Prologue: When light expired

Before the worlds were separated, they were all one together. The worlds were shined upon by the purest light, Kingdom Hearts. Unfortunately, the brighter the light, the darker the shadow will become. There are those that want to consume the light.

These creatures are known as Heartless. Born by the heart's dark desire, these monsters would act on instinct and collect the hearts of their victims. They start off as pureblood which are mostly Shadows and Neoshadows. Sometimes if a heart has so much darkness, it can create a giant pureblood heartless known as Darkside.

Then, there are Emblem heartless, dark creatures that already took hearts from their victims and used them to power themselves. The more hearts they collect, the stronger they become. They have an insignia that look like heart but with a black background within the heart with thorn cross at the center of the heart. However, what keep the darkness at bay would be the wielders of light.

These wielders are known as keyblade bearers since they wield these magical weapons known as keyblade. The keyblade not only able to vanquish the Heartless but wielders can open any lock with their keyblade, any lock, including the lock in a person's heart.

Many of the keyblade wielders formed five unions led by the Five Foretellers. The five unions are the Unicornis led by Ira, the Arguis led by Invi, the Ursus led by Aced, the Vulpeus led by Ava, and the Leopardos led by Gula.

The wielders lived working together in each union at Daybreak Town. They all travel to different worlds, defeating the Heartless and collecting light. Even though everyone was different, they each wanted to protect the light.

Unfortunately, they could not live in harmony for long, because of fear of a traitor among themselves. Their fear caused many other wielders to fight among each other, thus creating the great Keyblade War, which bring us to a lone keyblade wielder who unfortunately got caught up in this forsaken war.

At the Battlefield

It was on that day when everything fell apart. The day that every keyblade wielders had dreaded would come. Many wielders had begun to fight with each other, believing that there was a traitor among their unions.

Every keyblade wielders fought each other while wearing armors given to them by their union leaders. It was to be their protection as well as a mark that they were ready to fight in this war.

One lone wielder was standing at a safe distance, on top of a hill as the war raged on.

He wore a dark blue armor; it had a light blue downward triangle orb at the chest with a blue line underneath it; metal plates at the waist; shoulder orb pads; gauntlets with blades at the side; silver knee pads and silver footwear with markings at the front. This was his Modify Crown armor.

Right now, he was watching thousands of keyblade wielders fighting in this pointless war while questioning himself.

Nothing made sense. Why did everyone have to fight each other? Why did they believe that they were the traitors that would bring darkness to the worlds? What are they even fighting for?

Questions that came to the head of the keyblade wielder. He did not know how to make sense of all of this madness but no answer came to mind.

However, he saw the signs of the coming of the Keyblade War.

Darkness spreading even though wielders did their best to defeat the Heartless and collect light.

Union leaders fighting against each other.

Wielders accusing each other that they are the traitors that are spreading darkness.

Fighting his union leader, Master Aced, and being told not to be a keyblade wielder anymore.

Almost everyone was starting to turn on each other because of the fear of the traitor.

The only ones that he can be sure that weren't in the Keyblade War are Master Ava's Dandelions, but doubts began to form in his head when he saw Master Ava enter the fray with her union behind her.

However, with everything happening around the lone keyblade wielder, wearing the modified crown armor, there was no noise. He did not hear the clashes of keyblades or magic being cast by other wielders. Everything was silent, only the rain could be heard around the wielder.

"It's not over," he said to himself.

Those words hold meaning to him, to the fact that even with the war raging on, to the fact that darkness will prevail, he and other keyblade wielders, will survive this war and continue fighting till the last wielder. He is not going out without a fight.

He activates his armor helmet, covering his head with dark blue and black armor with a silver jaw and a combination of a star and a crown donned on the faceplate.

He rushes toward the battlefield, jumping off a cliff to enter the forsaken war once more.

Information: Survive the Keyblade War

He was running in the rainy wasteland. Many keyblade wielders fought him but he was able to overcome with a few wounds. That until he saw his union leader, Master Aced.

"So you came to this war, even when I told you were unfit to be a keyblade wielder."

The armored figure felt conflicted that he had to fight against his own union leader.

"Master Aced, please stop, you are supposed to be our union leader, to protect the light. I don't want to fight but I am willing to survive in this Keyblade War!"

