After finishing up with the bank Marcus led the three back to the island via the portal to eat lunch and rest, once in the house they found Luna standing in the entryway holding a cylinder and pouting.
"You forgot to take me," she said with a sad puppy face her eyes seemed to grow larger with tears forming in them.
Sighing at the sight Marcus shook his head, "I didn't forget you, I didn't know how long it would take so I planned to take you tonight or tomorrow morning before we have to return to school,"
Luna lost her pout and tears immediately after hearing him say that before bouncing over to them and hugging each of them before running to the dining room with the group following to find today's lunch was hamburger steaks with assorted sides like mashed potatoes, fried okra, steamed broccoli, and black-eyed peas.
As they sat to eat Alice began telling them about the episodes of Star Trek Voyager that she watched and that she thought that sometimes the ship's crew seemed to be stupid about how they handled some of the situations they got themselves into.
The adults were amused at her observations and agreed to most of them if they saw the show, Rose vowed to watch the entire series and anything else that Alice liked just to be able to talk about it with the little girl.
As they had finished eating Luna bounced in her seat, Marcus watched her in amusement he knew that she wanted to see a version of her mother at least for a time, Emma could almost see the energy of the girl's excitement flowing off of her as she seemed to begin to vibrate impatiently.
Marcus stood from the table and looked at the group with a wicked smile on his lips, "How about watching a movie this time I think Pirates of the Caribbean will be a good one," he said as he started to walk out of the room only to be stopped by the missile Luna Lovegood armed with a warhead of the puppy-eyed variety.
Once he was steady from the impact he hugged the blonde waif for a moment before lifting her and throwing her over his shoulder, he marched to the door with a laughing Emma following them as the others went to find the title of the movie he mentioned, Mia already had the movie ready to go by the time they entered the sitting room.
Luna was playfully hitting his back as he walked then shrieked with excitement as he lifted from the ground and flew to the gate her little dragon joined them, it flew circles around them.
Emma was watching them with a smile on her face, the two were truly acting like a brother and his little sister whom he was spoiling, she had noticed that over the months the memories they had gained in the beginning were settling to be true memories, she was going to have to speak about this issue with Marcus if this happens every time they are on a mission she was sure that they would eventually lose their sanity with the build-up of new memories and having to leave behind friends made in the memories.
At the pedestal Marcus lay his hand on it for a second opening the portal just a day after the visit to the bank, the portal opened just outside the wards of the Lovegood home to find a woman standing there with a beautiful yet sad smile on her face, Luna at his side gave a happy squeal and ran through leaping into the woman's open arms.
The little dragon flew to land on Pandora's head just as it had done with Luna causing the humans to chuckle, Luna was now crying into her mother's chest, Emma stepped to Marcus' side and wrapped her arm around his waist as they watched the two, "Let's give them some time, there are some things only a mother can tell a daughter and this will heal some of the pain our little moon has in her heart," she said guiding Marcus to a tree to which they sat.
They sat for several hours watching Luna swing from happy to sad as she got to see her mother of sorts again, as time went on the sadness was seen less and lesser, the little dragon had gone to roost in the dirigible plum tree building a small nest from its leaves and twigs, once it was satisfied it lay there watching its master, now and then it would eat a piece of fruit from the tree.
As the sun was setting Luna gave her mother the cylinder and began to explain its purpose but Pandora shook her head while pocketing the cylinder.
"I know my sweet they will be happy, and I shall ensure that they know their siblings, their father is powerful and that will add to our families, now it is time for you and your friends to go home and live happily with your partners and give them all the love they can bear but know always no matter the world a mother always watches her children," Pandora said before leaning and kissing her forehead and hugging the girl before releasing her and gently pushing her to Marcus and Emma.
The tiny dragon seeing that its human was leaving grabbed the nest in its four claws and flew with it to the larger version of its human and deposited the nest on her head before joining the others as a portal opened leading to the island.
"Oh my goodness," Pandora said after lifting the nest from her head and looking to find four small eggs in the nest.
Marcus hearing her exclamation turned from the portal to see the nest and eggs, he tapped his watch after guessing the feather dragon wanted to leave the eggs for his and Luna's children, " Mia do we have any documents for raising feather dragons?" he asked the A.I
"Yes Sir, there is a book that was added to the library on the species would you like me to have a copy made and sent to you?" Mia responded.
