I rewrote the previous chapter a little bit, not much just changed Zangya and Lapis's conversation to him telling her that he knows Lazuli wouldn't kill her. Just thought I'd let you all know, u can reread it if u want but it's not much of a change just wanted to fix an error and thought everyone should know.
Anyway sorry for the wait guys, no excuses just hope u enjoy the chapter.
Ignorance Is Bliss
All her life Iolite was told stories of the previous Z-fighters, how they bravely fought against the Saiyan attack and the alien tyrant Frieza.
Then how they bravely fought against the evil Androids only to perish leaving behind her father and Gohan.
After years of living under their reign, Gohan was taken down by the androids leaving Trunks alone.
Then her father went to the past in her grandmother's time machine found out about more androids that were good. When he returned he located them with her grandmother's help. These androids were a woman that would become her mother and another that would be her uncle. Lapis and Lazuli helped stopped the evil androids then became friends with her father and grandmother.
After more battles down the road, her mother and father married and had her.
That's the story she was told.
And now she was learning the truth.
Lazuli can see that she's beginning to understand and continued. "Dr. Gero had us under programming, mind control that made us attack everything." She squeezed her fists seeing her daughter's face, she continued. "We attacked a city because something in our minds told us to, we didn't know why we did it, then when your grandmother's friends attacked, we" She struggled as she sees the look in Iolite's eyes. What she isn't telling us that it made them think they were enjoying it, she'll save keep for later when she can understand.
Trunks sees she's struggling and looks at their daughter's face. He looked at his wife about to say something. But she signaled him to stop, she had said that she was the one who was going to tell her. He looked back at their daughter's face.
The young girl looked confused and scared. Her entire world was turning upside down.
After building up the nerve Lazuli continued. "Iolite your uncle and I were the androids that almost ended the world, Trunks was able to stop us and we were saved from the control Dr. Gero had on us." She finished looking at her daughter's face. All that was hard to say, it was something she dreaded since the day Iolite was born but part of her felt relieved telling her after years of made-up stories.
Iolite's face looked distraught; this was just too much. All the stories she was told were nothing but lies and she wished they were true. She thought of the people she met when she started going to school, she heard about the androids from some of her classmates, who were told by their older siblings or parents. Some were orphans from the rampages, others raised by one parent or older sibling. Since she could talk, she has known androids that were nothing but good to her. Including her mother, uncle Lapis and uncle 16 and she was very curious about how bad the actual androids were.
She never imagined they her mother and uncle all along. She thought of the largest Android. "W-what about 16?"
That surprised the parents, but they shouldn't be, she's understanding that they lied to her. Now she was questioning the only Android that didn't do permanent damage. Trunks decided to answer this. "16 was never a part of it, he wasn't even activated during that time."
Tears started to fall down the child's face. "Is that a lie?" She asked and looked at her father.
Trunks shook his head. "No Iolite, it's tr-"
Iolite interrupted. "You lied to me before why should I believe you now?" Tears were falling down her face. "How do I know it's not a lie?"
"Iolite we only wanted to wait until you were older." Trunks explained. "Please trust us, we only wanted what was best for you."
The young girl shook her head and kept crying. "You lied to me again and again." She looked at her mother who only wore a stoic frown, the young girl glared. "Both of you!"
Lazuli fought not to look away, she needed to see her and be strong for her.
The little girl felt a mix of anger and sadness. Sadness that her mother was responsible for some of her classmates had no parents or family, anger that her family kept this from her and told her nothing but lies.
Trunks sensed her power swelling and sees her hair starting to go up, he knew what was coming, he wasn't going to allow this to trigger her transformation. "Iolite listen-"
"You lied!" Her energy pushed against Trunks making him stagger. Her eyes started turning turquoise and her aura was changing from blue to golden.
He knew this would be hard, but he didn't think it could become her trigger to Super Saiyan. He didn't want her to have to think about that in order to transform, he needed to calm her down, he walked forward but felt a hand on his shoulder.
He looked to see Lazuli looking at him. She gave a look that said let her handle this and walked towards the transforming girl.
Iolite glared at the source of her anger, she made her think that she was the perfect mother and now is told that she was one of the killing machines all her life.
"Listen Iolite, I'm sorry, I wanted to tell you when you were ready." She squeezed her fists. "When I was ready, I, I didn't want you to see me as a monster."
The young girl heard her, but she wasn't listening, she was probably lying to her right- she stopped, and looked surprised. She sees something she never thought she'd see.