Master Aced then pointed his weapon at the armored figure. "If you really want to be here, then you have to prove yourself that you are strong enough to survive this war!" He then rushed to the young wielder with an upper slash.

The armored boy blocked with his weapon before casting Zero Gravity onto himself in order to be faster than his opponent.

He then attacked his union leader with Sonic Rush but the bear-masked union master blocked all attacks before creating a shockwave, blowing away the boy away.

He quickly got up, just in time to avoid the opponent's downward slash. He then cast Homing Blizzaga to his opponent to freeze him. It works for a moment but his opponent blocks his attack yet again.

The wielder performs a Strike Raid to his master to stun, and then calls back his keyblade to perform Magic Pulse.

Master Aced, while receiving little damage from the attack, charged up his signature move, the Bear Claw.

"Don't you underestimate me!" He yelled at the young wielder while a red aura surrounded the master. He then jumped high in the air before crashing down with his keyblade. The attack was so devastating that caused the ground to break apart, creating earth spirals that sprung up.

The wielder quickly cast a barrier around himself but the spell could not fully protect him from the attack.

When the dust settled, the boy had a few broken bones, but only because he was able to cast Curaga onto himself.

"You passed," The wielder was surprised by his union leader.

"You're strong, maybe, strong enough to survive this war." He said with a small pride, knowing this wielder was in his faction.

However he frowned, "Unfortunately I cannot allow you to roam free unchecked."

Master Aced then pointed his keyblade to the armor wielder, "If I do, you will become a threat to the light."

Before he could attack, several keyblade wielders appeared behind him, intending to strike the distracted master.

Master Aced quickly blocked before using their own weight against them, throwing them at the opposite direction. He then went to that direction to fight them off.

The boy felt weak to his knees while other keyblade wielders ran to continue fighting each other.

Even though he did not agree to Master's Aced's teaching, he did respect him as a union leader and did not want him to die.

Soon a few keyblade wielders found the boy, ready to fight.

They all cast Fira; Blizzara and Watera at the boy, but the boy dodge them while casting Thundera onto them.

The enemy wielders felt the shock from the attack but they got up to slash their opponent.

The armored boy blocked them with his keyblade and then proceeded using Spiral slash on them.

The wielders felt the attack but before they could get up once more, they were attacked by three orbs of magic.

The person who cast the spell was Master Invi.

"I'm sorry you got tangled up in this…"

The armored wielder felt a pang of sadness at that statement.

"Master Invi, please stop, you're supposed to keep balance between unions. Please stop this madness.

The masked union leader could only shake her head sadly.

"It cannot be helped, but the only thing I can do…" she raised her keyblade, "…make sure this ends quickly."

She immediately sends five spirals of light toward the young wielder. The armored boy was pushed back by the attack.

He pushed himself to push himself up, just in time to avoid three plasma balls. He then cast Aeroga to blow away Master Invi's splash spell that she cast after she finished casting the three plasma balls.

The masked master felt her attack after it was rebound back to her. She then was attacked by a Strike Raid that seemed to keep moving on its own to hit its target multiple times. She then created three tornados, one with fire, one with ice, and one with electricity.

The boy quickly summoned a barrier to protect him but it gave little protection. He felt the shock of the attack and became distracted from Master Invi's next attack. The masked master turns the armored boy into a living magnet, causing all the debris to surround him.

The boy had to reverse the magnet spell to stop the debris from crushing him. He then had to perform Sonic Blade. He was able to gain solid hits but Master Invi had enough.

"You fool!"

She then performs her signature move, the Serpent Illusion. She cast Firaga, Aeroga, Blizzarga, and Thundaga, all at once.

If the keyblade wielder hadn't cast Nature's Light, he was sure that he wouldn't survive from the master's attack.

When the dust settled, the keyblade wielder was still standing with a few broken bones.

Master Invi giggled, "Aced, I did not expect that you had potential keyblade wielders in your union." She dissipated her keyblade and started walking away. "Live a good long life."

The wielder could only grasp for air after that fight. Even if Master Aced and Master
Invi had different perspectives, every wielders including them shared one common goal; protecting the light. He can only hope Master Invi survives as well.

Suddenly, he saw something that filled his heart with relief and dread.

He saw four figures, a clown-outfitted boy, the frog hat girl; a boy dressed as a Moogle, and the leader of the group, the bandana girl. Each of them was fighting for their lives while wearing their armors without helmets.