"Please and thank you, Sir?" he ask at the new title Mia addressed him with.
"Right away Scarlett will have it at the gate in a few minutes, Miss Hermione seems more comfortable with this form of address rather than master and mistress so I and the others have decided to use it to ease her mind," Mia informed him to the amusement of Emma at the length the A.I. and maids are going to comfort one person.
As they waited for Scarlett to bring the documentation Marcus went and looked over the eggs each was about the size of a robins egg, and each was a variation of the color blue.
Emma and Luna were cooing over the eggs picturing the hatchlings once they hatched while Marcus was rubbing the bridge of his nose thinking of how these little creatures could have some effect on the world some good and others not so good.
Scarlett could be seen driving the car to the gate afterva few minutes she pulled to a stop and got out of the vehicle to approach the portal, stepping through she held a small book out to Marcus.
Taking the book he read it theough noting that the species was asexual and if bound as a familiar they shared the same life span as their bonde and a wild will live up to thirty years old.
Satisfied he held the book out to Pandora, " If you register them do it through the I.C.W not the British ministry that way Britain's laws are trumped and if the ministry tries to make you hand them over the I.C.W can step in and sanction who ever tried, " he said as she takes the book with a beaming smile.
"I'll be sure to do that, and thank you for the grandchildren you have helped to give me and when the time is right I'll take them to live with their brothers and sisters," she said with a dreamy smile reminiscent of Lunas.
"Lovegoods," was all he could say as he stepped through the portal with the others following him, he was sure none had told her of the other children to be born in the years to come.
Luna turned to wave goodbye as the portal closed receiving a wave in return, as Pandora watched her daughter from another world and her friends leave she looked to the eggs before returning to the house to prepare for the future, taking the cylinder from her pocket and reading the instructions on the side she set it to implant all four embryos in her womb at the same time, laying on the couch she then inserted the device between her legs as tears fell from her eyes knowing her future would know the brightness she once had with her son after her husband died on a hunt for one of his fantastical creatures.
After the portal closed Luna turned and began skipping to the house ignoring the car as Scarlett and Emma got into it, Marcus flew behind the skipping girl waving the car and its passengers on, when suddenly Luna missed a step and face-planted.
Concerned he flew to her side to help her up he had to hide a grin as he found a red mark on her forehead, "Are you alright?" he asked as he healed her head.
"Mother just used the cylinder and implemented all four but what threw me off was she inserted it into her womanly region instead of laying it over her womb, the instructions only said to place it near the womb we thought it would be taken as layover not into, " Luna said brushing herself off.
"Lovegoods," was all he could say after hearing what Luna had to say.
Luna ignored the man as she looked around, "Where did Bluebell get off to," she asked looking for the feathered dragon.
"You named it Bluebell?" he asks joining her in searching, he finds it sitting on the pedestal of the gate with two more feathered dragons flying in circles above it eggs held in each of their claws, four times the gate flashed and the two with eggs would enter then return each time each held one less egg until they had none.
After the last time, they returned Luna was jumping and clapping her hands excitedly before running to pluck Bluebell from the pedestal and hugging it while spinning in circles around the pedestal.
When she stopped and returned to his side Bluebell was now on top of her head gripping her blonde locks as she skipped to him, "They gave each an egg to be a familiar," she said in a sing-song voice.
Marcus looked at the little dragon shaking his head guessing that the little thing took on some of Luna's abilities after bonding with her.
"That's fine but how did it work the portal's not supposed to work for anyone other than myself Emma and the maids, " he said still looking at the dragon.
Luna shrugged, "Maybe the device allowed it considering that Bluebell was sending companions to the children," she said before turning to skip to the house.
Marcus watched her go for a few seconds before floating after her, entering the house he could smell dinner and heard the others in the dining room chatting, joining them he found Luna whispering to Rose and Hermione who were both smiling and petting a purring Bleubell.
Sitting in his place he found a plate of roast and potatoes set before him.
