Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto; it is owned by Masashi Kishimoto and Shonen Jump. Supergirl is owned by the CW, CBS, DC COMICS, and Warner Bros Discovery. I own nothing. I am just a humble fan.
Author's Note: Hello everyone, it has been some time. Life has become busy and drum roll please… I found a new job. It is a better one with ups and downs… but at this point, beggars cannot be choosers. I will say this, my boss is a weird dude who needs help for his own sake.
Before life gets hectic again, I have decided to write out some plot bunnies. Cloud9stories' Bleach and Avengers Crossover inspire this story. It takes place during a modified take on the events of Season 3 of Supergirl. And instead of Naruto, we have the character known as Menma. Updates will be slow as I am busy with my job, real life, and health. I am hoping this story will be short and the pairing will be single. I think a single pairing is better. If there is a demand, might add one more.
This story sees Kara reeling from losing Mon-El post-season 2 as she questions her life's purpose and what she is supposed to do with her life. And during these new events, we see the return of Menma from Road to Ninja who has regrets and decides to move forward to honor the ones he has lost. Menma and Kara will come into conflict with one another but will eventually become lovers as Kara learns to move on.
Menma also finds his redemption as Kara finds peace and closure.
The story has angst and some bitter notes but otherwise has a hopeful ending for both Uzumaki Menma and Kara Zor-El. If there is an arc or ideas you want to see, do share. Without further ado, let us begin.
Prologue- To Move Forward to a Better Tomorrow
It was bright, warm, and sunny in National City as the people in the city went outside to enjoy the weather after a long winter. Despite the joy that people felt as they were free to enjoy the warm weather, there was one person who did not share that same sentiment.
Inside a darkened loft, sat the hero of National City and one of the last survivors of a dead planet, Kara Zor-El. Arriving on Earth more than a decade ago with the sole mission of protecting her cousin, Kara was lost to the Phantom Zone and realized her cousin had all but grown up. He sent her to live with friends that had a daughter who adopted her and gave her the surname, Danvers.
Life was complicated and challenging as she was dealing with having her purpose lost and realizing that her cousin no longer needed her help. It was a transition to growing up with a new family and being almost the last of your kind. It was not easy to adjust to this new family and to hide your powers and identity. Over time, she came to accept it and forged a bond with her new sister.
However, destiny would always come calling. And after seeing her sister on the news about to die in a fiery plane crash, Kara chose to act and used her gifts to save her sister. It had opened her up to the true occupation of her sister- that she worked for a secret government agency that was tasked with protecting Earth from powerful threats that could not be handled normally.
After proving herself to her sister, her boss, and the city, Kara became accepted as National City's greatest hero and a hero to Earth. It had been a joy and a treat to work alongside her cousin. One day, she hoped she could ask him about why he chose to abandon her, but she was sure that conversation would not be easy.
Kara had fought many evils, made friends, and found love. One such individual she had befriended was Lena Luthor, the Black Sheep of the Luthor Clan. Many had warned her that the apple did not fall far from the tree. However, Kara chose to believe that Lena Luthor was a woman who wanted to leave behind a rich legacy distinct from her brother and that she truly meant well. Kara was rewarded for her faith. Lena Luthor did not disappoint at all. One day, she decided that she would share her truth with her. She did hate the fact that Supergirl had to be one way with Lena, and she could be herself with Lena. She hoped when the time came, Lena would understand and come to forgive her. She knew that forgiveness would not come easy. After all, if the roles were reversed, she might have interesting thoughts of her own.
And then there was Mon-El, the Daxamite who had wormed his way into her heart. Krypton and Daxam were once at war with each other, and needless to say, their people were not best friends. When Mon-El had come to Earth, they did not hit it off. Kara thought that Mon-El was nothing but bad news and more trouble than he was worth, not to mention a liar. Mon-El saw Kara as a glorified hypocrite and a self-righteous fool.
It had taken time for them to trust one another… and in the end, they chose to fall in love with one another and their bond grew and became strong. However, life had a habit of throwing tragic curveballs. Mon-El's mother had come searching for him to take him back… and did not enjoy the fact that his son fell in love with a Kryptonian and refused to return. A bloody war had ensured for the soul of Earth, and Mon-El had died. Her victory was pyrrhic; the Daxamites were defeated and retreated, but she had paid a terrible price.
And now, a year later, she sat in her loft, tired of feeling pain and sorrow. She had quit her job as a reporter and put all her time into being a hero. She had chosen to abandon the "human" side of her and chose to focus on the hero. That is the life she only wanted now. She was grieving and did not know how to make it stop.