The boy knew that he had to go to his friends. He will not leave them behind while the war rages on.

He immediately blocked an attack behind him. Two other keyblade wielders tried to slash him in the behind.

The armor wielder gripped his keyblade tightly. "Get out of my way!" He cast Thundaga causing them to be stunned. He then cast Aeroga, blowing the enemies away.

The armor wielder was about to rush to his friends' aid but then he was stopped by one of the union leaders, Master Gula.

"I'm surprised you're still fighting."

The armored wielder looked at one of the union leaders and pleaded. "Master Gula, please let me pass. I don't want to fight you. All I want is to help my friends."

Master Gula looked behind him and saw four wielders desperately trying to survive the onslaught. The masked boy could only shake his head. "It won't do you any good." He then looked at the armor wielder and pointed his keyblade at him. "This is a battlefield after all, and everyone is fighting for themselves."

Master Gula began rushing the keyblade wielder with incredible speed. The wielder barely had time to block the master's keyblade. He then counters Master Gula's attack with a Fire Raid but the union leader saw the attack and dodged it.

The wielder recalled his weapon and cast Bind, chains appearing out of nowhere and wrapping around the union leader, causing the union leader to be temporarily still. This allowed the wielder to create a shockwave which hit the union leader directly.

Master Gula was dazed but quickly got up to block and push back the wielder's keyblade. He then performed Aerial blitz but the wielder cast Aeroga to blow away Gula. He then cast six mirrors to perform the Sonic Mirage. The wielder jumped on the mirror and slashed Gula to the next mirror while gaining speed on each mirror.

However, Master Gula decided to end this battle.

"Just give up already!"

He then performs his signature move, the Panther's Claw. Immediately, he vanished, leaving no trace at the battlefield.

The wielder could only blink for a moment before Master Gula appeared behind him. Then he felt pain all over his body. Multiple slashes appeared out of nowhere. However, he was able to keep himself standing by using his keyblade.

Master Gula looked at the wielder.

"I'm surprised you're still standing."

The wielder could only push himself standing up straight while looking at the union leader.

"If I'm going to have to actually put in real effort to stop this, things are getting sketchy, I'll pass." Master Gula then dismisses his keyblade and starts walking away. "Go do what you've got to do. Maybe we'll meet again somewhere." At the end of that sentence, he was gone.

The wielder could only cast Curaga onto himself to heal his wounds. Even though Master Gula was his enemy, he was still a keyblade wielder, wanting to protect the light. But now, he has to save his friends.

The wielder wasted no time running where he last saw his friends, fighting for their lives. He did not know what he and his other friends will do during or after the war. However, the one thing he did know that everything is going to be alright once they are reunited. Everything is going to-

!

When the wielder got to the place he last saw his friends, all he saw were broken armor pieces laying on the floors.

"They should be here, they should be fine." He thought desperately, trying to find ways that this isn't real, but he got slashed from behind.

Three keyblade wielders stood among the broken armor pieces. One of their keyblades was revealed to be in a downward position, revealing to be the culprit of the attack.

The lone wielder kept himself standing while angrily watching his opponents, his right fist gripping his keyblade, ready to fight these opponents. A moment had passed while everyone was standing still, then the four opponents made the first move.

The wielder could barely dodge and block all the attacks since he felt tired. Using the magic constantly began to drain him, making him more sluggish. He tried to slash his opponents but he missed, in which the enemies took advantage.

The opponents sent multiple slashes, barrage of laser and an explosion of ice.

This resulted in the wielder having his left side covered in ice. He could barely move his left arm.

The two enemies brought their keyblades down but the wielder barely blocked with his good arm. He had to end this fight quickly so he used his own weight to push back the two opponents. He then coated his weapon with Aero, creating an air slash that blasted one of the enemies off the area but the second enemy managed into plunge his keyblade to the ground to keep himself still. He then tried to stab the lone wielder but the latter was able to dodge and grab the enemy's arm. He then used his momentum to throw his opponent out of the area.

He let out a breath of relief for the moment. Now that two of the enemies are out, he can get back to-

Wait, two, shouldn't there be three?

Immediately, he was tackled behind by the third enemy and both were thrown off the area.