Tears were falling down her mother's face, she was actually crying. She never thought it was possible, her mother always seemed tough she always thought she was too strong to cry. Seeing her mother like this started to make her feel bad for being angry in the first place.
Her aura stopped, her hair fell down and her eyes returned to normal. She was still wrapping her head around this, how her parents lied to her, her mother and uncle were brainwashed into being the two most well-known monsters in history.
"I, I'm sorry" Iolite started tearing up. "I didn't think I"
Lazuli shook her head. "You don't have to apologize." She walked forward and wrapped her arms around the girl. "I'm sorry that we lied to you for so long."
Trunks looked at Iolite's face over her his wife's shoulder. Tears were slipping out of her eyes. It wasn't over, she needed more time to come to terms with all this.
The half Saiyan then joined his family in a group hug. It will be hard, but they will get through this as a family.
Back outside lookout Lapis and Zangya were staring outside the lookout. The Hera had finished explaining her new technique.
"So what do you think?" Zangya asked the Cyborg.
Lapis looked at her. "You're sure it works?"
"Positive"
The Cyborg put a hand to his chin, if it works the way she says it does then it could definitely help. Also, he was glad she or the rest of the Galaxy Soldiers didn't have this ability.
Zangya notices he hasn't responded and giggled. "Aw, worried for me, you can test it on me to be sure." She licked her lips. "I've been telling you I like it rough."
Lapis glanced her way. "Not dignifying that. Ok, if they come for us let me buy you time to get it ready. I'm pretty sure my sister and I can hold off these clones."
"Sure thing." Zangya nodded and looked towards the entrance to the lookout.
Lapis turned to see Trunks walked out of the building towards them. Without Iolite and Lazuli.
Trunks looked at them but focused on Lapis. "We told her the truth."
The Cyborg glanced away keeping a stoic face.
The Hera looked at him with genuine worry, she wanted to voice that they shouldn't have done that, but she was their child. And she probably had an idea because of the clones of the previous defenders of the earth. She did hope that Lapis would be ok.
Lapis didn't like the idea of her knowing at such a young age. She was always so happy to see him and now he worried how Iolite might see him next time they meet. But Lazuli already warned him.
After a few moments of being silent Trunks continued. "I'm sorry Lapis, but it had to be done now."
"Don't be sorry," Lapis replied and looked at him. "It had to be done sooner or later." He shook his head and focused on the task. "So, what exactly is the plan?"
"I still have a year left in the time chamber I'm going to use it now and take Iolite with me." He stated.
Lapis was a little miffed that Trunks would be getting a larger leap in power but understood the situation. They need to play all the cards they have. "But why Iolite? You sure it's a good idea for her right now?"
Zangya decided to voice her opinion on this. "I spent two years in that chamber, that is no place for a child."
The Saiyan looked at her in surprise as did Lapis though less so. She sounded arrogant but there was a hint of worry in her voice.
The woman blushed with embarrassment and coughed. "I-I'm only saying, maybe it's not the best course of action, she would hold you back from getting as strong as you can."
Lapis almost found it cute that she was actually embarrassed.
Trunks turned his attention back to his brother-in-law. "She needs to get stronger in case the clones have her cornered, training in the time chamber will help her relieve stress." At least he hoped it would.
The Cyborg nodded, if the clones ever get a hold of her while she's outmatched who knows what Baby would do to her. The best thing to
The Hera decided to put her two cents in. "Alright but you managed to fight to a tie with their strongest clone, so maybe you won't need the full year. Perhaps six months or even three will be enough." If this planet was a magnet for trouble, she preferred that their strongest warrior uses the time chamber sparingly, it is her new home after all.
The half Saiyan looked down taking her question seriously. "Not a bad idea, the only problem is they're not done making clones."
Lapis knew what he was thinking. "You mean..." He didn't feel comfortable saying them since one of them died by his hand while the other died by both he and his sister.
"Yes, my father, and Gohan." Trunks finished and looked at the brunette. Gohan was his role model here for so long became like a brother, Vegeta became his second role model when he met him in Hell. Both of them were impressive fighters in life and death. But an important question needs to be answered. "Listen Lapis, tell me, how did, how did my father and Gohan fare against you?"
Zangya was astonished and a bit disturbed. She has seen much in her time, but she never heard someone ask, 'how did you kill my friends and family' she looked at Lapis who was also surprised, he couldn't hide behind the bored façade he usually put on in serious situations.
The Android was a bit shook by the question. Never had the half Saiyan asked him or his sister that. And he really hated remembering it. But he knew why he was asking it was to get an idea of how strong their clones would be.
