and shoulder threw him downward.

The pirate stopped his momentum before he could hit the ground creating a dust cloud under his levitating body. With an angry face, he charged at the demon with his fists cocked back.

Smiling Dabura slashed a hand through the air creating a white energy slash.

Bojack stopped and rose his arms to block the attack. He manages to survive the energy slash however it left a scorching scar across his right arm and abdomen. He swung his arms apart angry that the attack actually hurt him.

Dabura grinned at the snarling pirate, this proved that he was right about his opponent. Sure, this green man had a little more power than he did but the Demon King had the skill that overlaps the gap in strength. He'd win this little battle.

Bojack roared, the veins on his body grew from his anger. He hated this smug caped bastard, for actually able to wound him. The kais themselves feared him, this demon had no right to even be in his presence. He didn't care about Babidi, right now his real self wants to prove to everyone that he is the strongest in the universe.

He once again charged after the demon.

Dabura swung his hand two more times but the green goliath only pushed through it like it was nothing. He was then kneed by the angry pirate causing him to spit out some spittle, Bojack then slammed both hands on his back sending the demon to crash to the ground.

Dabura pushed himself shaking his head, he looked up to see Bojack charging downward with a kick. He jumped back as the kick slammed into the ground creating a huge crater into the ground.

Bojack looked absolutely livid but he continued his assault and flew out of the crater.

Dabura got on the defensive as Bojack swung his punches and kicks. The demon was able to predict where the hera's attacks allowing him to dodge.

"Hold still!" Bojack threw another punch only for Dabura to fly back letting the fist hit only air. The hera flew at him with angry veins on his body.

Dabura sees that Bojack is already catching up, quickly he raises one hand. "Sword!" A curved sword appeared in his hand, he swung diagonally on the pirate's chest.

Bojack caught off guard felt the blade cut him, he looked down to see the scar on his chest reopen leaking out purple blood.

Dabura smirked and chuckled. "Sorry, I didn't mean to open some old wounds."

The hera let out a loud roar. "I WILL KILL YOU!"

Dabura looked at the demented pirate. 'He lost it faster than I thought.'

Bojack punched Dabura across the jaw forcing the demon to drop his blade and kicked him in the chest launching him away. The hera then rose his arms letting out a green ball of energy and threw it.

Dabura caught himself an flew to the side avoiding the energy blast, he smiled as he sensed the amount of energy that was used to create that attack. 'As I thought, he'll waste his energy desperate to kill me.'

Bojack flew forward with green energy in his right hand, he tossed it forming many small energy balls at him.

Dabura nimbly deflected or dodged through the trap shooter. He saw the pirate getting close.

Bojack charged and threw a punch but it went right through an after image. This further enraged him looking left and right for the coward.

Dabura was a meter away with his hand pointed at the pirate's back. "Looking, for, me?!" He fires a red and black energy ball.

Bojack turns completely around only for the Evil Impulse to explode on his chest sending him crashing through the ground creating a trail of crushed rock across the land. The pirate had one eye open with the other swollen shut growling as he sees Dabura flying after him.

Dabura was ready to finish Bojack off, he could feel that the brute's energy was plummeting he's won!

A smirk decorated Bojack's face as he sat up raising his hands at Dabura.

The demon king was ready to deflect an energy blast but he suddenly stopped a foot before his opponent. His arms were forced tight to his sides his legs were together as well, as if he was tied up. He glowed purple for a moment until he was completely immobile "What?!"

Bojack laughed up a storm as he got up with his hands still aimed at the Demon King. "Hahahaha! I've won!"

Dabura tried to understand what was happened, he sees a sort of thin string coming from Bojack's fingers, this must be what's constraining him! Then purple electric shocks covered his body as he felt his own energy being drained. "Aaaah!"

"Hahahaha! I will drain your energy until you are nothing but the helpless creature I know you are!" Bojack then paused as he heard a chuckle coming from the demon.

"Fool, you're the one who's lost." Dabura smirked at his confused face, then he spat at his chest.

Bojack growled as he felt the spit then smirked. "For that your death will be slower." He then felt his chest hardened, he looked down to his chest to see his chest turning to stone. "What?!" He dropped his technique out of panic and touched his chest feeling rock. "What is this!?" He felt his shoulders turning to stone he looked up at the laughing Dabura. "Make it stop!" He yelled as his mouth and head were turned to stone.

Bojack was now a statue looking frightened.

Dabura landed on the ground and walked forward until he was at arm's length with the statue Bojack. "Hm! Master Babidi has no need for your idiocy." He rose one hand ready to strike the statue.

"Dabura!"

He stopped. "Master Babidi?"

"What do you idiots think you're doing?"

Dabura made a nervous face. "My apologies master, but he assaulted me, I had to defend myself-"

"Silence! I don't care just reverse what you done. You can do it, can't you?"

