Daniel, Cream and Tails: Musical Maestros

(Author's Notes: Hey everyone! I hope all of you are doing well.
Before I do or say anything else, I want to give praise and honor to the Lord! Thank you God for looking after me, and I will continue to look to you for guidance, correction, discipline, strength and conviction! I know I may stumble and fall, but I look to you to pick me back up, correct me and guide me back! I will always look to you Jesus for help in my stories, and also in my personal and professional life! I ask that you look over my family, my friends and those that really need you very much Jesus!
Well, here is another chapter that I hope you all enjoy. And I really hope it pleases the Author danielman21, whom requested this story.
I wish to do this for my Tia Pamela Espurova-Allen, and will keep doing it until some solid news comes in. She is working with police and other official groups to locate and bring home a missing girl that is part of a family she works with & has befriended.
Her name is Lina Khil, a little girl that was taken on December 20th, 2021. The search is still on for her, but so far… no luck.
Her information is this: She was four years old when she was abducted; hair brown, eyes brown, race Afghan, weight 55 lbs. & height 4'0. If any can help to locate and find her, please do so and notify the proper authorities. Hoping and praying still that she is found alive & returned to her family. They have put up a special about her on TV thanks to the San Antonio Police Department. Any information you wish to seek about her you can search for online, and hopefully it will help to find her and bring her back home safely.
We cannot please everyone, nor do we ever wish to do so. I believe in the words of my pastor Rick Godwin from Summit Christian Center at San Antonio and it is this: If you try to please everyone, you lose yourself entirely. So while others may not be pleased at this, it is what it is. Our aim is not to please all, but to write a worthwhile story that follows Truth. No more, no less.
There will be NO kind of characters or reference to slash or femme-slash of any kind. There will also be no trans, gender-free, binary/non-binary, gender-neutral characters or notions in this special series, nor in any of my other stories. Will NOT follow ever the WOKE (STONED) movement or this New Normal junk that has been seriously poisoning the communities, people, societies and culture!

I do not own the plot, my new Author friend does. Neither of us own Sonic X, as it is a television animated series that was created in Japan. It was directed by Haijime Kamegaki, produced by Takeshi Sasamura & Tadahito Matsumoto. The original network is was broadcasted from is TV Tokyo in Japan, and in the United States by many other networks such as Disney Channel, Jetix, Fox, 4Kids TV and more. It ran from April 2003 to April 2005.
Also, will be utilizing a level or so from the video game Sonic Forces even though I have never played the game itself.

And here is a song that is to be played here for the entertainment. It is Holding Out For A Hero sung by Bonnie Tyler, written by Jim Steinman & Dean Pitchford. Played in the 1984 Paramount Film Footloose, released as a single in the album Footloose & Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire in April 1984 & labeled by Columbia. The album Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire was released in May 1986.
Now, on with the story!)
The moment that Tails and his companions were in the woods, a good distance from the home & also that Vanilla would not hear their practicing, they started to get to work. The two-tailed fox spoke up, "Okay everyone! Let's get started! First, we need to see if we can work on the other instruments.".
This got some confused looks from the group, Amy asking the question, "Work on the other instruments? Why is that Tails?".
The genius of mechanics & robotics on the side of Good answered in a firm but gentle tone, "We worked well with the instruments we chose, but I think it's best to see if we have some talent with the other instruments in case something happens. You know, if one of us gets sick or something that will cause them to not perform. Best to see if we are compatible with at least some of these instruments now rather than just wait, and something happening at the last minute.".
Amy and the others soon saw the wisdom in Tails' words. If something did happen to them, then at least one of them could be a substitute of sort. Tails looked to Cosmo and suggested, "Cosmo, let's see if your unique guitar can work with someone else. Let Amy hold it and try it, please.".
The alien plant girl looked to her creation, than turned and handed it to Miss Rose. The lovely pink hedgehog handled the electric-looking guitar gently, admiring its shape and smoothness. She looked at the strings, than plucked one of them. No sound came out of it, not one little vibration. Amy plucked two strings this time, but even though they moved, nothing came from them.
After another try, with no success, Amy handed the guitar back to Cosmo which turned from a dull-green color to a bright color, which surprised the others mildly. The pink hedgehog stated, "It looks like this thing doesn't work for me. And think it only works for Cosmo since she made it.". Tails considered that it was possible, than asked Cosmo to play something on it.