"Vegeta wasn't really a match for me, he was strong sure but he barely landed any hits." He remembered exactly how that fight went, his bravado shattered when he swayed every attack and knocked him to the ground. He remembered his face when he fired that Ki blast at the prince. "As for Gohan, he was on another level, my sister and I had to work together if he fought us one on one, he might've destroyed us." And that was with one arm. A non-comforting memory of him and his sister raining blasts on him came to mind.
Trunks listened and were just as uncomfortable, if not even more so. He never wanted to ask this, he wanted it to stay in the past. But it was important they had an idea of how strong the enemy would be. "My father will no doubt be stronger than Goku, probably not with Kaioken but still. And Gohan, I'm pretty sure he'd destroy me as I am now."
Lapis shook his head. "You're exaggerating sure, the clones are stronger than their originals, but I doubt Gohan would be strong enough to fight you."
The half Saiyan didn't say anything for a moment. "Do you remember when I wished for the dragon to let me see the timeline I left and the one that Cell went to?"
The Cyborg recalled that story. "Ya I remember, you said that Cell and Broly were stopped by Gohan in different timelines." He said. "But that Gohan had more training since he didn't have to deal with an apocalypse." He hoped that was the case.
It wasn't.
"You don't get it." Trunks said surprising Lapis. "It's not that Gohan had to train to become a Super Saiyan 2, he always had it." He explained. "Sure, the training helped but at the end of the day he's had that power since he was a child, he was a prodigy."
Lapis looked at Trunks in disbelief. "Impossible, what about when we were controlled, there was plenty of reason to transform."
"The thing is, to reach Super Saiyan 2 you can't just be angry, you need to let go of whatever restraints you have in your mind." He remembered when he transformed against Broly, he had to move on and let go of his hate towards Lapis and Lazuli. At that point in time, he was clinging to his hate and refused to move on until then. For Gohan from what he saw in the vision against Cell, he had to let go of his reservation towards fighting. "Gohan likely had the mindset needed for the transformation, his power level simply wasn't high enough since he never mastered Super Saiyan like me and my uncle Tarble did." At least that was Trunks's theory.
The Cyborg thought of Gohan further, so all along he had a terrifying amount of potential. If he had ever gotten that power, he and his sister would've been slaughtered. Which would've been for the best. He shook his head he shouldn't think of such things. "So if our Gohan has that kinda power then if they clone him-"
"We'd be destroyed." Trunks reasoned. Hopefully, they can prevent it from happening or he was exaggerating. He rather the former for he hates more of his friends to be desecrated with these imposters. Especially his father who had changed in Hell and Gohan who sacrificed everything to stop the Androids.
"Hate to interrupt." Zangya decided to put in her thoughts during their gloom and doom. "But what about your mother, 16 said she can make shut-off switches."
The half Saiyan squeezed his hands, he was trying to keep a leveled head but just thinking about his mother being under that freaks control made his stomach drop. But she's right that was a problem.
Lapis kept himself calm, he hated the idea of a remote being around but there was nothing they can do. "Oh well, guess we'll just have to hope they decided not to use it."
"That's it?" Zangya asked harshly getting his attention. "Do you really not know anything that can protect you from them?"
Lapis looked at her and shook his head.
"Great" The Hera sighed.
Trunks hated this, the enemy has so much on them it's too much. "I'm sorry Lapis I-"
"Relax" He interrupted. "None of us were expecting this, we'll figure something out we always do."
He nodded. "Listen while we're in the chamber talk to Dende to get in touch with the Supreme Kai, I'm sure Kibito's teleporting can help." He reasoned, hopefully, the Namekien can help he has no idea if he can contact him. "I'm going to start training Iolite now, be careful alright?" He looked at Zangya who seemed a bit upset. "Both of you."
The Hera and Cyborg nodded their heads as he walked away.
As Trunks walked into the building he sees 'Dende'.
'Dende' walked in front of Trunks. "Trunks, about that dragon ball, why not let me hold on to it while you and your daughter train?"
The Half Saiyan reached into his jacket pocket but then realized something. If Baby ever finds this place he'll find the dragon ball. And he would hate to imagine what he'd wish for with them. "Sorry Dende, but I think maybe the dragon ball will be safer with us in the chamber right?"
'Dende' wanted to argue, wanted to lie that the dragon ball can't survive the place but realized that he was right. Oh well, there will be plenty of opportunities to take it sometime else. "Your right, we'll want to keep it out of Baby's hands no matter the cost."
