CHAPTER 39
NEWLY-FORMED COUPLE
Dianna woke up feeling extremely happy that morning. She woke up right after 9AM, but it definitely would have been earlier, if Jason hadn't 'hung' some 'curtains' made of a bedsheet, with masking tape that she had there, covering the bedroom window and filtering the morning sun. She looked down and Jason's hand was on her stomach, and the other was under her pillow, behind her head, which was actually really comfortable for him, and for her. She felt his breath and slight snore behind and above her, and she needed to pee, but was trying to wait as long as she could. But then she realized that maybe Jason was going to be 'eager' again when he woke up, so it was best if she went to the bathroom now.
She slowly separated from Jason and his hand, but his leg was also over her and she had to slide on her side until she could step on the floor with the other leg. She finally stood up and Jason didn't even stop snoring, he was heavily asleep. She watched him for a couple of seconds, then almost ran, on her toes, to the bathroom. She quietly closed the door and sat on the toilet, peed as fast as she could, then got up to wash her hands and face.
She glanced to the shower and remembered how Jason squeezed her against the shower wall, gasping and moaning in her ear, and she just closed her eyes because she never felt like that before meeting Jason. Not even close. He was seductive, gentle, rough and vulnerable at the same time, and when she was almost reaching her climax he told her, with that husky voice he has, to open her eyes and look at him. And he didn't ask this time, but she gladly said his name when she came, while she moved her hands on his wet hair. She shut her eyes again, but as soon as she could, she opened them, to watch him come, and he said her name too. She felt shivers just from the thought of that.
And after that, they took a shower together, and Jason insisted on 'helping her' wash her hair, and 'helped her' dry her body a bit, sassy as he was, and when they got into the bedroom Dianna thought that he was going to ravage her again, but he got worried about her privacy and the sun and quickly put on a bedsheet in front of the window. Then, when Dianna was feeling extra grateful, Jason just laid on the bed and asked her to lay with him. He had sleepy eyes, but tried to disguised it and said 'I don't want to risk it, let's take it slow', because of her 'injury' that happened almost two days earlier. That made her want him even more, but she just smirked and laid next to him, and she realized she was also really tired, and quickly fell asleep, and Jason probably too.
And with all those thoughts, Dianna brushed her teeth, combed her hair, and walked back to her bedroom. She looked at Jason again, still asleep, and felt an urge to take care of him. And feed him. So she grabbed some clothes nearby, her phone, and did just that.
"Hello, miss, how can I help you?" the tiny blonde secretary, asked Dianna.
"Oh, is Mr. Eller in his office today?"
"Yes, Dr. Eller is" the secretary wrongfully corrected Dianna, but still being friendly, "he's just about to see his next patient of the day, would you like to schedule a session with him?"
"Oh, actually I'm a friend of him and Natalie, Dr. Natalie" she lied, but couldn't remember her last name, "I just need a quick word with him" she walked to his door, and before the secretary even stood up, she opened the door.
"Oh? How can I help you?" Mr. Eller stood up from his chair, probably because he knew his next patient and it wasn't Dianna, but she quickly shut the door behind her as soon as the therapist gestured for the secretary that it was ok. Obviously he didn't see that 'girl' as a threat. But she wasn't in a mood to beat around the bush.
"Hello, Mr. Eller. I'm Dianna" she said, sitting comfortably in the closest chair to his desk. There were a lot of chairs and seats there, all very comfortable.
He didn't seem to know who she was, and kept quiet.
"Dianna Veiler. Jason told you about me" she bluntly said, smiling, and now the therapist recognized the name and the person, and frowned. He put his hands together like all the shrinks do when they think. She waited.
"I hope you're not here to ask personal things about Jason. You know I'm not allowed to talk about that" he said, stern, looking at her up and down.
"Not at all. I'm here to remind you exactly that. You're not allowed to talk about personal things about him, or anyone", she said still smiling.
"O-key…" he looked at her as if she was his next patient. A crazy one.
"Even to your friend Natalie" she added, now smirking.
His face slightly twitched, but he made an offended expression. "I have never told anything about Mr. Hayes to her or anyone else, and I'm offended that you'd even mention that".
Dianna made a gesture like he should shut up and listen. "She had just let it slip to Jason something that he told no one before, not even his friends, or me. Just you". His face twitched again, but Dianna was impatient. She sighed.
