Really not happy with how this turned out, May come back and work on this later. But i thought I should put their first training session chapter after there first meeting. By the way the stories arent going to be chronological i'll probably be doing different time lines and such. Don't know if i'll do any AU's or anything like that. Still trying to figure out a better name.

When Ur first woke up she looked blearily at the empty spot next to her, it took about 2 seconds for her to remember the little guest last night and immediately shot up from bed looking around the bedroom not seeing anyone. Heading out of the room in immediate panic only to find in the living room near her shelf of books sat the new guest cross legged on the floor with a book on his lap. Ur sighed putting a hand to her chest at the mini heart attack she just had. She glanced at the book seeing the title Basics of Ice Magic For beginners.

Well she couldn't say her student wasn't determined but she was slightly surprised to find he could read and quite well too if the way his eyes were skimming the pages were any indication. While the book wasn't overly complex normally a child wouldn't be very interested in reading it either. With a smile she walked over and put her hand on his head. "Morning Lyon." She said.

Lyon looked up blinking in surprise before smiling back. "Morning Master Ur!"

Wow he adapted to calling her master pretty quickly. She chuckled and ruffled his hair "Let's just stick to Ur outside of training I cleaned your clothes last night they're sitting on the couch why don't you go get dressed while I make breakfast." She suggested.

Lyon nodded and closed the book he was already quite a few chapters into. "How long have you been up?" Ur asked curiously.

"...umm I don't know you don't have a clock in your room." Lyon said.

Very true fact, she had put away her alarm clock in lack of needing it and hadn't bothered putting a clock up in her room. She pointed to the clock in the living room, guessing he hadn't noticed it. "Well i never thought of my lack of clocks in the house before but I usually use that one."

Lyon looked at the clock reading 9 am and nodded and went to grab his clothes. "Oh where's your bathroom?" He asked.

Wow the kid had the house to himself for who knows how long and he didn't think to explore or try to climb into the most dangerous place possible like most children she met, not including her own daughter. "Last door at the end of the hall right after the room we slept in." Ur explained and Lyon nodded hurrying down to it.

She supposed after breakfast she should show Lyon around, it was a small house but she didn't exactly want Lyon to go into her daughters room for certain reasons. Shaking her head of those thoughts she went to make breakfast for her new student.

Lyon was devouring breakfast like a starving man and Ur looked at him worried "Slow down Lyon your foods not going anywhere."

Looking up while swallowing his food a bit of egg on the corner of his mouth, he said "Sorry Ur." And started to eat more slowly.

Ur reached forward and used her thumb to wipe the egg from his cheek saying. "When was the last time you ate Lyon?"

Thinking about how skinny the boy was she was starting to worry maybe she should have given him something to eat last night other than milk and honey. He was a growing boy, he needed all the nutrients he could get. "Ummm…yesterday morning, the nii-san that gave me a ride to the mountain gave me some food." Lyon explained before taking a sip of his juice.

Geesh no wonder the kid was hungry. She better give him plenty of snacks today.

"So when are we going to start training?" Lyon asked, looking at her hopefully.

Honestly Ur was going to wait until she was sure she was recovered from almost freezing to death yesterday. But obviously no point in that since the kid had enough energy to bounce off the walls. "I was thinking today but my training is going to be tough." She warned.

That seemed to excite the young boy more and she held back a laugh not much scared this kid that was for sure. "Let's finish eating first though." She said and he continued his meal with a gusto.

After breakfast Ur decided to give Lyon a brief tour of the house, other then the other two rooms they saw there was a room for taking baths and a closet where she kept some supplies. When they stopped at the final room Ur knelt down to Lyon and said "Please never go into this room without my permission it belongs to someone important to me." She explained.

Lyon blinked at her looking at the room and said "Your daughters?"

Ur stared at Lyon, absolutely certain she had never mentioned she had a child let alone a daughter, all of her daughters clothes, toys and pictures had been packed up and put in the room so how could he possibly know that? Lyon seemed to notice her surprise reaction and he said "The guys at the guild mentioned you had a daughter that died so i figured…." He trailed off looking to the side.

The fact her daughter's death was literally being gossiped about at bars did not make her happy but she wouldn't show that anger to Lyon he was just saying back what he was told. She ruffled his hair "Anyways thats it for our tour lets go training go get your boots on."

Lyon nodded and headed to the door Ur looked at the closed door of her daughters room before turning away with a sigh.

Ur led Lyon a good distance away from the cabin the boy looked around curiously wondering what they were going to do. When Ur said "Okay this should be a good place to start." Lyon turned to look at her he turned bright red to see his teacher in nothing but her underwear!

"Wh….wha…." Lyon said.

"To control the cold you first need to feel the cold you strip too." Ur said.

Lyon blinked uncertainly, but stripped from his clothes immediately shivering as he got down to his boxers.

"Now we're going to run." Ur said and began running "Follow me!"

Lyon immediately followed stumbling at first being bare foot in the snow but followed his new master through the snow covered paths running through the forest and coming out by a frozen lake. He saw weird creatures that looked like mixtures of moose and elk but he couldnt catch his breath enough to ask about them. They looped around the lake Ur making sure to glance back at her student to make sure he wasn't falling behind or getting to tired but he was determined he didn't whine or ask for breaks.

When they had been running for about 20-30 minutes Ur issued a stop and Lyon stood there gasping trying to catch his breath in the bitter cold and the mountains altitude sweat covering him. "I'm impressed I didn't think you'd be able to keep in pace for your first time." Ur said.

"Why…are….we….doing….this." Lyon said between breaths.

"Like I said , to control the cold you need to feel it. When a user uses ice magic there body will be having to produce ice the magic will affect the body temperature so people who aren't used to ice it can cause damage to the bodies, so first thing you need to do is to adapt to the cold." Ur explained. "Do you know what etharno is?" She asked.

"It's….another word for magic right?" Lyon asked.

"Close but not quite etharno's the molecules in magic but you won't just find it in mages, normal humans, animals, plants even the very air itself has etharno. It adapts to its environment and changes to suit it. You have etharno but it hasn't adapted to any sort of outside changes, so were trying to get it to adapt to the cold. Yesterday you actually started it, its thanks to the etharno and the magic in your body that you didn't freeze to death you know." Ur explained.

"Really?" Lyon asked.

"Yes, though it was still incredibly dangerous for a young boy like you to do." Ur scolded.

"Hey I'm not young, I'm 8!" Lyon protested.

"Lyon you're not even tall enough to reach the counter you're still young." Ur said trying to keep the surprise off her face the kid was so small she thought he was 6 or 7. Definitely needed to feed him alot.

"Well you all rested?" Ur asked.

"Yes!" Lyon said determined.

"Lets keep running." Ur said and started running back to where they had put there clothes her new apprentice following her.

So that was me making up how magic Etherno worked, based off many fics I've read and don't know who I would be able to credit that too so any complaints please let me know. So another reason i'm working on this that someone that reviewed on AO3 made me realize is I hope this encourages other people to write Lyon themed fics because honestly I love reading them more than writing them cause I'm lazy XD.

Anyways RnR if you liked it an suggestions are also welcome!