The lady love of Tails obliged, plucking the strings which this time did make a sound. Cheese went over and plucked a string, and it did make a sound but it did not sound right. Tails spoke once more, "This confirms one thing at least. Cosmo is the only one that can use that guitar since she made it, and it seems that only she can power it up.".
Danny went to Amy, the young lad looking up to her and asking her in a hopeful tone, "Ummm… Miss Amy, do you… do you think I can try that little harp of yours? To see if I can use it like you can?".
The young lady smiled and answered, "Of course little guy! Here you go.". He presented the mini-harp to Danny, who looked quite pleased once he had the instrument in his possession. He made sure to handle it carefully since it was Amy's, plucking the strings on it. Oh, it did make some sound but it sounded a bit off.
Cream spoke in her usual cute tone of hers, "Hmmm… at least he can use it. Danny, can you please play something on it?". He looked to her with a smile, nodded his head and answered that he would try.
The human lad moved his fingers over the instrument, remembering how in a scene from his fave 1989 Disney movie The Little Mermaid, he saw a fish playing a harp. He copied the movements that the fish did, but sadly it seemed that it did not translate too well on the harp. Oh, he did play a tune but it seemed that he was off-key. After some time, he stopped and looked quite sad.
Tails decided to cheer up the Clark lad, going up to him and patting him on the back. When he looked up to him, Tails spoke gently, "Hey, it's okay. I think you are okay enough, but I think you just need some more practice on it. We'll see what we can come up with as we go along, okay?".
This made Danny feel a bit better, who smiled and answered back, "Thanks Tails! Thank you!". He then turned and handed Amy the harp back, thanking her again for letting him use it. Amy smiled, which made Danny blush again bashfully.
Cream than called out, "Tails! Mind if I try Chesse's keyboard piano?". He replied to go for it, to see what she could do with it. The little rabbit smiled brilliantly, going to the set-up instrument and turning it on as it had batteries powering it up.
She played some of the bars on it, and while it did sound good, it seemed that her timing playing the right notes were a bit off. After about a couple of minutes of playing Cream stopped and looked at the others. She asked, "Well, how was that?".
Big answered in his usual tone, "You play okay Cream, but me think you need more practice.". On his head Froggy nodded, the little amphibian croaking in agreement.
Danny went to her and said in an encouraging tone, "They're right Cream. You did sound good, but I think you just need to remember which keys sound good off one another, that's all.".
Tails added in, "He's not wrong there. If you do practice and remember which bars to play at the right time, you could play the piano quite well.". This made Cream smile, glad to see that she did have talent with a piano but she needed some practice first.
Cheese went to Tails and spoke in his native tongue, the two-tailed fox trying to understand the language. It seemed that he still needed a bit more fine polishing when it came to understanding Chao like Cream did. To make it more clear, the blue Chao went to the ground and brought up the flute that Tails brought.
Cosmo spoke, "Ah, I see. He wants to know if he can try out the flute.".
Tails nodded his head, giving the small friend of Cream the go-ahead. Cheese smiled and started to blow… causing everyone to cover their ears from the sound that was now coming from the flute! Apparently, Cheese believed that all he needed to do was blow in it to make music. Unfortunately, it did not work out quite that well.
After some moments of enduring the sound that was coming from the flute, Cheese stopped and looked to the small audience. Tails had a strained smile on as he uncovered his ears, going to the Chao and gently taking the flute out of his hands. He managed to get some words out to Cheese, "Hehehe… well.. that was great Cheese. That was good. But… umm… well I don't think the flute is for you.". He noted that Cheese's arms were short, so he couldn't cover or utilize any of the holes on the flute properly. He had the energy, but not the skill.
Cheese felt a bit down, but Cosmo went to the small dimensional creature and smiled at him. She spoke in a kind tone, "Don't worry Cheese. So far, you are good with the keyboard. So perhaps among these other instruments is one you can be good at, so don't get discouraged.".
Tails smiled at how the words of his crush managed to lift up the spirits of Cheese, who cheered happily and hugged the face of the alien plant girl, who laughed and accepted the hug. He said to himself admiration in his tone, "Cosmo, you are so cool like that…".
One could really see on how struck he was by the extraterrestrial girl. But for now, they needed to see which instrument they were good enough with to use in case a substitution was needed.
