Meeting Colress
The Eds, Sarah, Jimmy, and Maxiley are currently walking down a tunnel from Route 7 on their way to Lush Jungle. As they near the end of it, they see Dulse and Zossie standing near the end of it.
"What are they doing here?" asked Sarah.
"Who are they?" asked Maxiley.
"People we've met several times." said Edd. "They keep talking about something about the Blinding One, or something like that."
"What's the Blinding One?" asked Maxiley.
"We are uncertain of that." said Edd. "But, we should watch our step around these two." As they got close, they hear the two discussing something.
"What is this?" asked Zossie. "The numbers keep rising on my aura readings." The two turn around when they notices the group near them.
"Uhhh, Alola." said Maxiley.
"Ah. Zambesi. I bid you Alola." said Zossie. Dulse looks around the tunnel.
"Hmm... This fine tunnel... It is most fascinating to learn there are a variety of construction methods made possible by the Pokemon that lend their aid to humans." said Dulse. "Trial-goers clear many trials. It is only natural perhaps that such Trainers would exude aura after coming in contact with so many Totem Pokemon awash in aura."
"I suppose that could be true." said Edd.
"And you children seem to have even more Z-Crystals than the last time we met. Do you hope to master Z-Moves?"
"You bet your sweet bippy we do." said Ed.
"That wondrous light that appears when a Z-Move is used... We once had such a light on our world as well." said Dulse.
"Your world?" replied Edd.
"It was precious to us, even if we did not use it to battle with Pokemon..." said Dulse. Zossie turns towards him.
"Captain Dulse. It is almost time." said Zossie.
"While our technology is advanced, it must be modified to work to its fullest with Pokemon." said Dulse. "We must go now to meet with a scientist who is versed in the ways of Pokemon, or we will have no hope of achieving such a thing." With that, the two exit the tunnel, leaving the group with confused looks on their faces.
"What was all that stuff they were talking about?" asked Jimmy.
"What scientist are they meeting up with?" asked Edd.
"Who knows?" asked Eddy.
"We should be cautious if they are up to something." said Edd.
"Yeah." said Maxiley. They all soon exited the tunnel and find themselves on Route 8.
"Okay, everyone; once we get through Route 8, we should arrive at Lush Jungle." said Edd.
"I can't wait!" said Ed.
"And don't forget, we want to capture more Pokemon so they can help develop the Poke Pelago." said Edd.
"Then let's find some." said Eddy.
"Yeah!" The others say in unison. Soon, the group were gathered around Route 8, looking for more Pokemon. Ed was near the sea, fishing; something jerked his fishing rod. Ed pulls it, revealing a red, fishlike Pokemon on the end of the line.
"I caught a Pokemon!" said Ed. Edd runs to Ed while pulling the Rotom Pokedex out of his backpack and points it at the Pokemon.
"Magikarp, the Fish Pokemon. Thanks to their strong hold on life, dirty water doesn't bother them at all. They live in waters all over the world!" said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Magikarp's a water type Pokemon, Ed." said Edd. Ed nods and pulls a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Flaaffy, come out!" said Ed, throwing Flaaffy's pokeball and releasing her. "Flaaffy, Thunder Shock!" Flaaffy releases yellow electricity from her body and it hits Magikarp, dealing super effective damage. It falls into the sea and floats there, struggling to get away. Ed pulls a Dive Ball out of his backpack and throws it at Margikarp, hitting it, and sucking it in. It wiggled around a few times until it stops and clicks, indicating Magikarp's capture. "Yay! I caught a Magikarp!"
"Good work, Ed." said Edd. Magikarp's Dive Ball vanishes. Edd uses the Rotom Pokedex to learn more about Ed's Magikarp. "This says your Magikarp's a boy, he only knows Splash and Tackle; he has the Swift Swim ability." Ed fished again for a Pokemon, but caught a Big Pearl instead.
"Ooh; look what I caught!" said Ed.