They kept tumbling down until they were on trench. The lone wielder felt dazed but rolled to his side to dodge the enemy's attack. The enemy wielder moved to stab but the lone wielder was faster. He stabbed his opponent and pushed him to the wall, breaking the opponent's armor helmet.

The lone wielder was gasping for air - the battle was over. However, reality started setting in when he felt something wet upon his right arm. Then, he saw something that made him feel numb.

Blood, red blood, it came from the enemy wielder's chest. It flowed downward to the keyblade and onto his right hand.

The enemy was holding onto the lone wielder's weapon while his helmet finally broke apart. The lone wielder could see very clearly the enemy's face. The look of despair and disbelief written all over the face, the gasping for air as each heartbeat began to slow down, and finally, life slowly draining out the eyes, leaving nothing but a hollow expression. Now, the fallen enemy's body was slowly consumed by the darkness while his heart appeared out of the wielder and floating up to the air.

The lone wielder came out of his shock as he dismissed his keyblade and slowly walked backwards, trying to come to terms on what he had done. As he was shaken by the experience, he felt something behind. As he turned around, he saw something that would haunt him in his nightmares.

Thousands of dead wielders, being slowly consumed by the darkness, each having the same lifeless expression as the last one. They were not moving at all, lying on top of each other with no emotion, no movement, and no life among themselves.

It was too much for him so he quickly got out of the area and ran out of the area. He ran until he felt tired and he let himself slide onto a wall.

He had to control his breathing since his heart began beating at a rapid pace.

There's no going back is there? Nothing will go back to before all of this happened. The only thing he can do is to keep moving forward.

The lone wielder clutched his right fist as he shattered the ice on his left arm. The arm felt numb while it was bleeding from the shattering. He cast Cura on it and continued walking until he saw a familiar face.

Master Ira.

The masked master turned and saw the battered wielder. "You're still fighting…?" he asked the lone wielder.

The wielder looked at his master pleadingly. "Master Ira, please stop this madness! Look around you!" He waved his arm to show the battlefield and all the hearts that were floating up in the air. "There is nothing to gain in this war. Please, you're supposed to lead us." he said to the masked master.

Master Ira's expression was unreadable, "It was not my intention to start this war, but…" He summoned his keyblade, "The only thing I can at least do is to make sure you go peacefully." At the end of the sentence, the battle began.

Master Ira dashed forward towards the wielder, with his keyblade intended to be a downward slash but the lone wielder moved to his right to dodge the attack. He then shot a Blizzara projectile at Ira who swatted it away. The lone wielder performed a Blaze Slash, but Master Ira blocked all the slashes with ease. He then sent a powerful air slash which sent the lone wielder flying.

The lone wielder tumbled a bit until he got his bearing. He used his keyblade to help him stand before seeing Master Ira's incoming attack. He barely blocked it while sliding back a bit. He struggled against the experienced wielder while barely keeping his knees from bending. Master Ira then moved his keyblade around, causing the lone wielder to lose his balance a bit, leaving an opening for Master Ira. He moved in to deliver a deadly blow but the lone wielder cast Stop on the area, allowing him to evade the attack. He then tried to slash him but the master turned around to block it. Master Ira decided that it was time to end this.

"We can't afford to lose anymore." he said in a solemnly tone. He then performed his most devastating attack, the Horn Strike, by sending six pillars of light toward their target with Master Ira delivering the final blow. The lone wielder saw this attack and created a barrier in hopes to defend himself but it wasn't enough. The six pillar of light destroyed the barrier creating an explosion. The wielder used his good arm to shield himself from the explosion but not until in the last second, he sees Master Ira in front of him as he thrust his keyblade forward. The attack sent smoke and clouds out of the area.

Master Ira stood behind the lone wielder while feeling the shock of the attack. The armor began to crack, bits by bits while his helmet had a large crack that revealed his left eye. He felt like falling to the ground but he quickly forced himself to stand up. He then turned to the masked master while holding the keyblade in attack position.

This surprised Master Ira.

"You've really grown, well done." He sighed at their situation. "It's such a shame to lose a keyblade wielder like yourself."

As they moved to attack once more, a figure moved in to attack Master Ira but he blocked the powerful attack. The lone wielder was surprised to see a familiar face.

