After the massive success of the 1st Annual Hunger Games, a year after Ariane's victory the Games were brought back. This year a Head Gamemaker was appointed; their name was Renee Whitlock. This year also introduced a sponsoring system. Capitolites and rich District citizens were allowed to sponsor their favorite tributes supplies of their choice. This year's arena was an island with an active volcano ready to blow at the command of Renee.

The Games:

The tributes are taken to the pod room where they get into their custom arena uniform and rise up into the arena. Water was in front of the cornucopia, meaning tributes must swim in order to retrieve supplies. After the holographic countdown hits 0, a gong goes off signaling the start of the 2nd Annual Hunger Games.

Due to being from District Four, both Shad and Millie were the first to swim to the cornucopia. Both grabbed the two tridents presented there. The third tribute to arrive was Bristol, who Shad easily threw his trident at. It sank into his skull.

24th: Bristol Freyda (D12), Trident thrown into skull by Shad (D4)

Most of the remaining tributes made it to the cornucopia after Shad killed Bristol, but by then Millie, Shad, and Hyde were there and took out three tributes.

23rd: Ace Ambitio (D3), Trident thrown into back by Millie (D4)

22nd: Marty Curling (D11), Trident thrown into chest by Shad (D4)

21st: Mechia Wheeler (D5), Stabbed by Hyde (D10)

Tributes began looting the cornucopia, trying to avoid being slaughtered at all costs. Many tributes by now had already fled or were beginning to flee. However, Radiance saw Kirva try to escape so she threw her throwing knife into her face.

20th: Kirva Jason (D6), Knife thrown into face by Radiance (D1)

The bloodbath of the 2nd Annual Hunger Games had officially ended. This year's bloodbath was relatively short compared to the 1st Hunger Games with only five deaths taking place.

The rest of day 1 like in the 1st games went without any deaths.

Early in the morning of day 2, the careers came across sleeping Martin. Shad offered Alanis her first kill and she viciously agreed, plunging her sword into the sleeping boy.

19th: Martin Elmer (D6), Sword plunged into heart by Alanis (D2)

Later that night, Amber was near the waterfall. She unfortunately didn't pay attention and slipped on a wet rock, falling down and hitting her head on a rock below. This killed the girl instantly.

18th: Amber Whitney (D7), Slipped and smacked head on rock

On Day 3, the alliance between Arlo and Brooke started to break apart. The two got into a physical fight, ending with Brooke killing Arlo with her ax.

17th: Arlo Amoris (D7), Stabbed with ax by Brooke (D12)

No more deaths occurred that day.

On day 4, Harvey was attacked by a blood thirsty anaconda mutt. The anaconda tortured Harvey for several minutes before swallowing him whole. Later that afternoon, Tesla was chased by Shad and Millie, ending with Shad killing the girl.

16th: Harvey Kimmel (D9), Eaten by anaconda mutt

15th: Tesla Quinn (D5), Stabbed with trident by Shad (D4)

On Day 5, Bobbie attacked the grieving Sunnoria, but Sunnoria was able to use her strength to kill Bobbie with her knife.

14th: Bobbie Vernus (D8), Stabbed by Sunnoria (D9)

On Day 6, Hyde decided to attempt to kill some of the careers. He went to their camp at the cornucopia and got into a fight with Lux and Alanis, who both were watching out for tributes while Radiance, Kyle, Shad and Millie hunted for tributes. After a heart racing fight, Hyde stabbed Lux in his abdomen, while Hyde took Lux's crossbow and shot Alanis in the head with one of his remaining bolts.

13th: Lux Michaels (D1), Stabbed by Hyde (D10)

12th: Alanis Craig (D2), Crossbow bolt shot into head by Hyde (D10)

Angered by Hyde's actions when Shad and the remaining alliance returned, the careers hunted down Hyde's partner and ally, Susan, and killed her.

11th: Susan Nox (D10), Stabbed with trident by Shad (D4)

Three days went by without deaths, so Renee Whitlock had the volcano erupt a bit of lava. The lava reached both Kyle and Chip, killing them with immense pain.

10th: Kyle Aegis (D2), Died from lava

9th: Chip Futura (D3), Died from lava.

On day 10, Millie and Radiance found Winter and Polly. They attacked them, killing both of them quickly.

8th: Winter Springs (D11), Stabbed by Millie (D4)

7th: Polly Dressal (D8), Stabbed by Radiance (D1)

On day 11, the remaining tributes were called for the first ever feast, where new items were brought to the cornucopia to help them. Hyde was the first to arrive and Shad and Millie jumped him. Hyde, who already had a crossbow bolt set, fired it towards Millie's chest. Enraged at Hyde for killing his district partner, Shad threw his trident into Hyde's eyes. Radiance congratulated Shad, but to her surprise Shad turned around and stabbed her in the throat with his trident after pulling it out of Hyde's skull.

6th: Millie Brooks (D4), Crossbow bolt fired into chest by Hyde (D10)

5th: Hyde Wylda (D10), Trident thrown into eyes by Shad (D4)

4th: Radiance Silke (D1), Stabbed in throat by Shad (D4)

Minutes after Radiance's death the remaining tributes were called for the finale. This makes the first finale to have three tributes. When the tributes arrived, the volcano erupted. Lava began surrounding the cornucopia, forcing the tributes to climb the cornucopia in order to not be killed. Sunnoria saw Brooke struggling to climb, so she kicked her off causing her to land into the lava.

3rd: Brooke Ember (D12), Kicked off cornucopia by Sunnoria (D9), killed by lava

Shad quickly swiped his leg, knocking Sunnoria to the cornucopia's roof. Sunnoria attempted to stab him with her hunting knife, but Shad was simply too powerful for her. He easily took the hunting knife from her and threw it into the lava, making sure she wouldn't be able to fight him. After doing so the crying Sunnoria begged Shad to let her live, and as much as Shad would appreciate them both living, he knew only one can make it out. He grabs the girl by the throat, raising her up into the air. His grip tightens as he watches her gasp for air. Her struggles quickly started dying down, and she went limp. Shad threw her body down to the cornucopia roofing, raising his trident victoriously in the air.

2nd: Sunnoria Zea (D9), Strangled by Shad (D4)

"Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present to you the victor of the 2nd Annual Hunger Games, Shad Tiberio of District Four!"

Shad dropped his trident as the hovercraft lowered a ladder to pick him up, taking him out of the arena.

Aftermath:

Shad became the first ever career victor, and because of this he was adored by the Capitol and District Four. District Nine and Ten weren't the biggest fan of Shad during his victory tour, and they hurled insults at him. Nonetheless, Shad went back to District Four with honor and moved his family to the first victor's villa in District Four. Shad, who wanted to share his skills with the next generation, would open his own training academy, the first officially documented academy in Hunger Games history. Many of his academy's students would go on to win the Hunger Games. Shad retired from his academy on his 82nd birthday in 65 A.D.D. and his daughter would take over his job as the instructor. Shad passed away of natural causes in 78 A.D.D. at the age of 95.