"Alright, I am coming."
Kara had opened the door to her loft to see her sister come inside, a look of shock and disappointment on her face.
"You quit your job?"
Kara sighed. "I see that James has been making the rounds."
"He is worried about you, we all are. I cannot believe you quit your job just like that."
"I choose to quit the things that are unimportant to me. Besides, it was getting in the way of saving lives."
"I would so love for you to tell Cat Grant that."
Kara shrugged. "Cat left and sold the company, why can't I?"
Alex shook her head. It seems that things were getting worse now. Kara was isolating herself from the things that used to give her joy and was now putting all her time and effort into being Supergirl. It was not bad to be a hero, but Kara needed balance. All this was a knee-jerk reaction to her grief.
"Okay, I have had enough of this. I have given you space… not asking you to come to game nights or to go out. You have isolated yourself. You are alone and preventing your loved ones from helping you…"
"There was a burglary, Alex."
"There is always a burglary, Kara! This pity party of yours has gone on long enough."
Kara looked at her sister in shock. "I am sorry… my pity party?"
"Who are you really, right now? This is not my sister that I am talking to. This is not Kara Danvers. Kara is a woman of hope, brightness, love; all the things that are good right now. Kara Danvers is…"
At that moment, Kara saw red. She was tired of being a "fake" and having to hide who she truly was. Whether it was the loss of Mon-EL, or Alex annoying her, she simply placed her hands on her table and shattered it with ease. What was once a table was now simply a large pile of wood shavings as Kara walked calmly to her TV and slammed her hands through it. She tore it apart as Alex stood there, looking at her in alarm.
"I will tell you who Kara Danvers is. She Sucks right now! Kara Danvers is worthless, a coward, and weak! All Kara does is sit in her loft and cry. Why would I want to be like that scared little girl who could not even manage to protect the man she loved? So, no, I don't want to be Kara Danvers. I would rather be Kara Zor-El."
"And do you know what the worst part is, Alex? I wasted so much time with fighting Mon-El instead of trying to understand him. If only I understood this before, maybe we would have been happier much earlier.
Alex sighed. "This is terrible. You are not responsible for Mon-El's death. Please, just let me help you get over him."
Kara clenched her fist. "Excuse me?"
"T-that, that is not what I meant…"
"I know exactly what you meant Alex. Mon-El did not dump me. I sent him away and he died. I feel it. I don't want to get over the man that I love from my heart. If our roles were reversed, and Maggie was dead, you would be a wreck, you would be broken."
"I cannot be that. I will not be broken. I refuse to be. Kal told me that he could never make the choice I made. He told me that I was stronger than him and I believe it. I have to be. I am not human and I refuse to be one. I am a Kryptonian and I always will be to protect the people of this planet."
"Now, if you need anything, please tell me. However, I have no interest in game night or going out to get a bite to eat anytime soon."
Kara sat down on a chair as she looked at her reports. Alex sighed sadly. Kara was in mourning and she was grieving. She was right to mourn and grieve her loss. That was her right. However, what made heroes so relatable and great was not their powers and abilities. It was the connections they forged with humanity. It was about heroes becoming more "human". Kara needed social connections again to grow and accept her loss. And as her elder sister, she needed to make sure the younger sister knew this.
"You want to know something? Kara Zor-El is not my favorite person. Supergirl is not my favorite person. Kara Danvers, my sister, is and will always be my hero and favorite person. I cannot recognize this person in front of me. Kara Danvers will lose everything if she fails to understand this.
Alex left quietly as Kara heard the door shut close. She sighed and walked to her dresser and pulled out a photo of her and Mon-El. It was a photo of happier times. She held that photo close to her heart and curled up into a ball and sobbed. She missed the man she loved.
"I am such an idiot. I miss you Mon-El. I wonder where you are right now. Do you miss me? Do you still remember me? Did I kill you by sending you away? Where are you, Mon-El?"

Undisclosed Location- Earth-38
Deep within a cave in the middle of nowhere on Earth-38, a man lay sleeping on some sort of metal contraption as female scientists began researching and comparing notes about the sleeping, black-haired man.
A female covered in all-black clothing with her face hidden by a hood was watching all this unfold with morbid curiosity. The man's clothes were gone and he was clad in a simple loin cloth that covered his nether regions. The man was covered in numerous scars, some fresh, as the scientists took blood samples and tried to gain as much knowledge as they could about the mysterious individual who landed near their base of operations.