Amy looked at Daniel's guitar, then at the small lad and asked, "Since you played on my harp, can I try your guitar next please?". The human boy smiled and quickly brought his instrument to Amy, who giggled at the eager actions and face of Danny.
She tested the strings, plucking some of them to see how they sounded. Once she had a grasp on how certain strings sounded when played, she tried her hand at playing it truly. While the notes she played were good, she was a bit off on some of the notes. After a while, she ceased her actions and looked to the others for any kind of confirmation.
Tails thought on what he heard and stated, "Well, you have a good grasp when it comes to stringed instruments. The guitar is similar to a harp, but there are several differences there. All you need to do is find them, study up on them and also practice more.".
Danny exclaimed with an eager tone, "Yeah, just like Tails said! You are good Miss Rose, all you need is practice with it!". The others also chimed in with their own agreements with Danny and Tails, that Amy had skills with the stringed instruments and just needed more practice with the guitar. The pleased look on her face spoke volumes, giving the guitar back to Danny and ruffling the little one's hair in thanks for the words & for letting her use his instrument.
The young lad was blushing brightly, which made Amy, Cream and Cosmo giggle as they found the puppy crush from Danny so cute.
Once the giggling was done, Danny asked to play the violin. Tails gave him the instrument to him, showing him how the bow worked on said object. Once he knew what to do, Danny gave the violin a go but doing it slowly. The sound coming from it was quite haunting in a dramatic kind of way, though some notes were a bit off key.
It sounded a little like the beginning of the Grim Grinning Ghost sound piece from the Haunted Mansion attraction from one of the Disney theme parks.
After playing the piece, Danny stopped and looked to his friends. He asked in an innocent tone, "Well, how was that?".
Cosmo answered in a surprised tone, "Wow! Little Danny, that was very good!".
Cream added in with delight, "Yeah! I mean, that was haunting but not in a scary way! It was amazing!". Cheese spoke in his own language agreeing with his friend.
Tails spoke up after them, "I have to say Daniel, you are good with stringed instruments like Amy here. All you need is some practice and training, and you could play both the guitar and violin well!".
The praise made Danny blush bright red, and when Amy added in her own compliments, he blushed even further. The pink hedgehog beauty really couldn't help it, pinching the left cheek of the child gently and in a playful manner. Danny was just so cute in her eyes like so.
Cosmo inquired, "How about if I try the flute?".
Cheese gave the wind instrument to the alien lass, Cosmo studying it for a moment before putting the mouthpiece to her lips. She started to blow, softly and surely, while using her fingers on the holes. The melody that came out was very beautiful, a few notes off now and then but still lovely. To Danny though, the music sounded like the one from the 1994 Disney animated movie The Lion King called Can You Feel The Love Tonight!
During the song, Cosmo glowed as she played! A soft, gentle green glow that enveloped her body and seemed to enhance the song. The melody playing, along with the aura, seemed to reach out and encompass the area the others were in, but only them in a small circle radius. Tails and the others let out soft gasps as they felt a kind of peace wash over their very beings, inside and out!
It lasted only a few minutes as Cosmo soon ceased her song, the green aura from her being receding back into her. The group let out sighs as the peace they felt left them, looking in awe at the alien girl who was unaware of what occurred. She had shut her eyes when she played, letting the melody just flow from her.
She opened her eyes, looking at the others who seemed to be a bit out of breath. Cosmo was puzzled and inquired, "Huh? Is everyone alright?".
Tails looked at his lady love with awe & wonder and spoke in a tone that matched his emotions, "Cosmo, that was… that was incredible!".
Amy added in with the same tone, "Yeah! Cosmo, that was amazing! You played wonderfully on that flute!".
Danny also came in, "Yeah! That sounded like a song from one of my favorite movies! And that green glow you gave off felt really good! I felt like I was back in my Mom's arms in a hug, and it felt so good!".
Seeing her confused face, Cream explained to her, "When you played the flute, you glowed with green light! It spread out and touched all of us! It felt so good and comforting… it was like when my Mom hugs me!". Big, Froggy and Cheese agreed with her on that. It seemed that when Cosmo was putting her love into the flute, she projected said love outward through her new powers. And when it touched the others, they were filled with said emotion. Each of them put that emotion into a memory, as Danny and Cream stated.
Cosmo was stunned by this, soon looking to the flute, then her own two hands. She thought to herself, 'What other kinds of powers I'm able to do now that I have been reborn?'. She had crafted a musical instrument into reality with her very own thoughts, had psychic powers that could levitate objects and living beings… and now seemingly sending out her emotions like so.