"Alfred is trying something new tonight, the roast is from a normal wild dragon from one of the magical farms that died from old age, Jessup harvested the body and sent the meat to the house," Scarlett said placing a glass of sweet tea down as she spoke.
The others who were enjoying the meal looked up at the maid and then at their plates before returning to eating, dragon meat was expensive in both worlds so none had the pleasure of trying the excellent-tasting food.
"Hmmm have him try other meals using the meat from time to time but not every meal or we will be spoiled on normal meals in times we are unable to return to the island," Marcus said after thinking about the meat, while the rest would want this flavorful meat in every meal but understood his reasoning.
After enjoying the meal Rose, Hermione, and Alice drug the rest to the sitting room to finish the Pirates of the Caribbean series and were disappointed with the last movie, they wouldn't have destroyed the trident but rather escaped to dry land and figured out how to remove the curses and left the laws of the sea under its rule.
"Wait what happened to Calypso or the other water deities, the trident shouldn't have been the only artifact like that and for the region being in Calypso's domain it shouldn't be what held all of their curses," Hermione said after analyzing the movies in her mind.
"That's Disney for you, it was twenty-twenty-three in my home world before I came here they started the Marvel-verse out well before trying to tie everything together it all went well until they started using multiversal travel and time travel in a series focused on Loki by the time I came here it seemed like Disney was trying to say 'Hey we messed up let's make a series that saying all we put out before was for nothing.', " Marcus said then taking a sip of tea.
"When it comes to a standalone movie they do well but after a few clustered movies they are like several people wrote each scene and nobody cleaned up the script," he finished while the others were looking at him as he ranted.
Emma only knew of a few Marvel movies so had no reference to what he was talking about, Alice and the others had no clue what he was talking about but saw that he was not happy with what happened in the movies.
"Sir we have a full library of movies and TV shows from the year you are from going back to the earliest films I can call up a list if you wish," Mia said breaking the silence.
Emma sat up straight after hearing Mia speak, "When did that happen?" she asked while looking at the shelves of DVDs she and Cameron collected.
"They came with the house, neither you nor Cameron asked about it, and at the time you only watched a few movies until Alice joined us and then you three watched anime.," Mia responded
Marcus looked shocked hearing that they had so many movies and shows then he thought of a show he only saw a few bits of online, " Mrs Browns Boys?" he asked getting a sigh and groan from Emma who saw a few episodes herself confusing the rest.
"Yes sir," Mia said bringing up the list of all the episodes of the sitcom.
Marcus laughed at Emma's reaction before telling Mia to close the list, he may watch the show some other time he just wanted to see if even it was there.
Alice bounced over to the wall the TV hung from asking Mia to show her a list of cartoons, eyes grew wide as a list of thousands of cartoons came up, "No TV after bedtime in your room," Emma said knowing Alice would stay up all night if she could watching TV.
Alice turned her puppy eyes on Marcus to countermand Emma but was shocked to find Emma blocking him by standing between the two, "We love you dearly but you need to get to sleep at night, Friday and Saturday nights are fine but during school nights you must get a good nights rest," Emma said hands on her hips foot tapping.
Alice added a pouted lower lip and crocodile tears but Emma didn't back down until Alice gave up and hung her head, Marcus was amazed by Emma withstanding that when he fell against every time it was turned on him.
"Now it is time for bed as it is Saturday you may watch TV in your room tonight but be warned you will have to be up with the rest of us at breakfast, we have to be back at the school before dinner tomorrow night," Emma finished as she pulled Marcus from his seat and led him to bed their clothing changing to their night clothes as Emma pushed him into bed and claimed her pillow also known as his chest falling to sleep within minutes.
The morning came with the sunlight coming into the room and hitting Marcus in the eyes, turning his head to avoid the sunlight causing Emma to wake up she shook him until he sat as well and let her pull him into the bathroom for a shower.
When they joined the others they found Rose and Hermione bright-eyed while both Alice and Luna had bags under their eyes and looked close to falling face-first into their breakfast of American biscuits and gravy, "You see why I said no late-night TV now? " Emma asked the two.
Alice grumbled something that sounded like yes while Luna nodded almost dropping into her food again.
Emma took some pity on Alice and wrapped an arm around her to hold her up while Hermione did the same for Luna sitting next to her.
