Jessica's Point of View
Xemnas took me to a circular white room. Thirteen chairs were sitting high above me, facing where I was on the center platform in the middle of the room. Seven of the seats were already filled by people in black coats, and Xemnas made eight when he teleported in the highest before beginning a monologue. "As you can see, I have brought her. She is still complete, so you need not worry. Once she becomes reacquainted with everyone, I'm sure she will be more than willing to help our cause. Vexen, until then, I am placing her under your watch. She will remain supervised at all times. That is all." Xemnas vanished, and all but two others did the same. One looked smaller, possibly even young.
"Zexion, the girl's wellbeing is no concern of yours. You have a mission to attend to," The taller man said. My breath hitched. His voice sounded like Daddy's. I didn't want to believe it and be given false hope, so I removed those thoughts from my head.
The younger one, Zexion, turned to Vexen and took his hood off. "Ienzo?" I gasped.
"Jess was- is my friend. I should be here with her," Ienzo stated.
"Unfortunately for you, that is not for you to decide. Go now before I inform Lord Xemnas of your insubordination. She will be here when you return," The other man snapped.
Ienzo turned back to me. "I'm sorry. I have to go. I'll be back for you. I promise. Just wait for me with Vexen."
"You're dead," I managed to say. Ienzo looked away as he disappeared. The other man teleported beside me. "He's dead. How is he- I saw him. He was dead." The man hugged me, and I almost knew he was my father, but I needed to be sure. I pulled back his hood, and tears poured down my face as I buried my face in his coat. "Daddy? How are you alive?" I held on to him tight in case he were to leave me again.
"You're my daughter. I should feel something. Love for you, happiness that you're with me, sad because you were without me for so long, but instead, I feel nothing. I am nothing. I was foolish enough to hope that you would bring back enough memories of emotions to make me feel something, but instead, I am chasing ghosts. I am Vexen, Nobody of Even. I will be your father, child, but not the one you deserve."
"It doesn't matter. None of that matters. Just don't leave me. Never. You can't go away again. I need you and Ienzo alive. Don't die again. I'll do whatever it takes." I knew my stream of pleading was pointless. It was clear that he wasn't the man he used to be, but it didn't matter to me if he was only a shell of the person he once was. He was my father.
