At the base of a cliff formation that overlooks the Sirona lands; Duma cliffs. Nymeria, Zeon, and Buge are standing and waiting, "Are you certain of this Buge." Nymeria asked him.
"Yes, Nymeria…" Buge answered, when they see Sora along with Jinbei approaching riding on Shadow fangs back. He climbs off and walks up to them.
"Hey, I've got the message that Chill sent me. What's going on?" Sora asks them.
"Is there some sort off problem?" Shadow fang asks as well.
"Oh, please don't let it be that the mangos are being eaten off faster than I could." Jinbei says to earn a look from Sora, "What…? Can't a lemur worry about his fruit availability." Jinbei says to Sora.
"…No, its nothing like that." Zeon says chuckling a bit at the start.
"Then, I don't understand…" Sora says confused along with Jinbei as well.
"Buge…" Nymeria calls out to him to explain, Buge then walks up.
"I have sensed it, there is a great power that is about to be awakened once more. A power that shall bring peace and great change. The time of the primordian's has come again." Buge said as he looked onto the Sirona lands and then back at the group.
"What, the primordian's? Are sure of this, Buge?" Shadow fang asked surprised by this and Buge nodded to him.
"I feel like that old ape might have been living in that tree for far too long now." Jinbei said whispering to both Sora and Shadow fang.
"Wait, what are these primordian's? Sora asks still confused.
"Not a what Sora, a who. The primordian's are great warriors, who have been blessed with powers of the forces that are part of the circle of life." Shadow fang explained to him.
"The primordian's duty is to use these powers to help protect the Sirona lands and the circle of life from any that would disrupt it." Nymeria also explained.
"Wow, that sounds amazing. So, does that mean that they are on their way to the Sirona lands? When are they supposed to arrive?" Sora asks a bit excited, but only gets silence from them.
"I mean they are coming, aren't they?" Sora asked a bit perplexed by their silence.
"Well, yes and no. It's not as simple as you think it is Sora." Zeon says to him.
"What do you mean?" Sora asked.
"This way Sora." Nymeria said as she walked ahead leading the group.
"Uh, okay." Sora said as he and the others followed alongside her. Nymeria took them around the bend of the Duma cliffs base.
"I bet you know what it is do you Buge…? Come on." Jinbei says leaping by him, but Buge just walks on following the rest.
Nymeria leads the group to what Sora sees as a green patch of vines that have overgrown on the rocks.
"It looks like a bunch of overgrown vines?" Jinbei says a bit puzzled at the sight along with Sora.
"Buge." Nymeria says to him as he climbs on a nearby rock and the pushes the vines aside, revealing the mouth of a giant cave entrance.
"Woah." "Would you look at that." "Interesting." Sora, Jinbei, and Shadow fang say surprised and amazed that it was a cave all along. They all start to walk in.
"How did I not know this was here? Zeon did you know that this was here?" Sora asked him.
"No, this is actually my first time being here. I've never realized that this was a cave." Zeon said to him.
"Nor did I." Shadow fang also said looking around with Jinbei.
"Nymeria, what is this place?" Sora asked her.
"This is the secret lair of the primordian's. It used to be the place where the primordian's would hold their meetings." Nymeria explained.
"Maybe they should be thinking about, fixing the place up…Or at least do some dusting and vine clearing." Jinbei says coughing while a bit stuck on some vines. Shadow fang uses his claws to cut him down a bit close for his comfort.
"Hmm, perhaps." Buge says a bit intrigued, then starts walking up to a bunch of rocks at the back of the cave. He lifts his staff up, when a great burst of light and wind sounding like a dino's roar comes through an opening. Clearing dust and plants, enlightening the entire cave.
"Now that's a bit more like it. You think you can show me how to do that trick for my favorite sleeping tree." Jinbei says to Buge.
"Wow… what are these?" Sora asks amazed looking at collections of pictures on the cave walls.
"Those would be murals Sora." Shadow fang says to him.
"These have been painted on the cave wall from one generation to the next. Telling the story of the primordian's and many other tales from our lands." Nymeria explained.
"It is how I learned the story from my father, king Theo…" Zeon said.