Master Aced

"I've been waiting for this moment… Ira." Master Ira was surprised at this revelation. They both broke out before resuming their position. Master Aced looked at Master Ira with contempt. "I'll rebuild this world as its new king!"

Master Ira looked at his former right-hand man with anger. "If only you hadn't broken the harmony!" After that statement, they began their battle, leaving the lone wielder to catch his breath.

Even if Master Ira couldn't stop this, he only wanted harmony among the unions. He was the leader.

He was lost in thought until he heard footsteps coming toward him. He readied himself for a fight, only to find someone that wasn't supposed to be in the Keyblade War.

Master Ava

She looked at the lone wielder with sorrow. "So you came as well."

The lone wielder could only look concerned while he asked: "Master Ava, why are you here? Weren't the Dandelions supposed to go to other worlds, not be in this forsaken war?"

The master could only look at the confused wielder before bringing out her keyblade. "Prepare yourself." The lone wielder could only look on with surprise before bringing his keyblade out as well. The fight began once more.

The lone wielder rushes in and delivers three slashes but Master Ava dodged them. She then cast magical spheres at the wielder. He saw the attack coming and casted Reflect to send them back to her. The master could only block the attack but she still felt the hit. The wielder threw a Thunder Raid which shocked her. He then sent an air slash at her which sent her flying. He thought it was over but it was far from it.

Master Ava sent an explosion of ice which forced the wielder on the defense. She then disappeared for a moment, and then reappeared to deliver a combo onto him. This sent the wielder flying for a bit before blocking an attack by Master Ava. They both struggled, trying to overcome each other until the young master decided to end this fight. She sent the wielder sliding for a bit to perform her finishing move, the Foxtrot.

"Let the wind carry you far, far away." She created six copies of herself and all seven of them attacked simultaneously. The devastating attack left the wielder's armor cracked and his helmet completely destroyed.

He quickly plunged his keyblade to the ground to hold him up. He looked at Master Ava with sadness. "Why?" He asked her. The young master looked at the wielder with sadness as well. "There are some secrets you or any other wielders must never know." She cast Curaza onto the lone wielder, leaving him surprised. She then turned around and started walking away. "Please leave here, go with the Dandelions." At the end of the sentence, she was gone.

The lone wielder could only stare at the distance. Master Ava was one of the masters that understood the keyblade wielders. She was the one that helped the keyblade wielders to be ready when the time would come. The only thing that bothered him is why did she come to this war?

Soon he was surrounded by other wielders, each armed to the teeth. He then gripped his keyblade, ready to fight in this forsaken war.

After the fighting

Countless keyblades could be seen miles away. Each key was plunged into the ground as a makeshift grave, and among the countless keyblade was the wielder.

The wielder had on his nearly-destroyed armor. He had weapons sticking out of him courtesy of the other wielders. His left arm was just hanging useless since he could not feel it anymore. He had blood covering his right eye so it became hard to see. Large wounds were on his chest and back. However, even with all those wounds, he just kept walking. He didn't know where he was going but he just kept walking.

How long had he been fighting? How long had he been walking in this wasteland? Is there anyone left? Questions that were asked but never answered.

He felt tired after the experience and he started to slow down. Soon he couldn't walk anymore and he fell just like the rest.

"Don't move now, everything is going to okay"

He lay on his back as he watches the sky. It had been raining but suddenly stopped and came to a light that all keyblade wielders swore to protect.

Kingdom Hearts

Its radiant light was shining upon the fallen wielder as he looked up to the majestic heart-shaped moon. Then he saw two figures that were coming toward him, two very familiar figures.

"Skuld" He looked as she smiled sadly. Then other figure came into view which caused the wielder to cry.

Ephemera

He could not stop the tears from coming out of his eyes. "You broke our promise." He said in a sad tone. Ephemera could only look at him with a sad smile, tears threatening to come out. "I know." He holds out his hand. "We finally meet again, Shun" The wielder, known as, Shun could only laugh weakly at that comment. "You're late." The silver haired wielder chucked, "Sorry" Shun reached to grab hold of Ephemera's hand while he said his last sentence to his friend. "Let's go together."

However, as Shun reached to grab his friend's hand, orb of lights start to surround Ephemera and Skuld. A rather large orb appeared on Ephemera's hand and soon his friends started to fade.