"Look, you know that if Jason files a lawsuit against you he'll win. The thing we want to know now, is how much did you tell her? Or if you didn't, how the hell did she find out?"
He shook his head, "I'm telling you, I didn't-"
"Mr. Eller" Dianna interrupted, now standing up in front of him, and using a very calm and dangerous voice, "your reputation is everything. And Jason can prove what she said. All I'm telling you here is that you have a choice to tell me, or a judge, what the fuck happened. If you tell me, I won't say anything else to anyone, because my only interest is to know what kind of things Natalie can use against Jason. That's all", she lied. Obviously she'd tell Jason and he'd decide if he'd want to press charges against his therapist.
He kept quiet, thinking, and Dianna insisted, "They just broke up and she already let Jason know about a personal information that only you know. It's obvious she's not the best friend for you, because she didn't mind dragging your reputation in the mud". She insisted on the reputation thing, because he had dozens of frames of certifications and crap like that with his name on the walls, all calling him 'Doctor", even though he wasn't a psychiatrist. Probably he printed most of those diplomas from the internet.
He sighed, and his expression was an exasperated one. "Natalie is not that close to me. But I think she used me. I didn't say anything to her, ok?" he started, and he stood up too, and came closer to Dianna. "She was here in my office talking to me, I left one day to talk to Lilly for a few minutes. The secretary. And I noticed only like a week later, during Jason's therapy session, that the appointments from the last session were missing" he whispered to her, and Dianna actually believed him. Only that was enough for him to be banned from practicing again, even if just for a period.
"Are you sure she only took the notes from that session?" she asked him, stern.
"I think so. When he came for his session I took notes again, asked him some things and he got annoyed, saying that he told me those things already, and I just told him to move on and forget, things like that, I don't think he noticed".
Dianna sighed. "Look. I don't want to know what he told you during that session, obviously. But was it too long ago? Do you think Jason would remember what it was? I mean, can you look at your appointments from before that and after so maybe he can remember?"
The shrink nodded, now willing to help her and probably mad at Natalie too. He got a pile of notepads he kept inside his first drawer. "Don't you lock your drawer?" Dianna asked, with a disapproving look. Obviously Natalie just had to put her hand inside the drawer and take the notepad, rip out a leaf, and that was it. Like twenty seconds, at most.
"Well, I lock it when I leave the office, and now I lock it when Natalie comes to visit" he answered whispering, but Dianna gave him another look. "Ok, fine I'll keep it locked, now".
He got the pad with notes from Jason's sessions, and leafed through the notes, calculating the weeks. He was alarmed with one special week, but checked his schedule and the calendar, then sighed, relieved. Probably it was a week that Jason was out or a holiday. Then he did that once again, and Dianna crossed her arms, annoyed. "I take it that you never took the time to see if Natalie did that before, right". He looked at her, serious, but didn't answer.
Then he got back to the start, and kept looking at the calendar, and swallowed. He found out something, but he was afraid to tell Dianna.
"Which other day did she take?" she asked, dangerously, and when he didn't answer and kept looking at his schedule and calendar, she asked again. "Tell me now or I'll find out through a court warrant".
"She took two sequential notes. From two sequential sessions. I didn't notice that at the time. They were like the third and fourth session we had".
Dianna was livid, and didn't try to disguise it. "That bitch", and she came closer to the therapist, who now was terrified of her resolve. "If you told her something out if this notes I'll find out too. You know that I'm an interrogator for the Navy, right? One of the best" she cockily said, because he had clearance to know that. He was a therapist that consulted for the Armed Forces, but he obviously couldn't know that she was CIA.
"I swear to you, I never told her anything" he said, then he shook his head, "Even though she really tricked me into believing she would be good for Jason at the time" he admitted, bitterly, obviously because he kept cheering for them during his sessions.
Dianna had a disgusted face, he was a terrible therapist, and naive as hell, but at least not an unethical one. "You're an idiot. Now tell me, if Jason comes here, can you tell him the topic of the sessions prior and after those ones?"
The therapist swallowed, and nodded. "Yes I can. Just bring him here. Please tell him it wasn't my fault. I mean, I was a naive idiot, but let him know I never willingly told her anything". He was desperate, obviously afraid of Jason's revenge. Jason could easily kill Mr. Eller and make it look like an accident, if he wanted to. But Dianna could also do that, actually.
