After a transporter malfunction, Kirk finds himself again in the mirror universe. Only this time he's alone, and little more than a slave after Spock's takeover of the ship. With no friends or influence in that world, he finds an unexpected ally in the ISS Enterprise's Doctor. In order to return to his own world, he'll have to form an awkward relationship with him...

On its way to a nearby starbase, the Enterprise encounters a signal, one that was sent by a Federation starship. As the crew learns more and more about the situation, they soon find that a wrecked ship is the least of their concerns.

Yet another Amanda and Sarek origin story. Four year old Sybok has just been sent to live with his father. Amanda prevents his injury one day, leaving Sarek indebted. She keeps coming up with ways for him to pay it off, but he continues to refuse that the debt is paid.

Doctor Leonard McCoy has just beamed aboard the Enterprise for the first time, as the new Chief Medical Officer. Of course introductions don't go as smoothly as he would have liked, though maybe this is better.

"We can handle this. After all," Kirk straightens up, and throws on a practiced grin. It's tight, hard to keep up, and extremely fake, but he can do this. They can do this. He places one hand on Spock's shoulder and the other on Bones'. "We are men of diplomacy."

After Sam's death, Jim's been suffering from nightmares. Spock and McCoy decide to ask what's causing his late-night pacing.

Admiral Morrow, Commander, Starfleet, is used to odd requests and larger than life legends. But when the largest of them comes to him with an unusual request, he's not sure what to make of it. In the Empire, its soldiers are expected to act in a certain way. Those who serve on the twelve starships sent out to explore space, and conquer new lands are the best of the best at exemplifying strength, courage, and cunning. Which is why Spock can not figure out how Doctor McCoy has survived for so long. He's a genius, but hardly cunning enough. In fact the doctor is too human.

"It's because he likes to see me squirm." At least he's relaxed enough to exchange barbs. "Do you really think so low of me Bones?" Kirk asks, clapping McCoy's shoulder. "It was to show you both, this." Kirk waves his hand in a way reminiscent of the doctor. Spock makes no mention of it but raises a brow, as he looks out the observation deck.
