Brantina: Interference

It was a world meeting, and there was a small debate between the North Africans and the Southern Africans. And by small debate, it really meant that the two sides of the continent were ready to go to war, with the poor Central Africans hiding under the table in the hopes of this conflict being resolved.

As such, no one was paying attention to the Latin Americans, particularly two.

"Are you kidding me?" Argentina demanded. "My boys are better, and you know it."

"As if," Brazil scoffed. "I'll admit that Messi is decent, but the rest are mediocre at best. Now, my players…"

"Don't make me laugh. Or do you want me to remind you of 2014?"

"At least I made it to the finals!"

The others were simply staring at the two nations bickering. They knew that the football rivalry affected them strongly, but they also knew that they enjoyed bickering for the sake of bickering. The other Latin Americans could see the sexual tension from a mile away.

An example would be that, the more they were bickering, the closer their faces were getting to each other. The others waited in anticipation, detecting an approaching kiss…

"That's enough!" Germany shouted, silencing the room.

The Latin Americans groaned as Brazil and Argentina retreated, though they knew full well that they weren't the focus of Germany's ire. The spell had been broken, and the two had returned to normal.

"You've got to be kidding me," Honduras groaned.

"They were so close that time," Costa Rica sighed.

They actually wanted Brazil and Argentina to end up together, especially since that meant that they wouldn't be flirting as much. At least, not the type of flirting that they'd been doing. It was almost painful to watch. And there were quite a few of them that wished to collect their bets.

They knew that they would need to enlist the help of an expert, though. Someone that the two wouldn't suspect.

"You want me to help you?"

Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay had asked Canada to join them for lunch, and had explained the situation to him.

"Si," Ecuador said. "You managed to get forty-one nations interested in you. Now, we just need you to help two specific nations get together."

"…You do realise that I didn't ask for my situation, right?" Canada asked.

"It doesn't matter, you did something right," Peru said.

Canada sighed. It was clear to him that they were desperate, and that they wouldn't' listen to any of his arguments.

"Look, even if I wanted to help – and I feel like it's wrong to interfere with someone else's love-life – I don't know them so well," Canada said. "How do you even know they would like each other like that?"

"Brazil has a preference for women, which already covers that," Mexico said. "He also isn't particularly interested in shrinking violets. And Argentina also likes to be around people who could give her a go, but she's a bit more flexible when it comes to gender."

"That still doesn't…"

"The fact that they often have a smile on their faces whenever they're bickering," Paraguay said. "And the fact that the only ones they really bicker with is each other."

"Then there's also the fact that they keep staring at each other when they think that no one's looking," Uruguay said.

Canada sighed.

"I hope you realise that you're messing with other people's hearts," Canada said. "But, if you really want my help…"

"How did I let you talk me into this?" Argentina asked.

"It's been a long time since you were last on a date," Mexico said, smirking slightly.

"But, a blind date?"

"Exciting, isn't it?"

"…You arranged it with someone that I wouldn't agree to go out with if I knew who it was, didn't you?"

"No, you would have, if you weren't so stubborn. And he doesn't know about this either."

"So… you're setting me up?"

"Si."

"…You know I'll get back at you for this?"

"The fact that you're not doing anything to me now tells me that you don't really care so much that I'm bringing you on a blind date."

Argentina sighed.

"Is this person a human or a nation?" she asked.

"He's a nation, don't worry," Mexico said. "I wouldn't arrange a blind date for you with a human. I'm not suicidal."

Argentina rolled her eyes, before Mexico stopped.

"Here we are," she said.

They were in the park with a blanket and picnic basket arranged. She could see that the other Latin Americans had filled it with traditional light snacks.

…If things turned sour, she knew that it wasn't just Mexico that she needed to punish.

"Wait here, okay?" Mexico asked, smirking.

Argentina glared at Mexico as the other left. She would seriously need to have a little word with her. But she also realised that out of everyone, she was the one that was the least intimidated by her. Argentina would need to be really creative if she wanted to punish Mexico.

"Sofia?"

She turned around and gasped.

"Roberto?" she asked.

Standing there was Brazil, looking confused.

"…Did one of the others bring you along for a blind date?" he asked.

She nodded her head, and Brazil sighed.

"Just for the record, I had nothing to do with this," he said.

Argentina chuckled.

"Maybe we should have told them that we're already dating before they decided to play matchmaker," she said.

I was asked for Brazil/Argentina that takes place during/after The World Meets Canada, with the Latin Americans being tired of the tension between Brazil and Argentina and trying to push them together, even getting Canada to help. The twist at the end was something I decided last-minute.