"And he learned the story from his father and so on. Off course it is my duty as the royal mijuzi to paint what happens in the history of the Sirona lands for it to be remembered and passed on." Buge explained.
"Are those the primordian's?" Sora asks looking at a particular mural painting showing a group of dinosaur's underneath what looked like a dragon.
"Yes Sora, they are…" Nymeria says as Guru leans his staff to the painting making it almost come alive.
"Woah." Sora says amazed by this.
"According to our traditional lore, the life-giving dragon Gundrin gave five unique powers to five primordian warriors, each of these warriors represent a force that is a part of the circle of life. Fire, earth, wind, water, and lightning; Gundrin entrusted these forces to the primordian's to help protect our lands from darkness and destruction." Nymeria explained.
"They've been doing this for a long time?" Sora asked.
"Yes Sora, far longer than either I, Zeon, and Buge were born." Shadow fang said.
"Then that would make them ancient like you." Jinbei said earning a glare growl from shadow fang.
"So, then what happened to them? It looks like they haven't been in here since…forever ago." Sora said curiously.
"Well, the story goes that whenever a primordian passes on. The spirits of those forces will also pass on into the next one worthy to become the bearer of that force and the next primordian. However, when the last primordian's passed those spirits for some mysterious reason, never found another. Thus, disappearing and the line was broken." Zeon explained.
"That sounds totally intense." "Yeah." Sora and Jinbei said amazed by the story.
"So, no one knows why they didn't choose at that time?" Sora asked.
"I'm afraid so Sora." Shadow fang said.
"Though there is part of the tale that says that one of those last primordian's had their power go to their head, committing deeds that only favored what they desired and becoming something else entirely." Nymeria said leaving Sora stunned by that.
"These powers are a great gift Sora; they can be used for noble acts. But within the wrong claws, they can also lead to terrible evil." Buge explained leaving Sora startled at the thought.
"Well, I sure hope that the next primordian's wouldn't ever become like that. I mean all this, is really amazing with what they do." Sora said looking back at the pictures.
"I'm glad you think so Sora." Nymeria said.
"Yes, no amount of that kind of power should be used for such malicious intentions." Shadow fang also said in agreement.
"But wait, if the primordian's have been gone for such a long time. Then how did you know that they would be coming again Buge?" Sora asked him, which Buge looked to Nymeria which she responded with a nod.
"Because Sora, one of the primordian's is already standing…right here." Buge says pointing his staff at Zeon.
"Zeon?!" Sora and Jinbei said in unison amazed.
"Me?!" Zeon said surprised at the notion.
"Yes Zeon, you are one of the next primordian's. The primordian of fire." Buge said pointing towards one of the murals.
Well, this day seems to be full of surprises…" Shadow fang states
"But… Buge, I can't possibly be one of the primordian's. I am the prince of the Sirona lands and I have never had anything to do with fire." Zeon says still shocked and taken aback by all of this.
"Now, Now, Zeon, some of what you say is true. But today… the primordian spirit of fire has chosen you." Buge says as he opens a gourd fruit revealing several clear crystals, then lifting one of them up.
The crystal begins to shine as a luminous red spirit comes out taking the shape of a fire symbol. Then as Zeon was looking directly at it, the spirit turns into a rex shaped head and seems to be absorbed by Zeon as his eyes lit up from it passing through him. Zeon shakes off the feeling unsure of what just happened, the others though were amazed.
"Wow, amazing." "Now that was something." Sora and Jinbei said in awe by what they saw.
"Now as of this moment Zeon, you are the primordian of fire; and the leader of the primordian's. Do you still think that you can't be one of them?" Nymeria said to him as Zeon looked to others still taken aback, but then sighs with a snort at the end.
"Well… this is all happening so fast, and I'm not sure about being whether I'm right to be a primordian. But as the prince of the Sirona lands, I know its my duty to protect our home. So, I'll give it a go." Zeon said finally accepting the matter.
"I'm sure your father would be proud to know of this moment." Nymeria said as she and Zeon rub their faces affectionately with each other.
"Buge." Nymeria said, Buge then gives the gourd he opened with the crystals to Sora.