"But master Babidi is this necessary, he will strike me again and-"

"Enough! I give the orders now reverse what you've done or I'll grant you a harsher punishment!"

Dabura was silent for a moment, the spell making him more obedient. "Yes, my master." He placed his hand on Bojack's head, he concentrated his energy, color began to return to the pirate. The Demon King pulled back his hand and backed away letting his opponent collect his bearings.

In a few moments Bojack was back to being flesh and blood. The pirate looked at his hands and at the demon king. "Your dead no-"

"Shut up!"

Bojack stopped at that remembering who he served. "Master Babidi, I"

"No more of your squalling, get back here right now!"

"Yes Master" The duo glared at each other but let their grudges go for now as they flew back to the palace.

Trunks was at home discussing how to help upgrade 16, the Android himself was still in their lab offline. "So, what exactly are we going to do to upgrade 16?"

"I… haven't figured that out yet." Bulma looked dejected. "I could let him turn off his clockwork limiter but then he could destroy his own body with that kind of power."

Trunks put a hand under his chin. "What if we could get some stronger metal for his body, we can just download his mind into another stronger one right?"

"I'd love to, but Dr Gero, evil or not had some of the best of the best, he got the best material earth has to offer. I bet we'd have to make a trip to space to see if we can get some stronger materials, but I don't think we'd have time for that right now."

Trunks got silent at that trying to think of what else to do when Supreme Kai and Kibito just appeared in front of the two. This caught Bulma off guard and land on her butt.

"Hey! Warn me when you're going to do that?!" She shrieked at the duo causing them to step back from the outburst.

"I apologize miss. But I'm here on the utmost urgency." Supreme Kai turned to Trunks who was only slightly shocked by their entrance.

"Supreme Kai, did you find Babidi?"

"Yes" The kai grimaced at what he was going to say next. "And I'm afraid we might be outmatched."

Trunks and Bulma looked shocked at that.

"What do you mean?" Bulma asked. "You said it yourself that Trunks would have won if the fight have kept going right? So what happened."

"Babidi has added a new recruit, Demon King Dabura and he's as strong as Bojack."

Trunks got flabbergasted at that. "What? That's impossible, how can there be this many people as strong as Broly." He remembered that monster, his power was no joke.

"I know it's hard to believe which is why I think it's time to take you for training."

"Wait you can train me?" Trunks asked confused. "Then why didn't you do that when you came here first."

"I wasn't sure if I needed to, also this is against the rules."

"Which is why you should reconsider Master, taking him to the planet of the Kais may be excessive."

"No Kibito" The Supreme Kai looked at his assistant. "You know what we're up against, Babidi has proven that even without Buu he is a great threat. Who knows what others he'll recruit in his army."

Kibito nodded knowing that his master did know best, no harm in allowing a mortal on their planet.

"Now Trunks we need to go now so that we may prepare."

Trunks nodded walking to them before stopping. "Wait, could my friend Lapis join, he might benefit from this too."

Supreme Kai nodded. "That might help yes."

"Alright, let me call him, he'll definitely want to join in."

Well that was fun to write. A moment for Trunks and Lazuli.

Right now Lazuli is out of the equation, but trust me she'll have a pretty big role in this arc. Right now she needs to accept that she wasn't herself under Gero's programming, just because Trunks accepted her doesn't mean she has. Lapis has to some extent, he think's he could be but is counting on Trunks or 16 to put him down and wish him back. IF he could be controlled.

Now for Dabura and Bojack fighting. They may be under Babidi's spell but do you remember how Dabura tried to kill Buu? Yeah they still have some independence from their master which is what lead to them fighting.

So this chapter had a little bit of romance, also a small battle between two of the current big baddies. If you we're looking for TrunksxLazuli/18 I hope you enjoyed it, looking for a fight I hope you enjoyed Dabura vs Bojack. If you were looking for both I hoped you enjoyed this chapter.

So for some reason the less than greater sign doesn't show up on my document. And thats my power scaling. What do you think? Am I being generous, being too harsh?

Shotgun - Any proof?

shadowwriter01- Yeah, I had that backstory planned for a while, I thought now would be the time to share it.

And yeah, like I said before I loved Babidi's ability, don't care for him but his power to enslave anyone evil always made me want to see more of it.

FF8cerebus - It's the future timeline, everyone has some shit happen to them. Well not the future timeline but one of the timelines that was messed up from Goku having that heart virus and all. It hurt to put Lapis through that, writing things like this make me sad.

And yeah your right she's in a comepletley different situation than she would have been in canon. I only asked because when I write a character into a situation I wonder how they would react and how far would they get like that and try not to go too far. I think maybe I'll stop worrying about that.

SuperSaiyajin4Vegeta- That's my fault I just don't post frequently enough. And yeah I guess I shouldn't worry so much, the 18 in canon never slaughtered millions and was being controlled by an insane scientist.