"Excellent work, Ed." said Edd. He hears rustling from tall grass nearby. He looks and sees a light gray, birdlike Pokemon with an orange head and black beak. He points the Rotom Pokedex at it.
"Fletchling, the Tiny Robin Pokemon. Its body is always warm. Trainers who live in cold areas apparently sleep with it in their bed." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"I believe I will obtain this Pokemon to assist with the development of the Poke Pelago." said Edd as he pulls a pokeball out of his pocket. "Magnemite, please assist!" He tosses Magnemite's pokeball and releases it. "Magnemite, Spark!" Magnemite becomes covered in electricity, and it charges at Fletchling, ramming it, and dealing super effective damage to it. It becomes surrounded by static electricity, and it twitches. "I believe it's paralyzed now, making it easier to capture." He pulls an empty pokeball out of his backpack and throws it at Fletchling, hitting it, and sucking it in. After the pokeball wiggled around, it clicks, indicating a successful capture. "Success! I have captured Fletchling!"
"Way to go, Double D!" said Ed. Fletchling's pokeball vanishes. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex to look up Fletchling's information.
"According to this, Fletchling's a male, he knows Tackle, Growl, Quick Attack, Peck, Agility, and Flail." said Edd. "He has the Big Pecks ability, which prevents his defense from being lowered by effects."
"Cool." said Ed. He and Edd then leave to find the others.
With Jimmy, Sarah, Maxiley, and Eddy; they were riding around on Laprases, when a small, blue, manta ray-like Pokemon jumps out of the water in front of him.
"What's that?" asked Eddy. Edd lets the Rotom Pokedex fly over to Eddy, where it stops in front of the Pokemon, and analyzes it.
"Mantyke, the Kite Pokemon. Mantyke are friendly toward people and will approach boats closely. The patterns on their backs differ depending on their habitat." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Can I catch this one?" asked Jimmy. "It looks so cute."
"Go ahead, Jimmy." said Eddy as he puts his fishing rod in the water. Jimmy takes out his Pikachu's pokeball, and lets him out of it.
"Pikachu, use Thunder Shock!" said Jimmy. Pikachu lets out a stream of electricity which hits the Mantyke, doing super effective damage. The Mantyke suddenly twitches as static electricity covers its body.
"I think it's paralyzed." said Maxiley.
"Try catching it!" says Sarah. Jimmy nods and takes out a pokeball from his backpack and throws it at the Mantyke. The pokeball hits it, and sucks it in, then wiggles a few times before clicking, indicating a successful capture.
"Hooray! I caught Mantyke!" cheers Jimmy. He looks at the Rotom Pokedex to see Mantyke's data. "This says my new Mantyke is a boy, he's part water and part flying types, he knows Tackle, Bubble, Supersonic, Bubble Beam, Confuse Ray, Wing Attack, and Headbutt; and he has the Water Absorb ability which makes water type attacks heal him instead of hurting him.
"Good work, Jimmy." said Maxiley. He looks down and sees something sitting on a tall rock underwater. He reaches into the water and pulls out what appears to be a blue stone. "Oh, wow! A Water Stone!"
"What does that do?" asked Sarah.
"Can you take me to that little island over there?" asked Maxiley, pointing at a small island.
"Okay." said Sarah. She rode Lapras to the small island and Maxiley hops off Lapras. He takes a pokeball out of his pocket and tosses it, releasing an Eevee. "You have an Eevee, too?"
"Yeah." replied Maxiley. He kneels towards his Eevee and shows him the Water Stone. "You ready to evolve, Eevee?" Eevee smiles and nods. Maxiley touches Eevee with the Water Stone, and it begins glowing. It began to change shape; when it stopped glowing, Eevee now had light blue skin with a dark blue marking on its head, fins for ears and another on top of its head, a white fin around its neck, and its tail now resembled a long fish tail.
"What's your Eevee now?" asked Sarah.
