Rated MA for language, violence, and sexual content (yes, there will eventually be hot lesbian sex, but also a plot and a story)

This is a lesbian fanfiction people, if you don't like it, don't read.

Disclaimer: If I owned the Teen Titans, I'd be a whole lot richer. As it is, if you sue me, I'll laugh and help you look for money. But in all seriousness, I do not own these characters, DC, Cartoon Network, or any of that jazz.

First time actually posting a fanfiction so please be nice, but I seriously would love feedback!

Chapter 6

Wasting no time when she got home, Raven immediately pressed the button on the Tower's intercom system that would alert her teammates to rush to the living room. Predictably, Robin was the first to burst through the doors. He looked around the room and quickly spotted Raven. Realizing there was no immediate danger, he visibly relaxed while still jogging over to the dark Titan. They were joined shortly after by Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Starfire, who all came racing into the room together.

"Raven, what is it?" Robin asked when he reached her.

The reality of her situation swept over her again in a crushing wave and it was all Raven could do to keep from falling to her knees.

"I'm so sorry," She began. "I should have been honest with you from the start, but I didn't fully understand what had happened until now."

Raven's voice shook at the end. Her teammates looked at each other, worry etched on all of their faces. They were used to Raven's rather vague and/or cryptic statements, but it was the fear in the girl's voice that scared them the most. Before any of them could question Raven's apology, she continued.

"The dream I had the other night, it-it wasn't a dream, it was a vision. And I had another one last night."

Starfire let out a startled squeal and covered her mouth with her hands.

"So, your father, he's coming back?" Cyborg asked hesitantly.

"I'm not sure. "Raven said truthfully.

"What did you see?" Robin pressed.

"The first vision was… strange, unclear. I was truthful when I agreed with you about it being nothing more than a dream. But this one, there was a… man. At least that's all I can think to call him. He certainly wasn't human. He told me that my p-people didn't have much time. That my m-mother…"

Raven's voice broke with a sob.

"This man has your mother and the other citizens of Azarath?" Robin asked softly.

Raven shook her head and swallowed the lump rising in her throat with difficulty.

"I don't believe he is the one that has them. I believe he works for my father and he has somehow taken them to Trigon."

Starfire gave another scared yelp and Beast Boy slumped to the floor. Cyborg looked like he couldn't decide whether to scoop his metaphorical little sister into a hug or blast a hole through the wall. Robin, ever the leader, was trying to stay calm and collected for all of them.

"Raven," He said determinedly, "we're going to save your people. You're family, so your people are our people, which means they are under the protection of the Teen Titans."

Raven managed a grateful smile through her tears. She even managed to feel slightly annoyed with herself at how much crying she'd done the last few days.

"So what's the plan?" Cyborg asked.

Robin looked to Raven, wanting her input before putting his team to work.

"I need to go to Azarath, just to be sure." She said.

"What if that creepy guy is there?!" Beast Boy exclaimed.

Robin nodded his agreement with the shape shifter's concern.

"While the power I sensed from him in my vision was great, I believe I could defend myself against him. My visit will be very brief, I just need to see for myself that my people aren't there. I don't believe this being has the ability to travel to this dimension or he would have done so to give me his warning in person." Raven replied, feeling significantly calmer now that her teammates were behind her and putting a plan in motion.

Robin debated this thoughtfully. He more than trusted Raven's judgment, but nothing could stop him from worrying about her regardless.

"I just don't like that we'll have no way of communicating with you or even being able to do anything if something does happen to you." He said, his frustration, Raven knew, was directed at the situation, not at her.

Raven took a deep breath, preparing for her friends' reaction to her next words.

"There's something else I need to tell you."

Robin raised an eyebrow and the others looked at her expectantly.

"It's Jinx…"

Before she could continue, Cyborg spoke angrily.

"That thieving bitch has something to do with this!?"

A surge of anger coursed through Raven at the word 'bitch.' She quickly shook the feeling and replied nervously.

"No, I mean, yes, she's involved, but it's… complicated."

"Raven, what aren't you telling us?" Robin asked sternly.

"Look, I don't know why she's involved, but whatever happened during our fight, it caused some sort of…connection. She caught glimpses of my first vision and then, last night, she was having my vision with me."

"Dude! She's like, in your head?! We all know what a bad thing that is!" Beast Boy cried.

"Raven, this is dangerous. Who knows what she could do with this connection? She-"

"I know!" Raven interrupted Robin. "Believe me, I know."

Robin frowned.

"I'm sorry. Of course you know." He apologized.

"How must we break this connection?" Starfire finally spoke up.

"I… I don't' know how and I, um, I don't think we should. At least, I don't think we need to." Raven replied hesitantly.

"Ok, now I'm officially lost." Cyborg was shaking his head in disbelief.

"Again, I'm sorry, I should have told you. But… I spoke with Jinx. She doesn't understand what happened but for some reason, she wants to help." Raven was again cut off by the green Titan.