This caused the wielder to panic as he watched his friends fade away. "No. No! Please, not you guys!" His friends faded and the light particles went up to the sky. "Please, don't leave me." He said in despair while reaching his hand up to the radiant light.

He couldn't hold back the tears as he felt nothing but pain and loneliness, looking at the precious light and trying to reach it to no avail. Soon, as his hand fell to the ground, he finally gave up.

Soon the darkness came to him. Shadowy hands began to drag the wielder into the pool of darkness, as the black clouds began to swallow up Kingdom Hearts. Shun did not even bother to move since he was tired. Even with the darkness slowly swallowing him up, he felt sleepy, as if he was going to bed at nighttime. He finally closed his eyes as the moon-shaped heart was completely swallowed by the dark clouds.

Now the Keyblade war has finally ended.

But the story isn't finished yet.

In the Void

Nothing but darkness could be seen by miles away. Millions of keyblade wielders appeared floating in the void with their eyes closed. Some of them begin to fade.

Shun had his eyes closed as if he was sleeping. He showed neither discomfort nor pleasure while being in the void. There was nothing anyone could do.

Nothing…

Until, a keyblade was formed in Shun's right hand. The keyblade began to shine brightly as particles of light began to form around the young wielder. Soon he became bright with his keyblade as a light that shone in the dark mist.

In a Unknown area

Thousands of orbs showing possible events could be seen as an unfamiliar figure sat on a rather comfortable chair. The figure was completely covered by black coats with belts to hold it together. The only thing to describe the figure would be that it appeared to be a female.

The mysterious figure watched a specific screen that showed what had happened to the keyblade wielder. She could only chuckle to herself as she was filled with anticipation. "Let see where this story goes."

A dark canyon with many holes (aka the Kindergarten)

On the planet Earth, there lay a canyon that had many figure-shaped holes. Among some of figure-shaped holes were large machinery with drills at the bottom and large gems on the top. The canyon was desolate and dark, making it almost inhabitable.

The key word is almost.

In the dark and lifeless canyon, there was someone who happened to live there. A small figure that was sitting on a rock. She had gray hair, was wearing some sort of body suit and she had a gem on her chest.

This was Amethyst, or at least that is the name she had learnt when she was created. She did not know what to do when she came out of one of the holes, the only thing she knew about herself is the type of gem she is.

Amethyst did not know what to do once she was created. There was no one in the canyon, she was all alone. She did not know where to go, so she stayed in this empty place. All she had been doing in this place was climbing different contraptions, sitting on different rocks or breaking the small ones. The only time she had to go to a different spot is when strange creatures would come out and try to attack her.

Amethyst was by herself and was starting to feel lonely. Granted she can get out of the canyon but this place is her home and she didn't know where to go. If only there's someone to be around.

She could only sigh sadly and look at the night sky. The good part of staying in this empty place would be the sky. When nighttime came, the sky would be illuminated with thousands of lights. Amethyst would look up at the sky to watch until the sun would come. However, this night is special.

One particular light began to shine brighter than the other. Amethyst started notice it's becoming bigger-

Wait, it wasn't getting bigger, it was getting closer!

The bright light was hurtling toward the small gem's location. The light became closer which forced Amethyst to duck and cover.

The bright light impacted the ground, creating an explosion. When it was over, a large crater could be seen. Amethyst could only look at the crater with curiosity. What was that light and what's at the crater? She wanted answers so she went to the crater and climbed down.

When Amethyst got down, she saw something peculiar. At the center of the crater lay a strange thing. It was completely covered in metal from head to toe, had twin blades for the side arms and had a somewhat star/crown shape on the upper area of the face.

The strange thing about this would be a key shaped weapon that was stuck to the ground next to the figure.

Amethyst did not know at first but it was the night her life began to change.

To be Continued

Author Notes: Hope you enjoy the chapter since more will be coming.

The timeline that I will be using for this story will be Union X, Union X Back cover, the Keyblade War, and the reveal of the new union leaders.

No seven princess plot and no Maleficent plot on how she's in Union X

In this Au, there will be some change in the Steven Universe timeline and I will explain how the wielders got their armors in a flashback but it's going to take a long time.

In my perspective, keyblade wielders are known to bend the rules into their favor. (Example: casting Gravity or Stop spells.)

I hope you enjoy this story.

May your heart be your guiding light.