As they ate the two youngsters had to be prodded to eat several times as they wanted to sleep more, it was entertaining to Marcus who vaguely remembered this happening from his past.
It was as they were leaving the dining room and heading to the library to set up a schedule for Rose and Hermione to study that Hermione asked something that had been on her mind since the bank, "That silvery metal you had yesterday, why did the goblin pay so much for it?" she asked with a tilt of her head.
"Mithril is the most important part of making goblin silver, each bar will be cut into ten parts and added to steel or other metals to forge weapons or armor, the process of making the metal in the world you come from is expensive and takes the goblins a year to make even an ounce, my farm produces around five hundred pounds a day under time dilation so the ton they bought won't hurt our stocks," Marcus said causing Hermione to stop and stare at him her mind scarcely processing the new information she just gained.
Rose took Hermione by the arm and led her to a table as Marcus took four blank books from the shelf and lay three on the table in front of Rose, Emma, and Alice keeping one for himself then he looked at Luna in apology, "I'm sorry little moon, as I told Sirius these books can not and will not be able to pass the portal," he said before leaning to kiss the girl on the forehead.
Luna who was more aware after the meal smiled up at him after he kissed her forehead, "It is okay once Harry frees the white light fairies I'll gain access to knowledge that is equal to a portion of your library," she said her eyes shining with a silver light.
The others had finished binding to the books and flipping pages gapping at the list of subjects that the library held Emma even found a copy of Nicholas Flamel's alchemy grimoire that was not protected by magic outside that of the library when she found the formula to create the philosophers stone she almost lost her breakfast, it's main ingredient was the lives, magic and souls of a thousand virgins.
Seeing the horror on Emma's face Marcus stepped to look over her shoulder and saw that she had opened his book that had become a master book for the library he found the same one she had and laying his hand over the page he willed the page in all of the books to become locked to all of them even himself as no one should waste the lives, magic, and souls of one person let alone a thousand, Emma jumped when the page went blank and looked up to see him closing his book, "If you find anything else like that let me know and I will do the same," he whispered to her.
After a moment to regain his composure he coughed to gain the attention of the others.
"Alright now you two will need to finish your studies on magic but I also think you should study the mundane subjects, especially engineering and sciences, the more you know on both sides of studies the better you can work with the abilities I'll be able to share with you after the babies are born.," he said while writing out a list for them to choose from to begin with.
"Now I also know of your want-to-know everything but I will limit your time in the classroom, you will need to spend time with the family and I will tell you that as long as you stay with us you will be ageless so take your time, and be the sister, mother, and lover we want you to be," he said looking at Hermione pointing to himself Emma and Alice at the word sister and her stomach at mother and finally Rose on a lover.
Hermione at first was shocked and a little angry when he told her he would limit her time in the classroom, but then her eyes filled with tears at him claiming her as family, she cradled her stomach as Rose hugged her and kissed her tenderly.
Once Hermione calmed down she nodded to Marcus to let him know he could finish.
"The room will use holographic projections as your teacher and censors to aid in your magic training as for potions those classes will have to wait until the children are no longer on the breast as some of the brewing is harmful to the unborn," Marcus let them know.
Emma held up her book, " Marcus already told you that these are connected to the library, use them to research for your classes, we have at least a year and a half until we are finished with the mission, so you can take your time to learn, with the classrooms aid in learning you two could make mastery in a few subjects, just do not try the animagus transformation until the babies are here," she said giving them a stern look when she gets to the animagus part.
While Emma was speaking to the two Marcus was showing Alice the child-safe books, it was while looking over the copy of the Harry Potter books and seeing The Deathly Hallows something hit him, turning fast enough to make him stumble, "Hermione what about your parents?" he asked as he turned.
Hermione hung her head shaking it rapidly, "Devout Catholic and while they allowed me to go to Hogwarts it was only so that I could control my magic, I overheard them talking about forcing me to vow never to use magic after finishing school, I was already seventeen so magic saw me as an adult so I was not forced to remain living with them so I erased myself from their memory and packed everything I owned then ran to help Rose," she said tears falling down her cheeks.
"And Crookshanks, What about him?" Emma asked which confused the two.