"I'll do my best" Dianna said, leaving him terrified in there. She needed to grab some food and coffee for a frogman.
Jason woke up with a clanging noise, and he felt lost, not knowing where he was, for a couple of seconds. But as soon as he saw the boxes around the bedroom, he remembered the great night he had with Dianna, then he was really glad when he noticed the 'curtain' was still hanging on the window. He woke up relaxed and was sure he slept a lot, because he hadn't had that feeling of a good night of rest for a long time. He stretched and cracked his body, then he heard a knocking noise downstairs, followed by some mumbling, so he walked until he was near the stairs, but then he realized he could almost be seen from the street, because there was a big window right in front of the stairs. A lot of curtain rods needed to be installed, but Jason would joyfully do it.
"Dianna?" he called her from the stairs, while he quickly walked to the bathroom to pee and put on his clothes, and used her toothpaste to 'brush' his teeth with his finger, and used her mouthwash too. The post-drinking breath was always the worst. He thought about wearing the same boxer briefs, just on the inside out, but he had a feeling that if Dianna saw it, she would think that he always did that, so he just put on his jeans, T-shirt and green flannel shirt. She didn't answer his first call, so he called her again, walking down the stairs.
"Hey" Dianna walked in from the back door, carrying a microwave. Jason quickly took it off her hands, confused, placing it where she pointed, at the countertop. "Thanks. Did you sleep ok?" Dianna joyfully asked, coming closer to kiss him.
"Hi. Yes, I slept great" he answered, hunching down for a soft kiss.
But Dianna was quite awake already and she pulled Jason from his shirt, which he loved, and gave him a very eager kiss, messing his hair and leaving him breathless and surprised. And in an even better mood. "Wow, okey" he stuttered, but she walked out and left him there. He didn't know if he was supposed to wait or go after her, but she quickly got back inside, and smiled at him, while she carried a box that said 'glasses + breakable stuff', and placed it over her countertop before Jason could reach her.
"I'm just thanking you for helping me with the microwave. And for hanging the bedsheet on the window", she simply said.
He suddenly felt an urge to install her curtain rods, her shelves, build her a table, and any other thing she'd want him to. "Well, I was thinking about getting my toolbox at my place and install your curtains and stuff" he seductively said.
She took glasses out of the box and placed them on her countertop. "You don't have to do that, I told you, when the moving company guys come they'll do that too", she said, lying through her teeth.
"But are they coming like today? I can help them anyways, so you don't have to pay them extra hours" Jason came closer and leaned on the countertop.
"I called them yesterday, they can come on Thursday or Friday, if I'm here" she said, still focused on taking her glasses and glass bowls out of the box.
Jason crossed his arms. "Nah, I'll do it today then. And is it a lot of furniture that you have?"
She thought for a second, still looking down. "I have my tall wooden cabinet, three side tables, a coffee table, the washing machine, no, that stays there, hum... a couple of boxes with shoes, vases, pans and heavier stuff. I'm missing something" she gestured, with her fingers, then she quickly glanced at Jason. "Oh, my TV". She knew it wasn't much stuff, but her car was small.
Jason stared at her. "So, all you have that is like, big, is a wooden cabinet? Please don't tell me it's that small french thing that you have in your bedroom" he mocked, because he vaguely remembered there was a wooden sort of cabinet there, shorter than him.
"You're not going to carry my stuff, Jason", she muttered, and she stopped taking things out of the box.
"Why not?" he asked, now serious, realizing that probably the wooden cabinet was important for her. "I'd be really careful with your stuff, I promise. And one of the guys would gladly help me with the french wooden thingy".
Jason was really surprised when Dianna sniffed a bit. "Was it your mother's?" he asked, affectionate. "It's really beautiful" he added, but he wasn't lying. He just thought is wasn't that big to justify the need for a moving company.
"No Jason" she looked up, slightly smiling at him, "I bought it when I moved to that place. I just really don't want you to tire yourself, or hurt your back or something like that. Seriously".
Jason came even closer, stern. "I won't. I helped Emma when she moved out, I did my own moving to the apartment, and we always help each other with that stuff between us team guys. Unless it's something really expensive and fragile. We don't touch those anymore" he bitterly added, remembering how ungrateful Davis was with him and Trent during her moving.