"He's a Vaporeon now." replied Maxiley. The Rotom Pokedex floats to Vaporeon.
"Vaporeon, the Bubble Jet Pokemon and the evolved form of Eevee. It detects nearby moisture with its fin. When its fin begins trembling rapidly, that means rain will fall in a few hours." said the Rotom Pokedex. Maxiley looks at the Rotom Pokedex.
"It says my Vaporeon learned Water Gun when he evolved, and he has the Water Absorb ability also." said Maxiley.
Everyone also took the time to train their Pokemon. Ed's Dartrix learned Synthesis, his Grimer learned Fling, his Gigalith and Seel got stronger, his Flaaffy learned Electro Ball, and his Eevee learned Refresh.
Edd's Brionne got stronger, his Trumbeak learned Screech, his Magnemite learned Electro Ball, his Ariados learned Sucker Punch, and his Eevee also learned Refresh.
Eddy's Torracat Swagger, his Charjbug learned Crunch, his Noibat learned Roost, his Poliwhirl just got stronger, his Eevee learned Refresh, and his Meowth learned Feint Attack, and Taunt. His Meowth also picked up a Great Ball.
Sarah's Blissey learned Heal Pulse, her Ledian learned Baton Pass, Mrs Mime learned Substitute, her Alomomola learned Wake-Up Slap, her Eevee learned Refresh, and her Salandit learned Double Slap and Flame Burst.
Jimmy's Lucario learned Metal Sound, his Butterfree learned Safeguard and Whirlwind, his Pikachu learned Feint, Double Team, and Spark, his Wishiwashi learned Tearful Look and Take Down, his Lycanroc learned Stealth Rock, and his Eevee learned Refresh.
Maxiley's Larvitar's got stronger, his Crabrawler learned Payback, and his Vaporeon learned Water Pulse and Aurora Beam. Also, during the training, Larvitar began to glow.
"Hey! Larvitar's evolving!" said Maxiley. Eddy, Sarah, and Jimmy gather around Maxiley with Sarah being very close to him watched as Larvitar began to change shape. When the glowing stopped, Larvitar was now encased in a purple shell (a/n: don't forget, Larvitar was a shiny one, so Pupitar's shell would be purple instead of bluish gray) that had two holes in it for his eyes. The Rotom Pokedex floated to the newly evolved Larvitar.
"Pupitar, the Hard Shell Pokemon and the evolved form of Larvitar. This dangerous pupa thrashes about. Its shell is as hard as bedrock, containing its gradually forming new body within." said the Rotom Pokedex. Sarah looks at the pokedex.
"And this says Pupitar now has the Shed Skin ability." said Sarah.
"I remember that ability; It cures a Pokemon of a status condition by shedding its skin." said Jimmy. Sarah wraps her arms around Maxiley and hugs him.
"Congratulations, Maxiley!" said Sarah. She and Maxiley look at each other before Sarah pulls away and they look away, blushing.
After a while, Jimmy, Sarah, Maxiley, and Eddy headed back to shore where they met back up with Ed and Edd.
"Should we continue on our way?" asked Edd.
"Sure." said Sarah. As they walked by some sort of small building, they see Zossie and Dulse, talking to a man with blonde hair with a stream of blue hair circling around his head, blue glasses, a lab coat, and some gauntlets with small control panels on them. After a while, Zossie and Dulse walk away. The man turns around and notices the group.
"You there!" said the man as he walks towards them.
"Can we help you, sir?" asked Edd.
"Oh, excuse me! I'm a scientist. My name is Colress." said the man now known as Colress.
"What can we help you with, sir?" asked Edd.
"The theme of my research is: "Bringing out the potential of Pokemon." said Colress. "What brings out the potential of Pokemon is... I believe that it is the bond they share with their trainers."
"We are quite familiar with the power of the bond between a trainer and their Pokemon." said Edd.
