The ride home was quiet. Carlisle and Esme wanted to wait until they were home to talk things out with Christopher but judging by the way Christopher acted back at the school, they both knew it wasn't going to be easy to get him to talk. For a while now they were very worried and concerned about Christopher. Everytime they tried to get him to talk about what was wrong he would just shut them out and keep saying he was fine but they both knew he was lying to them. With how he just acted, being out of control, like that they knew they had to make Christopher talk and give him no choice now.

When they get home, Christopher salms the car door shut and tries to run inside and upstairs to his room but Carlisle and Esme weren't letting that happen again. They both run at vampire speed to block him from going up to his room to hide from them. Last thing Christopher wanted to do was hide, he wanted to grab those pills so he could stop feeling so horrible inside and not to deal with his parents being so mad at him without the help of those. Not being able to have them was affecting him in ways he didn't think it would. His parents though had other plans for him.

'Sit down on the couch right now, Christopher.'

Christopher can see that Carlisle was really upset with him but at this moment he didn't care how upset or angry they were. Getting to those pills was all he needed and wanted right now.

'I don't want to talk. I'm going to my room.'

When Christopher tries to walk past his dad and up the stairs, Carlisle grabs his arm and stops him, giving him a stern look but it didn't seem to faze Christopher.

'You are going to get into the living room and sit on that couch. Now!'

Carlisle says loudly to Christopher with a hint of anger to his voice.

'No I won't. You can't tell me what the hell to do. Let me go.'

Carlisle and Esme were really shocked to hear Christopher's attitude and how disrespectful he was being towards them right now. In the past they had some problems with his temper but he was never the type to disrespect them or anyone else for that matter. He was the calmer one of their kids and they never had to worry about problems with him but now they know how wrong they really were.

'You will not talk to your father in that way Christopher. You will do as he says.'

Christopher hears his mother's words but all he saw was getting away from them and doing what he really needed to do. Carlisle wasn't going to let him go though and Christopher knew that but all his mind was focused on was those pills and trying to forget this horrible day and how he really feels.

Christopher's mind was racing so much and he couldn't think straight anymore. All he felt right now was anger at his dad for getting in his way right now.

'Yeah right like I'm going to listen to anything you two say. I'm going to my room now.'

Christopher forcibly moves Carlisle out of his way but Carlisle was much stronger then his young son and grabs his arm and puts it behind his back and forcibly walks Christopher over to the couch and makes him sit down. Carlisle was feeling angry towards Christopher but mostly like Esme wanted to figure this out with him.

Carlisle sits across from Christopher while Esme sits beside him. When she tries to put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down, he flinches and moves a little bit away from Esme which worries her even more.

'This is not you Christopher. Your mother and I have been really patient with you and we have tried to talk to you. We have given you enough time to come to us and let us help you but you chose to let whatever is bothering you consume you and make you act out in ways you never would. Now you have no choice but to talk. Tell us right now what is wrong son.'

'Sweetie your father and I just want to help you and be there for you. We both hate to see you suffering like this.'

Esme says with sadness and desperately to her voice.

Christopher's leg starts shaking from being anxious and nervous right now. He had two of the pills he takes in his pocket but he knew it would be hard to get away from his parents right now. He rubs his pocket where they are just to know they were there for later after this was all over. All Christopher could do was shrug his shoulders at his parents. He couldn't tell them the truth.

'I don't know what's wrong. I just don't really want to talk about it all.'

Carlisle and Esme share concerned stares at each other. Carlisle rubs his hand through his hair out of frustration.

'I'm sorry Christopher, we are not giving you a choice. You will talk to us. If you still choose not to, I will have no choice but to punish you for what happened at the school since you can't explain to us what caused that outburst of anger.'

Esme almost disagrees with it but when she looks at Carlisle she can see that he was doing this to get Christopher to understand he has to talk to them and they weren't asking anymore. Christopher rolls his eyes at this and gets even more mad.

'You can't force me to talk if I don't want to. If you have to punish me and take away everything from me, that's fine. I don't really care. If I'm not ready to tell you guys everything that's going on with me then I don't have to tell you guys anything. Sorry to break it to you both.'

Carlisle and Esme didn't know what else to do at this point since it seemed like he wasn't going to tell them anything. Esme sighs in frustration and defeat right now and so does Carlisle. They decide that they have to talk in private to figure out what to do with their stubborn son right now.

'Do not move off of the couch. Your mother and I have to go into the kitchen to talk with each other. Remember we both will hear if you do leave.'

'Yeah sure whatever.'

Carlisle and Esme go into the kitchen and try to not be in earshot of Christopher while they discuss what to do with him right now.

'What are we going to do Carlisle? Nothing seems to be getting through to him right now and as much as I hate to agree with him, we cannot force what is wrong out of him. It will just make him shut down even more.'

Carlisle sits down at the kitchen table and puts his head in his hands and takes a deep breath he didn't know he was holding just to calm himself. Carlisle was feeling the anger towards his son and that was a feeling he didn't want to feel towards him.