Marcus seeing the confusion explained that he was the pet cat that came from a shoo in Diogan Alley, "No they never let me get a pet, especially a magical one," Hermione told them.
Rose spoke up next with sadness in her voice, "Hedwig took an AK for me on my seventh birthday when the wards around my aunt's home fell."
Luna had been reading from a book Alice brought up it was the third Harry Potter book when she looked at Bluebell who seemed to be reading as well, the little dragon gave a happy cry before flying out of the room.
After a few moments of silence, the group returned to speaking about classes and making schedules for the two that would remain at the house while the other four returned to Hogwarts
Once the schedule was set they went into the classroom to find a copy of Minerva projected behind the desk, Rose and Hermione were at first shocked by this but got over it fast as Marcus handed over the paper that the schedule was written on.
"Hermione is limited to a normal day for classes and study time in the library, if she tries to go over that time you are authorized to lock out her book and entrance to the classroom as you see fit," he said as the hologram read over the schedule.
"Yes Sir," the hologram replied.
Hermione was already pulling Rose to the desk right in front of the teacher's desk, Marcus, Emma, Luna, and Alice left the two to begin a class knowing that the familiarity of the class setting would help them settle in a bit more, "Just remember to eat outside the classroom and library," Marcus called over his shoulder to the amusement of all but Hermione.
As they were leaving the room three blurs flew passed their heads, from inside the classroom they heard squealing of happiness until the door closed as Bluebell landed on Luna's head.
Marcus led the group through the house and outside where he lifted Luna and flew to the gate Emma and Alice following.
"We need to get you and Bluebell to the I.C.W to register it as a discovery and give them the documents we have on the spices, by the time we get back to the school nobody can do or say anything about your new pet," he said as he opened a portal to Geneva Switzerland near the I.C.W headquarters.
Entering the building and following the signs to the registration office of Creatures, they had to wait for almost an hour before being seen by a clerk, which led to several hours of people examining both Bluebell and the documents, when the people found that the Feathered Dragons were like the phoenix they choose who they bond with and have a healing ability similar to the tears of the mythical birds.
Once the people who were in charge of the registration office finished with their work they gave Luna the parchment work to register Bluebell as her familiar, Luna was so excited to be finishing the work that it took several tries to get her to sign where she needed to.
After getting the excitable teen to finish, it was time for lunch, being in Switzerland the group went to a local restaurant on the magical side and ate something that resembled curry that Luna recommended, saying that she and her father had eaten it once during their annual camping trips to find some creature or another.
After they ate it was close to time to return to school, from a hidden place Marcus opened a portal back to the island first so Luna could get the clothes she wore when coming to the island.
Marcus looked in on The two in class while Hermione looked like she felt she was in heaven Rose did her work and studying but looked like she was bearly keeping up, "Give it some time and the room will soon aid you in learning, it will take a few days for it to attune itself to you and not give you headaches," he told the girl who seems to want to leave the room.
Rose nodded a few times as Hermione was focused on the lecture the Minerva hologram was giving the two.
Returning to the sitting room he found the others ready to go, Luna was holding a new backpack holding her clothes plus some new clothing as well, shaking his head he led them back outside and to the gate which he opened to just outside the Hogwarts wards out of sight of anyone.
Walking to the gates to the school and passing through them they found Hagrid coming up from his hut as it was still lunch time here, when the friendly half giant got close enough he spotted Bluebell he nearly ran to them before scooping up the tiny witch with a dragon on her head.
"It's a beautiful little thing, where did you find such a wonderful looking critter?" he asks excitedly turning the teen in his hands getting a better look at Bluebell.
"This is Bluebell, she is a feathered dragon, we found her when Marcus took us to visit some relatives, she took a liking to me we did some checking and after scans and writing it down we registered her and her kind at the I.C.W," Lunba happily told the big man while holding up the booklet on feathered dragons.
Gently Hagrid set Luna back to the ground took the booklet and began reading as the group resumed walking to the castle, Luna guiding Hagrid by holding his coat and pulling it one way or another, it was comical in hindsight to see such a large man being led around by the small girl, somehow Colin Creevy managed to get a picture capturing the moment, copies of that picture hang on the office wall of professor Flitwick until the day he retired and Hagrids hut.