The half Saiyan smiled and walked away.
'Dende' glared at him leaving. 'Sorry Lord Baby, we'll have to wait for your plan after all.'
Lapis glanced at Zangya who looked worried. "Look, don't worry about it alright?"
"How are you so ok with this, if I hadn't messed up with 16 and the scientist you wouldn't have to worry about this."
The Cyborg was surprised at how worried she was, though she has changed a bit during her time here. "16 wasn't your fault, they caught you by surprise, you weren't expecting someone to teleport." He reasoned. "Just trust us Zangya, we always pull through no matter what."
The Hera wasn't put completely at ease, but she did feel a bit better. "Still I think maybe you and your sister should stay out of sight for a while, just in case."
"Surprised you're worried about my sister."
"Only because you care about her." And the little girl Iolite but she won't say that.
The Cyborg felt more at ease at the situation talking to Zangya. He was actually more worried than he's letting on. He'll have to warn Lazuli once he gets a minute. They can't just sit out here and wait for Trunks and Iolite to exit the chamber. They need to do something.
After a few minutes, Trunks brought Iolite to the door of the chamber. He looked down at her she wasn't as excited as she normally would be. He knew why, hopefully, training will allow her to let go of some stress and say what she wants to say. He knows she was trying to suppress her emotions when they told her the truth.
He looked at his wife. "Lazuli before we go, I think you should try to work with Zangya, now isn't the time to hold on to grudges."
Lazuli wanted to argue but of course, she couldn't argue with his logic. He didn't say to forgive her just work with her, he did know how to work with people he had a grudge against. She only nodded and kissed his lips. "Please try not to go overboard."
Trunks nodded and looked down at Iolite. "You're not going to see your mom for a year, so say goodbye for now."
Iolite looked up at her mother and tried to smile and hugged her.
Lazuli could tell that the smile was forced but she accepted the hug. Hopefully, during the year, she will have come to terms with what she's been told.
The half Saiyan patted Iolite's head and opened the door revealing the room.
For the first time in a while, she looked shocked at what she was seeing. The room looked like an enormous void of nothing that stretched on forever.
Trunks despite the situation chuckled, seeing her daughter making this face was refreshing to him. He closed the door and put a hand on her head getting her attention.
"Iolite, I know you're going through a lot right now." He began. "After our training, I promise, you're going to feel a lot better. And whenever you have questions about anything, just ask me and I'll tell you the truth ok?" He meant it, he will no longer lie to her.
Iolite looked away for a moment not knowing what the right thing to say was, so she just nodded. Truthfully she was still confused, she wondered what else were her parents lying to her about? Yes, she saw her mother cry but she's never cried maybe it was fake crying, another lie? Was her mom really brainwashed or was that a lie? Will her father actually tell her the truth of every question? She didn't want to know she wanted to train to finally help her parents fight evil. Maybe the training can help her forget about all this and pretend everything was normal?
Trunks can see that she was hiding what she was feeling. Like mother, like daughter. He hoped that he can have her understand that none of what her mother had done was within her control. It did work for him when he trained with Tarble in this room, it was after a year in here that gave him time, he needed to accept that Lapis and Lazuli were not at fault. Hopefully the same can be done for Iolite.
His greater fear is that how close are the next clones to being done.
Far away in a cave
The Tuffle Z-fighters were sitting around talking amongst each other talking strategies for when it's time to face the Saiyans and their androids.
They talked it was as if they were the actual Z fighters discussing the next threat. It was almost as if the clones thought that they were the originals.
Beep! Beep!
Suddenly a beeping noise was heard. All turned their heads at the source deeper in the cave.
The Cell Replicator, an upgraded version of the machine that created Cell had finished it's next clone. It opened its eyes as the glass lifted. It stepped out for all to see.
'Bulma' had regained consciousness was pleased with what she was seeing. But she knew they had business to attend. She tossed the clone a capsule. "Here, some clothes put them on."
The clone caught it and without a reply did as instructed. It put the blue spandex suit on and armor.
"Oh, I wonder who would be happier to see you, me or G- Lord Baby." The possessed woman giggled. "Now let's go."
Both her and their newest recruit walked towards the others in the cave. She reached them, all but 'Goku' were standing to see their new recruit.
"Look who just finished Lord Baby." 'Bulma' bowed in the direction 'Goku' was standing.
'Goku' was facing away with his hands up. He turned his head and grinned. "Welcome to the team Vegeta."
The clone Vegeta said nothing merely bowing slightly at his master.