It did amaze her… but at the same time started to make her worry on what other abilities she could have.
Tails went to her, putting a gentle hand on her that stopped her spiral down into negative thinking. She saw his smile and said gently, "Cosmo, don't worry about it. So far, your new abilities and powers have been used for good. So until something else happens that really does require looking into, just be glad that your powers are something you can control. Not the other way around.". It was like he knew what she was thinking! And in a way, it was true.
The lovely alien girl looked to her crush, smiling and replying, "Thanks Tails. I needed that.". Indeed, the two-tailed anthro fox had managed to steer her away from a downward spiral of worry and paranoia.
The rest of the group tried with their other instruments, but they it seemed that some would need some practice with certain ones. When it was all said and done, the group agreed to work on the instruments as follows:
Amy would practice with her lyre harp, Danny on his acoustic guitar, Cheese on the keyboard piano, Cream on the violin, Cosmo on her unique electric guitar & finally Tails on the flute. The other instruments that were left out would be practiced on, but only on weekends. There was only so much they go do in the short amount of time they had.
Danny said, "I can't wait to learn how to play the music that you will be teaching us Tails! But that reminds me… you said you had something that could help me learn to play that song. The one called… uhhh… ah! That's it, Livin' On A Prayer!".
Tails soon remembered what he said yesterday and remarked, "Oh yes! I almost forgot. I remembered listening to that song a lot when back on Earth. I bet that I could recreate the song somehow and put it on paper form. But it will take some time and…".
Just then, Amy Rose's eyes widened as something seemed to jog into her memory. After a moment, she hit the side of her head with her left hand and exclaimed, "Awww! I totally forgot about that!". All of the members in the area looked at the pink hedgehog beauty quizzically, her outburst a little perplexing.
The young human lad asked, "Miss Amy? What's wrong? What's the matter?".
She looked at Danny and answered, "Oh, nothing's seriously wrong sweetie. I just remembered something that can help Tails out, and also you out as well.".
Seeing their still-confused faces, Amy took out her cell phone and explained, "Something about what Danny said tickled the back of my mind yesterday. I couldn't pinpoint it back then, but now after what you said, its came back to me in a snap!".
She continued, "You see, back on Earth I managed to find a music shop with Lindsey and Ella. I managed to get some music CD's there, and also Lindsey told me about a shop where one can download music. The CD ones I managed to take back with me when we got sent back here are at home, and the downloaded music ones are here on my phone!". Ella had told her that it was good to have back-up music in case something went wrong with her phone, so she followed her advice.
Indeed, everyone was surprised by this statement. Cream than asked the million-ring question, "Well… do the songs still work Amy?".
The pink hedgehog winked in a positive response and answered, "Yup! Most of the songs I got still work, though some skip for some reason…". Indeed, a few of the songs that she did get DID work well for some time… but then they started to skip, the lyrics and songs seemingly sounding off & fuzzy. It seems that some of the data within it got corrupted, thus the skipping parts.
Amy activated her phone, which still had a near full-charge of 98 percent, and scrolled through a folder marked MUSIC LIBRARY. She soon located what she needed, but wanted to confirm with Danny. She looked at him and asked, "Is the song you mentioned earlier by someone named Bon Jovi?". When he nodded his head, she smiled and hit the Play button.
Soon, the music started to come up to indicate that it was playing! Some like Cream, Big, Froggy, Cheese and Cosmo were mystified by the music coming forth. Danny, Amy and Tails were not as they had heard the music/song before, but it still moved them as they had smiles on their faces.
And Danny… when Bon Jovi started to sing the lyrics, he started to follow along with it! The young seven-year old indeed had heard the song a lot, following the lyrics almost perfectly! And also he pretended to play the guitar he was holding, his fingers moving but not on the strings. It seemed that when he heard his favorite song, he really got into the swing of it with his imagination.
Cosmo and the others were entranced by this, the alien girl seeing that humans really did have some interesting songs & music that sounded very unique and moving. She could feel her body moving seemingly on its own accord, swaying to the lyrics and music pieces.
Cream listened intently to the lyrics, feeling the emotions coming from Bon Jovi as he sung about Tommy and Gina, who seemed to have hit rough time but had kept together all because of their love for one another.