"I bet you do" she glanced at him, and grazed a finger near his stitched cut, to check on it. She decided to change the subject, to distract him. "You must be hungry" she stated, "for food" she added, now smirking at him.
"Actually, I am" he said, finally realizing, and then he also noticed that she brought a couple more boxes to the house while he slept. "What time is it? I didn't look at my phone", he said, and he noticed he forgot it in the bedroom, over a closed box.
"It's almost 1PM" she said, checking her phone on the countertop, and Jason was shocked. He slept for almost 11 hours straight. She explained, "I ran some errands, and brought you muffins and coffee, then realized you were still sleeping and the coffee would be cold, so, since I had time, I went to my apartment to get a few other boxes and the microwave, too. And came back here. I texted you to let you know".
"What? You did all that? Why didn't you wake me up?" he asked.
"You were sleeping until now?" she asked, shocked, then she glanced at the island, only now noticing his muffins and coffee were untouched. "I thought you woke up, ate the muffins and were resting for a while".
Jason looked indignant. "I don't 'rest'. I'm not an elder".
"Oh I know" she teased, seductively, making him grin, "but then you must be really hungry. And to be honest, so am I, so come on, let's go have some lunch".
"Sure, I'll just grab my phone upstairs" he said, running up the stairs. He needed to check his hair in the mirror before leaving, too. Dianna probably disheveled it completely, not that he was complaining.
They got inside Jason's favorite steakhouse for lunch, and almost got knocked out by the delicious smell. "Ah" Jason sniffed, happy, "it's been a while" he said, smiling at Dianna. They chose a booth by the window, and quickly ordered their steaks and drinks, and Dianna knew she had to tell Jason about her visit to his therapist. She decided that was a good time.
Jason was faster, though. "Emma and Mikey will be here this weekend again" he said out of nowhere, "Well actually Emma for sure, she has one of her best friend's birthday on Friday. For Mikey it depends on how the hockey games go", he sipped his beer, glancing at Dianna.
She squirmed a little. "Oh. Sure, ok. I'll be busy with arranging my stuff in the house".
Jason looked confused. "Oh, I thought you'd be free until then. I told you, I can help".
Dianna stared at him for a while. "Do you want me to be free for the weekend, or…?"
"Yes. I thought you could have lunch or dinner with us" he casually said, and then he realized that at first she thought he was telling her that he would spend that next weekend alone with his kids. "I mean, I'd like to tell them about us, if it's alright with you. I don't want to pressure you". He was afraid he was taking things a little too fast for Dianna's comfort.
Dianna took a sip of her diet coke, to disguise that she was a little anxious about that. "Are you sure? You don't think it's a little early to tell them? I mean, you just broke up with Natalie, and you told me that Emma likes her. And we're still hiding our relationship from the Navy".
Jason thought for a second, Dianna seemed anxious, but sincere. "Well, yeah. But I think it's weird for me to hide it from them too. I don't know". Then he kept quiet, because when he was with Natalie it took him almost a month to tell Emma about her, and only because she saw them together.
"Well, I already know them, and you know that I like them, so I wouldn't mind joining you guys for lunch or dinner. But I think it'd be weird right now, especially for Emma".
Jason nodded. "Yeah. Maybe. I don't know. But we already know that they like you", he smiled.
Dianna smirked. "Well, why don't you enjoy your weekend with them, and next time they come we'll tell them. We can have a barbecue at my place or something like that" she said, raising an eyebrow. He liked that idea, a lot.
"Ok, then. Maybe if it's sunny this weekend we can go to that camping place", he planned, and Dianna nodded. Their steaks arrived, and they ate, quietly, for a minute, just enjoying the amazing food.
"Were you serious about the steak thing?" Jason asked, curious.
"What steak thing?" Dianna casually asked.
"That we should flip it only one time" he admitted.
Dianna laughed, and Jason tried to justify his terrible methods. "Well, I'm afraid it'd be raw, you know. It looks pale sometimes. So I need to make sure".
"Well" Dianna smiled, after almost choking with her food, "When I grill one I'll show you, ok?" she cockily offered. But she was pretty sure that perhaps she'd be the one grilling their meat in the future.
"Can I take a look inside?" Dianna shyly asked Jason, when they arrived at his place. He was getting his toolbox and change his clothes, to put on 'working clothes', as he said.