"You believe her?! Hello-oo!? Bad guy, remember?"

Raven was surprised when Robin shot Beast Boy a glare before she could.

"We all know how difficult it is to lie to Raven, especially after how much her empathic powers have evolved." He turned to his purple haired friend but continued to speak to the rest of the group. "If Jinx said she wants to help and Raven believes her, that's good enough for me."

Beast Boy looked to Cyborg and Starfire, his mouth open to protest and ask for their support, but he knew Robin was right. He closed his mouth and frowned, but nodded his agreement.

"I don't blame you for not wanting her involved, "Raven assured her teammates, "but I believe the connection we now share may help me to communicate with her from Azarath."

Raven hadn't admitted this to the pink haired sorceress, but she had wanted to make sure she had her friends' support before involving Jinx further. Robin was nodding again slowly.

"I assume you want to go to Azarath as soon as possible?" He asked.

Raven's firm nod gave no room for argument.

"And I also assume you have a way to get in touch with Jinx?"

Raven pulled Jinx's communicator from her pocket. Robin eyed it warily but sounded sure in his command.

"Tell her to come to the Tower. I want you to try and see if you can communicate somehow and I want her here while you're gone."

Raven's relief at her friends' acceptance and support of her decision threatened to bring her to tears again. Instead, she called Jinx, who immediately agreed to come to the Tower as quickly as she could.

"Ok, the rest of us need to prepare for what's to come." Robin announced. " Raven, I know how hard it is for you to let people know about your father and your past, but we need to know more than we did last time if we're even going to stand a chance against Trigon and his servant."

Raven bit her bottom lip hesitantly. She knew Robin was absolutely right, of course, but despite the years of assurance from her friends, she could never sway her fear that they would reject her if they truly understood what she was and where she came from.

"Rae, we're with you, no matter what." Cyborg said softly, resting a large bionic hand on her shoulder.

"Yes, true, friend Raven! It matters not who or where you come from, for you are our sister!" Starfire's barely contained enthusiasm broke free and she wrapped Raven in a bone crushing hug.

Though the fear still loomed in the back of her mind, Raven, once released from the Tamaranean's grip, nodded and used her powers to summon her collection of books that referenced Azarath, the original prophecy of her birthright, and all that was known of her father.

"Aw man, now there's homework?" Whined Beast Boy.

He was answered with a swift elbow to the ribs by Cyborg. The green boy smiled apologetically at Raven who rolled her eyes, not unkindly.

Robin had started delegating books to the team when Raven's borrowed communicator started buzzing in her hand. She flipped it open to see Jinx looking rather uncomfortable in what appeared to be the underwater tunnel that led to the garage of Titan's Tower.

"Hey, I'm uh, I'm at the door." Jinx said, shifting anxiously.

"Whoa, how'd she know where the tunnel is?!" Cyborg interrupted.

A hint of Jinx's familiar smirk crossed her face though Cyborg couldn't see the com screen.

"We did take over the Tower from you guys before." She reminded him.

Both Cyborg and Robin huffed at the memory and Raven had to bite her lip to keep from laughing.

"I'll come let you in." She said, before closing the com and teleporting to the garage.

Jinx was still fidgeting uncomfortably when Raven opened the door, but she did smile at the Titan.

"So your friends are cool with this?" She asked, following Raven through the garage and into the elevator.

"I'm not sure if 'cool with it' would be the right words." Raven replied, "But they understand the seriousness of the situation and the necessity of you being here. And-"

Raven hesitated, turning to face Jinx before they reached the main floor of the Tower. Jinx raised an eyebrow curiously.

"And they know that I want you here" Raven finished, her cheeks reddening slightly.

She turned away as the elevator doors opened, missing the grin that spread across Jinx's face at her words.

The team was spread out around the living room, each with two or three books open in front of them. Their conversations stopped abruptly when the pink-haired sorceress stepped out of the elevator and next to Raven.

Robin rose from the couch and walked forward.

"Jinx." He greeted with a nod.

Deciding her trademark sarcastic response probably wasn't the best approach given the circumstances, Jinx simply nodded back. Robin looked like he wanted to say more, most likely give a warning about what he would do if Jinx broke Raven's trust at any time. But with a look from Raven, he knew a warning wasn't necessary.

"I assume you know Raven intends to travel to Azarath to confirm her vision?" Robin asked Jinx.

"Yes, and she said I should be here while she does, though I'm not entirely sure why." Jinx replied, looking at Raven.

"The connection we share, I believe it may be strong enough to allow us to communicate while I am gone. At the very least I believe we will at least be able to detect if the other is ok or not." Raven explained.

"I want you two to spend some time figuring it out before Raven leaves. We don't know who or what could be waiting for her and I'll feel more comfortable when we have at least some way to keep track of her." Robin said, hoping Jinx appreciated how important Raven's safety was to all of them.

