#7- Shattered Glass (but not really)
(In which Tenko became a hero instead)
"Huh?!" Tenko Shimura's eyes widened as he watched his beloved dog, Mon, crumble to ashes. Right as Hana came out from the house.
"Tenko, what's wrong?" She asked, running toward him. However, she suddenly stopped a few feet away. Tenko reached out for her, but she jumped back. "I'm sorry about the hero thing. I knew it should've been a secret."
"I don't care," Tenko replied. "But something happened. Something that just killed Mon."
"Yeah," Hana replied, realisation splitting her face with a grin. "I think your quirk manifested."
"Really now?" Asked the boy. "My quirk just killed Mon?"
"Unfortunately," Hana grimaced. "Look on the bright side- now we know you have it."
"Yeah, but I seem to be able to control it," Tenko started to smile, however. And so he held out his arms to embrace his sister, but she didn't approach. When his smile faltered, she replied, "Still, I'm not taking any chances. But it's awesome."
"What do we do about Mon, though?"
"Tell the truth?"
"Well, better than lying."
Presently, their parents rushed outside to see what the ruckus was. When they laid eyes on the boy, and the quite gory remains of the dog, they instantly surmised that his quirk had manifested. And once the matter was cleared, they sent Tenko and Hana to their rooms for the night. Tomorrow they'd see the doctor for an analysis.
Presently, a voice pulled Tenko back to reality- which at present, was the ongoing battle against Overhaul. Beside Tenko was a green-haired boy, who was currently smashing spikes to bits. Apparently, he had called for him-
"Mr Breakdown! Are you alright?"
"All good, thanks, Deku. But you might wanna stand back."
"What for?"
"I'm about to release a wave of.. Mass Destruction!"
Tenko slammed his hands onto the ground, and a wave of energy sped toward Overhaul. Overhaul's eyebrows shot up in alarm, but it was too late- the spikes had all been destroyed. This opportunity opened, Tenko rushed toward Overhaul and slammed his knee into the yakuza's face. Once satisfied that Overhaul was stunned, he backflipped over the yakuza and shoved him to the ground. "Yah!"
Overhaul tried to splat Tenko, but Tenko merely decayed the skin on that hand. Pure reflex, but it worked. Overhaul screamed in pain.
"Shut up. I've had worse."
"You sick, diseased b*stard!" screamed
Overhaul, following up with some obscene threats and phrases that not even Tenko's NEET gamer @$$ cared to repeat, prominently featuring death.
"Shut up, I said." When Overhaul did not shut up, Tenko sighed, "Dude, I'm a gamer and not even I say that sh*t."
"You suck!" Overhaul replied. It became clear that this guy was as much of a man-child as him, and that was saying something.
"Don't care," replied Tenko matter-of-factly.
It took 10 minutes to get him to be quiet. But when all was said and done, Tenko let out a long sigh.
"Everything alright, sir?" asked Deku.
"Might wanna get a new line of work," replied Tenko. To which the two laughed. Because even if they were entirely different types of people, they could still be friends.
Tomura Shigaraki bolted upright in his bed, sweating. "WHAT THE HELL?!"
Around him, his fellow league members stirred.
"What's wrong, Shigaraki?" Asked Spinner.
"I just had the weirdest dream," replied Shigaraki. "Dreamed I was a hero, of all the stupid things."
"It's just a dream," replied Spinner. "No need to get worked up about it."
But sometimes, when he's having an existential crisis, Shigaraki wonders if it was a dream. Don't you?
Again, sorry i was late! next story on the next page!