He nodded, his apartment was pretty tidy now, and all of Natalie's stuff were inside a box. "Sure, come on in".
They stepped inside and Dianna immediately felt melancholic, and couldn't disguise her disappointment. "It's not that bad" she tried, but couldn't. "It's a bit sad, huh".
Jason chuckled, walking to his bedroom to change his clothes. "It used to be worse, honestly. Now I have bookshelves" he sarcastically said, smiling at Dianna while he took off his shirt and t-shirt. Dianna slowly walked to him, ignoring the closed box near the sofa. She grazed her hands on the bookshelves, pensive, while Jason looked for his 'working clothes' in his closet, shirtless.
"What's your dream man cave?" she suddenly asked, still looking around his apartment. Jason turned to her, curious. "I don't know. I always tried to turn my garage into my man cave, with some old stuff I collect, but the most that I did was to have my old car in there. And all our crap".
"So, you like old cars, vintage stuff, like from what, the 50's, 60's?" she asked, standing close to him and leaning on the bookshelf.
"Yes. I guess so" he said, taking off his jeans.
Dianna couldn't avoid a blush when she saw Jason naked right in front of her. And in broad daylight. She still wasn't used to that sight. Usually when he was naked she knew she'd get to taste him soon.
"Did you change the sheets?" she muttered, coming close to Jason and placing her hand on his chest. Jason still had his jeans dropped on one of his feet.
"U-hum. Yesterday" he quickly said, hoping that her look meant exactly what he thought it meant.
She gave him a lazy smile and started to kiss his chest, humming. "That's good" she murmured, while she traced kisses down his abs.
"Oh dear God" Jason murmured, looking down, when she came back up with her kisses, and started to rub his member, which was fully erect in seconds. And Jason just stood there like a statue, squeezed by Dianna against his own closet, because she was holding his hands down.
When she decided that she kissed and licked him enough, she released his hands and kissed his neck, standing on her toes. "I'd love to sit on you", she murmured against his skin, using the expression that Jason knew very well and loved to use. She took the hand of a very aroused Jason and guided him to his own bed, making him rest his back against the wall behind, while she took off her big sweater, jeans and panties. Jason noticed that she wasn't wearing a bra, and he swallowed, anxious for her to come to him.
She straddled him, cupping his face with her hands, then she frowned her face. "You need a headboard here, Jason" she stated, and he agreed, anxious. "U-hum. You're right".
She smiled and finally lowered on his erection, humming, while Jason pressed his fingers on her hips, gasping. She kissed him, while moving in waves, just like he loved.
He hummed. "I really… really missed you", he said with a husky voice against her lips.
"Your own fault" she seductively said, in between her moves. He looked at her face, confused and shivering.
"You could've had me all this time" she teased. She began to finish her moves harder, making him grunt. She was in a mood to make him suffer, and Jason was definitely suffering, angry with himself. He squeezed her ass and licked her breasts and collarbone, and now Dianna was moving harder, but still slowly, making him shiver every time she moved up and against his body.
"You're evil. You were away at The Farm", he finally said, with a trembling voice.
Dianna hummed again, now smirking. "I had a few days off, every other week" she finished her move, and he grunted. "And you could have stopped by my apartment then, for a quick visit" another move, and he moaned. "Or near the Base. I really love your car" she teased. Jason grunted loudly.
"You're fucking with me, aren't ya?" he dangerously asked.
Dianna didn't answer, and kissed him eagerly, moving a lot faster now.
"And all this time I wanted you" she confessed to his ear, but teasing him, she knew he'd suffer from that, and he did. Jason held her closer, desperate. "I wanted you inside of me" she continued, and Jason now was gasping, out of words, almost reaching his climax, "and I wanted your hands touching me" she finished, and he clumsily took one of his hands to press her clit, hard. Dianna soon felt her orgasm hitting her hard, and contracted all around Jason, both of them coming together and loudly grunting.
Jason held her on his lap while he recovered, breathless and bitterly regretting some of his life decisions.
"You'll kill me, woman" he dramatically said, stern, looking at her.
Dianna just smiled, and kissed his cheek. Mission accomplished.