The mysterious figure was greatly intrigued. When they had stripped the man of his possessions, it was clear to them that the human… was no ordinary human. He was a soldier with experience. He carried strange, metallic weapons forged from a metal that did not exist in this universe. Not to mention his headband carried a strange symbol that was unrecognizable.
However, this was not the greatest cause of curiosity or concern for them. No, it was the strange seal that decorated the man's abdomen. It was made of strange markings that she could not recognize. When she tried to use her black magic to learn more information, she was pulled into the man's mind and stood face-to-face with a towering creature she had never seen before.
The creature was full of malice and rage and hate. It had unleashed its aura upon her and roared violently, pushing her out. When she had left the man's mind, she felt her hand burning and in pain. She saw that some of her flesh had been burned away. To another person, they would feel horror and fear. The Mysterious Figure instead smiled, formulating her plans and correcting them.
The Mysterious Figure was shaken out of her musings by a hooded priestess who was concerned and had questions of her own.
"This… this human, is not human. This male possesses powers that I have never seen before. Is he a Kryptonian?"
The Mysterious Figure shook her head. "Not at all. The Kryptonians of old never displayed abilities that I have seen in his mind. There is much that we still do not know. I can say with confidence that the male is indeed human… but not an ordinary human. His body contains an energy that I have never seen before. It is wild and chaotic, yet there seems to be order to it. And the creature that lies within his body, seems to be immortal. We must make use of this power for our ends. It could prove quite beneficial."
"Should we not kill this male? He could prove to be a detriment to our cause and plans. What if he and Alura's daughter meet and team up? They could ruin everything."
The Mysterious Figure laughed. "There is no possible outcome in which Alura's spawn ruins our plans. The Supergirl has grown arrogant and prideful over her defeat of a mind-controlled Kal-El. She is weak and worthless, prideful trash. Reign is more powerful than any living Kryptonian. All we have to do is wait for the vessel to come to us. And then… Alura's daughter will meet her end. I enjoy the thrill of the hunt. I just hope that Alura's daughter makes this hard. I do not desire an easy victory. Where is the fun in that?"
"And what about this male? That power of his is unstable. Could we harness this power for our own ends?"
The Mysterious Figure laughed. "Patience, my dear. All will be clear in due time. This mysterious energy will be harnessed for our ends. We will break this man, we will tame him, and we will learn his secrets. The universe is ours. No one can stand against us."
The Mysterious Figure then spoke to the priestess. "I am not perfectly sure about this… but I believe the vessel and this male may know each other."
"How, how could that be? We have never seen this man before. What is it that you know?"
"I have kept an eye on the vessel and her life that has unfolded on this planet. She has a child, a daughter. It took much effort but I found out the male who sired her. They seem to look the same in some way. However, the vessel's lover did not exhibit any strange abilities."
The Priestess then spoke. "Could this be related to the Multiverse Phenomenon? Could they be related?"
"I do not believe that to be so. They are unrelated. However, this male will prove to be of use to us. And if he turns out to be an enemy… Reign will crush him. There is no power greater than what we have set in motion. All our efforts will not be in vain. This planet is ours. And soon enough, we will spread our reach across the stars and conquer the very fabric of the Multiverse itself."
The priestess nodded as the Mysterious Figure spoke again. "Be careful with the blood samples and find the rest of the Worldkillers. Inject them with this blood and let them run free and loose when it is time for them to do so. I know where the vessel is. It will be easy to experiment on her without her even noticing. Let us see what kind of power lies in this male's blood."
The Mysterious Figure disappeared into the shadows as the scientists continued their work in peace. Little did they know that the man lying on the metal contraption heard everything they said. Little did they know who they were messing with.

Chapter End
That is the chapter everyone. Please read and review generously. I hope you all enjoy it.
This pairing in this story will be Uzumaki Menma/Kara Danvers. If you feel one more should be added, do share your reasoning.
In this story, Kara is grieving her pain and choosing to live in the past with her grief. After beating a weaker Superman, she has become arrogant and prideful. There is much for her to learn as she grows and becomes stronger than ever before.
As for Menma, he was found by the Worldkiller Priestesses on Earth-38. They are up to no good and are intent on starting a bloody war. They will not be content with simply ruling over Earth. Menma now has to deal with a new life and new challenges. His meeting with Kara Zor-El will be a fun one
I might also include a crossover event, like Crisis on Earth-X in this story, maybe.
If you have any ideas do share. Updates will be slow as I am busy now in all facets of life.
Stay safe and well wishes. See you in another update.
