Daniel, Cream and Tails: Musical Maestros

(Author's Notes: Hey everyone! How are you all doing? I hope all of you are doing well. I am currently fighting some allergies that are making me quite drowsy and sleepy more than usual, so wish me luck in conquering this form of allergy.
Before I do or say anything else, I wish to give praise and glory to the Lord. Thank you God for helping me and family on our vacation this Spring Break, and also for being there for me through everything. Thank you for guiding me through thick and thin, and thank you Jesus Christ for the gift of imagination and writing that I hope to utilize well in your honor. Continue to guide and defend me and my friends & family Lord, and those out there that need you the most.
I thank you all who have read and reviewed this special here. I am a bit disappointed that I am receiving less reviews in some of my other works, but I hope that it will change in the future. I have also heard about the Nashville Shooting Incident, and my prayers go out to the families who lost their loved ones. But what is more disturbing to hear is on how some people are making fun of it, mocking it and also debasing/debunking the power of prayer. And more disturbing is on how some people are trying to justify the actions of the shooter, even going far as to name her a martyr.
Not much else to say here except for this. I want to inform you all what I have put down in my previous stories. And it is this- I will NEVER write anything that is linked to the WOKE/New Normal movement that is going on through the country. I do not believe in anything that comes from the groups that make up that movement, so none of my works will have anything that supports/condones/defends/practices the groups that come from the movement.
So no slash, femme-slash or trans characters or actions in any of my works! This I am DEAD serious on, as shown in my Profile here at this site.
Also, I will not conform to the many reboots/remakes that have been pumping out as of late. And sad to say… in those reboots/remakes, many characters from my childhood that were cool and good have been changed to something that I do not recognize nor like anymore. So will stick to the cartoons, TV series and movies of the past. The original and real-deal ones that are better than any of the reboots/remakes that follow the WOKE & New Normal movement.
I wish to do this for my Tia Pamela Espurova-Allen. She is working with police and other official groups to locate and bring home a missing girl that is part of a family she works with & has befriended. Her name is Lina Khil, a little girl that was taken on December 20th, 2021. The search is still on for her, but so far… no luck.
Her information is this: She was three years old when she was taken, hair brown, eyes brown, race Afghan, weight 55 lbs. & height 4'0. If any can help to locate and find her, please do so and notify the proper authorities. Hoping and praying still that she is found alive & returned to her family. They have put up a special about her on TV thanks to the San Antonio Police Department. Any information you wish to seek about her you can search for online, and hopefully it will help to find her and bring her back home safely.
I do not own the plot, my new Author friend does. Neither of us own Sonic X, as it is a television animated series that was created in Japan. It was directed by Haijime Kamegaki, produced by Takeshi Sasamura & Tadahito Matsumoto. The original network is was broadcasted from is TV Tokyo in Japan, and in the United States by many other networks such as Disney Channel, Jetix, Fox, 4Kids TV and more. It ran from April 2003 to April 2005.
Also, will be utilizing a level or so from the video game Sonic Forces even though I have never played the game itself.
Now, on with the story!)
The time is 3:30 p.m., and the current location was the Mystic Jungle zone & deep within it the Casino Forest area. In one of the ruins within the zone, an unusual meeting was being held between Rouge the Bat, Shadow the Hedgehog & the Clark couple. After some private discussion with one another, the anthros had decided a course of action concerning the humans who had come to Mobius.
Rouge looked to the couple and stated, "Well Mr. & Mrs. Clark, it seems that me and Shadow have decided on what to do with you two.".
Mrs. Torli Clark looked perplexed and inquired, "What do you mean? Will you not help us get to our son?".
Shadow answered in his usual stern, neutral tone, "Not exactly. You want our help, you must prove to us that you are serious in wanting to get back to your son. You're going to undergo some tests, right here in this very zone.".
This stunned/shocked the two adults, Mathias speaking in a tone that matched his current emotions, "What?! Shadow, Rouge, please! We really need to go and search for our little Danny!". In his tone was desperation as he truly wanted to find his and Torli's miracle that had bought joy to their lives despite the work that was demanded of them.
Rouge shook her head and answered, "Not that simple, big boy. You and your wife are landed in one of the most dangerous parts of Mobius. Well… dangerous of the natural variety. The only place that is really dangerous is the territory held by Eggman, and that is all artificial.".