Baby smiled maliciously. Ah yes, the son of the man who butchered his people. The ultimate punishment on the grandson. Although. He glanced at Bulma.
She knew what he was going to say. "No worries, my lord, I already prepared our final member. Though he'll take a while to form, we'll need the hyperbolic time chamber back as soon as possible."
"Excellent" He cackled maniacally. "We will have the time chamber back soon, those fools have no idea we have Dende since I sent 16 deep in space. And once I am finished gathering energy, we will be more than enough for the lot of them."
Baby turned back around and kept his focus up. Normally Baby would grow stronger the more hosts he collects, the problem is Earth had less than a third of it's population from almost twenty years ago so the energy he gained wasn't much. He would use instant transmission to go to other planets to get stronger but 'Dende' advised against it in case the Supreme Kai's spot him, so he needed an alternative to grow stronger. The Spirit Bomb such a difficult technique, the time it takes makes it impractical in battle. It was no wonder Goku referred to this as a last resort. He's been gathering energy from the earth, the sun, the rest of the solar system, and beyond. The energy is coming to him slowly. It was remarkably the opposite of his Revenge Death Ball though it can only draw from sentient beings and the Spirit Bomb can only be wielded by those with a pure heart. Though his cause is just he doesn't possess it so he's using the negative energy of every living being instead, a Spirit Bomb with Revenge Death Ball principles.
Baby though in the middle of his current task asked. "How is your project coming along?"
The possessed woman smiled. "I should have it ready in a couple of days Lord Baby."
Baby cackled, good, everything is coming to place much more nicely. The parasite glanced back at the Vegeta clone. He would implant eggs in that body as well as soon as he was finished till then it is a walking corpse.
Now the question he wonders is which body should be used to kill the Saiyan. Vegeta his father or Gohan his teacher?
Sadly Trunks and Iolite aren't the only ones getting a power up.
Poor 16 still out in space. Don't worry he'll be back I promise.
And Baby now has 'Vegeta' on his side.
Hopefully, Trunks and Iolite's training can pay off.
And don't worry I'm not going to make Iolite absurdly strong when their time is done. She'll be stronger but not like SSJ 2 Teen Gohan she is only going to be 6 and isn't a Super Saiyan yet. It's more like to give her the ability to survive a fight with the clones and possibly escape. That being said I haven't fully decided how strong she'll be, how strong do u guys think she would get realistically, she's as strong as Future Trunks was when he started trained with Gohan right now so how would u say one year in the chamber with Trunks would increase her power to?
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed it.
Review Responses.
AxDevilman: Not to mention he has to kill the clones while they are pretending to be the real thing. Ya the clone's body's can influence his decision making, they might work too well.
Unfortanately I didn't have fun getting rid of 16 like that he's been one of my fav characters to write. But had to be done since he can locate them before they can grow stronger. And you have a good way of looking at it, he's kinda getting the main hero treatment. Lol. I can't wait to write him coming back. Ya it's definitley not 16's fault but he was the one who told Bulma that he wanted to be flesh and blood but no one could've
SuperSaiyajin4Vegeta - Ya, they were going to have to have to do it sooner or later. Let's just say it's going to be a long year in the time chamber. Sadly Baby made it sooner now she just has to accept why she was lied to.
I-Love-Trunks 1 - I'm afraid there is no Pan in this timeline, not because I don't like her but because I just don't think it'd make sense to introduce her this late in the story. Maybe I can have a Pan from a different timeline, but not this one. That said I don't think it'd be impossible for her to exist in the future timeline just that it would feel out of nowhere this late in the story, so it's too late for that . Sorry, hope you understand. I'll keep updating don't worry.
Shadowwriter01: Yup. It's basically the best option for her.
So about the negative. I thought about it and ya your right. It was something I got used to in redemption stories about Frieza, Cell etc and I guess I thought it would make sense to put it here. But now that I think about it it's making the Z-fighters seem like a villain group lol. Thx for pointing that out I rewrote the chapter a bit and had Lapis clarify that she wouldn't do that. Lazuli still holds a grudge against Zangya but she knows better than to just kill her since she's an extra defender of the planet.
I checked the sub it looks like Great Ape Baby did pretend to go crazy just to have fun with Goku and to see how much power he had as a great ape. It's not really out of character for him since he did fire shots at earth while his 'people' were under on it and evacuating just to mess with Goku. Though I am going to look more in the sub for the future to avoid the dub errors I grew up with though.
Well guess that's everything. Hope u review and tell me what you think.
Have an awesome day! :)
