Jessica's Point of View
When Lexaeus took me back to the castle, he told me to stay until he was finished talking to Daddy. I still didn't feel prepared to face him, so instead of waiting, I went to see Master Yen Sid.
"Jessica? I hadn't expected you back so soon. Have you found any vital information?" Master Yen Sid asked.
"Um..." I couldn't tell him I was just avoiding seeing my father again. He would treat me like a child for sure and question if I was ready for such a mission. Maybe he would even keep me at the tower. "I met my mother. Does that count?"
"How?" Master Yen Sid gasped.
"One of the members of the Organization took me to see her. The one who used to be called Aeleus," I explained.
"I see," Master Yen Sid sighed, pausing to stroke his beard. "Jessica, we must limit contact to avoid suspicion. I recommend meeting here once a month, and no more unless an urgent or large development takes place. We must exercise great caution in the future. This visit is much too close to the last."
I bowed. "I understand. I should return before I am missed."
"That would be wise. Be safe, Jessica. Should you need to turn away from this mission, know there is no shame in doing so. You have already done more than enough, and I will always find a place for you where you will be protected from any threat that attempts to hunt you down," Master Yen Sid assured me.
"Thank you," I said before I turned to leave. I was foolish to come here when I was supposed to be back at the castle. If I wasn't careful, I would be found out.
1/21/2023: I rewrote this chapter and gave it a new name. The original idea of this chapter was to have Master Yen Sid have a cell phone so that Jessica could contact him through that, but I never had them talk on the phone, so I changed the main idea this chapter brings.