The black doppelgänger of Sonic pressed on, "Indeed, and as for the moment… the only safe way out of this place is through us, and we are not completely convinced of your actions and motives. So you want us to help you, you are going to have to endure our tests.".
This change of situation really stunned the couple even more. Both knew that Shadow was right; they had no clue of the layout of the land, of the predators that might be lurking outside of the ruins… or even of the ruins themselves if it had traps like they had seen in the various Indiana Jones movies they had seen back on Earth!
So they truly had no choice in the matter. If they wanted to go and search for their son, they HAD to comply with the anthros wishes.
Mathias spoke in a tone that was of hesitation with a dash of defeat in it, "Sigh… What do you want us to do Shadow, Rouge?".
The anti-hero & anti-heroine smirked as they saw the human realize that they had no choice but to comply with them. The buxom bat beauty stated in a teasing tone, "Oh, don't be so down Mr. Clark. After all, this is to prove that you and your wife really want to find your little boy.". Both husband and wife did not approve of the flirting tone as it showed up in their facial expressions.
Shadow officially answered the question he posed though, "In an hour, the two of you are going to go into the jungle and head towards one of the main temples that are still standing. The one you are looking for is the flashiest one in the entire area & the largest.". To Shadow, it still amazed him to a small degree on how the neon lights and such were still active on the palace structures even after Robotnik had abandoned the area some time ago.
So while some of the jungle was dangerous and deadly at dark… the large ancient palace structures lit up brightly in the night on a timer that the human doctor had installed, and were still running on automatic timers.
Torli inquired in a curious/concerned tone, "And… what are our objectives when we get there?".
Rouge answered her with same smirk still on her face, "When you get there, you will find for us ten herbs that look like this.". She reached from behind her back and pulled out a flower, the stem about the length of twelve inches & the flower itself dark blue with a red pollen center in it. At first view, it looked like a chamomile flower just colored differently.
The two humans looked at the specimen curiously with Mathias inquiring, "What is that?".
The alluring professional thief bat answered, "It's called the Mobian Dark Fire Flower, a very potent healing herb that only grows here. Not only can it heal, but it also can be used to spice up a meal when ground up.".
Rouge was not fibbing at all. The Mobian Dark Fire Flower was a potent plant with many kind of applications both in the realm of medicine and food, but it was also quite difficult to acquire and raise as the plant needed SPECIFIC conditions in order to prosper. Many a botanist had tried to raise some on their own, only three succeeding. But the ones that did manage to raise their own charged an extraordinary amount of rings to even have one of their precious plants.
Shadow added in, "Find ten of these herbs and come back to us. You will have until sundown to locate these flowers and bring them to us.".
Let this be known to all. While Rouge and Shadow were as tough as they come, they were not invincible. They often got hurt on their trips within the jungle such as hunting for food, or getting scratched by the thorns that littered the place. The Mystic Jungle was truly no joke, and only the very experienced had a chance of getting through it. The flowers were a good source of healing, and also to add some flare to the food that was brought in.
Now, Rouge truly preferred to live in a civilized area that had housing and real food & drink. Unfortunately… a heist had gone wrong as a gemstone she had tried to steal a month ago broke when she was fleeing the police, the precious item slipping from her hands and breaking upon impact on the ground. The worst part of it was that it was considered to be quite a sacred relic to the inhabitants of the city, so they took its destruction very hard.
The anthro bat was chased all over relentlessly, and even with her flying & martial arts abilities, she got quite close to being captured. And it seemed that the police and citizens were very much willing to take a piece of her hide as compensation for the destruction of their beloved artifact!
Rouge had to flee the city fast, going into the Mystic Jungle and staying there for a while until the heat died down. That is where she met Shadow, who was using the ruin they were currently in as a base. He preferred to be alone, so this was the perfect place for him. When Rouge appeared, he offered her sanctuary until she was ready to go off again.
Needless to say, Rouge accepted the offer and been there ever since. Now while Rouge could have gone out for some time, she started to prefer being more with Shadow as the two slowly but surely started to form a friendship. It was still delicate at best, but the duo started to get to know one another a bit more deeply.
Rouge flew down to the couple from the rise she and Shadow had been standing on that loomed over the humans, landing before them and saying, "Okay you two, follow me and I'll show you where you will be staying at. Also, there is a map of the place near your room so I suggest that you go and look it up. And one last thing, sundown here is at 6:45 p.m., and I recommend you find the flowers… because some truly nasty animals come out at night.".