Amy looked at Danny as he was moving and singing with the music, smiling as the young lad really looked to be in his element even if it was just imaginary. She remembered seeing a picture of Bon Jovi in one of the music stores she was in on Earth, some that went back to the 1980s as he had been sensational back then. She soon giggled as she imagined the clothes that Bon Jovi wore adorning Danny, the mental picture in her head making her laugh but in a good, positive way.
Once the song was done, Amy turned off her selection and closed her folder. She was a believer in not wasting any energy on her cell phone unless it was necessary. She looked to the others and asked, "Well, what do you think? And Tails, do you think you can somehow you can use it?".
Cream clapped and exclaimed, "That song was amazing! The ones from Earth sound better than the ones here on Mobius!". She was a bit biased in that area. She had plenty of songs and anthro musicians, and while they were good… the ones from Earth just had that special kind of essence/charm/substance that the ones on Mobius seemed to lack. Cheese seemed to agree with her, clapping and cheering in his native language.
Big nodded his head and agreed, "Yes, that was very good!". Froggy croaked in agreement, even jumping up and down on his friend's head to demonstrate it.
Cosmo smiled and put forth, "Well, I do like the meaning of the song. The music was good, but the song and lyrics is what I really liked. It showed that both Tommy and Gina were struggling, but they kept holding on day by day together. Living on a prayer, just like the title of the song. And to me, that sends a good message which I like!". It appeared that Cosmo liked music, but was apparently also focused on the meaning of the song as well. If it showcased a good message, she approved. If not, most likely would ignore it.
Tails smiled big time and exclaimed, "Yes! I can use that! It seems compatible with my computer at my workshop. I can hook it up, look up the lyrics and the music notes. Plus see what kind of instruments are needed for it. Thank you so much for downloading it Amy!".
The pink hedgehog beauty beamed and replied, "Yay! You're welcome everyone! And thanks for the compliments! And Danny, I have to say you rock like that when I saw you move with the music!". Danny looked at her confused, than remembered that he often moved to the beat of music that really got his attention. He blushed a bright red and was looking away bashfully, making the others chuckle at this.
After a few good laughs, Tails stated, "Okay everyone, I believe we all now need to practice on the music we need to learn before Mom's birthday and… oh shoot!".
Cream asked her big brother in concern, "Tails, what's wrong?".
He sighed and answered back, "I just remember, I have the sheets of music we need to practice on, but no stands on which to hold them on. It looks like I need to go back to the workshop and…".
Cosmo called out, "Ummm… Tails. I think I can help here.". Looking at her in puzzlement, the alien beauty suggested that she could use her powers to make stands. All that she needed was a visual of some kind, and her powers would do the rest. Seeing that they were short on time, Tails agreed to the suggestion. Using a stick, he drew in some dirt nearby on what the kind of stand that was needed & told her the dimensions of it.
Once she got a good look at the drawing, which was in pretty good detail in the dirt, and also Tails's extra info, Cosmos got immediately to work. She called forth her plant powers, her body glowing a soft green aura. She closed her eyes, spread her arms forth and called forth nature.
From around her grew thick vines that rose up from the ground, the vines twisting and turning until they started to form a shape. It was the shape of the stands that Tails had drew! And in addition, little flower blossoms sprouted on certain areas of the stand! Each one as different in height as to accommodate each person due to their own unique height, herself included.
It lasted for about two minutes, Cosmo's aura vanishing as her task was complete. She floated back down to the ground, opening her eyes and seeing her handiwork. Danny exclaimed in awe, "Wow! That was so cool Cosmo! That was so cool!".
Tails went to his lady and inquired, "Are you feeling okay after that?". He really was concerned about her, especially since using her power now would cause a drain on her energy.
But it was proven wrong as she smiled at her beau and replied, "I'm feeling fine Tails. When I use any of my new powers, it does put a little drain on my energy. But when I use my Nature power like so, it's not as taxing.". This was indeed good news for both Tails and everyone else.
With their stands now up and ready for use, it was time to get to work! All put their sheets down on the stands, said parchments showing that they would practice Eine Kleine Nachtmusik - 2nd Movement by Mozart. With Tails giving directions, they would do their best with the time given!
~Later on~
It was now 11:45 a.m., and Vanilla was making her way back home. She looked quite exhausted, her face a bit sweaty and her posture showing that was shuffling her feet due to tiredness. The motherly beauty spoke softly in a tired voice, "Oh my, that was a lot of help I did for so many neighbors…".
