Jessica's Point of View
Daddy had me wait outside the room as he explained things to Xemnas. When they came out, and Xemnas left, Daddy took me into my room. His expression changed from calm to furious in a matter of milliseconds. "I hope you know that I hadn't planned on revealing our connection to anyone who didn't know! Do you even realize how much I just risked?!" Daddy's hold on my wrist tightened.
My eyes filled with tears. "I'm sorry. I won't do it again."
"It's too late for that now! The damage is already done!"
His grasp was becoming painful. "Please, stop. You're hurting me. I'm sorry," I pleaded.
Daddy let go of my wrist, but his expression was as stern as ever. "Jessica, I know things haven't been easy for you, but you need to understand something. You. Aren't. Safe. You need to be more careful."
"I didn't ask for your help. I can take care of myself," I remarked.
Daddy sat on my bed and set me on his lap. "That kind of thinking is going to stop right now. You will not take care of yourself because you don't know what's best for you."
"Oh, and you do?" I groaned.
"Jessica, I'm doing the best I can! What more do you want from me?!" He exclaimed.
"I don't want anything from you! Stay out of my way! I can handle things by myself," I screamed back, struggling to get away from him, but he was holding me really tight. My mission had nothing to do with my father. I was only there to keep an eye on Xemnas, and I didn't need him getting in my way.
"You may not like me right now, but I am still your father. You will not talk to me like that. Do you understand me?" He said quietly.
I became enraged. "If you're my father, then where were you when the King and Queen of Sunset Kingdom ignored me? Where were you when they sent me away to live with strangers? Where were you when those strangers were gone? I didn't need you then. Sure, it was nice when things were different, but now, I don't need you." He held me tighter than necessary to the point where he started hurting me, so I started struggling even harder to get away.
"I wasn't there for a good reason. You will understand someday. Now you will listen and obey me, or else your afternoons will be highly unpleasant. Do you want that, Jessica?" He asked.
"You're hurting me! Let go!" I screamed.
Suddenly, Lexaeus came into my room and ripped Daddy's hands away from me. I ran behind my silent hero. "What are you doing?" Daddy asked.
"I'm going to take Jessica on a trip, giving you time to settle down before you do something you would have regretted. She's just a child, Vexen. We'll discuss this when we get back," Lexaeus stated. He picked me up and walked through a dark corridor. "Are you alright?" He asked.
"Yes. Thank you," I replied.
"I know Eve- Vexen can be over-the-top sometimes, but he acts that way because he cares. I hope you know that."
"Yeah. I guess I do," I sighed.