It was almost 3PM when Jason texted the guys to ask if someone could help him out with the wooden 'thingy', because Jason guaranteed Dianna that the rest of her stuff he could take himself alone. And he took, for Dianna's surprise, while she just held the elevator door open for him, and the glass door downstairs. She tried to help out with a box but he grunted that she wasn't really helping at all, so she just got out of his way. When he was taking the TV downstairs, Clay and Sonny came by to help, even though just one of them was necessary, and Jason quickly texted the group letting them know that they were there, because Trent and Brock offered to go, too.
Sonny and Jason quickly took the cabinet, while Clay took the last heavy box, by himself, like it had pillows in it. But it had a medium-sized cast iron fireplace and some décor. Dianna waited for him to lock the apartment, for good. She didn't even want to be there anymore.
"Beautiful painting. Oil?" Clay suddenly asked Dianna, glancing at a painting inside the open box.
"Yes. Love these ones. My great uncle painted landscapes with that technique, really big frames, but I wanted a few smaller ones in my place too" she proudly said, showing him one inside the box, of a beautiful and colorful landscape with wildflowers.
Clay smirked, and pointed with his chin to the living room floor. "Are you leaving that here?"
"Oh, the rug? Yes. It's old, and now I can afford a new one. If the owner doesn't want it, he can throw it out" she said, not admitting that it reminded her of Will, even though his 'material' wasn't found on it. Clay smirked again, and carried the box to Jason's truck.
"Well, somebody was in that apartment last year, huh, boss" Clay teased Jason, as soon as he put the box on his trunk, and showed him the oil painting, with wildflowers. "There was a beautiful rug upstairs, too" he added, in case Jason didn't understand the tease about the time when Jason told Clay exactly these things as possible gifts for Dianna, half a year ago. But he understood.
"Just once, when Dead Guy broke in" he admitted, but Clay raised an eyebrow, not believing him.
Jason smirked, a bit embarrassed. "What can I say? I'm a detail-oriented person".
As soon as Jason mentioned that he'd install the curtain rods for Dianna, Clay and Sonny immediately offered to help, ignoring when she said she'd help Jason, and everyone drove to her house, and soon Brock and Trent arrived there to help too, and immediately they grabbed the curtain rods that she had already bought and kept in the smaller bedroom. Then Jason decided to go out and buy some wooden shelves to install on her kitchen wall, and Dianna suddenly heard Jason listening to an audio where Ray said he now was available and wanted to go with Jason because Naima wanted some lamps for their house. The guys were meeting there, but Dianna demanded she'd go too, because she'd choose and pay for her own shelves, even thought Jason would install them for her. Jason humbly agreed, and everyone got a bit scared of Dianna and started to treat her as the boss, afraid of installing something crooked or at the wrong height. They mumbled about how bad it went with Davis' moving, and didn't want that day to repeat itself.
Jason and Dianna went to the store to buy shelves, and Ray was already waiting for them at the parking lot. While Dianna was choosing the shelves Jason and Ray joyfully came back with a seller that was saying that the upper cabinets had discount that day, and were ready to take, but she didn't have that much stuff, so she politely declined the offer.
Davis suddenly called Dianna, indignant that she was having a house warming party and didn't invite her, but she said that it was not like that, but she could go there and stay with the guys, if she wanted to. Dianna was finally paying for her shelves and Ray was carrying two lamps for his front porch, when Dianna's phone rang again, and this time Clay was asking where she wanted her sofa to go, because they just delivered it, and if Sonny could debut her grill on the backyard that evening, grilling some burgers for them, 'because they needed to balance the beer'. Dianna pleaded them to just wait for a goddamn second until she got there and leave the sofa in the middle of the living room.
"I'm sorry if they're stressing you out" Jason said when she noticed Dianna was quiet, placing a hand on her knee. They were driving with her shelves to her house, with Ray's truck right in front of them.
"They're not. I love what they're doing", Dianna muttered. "I'm just not used to this", she admitted, avoiding eye contact.
"To what? Having a boyfriend and friends that do things for ya?" he seductively said, squeezing her thigh.
She licked her lips, anxious, and finally looked at him. "To having anyone, at all", she said, with a slight smile.
Jason felt bad for her, all alone in the States for all those years. "You miss your brother and dad, I imagine".
Dianna snorted, looking out the window. "I do. But trust me, if they were here, it wouldn't make much of a difference", she said, acid.
Then she looked again at Jason, now with tears in her eyes. "I miss my mom".