Just like Amy stated, Dethroc Dragon and the others in the village had kept Mrs. Rabbit busy with quite the various things. After she had aided Mr. and Mrs. Dragon, she was called over by others for either help or advice. She got a little café break with a neighbor at around 10:30 a.m. for about thirty minutes, then had to go and help someone who needed her.
To her, it was a bit puzzling and strange to have so many call on her for assistance to even the smallest of things. But now, she was done and heading home.
The villagers knew to not push their luck in this situation. While their plan to keep Vanilla from the home was good, it would be suspicious if she would be kept away for too long. So they agreed to let her go back home in the afternoon to rest, and then call Tails to see if he needed their assistance once more. Tails had his own private line in case someone needed him or Sonic for real emergencies.
Once Vanilla entered the abode, she was saw that the children plus Big and Froggy were inside. It seemed that the young ones estimation of Vanilla returning home were excellent, arriving back inside the home at precisely 11:30 a.m. to get everything packed away again in the hiding place & coming back to clean up the home a little.
The group had practiced inside the woods for some time, Tails doing the best he could with them. They were good as beginners, but they had to stop frequently to correct notes and when to play. But all in all, it was promising start. Now they were home to rest and relax, and also to make sure that Vanilla was none the wiser about the surprise.
Cosmo was at the table talking with Tails, Big was playing checkers with Danny in the living room with Froggy watching from the large cat's head, and Amy was playing Guess Who? with Cream and Cheese in another part of the room.
When they saw her come in, Cheese, Danny and Cream immediately went up as they abandoned their games to greet her. All three exclaimed at the same time, "Mother/Vanilla/Chao!". They hugged her tight, causing the single mother to stumble a bit but she stood her ground. She smiled and giggled softly, patting the heads of the two precious children and Chao who were so glad to see her.
Tails called out from the table, "Hi Mom!".
Cosmo waved to her with a smile and called out, "Hey there Ms. Bunny!".
Amy did the same and stated, "Good to see you back, Vanilla!".
Big waved to her, his eyes closed in a U-shape and chuckling in good humor. Froggy jumped up and down on his head, croaking in greeting.
Vanilla smiled to all of them and replied with love in her tone, "Good to see all of you! I hope you all were not bored while I was gone.".
Young Daniel looked up as he slowly released her from the hug, taking a few steps back and answering, "Oh! We had a good time! We played in the woods, Tails showed us some of his stuff from his tree house, and more!". He was told to make sure that Vanilla would not know of their secret practices, so the lad had been told to give her those words in case she asked anything like that.
Cream asked her mother, "Did you manage to help Mr. Dethroc with what he needed help with?". Cheese asked the same question but in his own native tongue.
Ms. Rabbit walked into the living room, going to the couch to sit down with Cream, Danny and Cheese helping her. The others stood up as Tails, Cosmo and Amy going to where the others were at. They could all see that she was quite tired, the kids helping her to sit on the couch.
Vanilla answered her daughter as she sank into the plush couch "Yes, I was able to help him and his wife. But… oh my… after I finished aiding them, our other neighbors came to ask me for aid. From the simplest things to some pretty… peculiar things such as helping arrange flowers in a garden like so… it was very unusual.".
While the others did look surprise on the outside, inside they were glad that they had helped out in the distraction part of the plan.
Vanilla asked Amy to bring her a tall glass of cold water, the pink hedgehog obliging as she went into the kitchen. Tails than pulled Cosmo away from the group so they could talk privately. Once they were a good distance away, the two-tailed fox genius whispered, "Now that we know the limit at least on how much Vanilla can be distracted, we need to talk to the others in the village to see what they have in mind. That way Mom won't get too suspicious.".
Cosmo agreed with that, as it did sound… well, sound. The neighbors would have to be informed that while the plan is working, they would need to alter any kind of methods either slightly or moderately so that Vanilla would not catch on.
The duo went back to group, Danny telling Vanilla something. The two managed to hear his words, "And Vanilla, Amy has music on her phone that is from my world! And they are still good! Do you want to hear one?".
The mature beauty gulped down the cold water that Amy brought to her, Vanilla thanking her than asking, "I would like to hear one, if you don't mind Amy. I mean, I have heard some songs when I was on Earth and they seem to hold that special kind of charm that made them a bit better than the ones I have heard here on Mobius. Can I hear one of them?".