"You're giving this to me?" Sora asked.
"Sora, I would like for you and Zeon to assemble the rest of the primordian's of water, earth, wind, and lightning. When one of those crystal's glow, it means you have found them." Nymeria said to them.
"Alright Nymeria, got it." Sora said a bit excited as he went to Zeon and climbed onto his back.
"I promise, I won't fail you." "And so will I." Sora and Zeon said to Nymeria giving her faith in them as they start to head out.
"Shadow fang, Jinbei." Nymeria says to them as they respectively bow their heads, following Sora and Zeon along with Jinbei on his back.
"Don't worry Nymeria, he'll do fine." Buge says to her noticing a worried look.
"Yes Buge, but as a mother I can't help but worry…" Nymeria says to him as they walk out of the cave.
Meanwhile outside, Sora carrying the gourd and Zeon were walking by a trail that was close to a stream with a few gallimimus and blue-fanned antelope drinking from it. "Wow, I can still hardly believe that this all true; primordian's, protectors of the circle of life. Especially that you are a primordian yourself Zeon." Sora said to him still a bit amazed.
"Yes Sora, it is quite a bit amazing. Never would I have thought that myself is not only a prince, but now also a primordian…" Zeon says to Sora.
While on a nearby dead tree a reptile with a long toothless beak, a large crest on its head, two orange membraned wings, and a grayish-brown tanned body with a dark red head was watching them; a male Pteranodon.
"Primordian, hmmm?" The Pteranodon said intrigued by their conversation, he starts to follow them.
"Still, I must admit. It is also rather unnerving…" Zeon says a bit worried.
"Unnerving, really? But you're a tyrannosaur, I didn't think that you would actually be scarred of something like this." Sora said a bit surprised.
"All creatures feel fear Sora. Even I can be fearful sometimes, and when it comes to the fact that now I am primordian who represents the most destructive and unpredictable force that all creatures fear; fire. I am a bit frightened." Zeon says to him.
"Well, at least your believed in… I'm not like the other raptors in the pack, I don't have fangs or claws, and because of that…They don't really see me as a member and it makes keeping my promise to my father a lot harder for me." Sora says feeling a bit down as Zeon was taken aback as he listened.
"Then maybe you shouldn't be doing it their way…" Zeon said with Sora taken aback by that.
"I was born a tyrannosaur and a future king; I'm doing this the way I know I can in the circle of life. You may not have what the raptors or even I do. So perhaps you should consider finding your own way… Well, one thing for sure. You and I both have a lot to fill in our fathers' footsteps don't we." Zeon says cheering up Sora a bit and silently chuckling together at the end.
"Hey, wait up!" Shadow fang's voice shouts out with Jinbei on his back as they come running up to them.
"Shadow fang, Jinbei? What are you…?" Sora asked surprised.
"You didn't think that I would miss such an important event to the Sirona lands. I want to witness for myself that new coming of the primordian's, which I must say is exciting to think about." Shadow fang said to them.
"Yeah, the cat and I both want to check out who will be the new primordian's. After all, this is unbelievably incredible that they are making a comeback. Those ugly atrociraptors, hyeanadons, pteranodons, whatever else will now have to think twice about coming to the Sirona lands." Jinbei said rather ecstatic at the idea.
"Ugly, pteranodons?!" The male Pteranodon said surprised and taken aback by Jinbei's statement.
"Your right Jinbei, those outlaws will have something to lookout for now. And I am not a cat, I'm a thanator…!" Shadow fang said irritated, growling at the end to Jinbei with him cowering at that, Sora and Zeon laugh at this.
"Now, we already have the primordian of fire right here. All we need, are the others that represent the four other forces in the circle of life." Shadow fang stated.
"Mmhmm. Water, earth, wind, and lighting." Sora said with a nod.
"And their somewhere out there in the Sirona lands, waiting…" Zeon says then suddenly, they hear a roar echoing in the distance.
"Did you guys hear that?" Jinbei asks peeking the curiosity of the group as they listen to the roar echoing again.