"That is why my attention is drawn to Trainers such as you and your friends." said Colress. "Trainers bound to their Pokemon throught the power of the Z-Power Ring!"
"Fascinating." said Edd.
"Wait." said Colress. "Aren't you three the top trainers of the Lily of the Valley Conference?"
"Yeah, that's us." said Eddy.
"And this is my baby sister, Sarah." said Ed as he points at Sarah. "And that's her friend, Jimmy; and our new friend, Maxiley."
"It's nice to meet all of you." said Colress. He then looks up in thought. "Z-Power. Is it the true potential that I seek? Does it surpass the Mega Ring?"
"I'm certain that the answer will come to you in time." said Edd.
"Thank you, young man." said Colress. "Alola is fascinating! I believe I will stay here for some time!"
"We don't blame you." said Eddy. "This place is great."
"Now if you will all excuse me, I've had quite the curious request made to me by a couple of the most oddly dressed strangers." said Colress. He then turns and leaves.
"That was quite fascinating." said Edd. He looks up and saw it was nighttime. "Oh my; we've been so busy finding Pokemon that we've lost track of the time."
"Yeah. Let's get to a Pokemon Center; I'm getting hungry." said Eddy. They suddenly hear rustling coming from tall grass. Jimmy looks and sees a Ratatta jumping out.
"A Ratatta." said Jimmy. He quickly takes a pokeball out of his pocket and throws it, releasing his Eevee. "Eevee, Tail Whip!" Eevee runs to Ratatta and wags his tail onto it, weakening its defense. The Ratatta runs at Eevee and bites him.
"That was Bite!" said Edd.
"Eevee, Covet!" said Jimmy. Eevee leaps at Ratatta and swipes his paw across Ratatta's face, knocking it back. Ratatta runs at Eevee and rams him. "Eevee, Quick Attack!" Eevee runs at Ratatta with incredible speed and rams it, knocking it to the ground. Jimmy pulls an empty pokeball out of his backpack and throws it at Ratatta; it hits Ratatta and sucks it in. It wiggled around until it clicks, indicating a successful capture. "Yippee! I caught a Ratatta!" Ratatta's pokeball vanishes. Edd uses the Rotom Pokedex and uses it to look up Ratatta's information.
"This says your Ratatta's a boy, he knows Tackle, Tail Whip, Quick Attack, Focus Energy, Bite, Pursuit, and Hyper Fang." said Edd. "He has the Hustle ability, which powers up his physical attacks, but lowers his accuracy a little." Jimmy looks at Eevee.
"You did good, Eevee." said Jimmy. Eevee smiles in response and suddenly freezes. "Eevee, are you okay?" Eevee suddenly begins to glow.
"Eevee's evolving!" said Edd. Everyone watched as Jimmy's Eevee began to grow. When the glowing stopped, Eevee now had smooth, black fur, his ears were longer, and there were yellow rings on his upper legs and forehead, and around his tail and ears.
"What's my Eevee now?" asked Jimmy. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and points it at the newly evolved Eevee.
"Umbreon, the Moonlight Pokemon and the evolved form of Eevee. It lurks in the dark of night looking for prey. At the moment it pounces, the rings on its body glow dimly but ominously." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"According to this, your Umbreon's a dark type, he learned Pursuit upon evolving, and he now has the Synchornize ability, which makes it that when an opposing Pokemn afflicts Umbreon with a status condition, that opposing Pokemon will be afflicted with the same one." said Edd.
"Wow!" said Jimmy. He walks to Umbreon and hugs him, who nuzzles Jimmy in response.
"It's remarkable to witness two Eevee evolutions in one day." said Edd. Jimmy then returns Umbreon to his pokeball and the group walk to the Pokemon Center. After giving the nurse their Pokemon and Ed selling his Big Pearl, the group went to the cafeteria for dinner; afterward, they showered, and brushed their teeth and went to their room. They climbed into bed to sleep, for they need their rest for their next island trial at Lush Jungle.