He was actually a little surprised when Jinx replied without a hint of sarcasm or smugness.

"I don't want anything to happen to Raven either."

Raven appreciated their concern but was a little irritated by the way they were talking about her like she wasn't there.

"I'll be fine." She said.

"Well, let us worry about you anyway." Cyborg said, grinning at Raven from across the room.

Raven relaxed and smiled back before turning to Jinx.

"I think the best chance we have at communicating is through meditation, follow me." She motioned for Jinx to accompany her down the hall towards her bedroom.

When they entered, Jinx looked around Raven's room with interest. She had been there only once before and only vaguely remembered that it had seemed depressing and creepy. Now that she was actually getting to know the girl, she observed the room with a new appreciation for how it fit Raven's personality. There were several large book cases crammed full with books of every genre and subject imaginable. The closet door was open and Jinx could see several blue cloaks and black leotards hung up along with quite a few black t-shirts, tank-tops, and jeans. The walls were decorated with pictures of the Titans and various paintings.

Jinx wandered over to one of the paintings. It showed a small figure standing on the top of a building, both silhouetted against a full moon. The figure had long hair and her skin was covered with red symbols that appeared to be glowing. Jinx found herself reaching out to brush the canvas with her fingertips.

"That was just before my 16th birthday." Raven said quietly from behind Jinx, causing the sorceress to jump in surprise.

"You painted this?" Jinx gasped in awe.

Raven bit her bottom lip shyly and nodded. "I painted all of them." She said, waving towards the rest of the art on her walls.

"They're beautiful." Jinx commented almost reverently.

There was certainly no way for Raven to hide her blush this time.

"I… Thank you." She stammered.

Jinx cocked her head slightly and grinned. It was several moments before both girls realized they'd simply been staring at each other. Raven cleared her throat awkwardly and Jinx quickly continued looking around the room. The only other furniture in the room was a small, black vanity, a meticulously organized desk, and a large, round bed. Raven felt another blush warming her cheeks when Jinx's eyes fell on her bed. Not willing to even speculate what her reaction might mean, Raven cleared her throat again, drawing Jinx's attention back to her.

"So you think maybe I'll be able to sense you or something while you're in Azarath?" Jinx asked.

"I'm not positive, but I think the dream we shared means we have a pretty deep mental connection. If we can find the root of that connection, we may be able to control it to an extent, especially if one, or both of us are in a dream-like state." Raven replied, pacing back and forth while she voiced her thoughts.

"Um, in English?"

Raven looked and Jinx's puzzled expression and laughed softly.

"Sorry, I think if one or both of us is meditating, we may be able to communicate through thought or at least sense the other." She explained.

"Got it." Jinx nodded. "But I'll be honest with ya, never meditated before."

"I have a feeling you'll be a fast learner." Raven replied confidently.

"I have a feeling you'll be a great teacher." Jinx teased suggestively with a wink.

Her face now the brightest red it had ever been, Raven turned away quickly and cringed internally when she headed for the only suitable sitting space, her bed. Resisting the urge to make another suggestive comment, Jinx simply followed with a large grin on her face.

"The idea of meditation is simple enough: to manipulate your thoughts, emotions, and body into a completely calm state. The most difficult part is going to be identifying our connection and making it useful to us." Raven began, sitting cross-legged on her bed before levitating several feet into the air.

Jinx sat on the bed across from Raven and mimicked her pose. Raven held her hands out to Jinx, but before Jinx had moved to meet her, Raven pulled back quickly.

"Jinx…" She said quietly.

Jinx looked up at Raven and hoped the empath knew she was taking this seriously.

"My mind can be a very dangerous place to enter, even more so to be connected to it." She paused again, lowering herself back on to the bed.

Jinx placed her hand on Raven's knee, pouring as much reassurance as she could into such a small gesture. Raven looked back up at her and with a start, Jinx realized Raven was afraid for her.

"Just promise me you'll take care of yourself first. If you start to fall too deep into the connection, into my mind, pull yourself back out however you need to."

"Raven, I don't want to hurt you-"

"You might have to. I'm sure I'll be ok. This is more familiar territory for me than it is for you. But even so, I want you to do what you need to without worrying about what will happen to me.?

"But-"

"Please, promise me, Jinx?" Raven's pleading violet eyes bore into Jinx's conflicted pink ones.

"I promise." Jinx finally whispered.

Raven nodded once before holding her hands back out to Jinx, opting to remain grounded this time. Jinx placed her hands slowly in Raven's. The still unfamiliar static hum that they now realized was the other's presence, grew stronger.

"Usually I would advise you to choose your own phrase or mantra to repeat out loud or in your head, but since we're doing this for the purpose of using the connection, it might be best if we repeat the same." Raven said.

"Ready when you are." Jinx replied nervously.

Raven nodded once again before closing her eyes and taking several deep, steadying breaths.

"Azarath… Metrion… Zynthos…" She began chanting rhythmically.