"I know that roar anywhere." "It sounds like…" "Toro." Shadow fang, Sora, and Zeon said recognizing the roar. That's when they hear barks and squawks coming from the same direction, which Sora recognized who they were coming from.
"That's Katuri and Adar, and they sound like they're in trouble! Jinbei, please hold onto this." Sora says as he throws the gourd carrying the crystals over to Jinbei which makes him almost fall off. Sora then leaps from Zeon's back and starts swinging from vine to vine.
"Sora, wait…! Looks like the search would have to be held off for the moment." Shadow fang states.
"Yes, your right. Come on, let's not lose sight of him." Zeon said as he starts to run after him with shadow fang following behind and Jinbei.
"Hmm, interesting. I wonder if Drakhan knows about this?" The Pteranodon said as he flies off.
Meanwhile on a small field, Sora's siblings Katuri and Adar right by a snythetoceras were at a standoff with Toro the carnotaurus.
"Back off, Toro!" "This is our kill that we made, you have no right to take it. You know very well the law of the jungle when it comes to hunting on another's territory!" Katuri and Adar telling him off angrily.
"Ah, right. The law of the jungle… off course I know it. But I really do have a taste for snythetoceras today… And your pack isn't here now. So, I would be more than happy to take it off your claws, the easy…or the hard way." Toro said pleased at the idea, both sides stood ready to fight growling and snarling fiercely at each other.
Then Toro takes a snap at them with his jaws, but the two raptors dodge circling around either side of him. They leap onto his back using their hand and toe claws, they start biting and slashing at him. But Toro wasn't having it, he ferociously tries to shake them off. He then grabs Adar by the tail and throws him right off, then does the same with Katuri using his sheer mass. Katuri manages to land on her feet and runs over to Adar who gets back up.
Once again, the two sides stand off with Katuri and Adar growling and Toro roaring right back. Then through the trees Sora comes leaping off a vine, "Toro!". "Huh?!" Toro says surprised as the next thing he sees is Sora landing on his head, whom he tries to shake off.
"Sora!" Katuri said surprised as she and Adar watch him hold onto Toro's head, but Toro twists his body around and manages to throw him off. As Sora recuperates from the toss, he sees Toro walking towards him.
"Man-cub… you should've minded your own business." Toro says snarling irritably as Sora gets back up.
"It is my business, and its no wonder why they call you the bully of the plains Toro." Sora says making Toro snarling angrier as he steps ever closer to Sora who starts to flinch a bit.
However, Katuri and Adar came around and stepped ahead of Sora blocking Toro. "Stop right there, Toro!" "Were not gonna let you lay a single claw on our brother!" Katuri and Adar said growling at him.
"Hohohoh, really…after what happened a moment ago…what makes you two think you have a chance against me?" Toro said amusingly taunting them, then hears a voice and footsteps.
"Well…When the odds are four to one, I'd say there's a fighting chance. Wouldn't you agree Zeon." Shadow fang says standing alongside Zeon with Jinbei on his back; grabbing Toro's attention.
"That's far enough Toro. There's plenty of prey for you to choose from elsewhere in the Sirona lands. The law of the jungle forbids hunting on another's territory without permission. So, head back to your own territory…unless you want to take on all of us." Zeon says seriously warning Toro.
Toro looks back and forth between the two growling raptors guarding Sora, and Zeon with Shadow fang roaring and rumbling at him threateningly. Then after a moment, "Fine…No meal is worth it for this." Toro says with sighing snort relenting to them, he starts to walk away from the fight but then looks back.
"And as for you, Sora. Don't think I have forgotten what happened the other day." Toro says to him before he walks away.
"Hmm, I guess we showed him." Jinbei said feeling triumphant.
"Are you alright Sora?" "Yes, I'm fine. But what about you two?" Sora asked concerned to Katuri.
"Were okay, just a bit bruised with our bodies and pride but otherwise fine now that our catch is safe." Adar says to him.
"That's great…" Sora said relieved
"Yes… but tell me… What exactly were you thinking jumping onto Toro's head like that?!" Katuri said angrily snarling at Sora startling him.
"Well…I…I was just trying to help…" Sora said stuttering from the mood turnaround.