Every time a new student visited and saw the picture Hagrid would smile and blush although, with his long facial hair, it was hard to notice then tell the story of how she gave him a book on a new creature that he could not wait to read.
The group was met at the entry doors of the school by the headmaster who did not look happy to have had students leave without informing him directly.
"Mr. Phoenix Ms. Watson you can not take students away from the school without my permission you each are to serve detention with Professor Snape for the next two weeks and your Hogsmeade privileges are revoked for the remainder of the year," the old wizard said giving them his patented disappointed expression.
Just as he finished speaking Flitwick came up to them anger showing on his face at the headmaster but unable to do anything to the man as he was the headmaster.
"Very well headmaster, then I withdraw from this school as do my wife Mrs. Phoenix, and our wards Alice Maresato and Luna Lovegood," as Marcus spoke the trunks of the four students appeared at their feet.
Not giving the stunned old man time to respond they all picked up the trunks and turned to leave an equally stunned charms professor and groundskeeper to watch them exit the gates and aparate away before turning to find Minerva McGonagall berating the old man for overstepping his authority.
Appearing at the Rookery the group walked up the path leading to the rook-shaped house, when they got to the door it opened to reveal Xenophilious Lovegood dressed in a robe that looked like it fell through a pastel rainbow, it was almost painful to look at.
"My little moonbeam is it already Yule?" the cross-eyed man asked distractedly as if he was not fully aware of the world.
"No Daddy I went with my friends to visit some sick family over the weekend and the headmaster did not like that we left without having his permission, he tried to punish my friends instead of taking the punishment we withdrew from the school but it will be fine in a few days," Luna told her father who nodded with a vacant face.
"Oh, that's fine then, are your friends going to be staying until you go back to school?" Xeno asks as if Luna leaving school was nothing to worry about.
"No Daddy they are going to go visit the family while I stay here for a few days until we go back to school," Luna said bouncing over and hugging her father as Bluebell flew from her head to fly circles around the two.
"That's nice moonbeam and what a lovely creature is it related to the Crumple Horned Snorkak or is it the Nargels ohh or maybe it's a new mysterious creature even our readers have not seen or reported about," Xeno rambled on for a few minutes about what Bluebell could be related to while hugging his daughter and looking over the little dragon.
Marcus and Emma had met Xeno before so they were used to his eccentricities but for Alice, this was a first and she did not know what to say or do.
"We will keep in touch with you and let you know how the girls are doing, I think Alfred said something about having too much food in stasis would you like me to send you some of the overflow?" Marcus asks to get Luna's attention.
The little blonde nodded from her father's embrace mouthing her thanks, while her father was a great man his cooking senses were lacking.
She broke the hug for a moment to hug her friends before returning to her father as they turned to leave with their trunks floating behind them.
The first stop they made was to the Daily Prophet to give Reeta another interview about how the group had to visit some distant family who was hurt by dark magic users Marcus was the closest family they had so he was needed to oversee treatments and after returning to the school the headmaster was waiting and gave Marcus and Emma unfair detentions and taking away their Hogamead visits for the rest of the year just because they left without letting the man know which he had no right to as they were adults and Alice and Luna were with them as wards and Luna's father had made them her inlocoparentus, they also added the part where the headmaster refuses to use Emma proper last name.
After that, they went home to the island to find Hermione and Rose sitting down for dinner, Marcus let Emma explain to the two why they were back, and both girls were stunned at Dumbledor's actions.
Scarlett entered the room a few minutes after Mia informed the maids and Alfred of the group returning home.
"Tell Alfred to prepare meals and put them in stasis you can take them to Luna tonight, but first take her and her father some dinner, the portal will take you outside their wards," Marcus told Scarlett as she set a plate in front of him.
"Yes Sir, I will have it done," Scarlett replied before returning to the kitchen to do as ordered, a few minutes later she left the kitchen carrying two boxes of food.
Alfred entered the dining room to inquire about the menue to send to the Lovegood home and the amount as well.
After giving a list of food to have sent he ate his meal which was chicken tortellini, the conversation around the table revolved around how much Hermione loved the classroom.