Mathias and Torli looked at one another before following Rouge, realizing that they were going to be tested harshly… but for their son, they would endure any kind of test in order to find him!
~At the village~
At the village that the Rabbit family lived at, Amy and Tails were hard at work talking to the villagers there. Friends, neighbors, acquaintances and more were being talked to by the duo in an effort to keep Vanilla Rabbit busy while they worked on the special present for her. The duo had to carefully omit the information concerning Danny, as that might cause some trouble since the anthro citizens were not too keen on humans thanks to Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
Thankfully for them, a majority of the villagers stated that they would be glad to be of service to them. Vanilla was truly a kind, gentle and beautiful soul who had aided them in the past when they needed help. So they would do what it took to keep her distracted while Tails would get the band all set.
Their last talk was with the mayor of the village, a tall anthro wolf that went by the name Zen Hisashi. He was of black fur with white markings, tall as Dr. Robotnik himself but thin and wiry. But while he looked wiry, there was much strength in his form, the muscles tightened like coiled springs that would swiftly spring forth with powerful & surprising speed and strength. He was also one that lived by honor and dignity, his actions as a leader most welcome during the troubled times that either involved robotic troublemakers or natural disasters.
If he was on Earth, most would put him in line with the Japanese tales of old, and painted him like a samurai warrior.
Amy and Tails exited the humble but still official compound of the mayor, breathing sighs of relief as Zen had agreed to come in on the plan to keep Vanilla occupied in the coming days. The pink hedgehog beauty said to Tails with relief in her tone, "And that is that! With the mayor onboard, I'm sure that we will have the help needed to keep Vanilla distracted for the next two weeks until her 35th birthday!".
Her two-tailed companion replied with relief in his tone as well, "That's good! Now, all we can do is practice and do what we can! Although…". The last part he said had the tone of concern that got Amy's attention.
She looked to her friend and inquired, "Although what? What is it?".
Tails looked around as they walked back towards the Rabbit residence, then whispered to his pink hedgehog friend, "Although I am a bit concerned on how to show Danny. You know that most of the population on the planet are wary of humans.".
Amy saw that he had a point. Most Mobians were very wary of humans all because of the lone, single human on the planet which was Dr. Ivo Robotnik. Seeing any humans would set them on edge, and she believed that poor Danny would be subjected to violence or discrimination due to him being human. She was now concerned… but it was soon replaced by a protective instinct as her eyes had a fiery look in them.
She whispered back but with steely conviction and heat, "They try anything against that little sweetie, I'll use my hammer to knock them into orbit!".
Tails was amazed to hear this from Amy, but it was of the positive kind. And also he believed her very much, as her strength was widely known… and how she was able to utilize the heavy Piko-Piko Hammer was legendary, as not even Knuckles or Vector could use it! Oh, they could lift it up yes… but actually wielding it properly, that was another story altogether.
He whispered back to her, "Me and Cream will protect him too, and I believe Cosmo as well. But until we figure out something so that he is introduced on our terms, we need to keep his identity and such on the down-low.". Miss Rose nodded her head, the two resuming their trek to the house.
When they arrived there, they opened the door and saw something that surprised them yet also smile big time.
Cream, Cheese, Danny and Froggy were spinning around the room in the air! The young ones were laughing, Froggy ribbiting in delight. Big was on the sidelines, watching as he laughed lightly & clapped his hands together. In the middle of the room was Cosmo, whose hands were glowing a light sea-green color with a brilliant smile on her face.
It seemed that she was utilizing a basic form of psychic power which was levitation via the mind. She was like a planet, with Danny and the others being moons that orbited around her. They were having a blast, enjoying being spun around at a decent, safe speed while being held in mid-air. Cream and Cheese used their special abilities of flying and floating, but it was a different experience to be in the air under another's power.
Tails and Amy were very much amused by the situation, watching it for some time before he closed the door. The noise of said object as it shut got Cosmo to turn to them, getting distracted and releasing her hold on the young ones. Cream managed to swoop down and get Froggy, delivering him to the hands of Big who was glad to see his amphibious friend not harmed & grateful to the blue Chao.