Amy looked a bit surprised, looking to Tails for confirmation as he was technically the leader of this whole operation. It only took a moment, but he nodded his head at her subtly. They were working on different music's, so it would not hurt for Vanilla to hear something that would not be played on her birthday.
So Amy took out her cell phone, brought up her music playlist and started to scroll down. She had a lot of music choices, but she soon found a song that she believed Vanilla might like. She looked to her and said, "I think you may like this one. Heh… in a way, the song kinda reminds me of Tails and Cosmo when they got to get to know one another back then.".
She was about to tell them on how the song reminded her of her young days, back when she was completely enamored with Sonic. But she felt that it was more of the current couple in front of her.
When the song played, Danny quickly recognized what it was. He had heard the song many a time in the car with his parents, as this was their favorite song back when they were young, when they first met actually. Danny went to Amy and exclaimed, "Amy! Amy! I know this song! I know this song! Come on! Let's sing and dance to this one together! And Tails and Cosmo can join us too!".
The surprises just seem to keep coming for all of them. First Amy remembering the phone that had Earth songs on it, Cosmo using her Nature power to make stands, Vanilla's helping around the neighborhood… and now this! Well… they decided to go along with it. Danny pulled Amy to a more open space of the room, soon in front of her. Danny motioned for Tails to do the same, but with Cosmo. The two-tailed mechanical genius shrugged his shoulders and did so, Cosmo following him. The others went with Vanilla to see the little impromptu show that was about to start.
And then the lyrics came forth!
Where have all the good men gone,
And where are all the gods?
Where's the street-wise Hercules to fight the rising odds?
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and I turn, and I dream of what I need!
Danny did some poses by Amy's side, mimicking what his father did whenever the song played for his mother. He was making some muscle poses, which were silly and exaggerated but made the ladies giggle and smile at that. Now Amy was seeing what Danny was doing; he was going to be her 'hero' like the song. Tails also saw this as well, and with a sheepish smile to Cosmo, also started to get into the act.
Cosmo and Amy giggled as this was going on, finding all of this so cute. Vanilla and the others were doing the same, Ms. Rabbit wishing she could record all of this. Amy soon got into the act, singing the lyrics while she and Cosmo pretended to be the ladies in need of saving from their 'heroes'. Well… one a real one, one a pretend one.

Danny then started to 'fight' with something, or someone in this case. He punched and kicked at seemingly an imaginary foe, seemingly keeping Amy from harm. He did some more poses while moving his body to the music, just getting into it. Tails also got into the act, doing some impressive kicks and also flying into the air to do some quick dive-bombing on the 'enemy'. Cream and Cheese clapped for her brother and human friend, Vanilla smiling at the antics of her son and her new charge.
Froggy jumped up and down on Big's head, the little amphibian also getting into the act.
Somewhere after midnight, in my wildest fantasy…

Danny and Tails were really hamming it up as they followed the lyrics to the song, the two now running around the place around Amy and Cosmo respectively. And that is when things got a bit more interesting. During a certain part of the lyrics, Tails swooped down to sweep Cosmo off of her feet and into the air! The alien girl was surprised, but in a pleasant way as she looped her arms around his neck.
Now with this situation, Danny looked to Amy in both confusion and disappointment. He had seen his father sweep his mother off her feet, and now Tails with Cosmo. So… what was he supposed to do? He was too small and weak to do this, and that thought made him tear up a little. But Amy smiled and offered the solution… she scooped HIM up and brought him into a hug that made him blush!
It seemed that a Superwoman came in to sweep him off his feet! And it seemed the little guy didn't mind that much on it.

Amy spun little Danny around as she moved to the music, the little human enjoying himself instead of being embarrassed from earlier. In the air, Tails and Cosmo were doing a little air dance of their own. The alien girl was using her own power to levitate in the air, holding onto the hands of Tails as they both were like aerial acrobats in the air. The crowd before them clapped at the scene; heroes with their ladies, one on the ground & one in the air!
Cream and Cheese were cheering loudly, Vanilla also immensely enjoying the sight as her tiredness from earlier melted away as she enjoyed the performance made by Danny, Amy, Tails and Cosmo. Even Big was smiling as he enjoyed the show as well.