'We never had to deal with this before so I'm unsure of what to do, Esme. Punishing him was an empty threat since we can't punish him for what he is going through, whatever that is. I'm even more concerned about him not caring what we do to him. This is not the Christopher we know.'

Esme agrees with him and sits next to her husband, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder and Carlisle squeezes her hand to comfort her back. Esme didn't notice but venom tears were falling from her eyes. Not knowing what was wrong with her young son was really upsetting her, upsetting them both.

Back in the living room, Christopher was trying to listen to what his parents were saying but all he could hear were mumbles from them which meant they weren't that close for him to be able to hear them.

Christopher knew this was his chance to get to his room. He knew his parents would be even more mad with him but something in him just didn't care anymore. Christopher bites his lip out of being nervous to keep disobeying his parents but the urges to do those pills were much stronger.

Christopher gets up off of the couch and uses his vampire speed to run up to his room and he locks the door behind him. He goes into his pocket and takes out the bag of pills he had which was 5 of them and he takes them all in one shot since he thought it wasn't going to affect him much but he was wrong on that one.

Five minutes later Carlisle and Esme go into the living room and as soon as they don't see Christopher they run vampire speed upstairs to his room. Christopher's bedroom door was locked and they both knocked to get him to open his door but there was no answer. They heard his heartbeat and slow breathing and knew he was in the room but him not answering was making them really nervous.

Carlisle uses his strength and breaks open the door and they see Christopher on the bed not awake. At first they thought he was sleeping but when they try to wake him he doesn't respond to them. Esme sees the bag on the floor with a pill left in it and knows what was going on with their son now.

'Carlisle, he took these pills. That's why he isn't waking up. This is what he is hiding from us.'

Carlisle was shocked by this but his doctor side took over and he knew he had to try to wake Christopher up.

'Pick him up and bring him into the shower. We have to get him awake right now. We have no idea what he took or how it will affect him.'

They go into the bathroom attached to Christopher's bedroom and Carlisle puts the shower on and sets it to cold and they put Christopher into it. It takes a few minutes but Christopher starts opening his eyes but the pills are still making him feel high and drowsy. He heard his dad and mom but everything was very blurry and hard to make out.

'Son, come on, keep your eyes open. You have to stay awake.'

Esme kneels down and takes a hold of his face and tries to make sure he doesn't close his eyes and get him to wake up fully.

'You have to stay awake baby. You have to open them for us sweetie. Come on, you can do it.'

After ten minutes of helping Christopher wake up fully and trying to sober him up, Carlisle helps him to his bed while Esme gets him a glass of water. Christopher is able to sober up a bit more and he comes to realize how stupid he really was to do this to himself and his family but the drugs just made his mind more of a mess then it already was.

Esme makes him drink the water while she sits next to him. She wanted nothing more but to comfort him and let him know everything was going to be okay but Esme knew that wasn't her son anymore. Esme had too many mixed feelings right now as did Carlisle too but one thing they knew was they had to figure this out with Christopher.

'Chris, are you doing okay?'

Carlisle asks him with concern in his voice and all Christopher can do is nod his head yes at his father.

'I guess all your mother and I have to ask is how long has this been going on? And I expect you to tell us the truth from this point on.'

Christopher looks down at his feet and starts playing with his hands and takes a deep breath to get some courage to tell his parents everything right now.

'Almost two months.'

'Why would you do this Chris?'

Esme asks him with sadness in her voice. She thought she knew all of her kids so well but that was proved to not be true when it came to her youngest.

'I don't know mom. I just- I just couldn't handle what was going on in my head and it helped me feel better even if it was only for a little bit.'

Carlisle wasn't surprised to hear this come out of his mouth. He has heard it before dealing with patients at the hospital before but it hit a nerve in him hearing it coming from his own son this time.

'Son, this is not the answer to what you have going on in that head of yours and we both know you know that. You are such a smart child and this.. This is not something you are supposed to turn to for your problems.'

Carlisle says with how much sternness he could with his voice. Some tears were trying to escape from Christopher's eyes but he was fighting hard not to let them escape right now. He was really great at hiding his emotions but knowing how disappointed and sad his parents were with him, it really was getting to him right now.

After a few minutes Christopher can't control his emotions anymore. He lets the tears fall.

'I'm-I'm just so s-sorry. I-I didn't think it would get this b-bad.'

Esme was getting emotional seeing how sad Christopher was. Carlisle and Esme can see the pain, hurt and sadness in Christopher that he has been trying to hide from everyone for months now. Esme knew he didn't want this but as his mother she couldn't help but try to comfort him. She wraps her arms around him and holds him tightly in her arms and surprisingly Christopher puts his arms around her and cries in his mother's arms.

'We are here sweetie. Your dad and I and even your siblings will all be here for you. We will help you get through this and we will do it together.'

'We love you son and we won't let you face this alone.'

All Christopher can do is nod at his parents in agreement. Carlisle and Esme both knew this would be a hard road ahead for them but they would be going to be there every step of the way for their son.
