Slightly AU. The events at the Nibelheim reactor happen differently for Sephiroth. Four years later a mysterious man with silver hair and mako eyes is living in the Sector 5 Slums and getting on Aerith's nerves.

"I wanted to have the day off to go." The twitch in the facial expression meant that Tseng also wanted to frown. "Absolutely not." Tseng denied Reno's request. The anger built in Reno, rising from his gut. Reno cursed. "Screw you, man." A childhood friend of Reno's died in a Turk bust on a Wall Market gang. Reno is left in the darkness as feelings of guilt and anger consume him.

Zack Lives AU. Leaving the Golden Saucer behind, the group heads to Zack's hometown of Gongaga. Where, after nearly a decade apart, he finally is able to reunite with his parents.

"Happy twentieth, Yuffie," Cloud said placing the precious orb in the young ninja's hands. A new summon, completely unknown and untested. To his utter surprise, however, she simply grinned, then threw it across her shoulder. "I'm good, thanks." The blond swordsman was dumbstruck. "...Are you feeling all right? You're not sick, are you?"

"It's like that poet said," drawled Cid. "If you want to build an airship, don't gather people and give 'em the necessary materials. Make 'em dream of the sky instead. Make them yearn for it." A daughter of the earth befriends a son of the sky. Or, the story of Aerith and Cid's friendship, from its tumultous beginning to its tragic end.