Cream quickly utilized her flying ability, then swooped down swiftly to catch Danny before he hit the wooden floor! The young human was surprised by the sudden stop, then the drop & finally by the quick rescue. But he looked to his new friend, smiling as the energy was still coursing through him and exclaimed, "Yay! Let's do that again!".
Amy giggled softly as she saw the young long-eared rabbit landed safely on the ground, setting down Danny who looked to her and rushed over to hug the beautiful anthro hedgehog. The pink beauty bent down and accepted the hug, glad to see that Danny and Cream were okay. She looked at the young human and quipped, "I'd ask if you were okay, but it seems that you really enjoyed the ride.".
The two-tailed fox went to Cosmo, his face still showing great surprise as he inquired, "Cosmo, is this a new power of yours? I seem to recall that you weren't able to do anything like that!".
The alien humanoid hybrid blushed a bit in embarrassment, "Yeah, I just discovered it while you were gone. You see, Froggy leapt off of Big to get some of the fruit snacks left. He misjudged it and was about to fall on the floor. I reacted and reached out to get him even though I was a bit away, and… well… it sort of happened. And when it did, got lost in the feeling and… well, you and Amy saw it.".
Indeed, this was very much new for Cosmo. Her race had extraordinary gifts bestowed upon them, some manifesting early & some later on. But there was nothing in her people's history about any of them producing psychic powers like what she just demonstrated. Then again, none of her people had ever had to endure what she had to go through. And going through a second sprout phase, combined with being home on an alien world like Mobius, it seemed that something occurred that many would deem impossible by her race standards.
As far as Cosmo knew, she was the ONLY one that could exhibit psychic powers!
Tails pondered it for a moment, then stated with some excitement in his voice, "This is great! I bet your power would come in handy in pinches! I wonder what else you could do…".
The female humanoid plant answered with some wonder in her tone, "I wonder as well. I mean, none of my people exhibited psychic powers like this. And since I had a second sprouting on your world like this, only makes me wonder what else I can do in the future.". This was true, as perhaps her second coming back to life like so had opened up possibilities that were truly amazing.
Big walked over to them and asked a question, "Duh… maybe you can play things in midair with your power?". The immense purple cat had recalled seeing a cartoon back on Earth that showed a ghost using his power to levitate some musical instruments up, then playing them without even touching them. For him, it was something fascinating to see.
Cosmo looked to her new large friend, then to Tails and the others. She asked in a slightly anxious tone, "Do… Do you think I can do that?".
The group looked to each other, than all eyes turned to Tails. The young two-tailed fox thought on it for a moment, then smiled and answered, "Only one way to find out. Go for it! But just to be safe, try your new guitar first.".
The alien young lady was hesitant as she turned to see her electric instrument that she created out of thin air some moments ago. But the hesitation was only for a moment, as she felt confidence flow into her mind. She said to herself, 'I did levitate Danny and the others… I believe I can do this!'.
Cosmo looked to her instrument, focused and felt the power she utilized earlier. To her, it felt like a river running through her entire systems, a foreign yet pleasant sensation filling every vein & pore in her being. Her eyes glowed blue, a faint/transparent blue energy field blossoming from her body to cover her!
She stretched her left hand out to her guitar, which was soon enveloped in the same color energy field. It vibrated slightly… then levitated into the air! It rose above the ground, rising slowly but steadily until it was about four feet off solid floor! Tails and the others were watching in fascination, in awe at the sight before them.
Cosmo lifted her right arm, and made subtle movement. And to everyone's amazement… the strings on the guitar vibrated and made a sound! And more amazing, it was good! Normally, when one plays an electric guitar without plugging it in, it would make a sound but it would not be good & not make suitable sound. But it seemed that the psychic energy that Cosmo was utilizing WAS its power source!
The young lady love of Tails was amazed that she had done the action, and started to make more subtle hand motions with her right hand. She was experimenting at the moment, noticing that certain gestures made the guitar strings move and vibrate at different pitches and paces. It was basic at first, but it was still incredible to her & her captive audience.
Amy called out in amazement, "Oh wow! That was so awesome! Cosmo, you know your stuff!".
Said plant girl blushed bashfully, not breaking her concentration on her target. She spoke in a tone that sounded like an otherworldly echo, "Thank you Amy. I… whoa!".