At this particular part of the song, Danny asked Amy to put him down which she did. The young man than stood in front of Amy, as if ready to defend her. In his mind's eye, his imagination brought him to seeing the large form of Robotnik! While he had not met the man personally, he had seen videos of him taken by many who had recorded any incidents involved with Sonic in the past.
He stood bold now to his 'enemy', ready to fight. Tails and Cosmo remained in the air to see the spectacle, the Clark kid running full tilt on his imagination. The anthro alien plant beauty decided to help out, using her levitation powers to bring up some throw pillows from the couch that was not being used. They were covered in a soft green glow, hovering in front of Danny to look like a person.
This surprised the group, the young human lad looking up to Cosmo who simply smiled and nodded her head. It was her way of helping out, to make the 'enemy' have a visible form. Danny quickly caught on, smiled and then turned to the floating pillows. He then started to punch and kick at the floating pillows whom he saw as Dr. Robotnik.

The whole group was cheering for Danny as he continued to fight his enemy Robotnik a.k.a the throw pillows. He punched and kicked with all that he could, given his small seven-year old body. In his mind's eye, he was defending the pretty Amy from the evil villain! But unlike Sonic, he was going to stick around and stay even after beating up the bad guy.
He then yelled and did a double-punch to the pillows midsection, sending them down and the glow ceasing, showing that Cosmo had released her hold on the items.
The small human child smiled at his 'victory' lifting his hands up like the legendary boxer Rocky Balboa, glad to have won over his opponent. Amy giggled and went to Danny, kneeling down to be at level with him and whispered, "My hero!". She than gave him a kiss on the cheek, which had him blush so fast and red, it was adorable. He was smiling big time, his heart racing along with his body from the 'fight'.

Tails came down with Cosmo, the duo giggling at the sight of Danny blushing like mad. The little guy turned to Tails, smiled and exclaimed, "He's a hero too! We're both heroes!". This caused Tails to be a little surprised, but the others were smiling and agreeing very much with the kid.
Cream spoke up with excitement in her tone, "Of course! Tails is my big brother, and a big hero!". Cheese agreed with his friend, speaking up in his own native tongue.
Big added in, "Yup! Tails is hero like Sonic!".
Cosmo gave Tails a loving look and spoke, "He certainly is. He has the mighty heart of a hero, and I'm glad for it.". She gave him a kiss on the cheek, which had him blush big time and making a goofy/smiling face from said kiss.
Vanilla giggled softly and spoke, "You both are heroes to us. So let's hear it for the heroes!".
Amy lifted Cody up in her arms, Cosmo hugging Tails tight to her side. The music may have reached it peak near the end, but the cheering started for the duo. Danny and Tails were a bit tired, but they were feeling on high inside.
When the song ended, Vanilla thanks Amy for the music & her boys for the show. The pink hedgehog stated that it was no problem, turning off the music before it could switch to another. Amy than offered to make lunch for them, even though it would have to be sandwiches. All of them accepted the offer, with Danny declaring that he would help.
Vanilla was feeling blessed at the moment as she was surrounded by family and friends, and the same could be said for Cosmo. She was back, had her friends back & also having Tails back in her life. Though still in its young stage, the young love would hopefully blossom into something much more for the couple.
(Author's Notes: And… cut! That is it for now! I apologize if this seems a bit short, but I felt that it was needed for now for this chapter.
Before I say or do anything else, I want to give praise and honor to the Lord. Thank you Jesus for helping me out, both with the story and also with my personal life. I will strive to do my best for you, to become a better servant and solider for you Lord! I ask that you continue to look after me, my family, my friends and all of those around the world that need you. With the world still going bonkers as is, and not in a good way, we need you now more than ever!
So I believe we are at the mid-way point of the story. In the next chapter, expect to see some thrills and chills as Team Chaotix continue to try and outrun Shadow and Rouge with their targets in tow! I am going to see about the time difference between the two zones as best I can. Heh, math and numbers and I don't do too well. And soon, Danny will be reunited with his family!
Also the thing with the CD's and downloading music on Amy's phone, it is kinda what me and my family do. They do the live-streaming and such like others do, but I prefer to get CD's and DVD's and the like. To have a back-up in case the Internet blinks out. And on the time it has gone out for some amounts of time here where I live, I am considered the hero as I have back-ups that do not rely entirely on live-streaming. VHS, DVDs and CD's baby!
Always have a back-up, in digital and physical form as best you can!