"You could've gotten yourself seriously injured, or worse if Toro got a hold of you…" Katuri said scolding him.
"Oh, come on Katuri. Aren't you glad that Sora came in when he did, not mention to it was very brave and raptor of him…" Adar says to her.
"Yes, brave…although I would prefer to say foolishly brave at that…" Shadow fang stated.
"Uh, fellas." Jinbei said noticing a glow from the gourd he was holding.
"Shadow fang, please don't say anything else… And Adar, that is beside the point. Sora is still young and he's…a bit challenged when it comes to fighting like we can. It was very dangerous of him…" Katuri was saying to them still a bit upset.
"Guys…" Jinbei said again trying to get their attention.
"Katuri, I know I don't posses the teeth and claws like you guys but that doesn't mean I'm completely defenseless. I did manage to evade Toro just like you taught me…" Sora argued back feeling weak from their talk.
"Wait, so that's what Toro meant by what he said…?" "You went into his territory? Zeon and Katuri asked him suspiciously, causing Sora to feel chagrined about that.
"I-it wasn't on purpose. I was just chasing Jinbei and we accidentally stumbled…" Sora was saying to them when.
"…Guys!" Jinbei shouted out after doing a lemur call to get their attention which he did. Sora and the others looked and they noticed that gourd he was holding was slightly glowing inside.
"Sora, the gourd." Zeon said knowing what this means. Sora went and picked up the gourd from Jinbei.
"Since when do gourd fruits start to glow…? Adar asked perplexed with Katuri feeling the same, Sora lifted the top off and picked up a yellow-glowing crystal.
Then much like before a yellow luminous spirit comes out of the crystal and takes the form of a lightning bolt as everyone watches in awe. The spirit then changes shape into a velociraptor head pair, then seems to be absorbed by Katuri and Adar with their eyes lit up yellow as it passes through them. After the moment, they both shake their heads from the feeling.
"Wh-what just happened?" Katuri asked perplexed by what occurred.
"Looks like we found our next warrior, or should I say warriors." Zeon says leaving Katuri and Adar ever more confused.
"No way…! My own big brother and sister are chosen to be the next primordian's!" Sora said ecstatically while giving them both a hug.
"Wait, primordian's?" Adar said perplexed as both he and Katuri step out of Sora's hug.
"Yep, you heard right my scaley friend." Jinbei said replying to his reaction.
"What exactly is this all about?" Katuri asked.
"Exactly as it sounds, you have been chosen to be the next primordian's. Which in your case would be the primordian of lightning, though I am surprised that both of you were chosen to represent." Shadow fang said to them.
"Primordian's…us… wait, you mean like the stories that we were told as hatchlings?" Katuri said looking back at Adar as he does the same and asking the rest.
"The very same." Shadow fang stated with Katuri and Adar almost looking disbelieved.
"I know, even I couldn't believe that this was true. The feeling is very mutual." Jinbei said relating to their disbelieved looks.
"And it will be just us two?" Adar asked.
"No, Zeon was also chosen to be a primordian too. A primordian of fire." Sora said as they looked over to Zeon.
"It's true, I was chosen." Zeon said giving reassurance to them.
"I don't completely understand all of this…but if we are chosen to be the next primordian's. Then it would be a great honor to become a protector of the Sirona lands." Katuri says.
"We were both chosen, Katuri. So, if you're going to be part of this, then I am as well. As honorable raptors we will accept the position to be the primordian's of lightning." Adar states as they both accept the position.
"That is excellent to hear." Shadow fang said happy to hear this.
"More than excellent, its amazing." Sora also stated.
"We have two forces down, and another three to go." Jinbei said looking over to the gourd.
"Yes, so let's continue searching for the other primordian representatives. With luck like this, we might be able to find the others soon enough." Zeon says being hopeful to the idea.
"Alright…Then let's go and find them." Sora says as he climbs back onto Zeon's back when he lowered his body and rides him.
The group including Katuri and Adar head out into the Sirona lands. Unaware that within the nearby tree line in the shadows, Toro hadn't gone afar and was watching and listening to their word. Silently growling, he retreats and starts to walk back into the dense forest vegetation.