The surprise on hearing her own voice like that made her lose focus, the aura field from her body & the instrument vanishing. The electric guitar fell down, but thankfully Cheese was fast as he flew down to catch it before it hit the floor! None of them knew if the object was durable to withstand a fall like so, but for the time being since all of this was new, they did not want to find out.
Cream and Danny cheered for the little Chao when he clutched the guitar, holding it high like a trophy for a moment before gently setting it back down on the ground. When he did so, all looked to Cosmo who was still weirded out by the voice she put forth just moments ago.
Cosmo spoke in her normal tone, but it held surprise in it, "Whoa… what just happened? My voice, it… it sounded like an echo but powerful.".
Tails quickly suggested a theory, "I believe that it was due to your new psychic powers. Apparently, it can do more than levitate objects. I believe that when you use it and speak, it amplifies your voice like so.".
Danny added in with positive energy in his tone, "Yeah! I bet you would be a hit at haunted houses since you sounded like a strong ghost!". Apparently despite his age, the young human liked haunted houses and things that were spooky as long as it did not go too far.
Again, this made Cosmo wonder on how many new things would come to light about herself & her newfound psychic powers. Tails saw the look of hesitation and wonder on the face of his lady love, going on automatic instincts to go to her & assure her that everything would be okay. And also that he and the others would explore her newfound abilities together, and help her out if it came to needing it.
She smiled, nodding her head as she trusted her friend and love interest. Cream then called out, "Since my Mom will be back soon, how about we clean up the house? And after that, we can relax in the fields in the backyard?".
Seeing that the house was in a bit of a state after their little snack break, and also their practicing, the others saw the wisdom in Cream's suggestion. Tails replied, "Good idea Cream! Let's get started!".
He asked Amy if she, Cream and Cosmo would clean up the kitchen and the living room. He, Cheese, Danny and Big would put the instruments upstairs in his & Cream's room. That way, Vanilla would not be able to find them on accident downstairs in their home. Amy and the ladies agreed to it, going to work in cleaning the place up while the men went to go put the instruments up.
As Cosmo listened to the instructions given to her by Amy, something rose up in her mind. The pink hedgehog's word dulled until it was little more than white noise as she thought, 'My new powers… I wonder what my limits are? And… how more abilities I have now?'.
Things were getting more interesting now!
(Author's Notes: And… cut! That is it for this chapter! I apologize if it is short, but getting my groove back has been a bit of a task and I need to really think on how to move on with this one.
Before I do anything else, I want to give praise and honor to the Lord. Thank you once again God for aiding me in this story, and also helping me in my life personally. I still have a ways to go, but I strive to be a better servant and soldier for you Jesus. I thank you for my family and the friends I have made, both in real-reality and through sites such as this. I ask you Lord to continue guiding us, guarding us & also to make all of us strong, steady and sure with you.
It seems that Rouge and Shadow are going to give Mr. and Mrs. Clark some tests to prove themselves to them, but most likely just to get amusement on how far they will fair in the wild hybrid jungle/casino area. I did do some research, and I did find that in real life, certain plants do possess some healing qualities in herbal remedies and such. You can thank my friend Author Kearitona Sjachraelgil for that, as her knowledge on certain herbs & plants is really excellent!
And now we find that Cosmos has some newfound powers! I believe that with her second sprouting, and also being nurtured in a different environment other than her own planet & being exposed to the immense energy from before she sacrificed herself, has allowed some new abilities to come forth. More or less, she is a blank slate that has possibilities and potential.
And with the village now all ready to aid Cream and Tails in distracting Vanilla so they could practice for her birthday is now a go! Also, the character Zen Hisashi I actually was inspired to make by the Author LORD DESTRYUK and his OC that appears in his review that is in this story that is based on the character Zen Aku from one of the Power Rangers series. Check it out to see what I mean. There is still the problem on how to showcase to them the news of Danny to the villagers, since there is still some hostile tension towards humans thanks to Dr. Robotnik.
Now for the questions! Ahem…
If you were Rouge and Shadow, what kind of test would you give to Mathias and Torli?
How would you convince the villagers to help with distracting Vanilla until the time of her birthday? And if it came to hostile actions from the villagers, how do you think Amy and the others would protect Danny?
If you saw Cosmo levitating the others with her psychic powers, what would your first reaction be?
And finally this… since Cosmo is discovering her newfound abilities and power, what else do you think she could have that is not listed in her race's capabilities?
