Jessica's Point of View
Daddy came into my room the next morning. "Are you ready to go?" He asked. I grabbed the duffle bags I had packed, but I struggled. I had never carried so many since I had never spent a week at Mommy's house before. Daddy took them from me. "Perhaps you should carry this, and I'll carry these," Daddy suggested, handing me the present for Mommy.
"Sounds good," I smiled.
When we got to Mommy's house, Mommy was sitting on the front porch.
"Mommy, guess what? Daddy and Xemnas said yes!" I shrieked with joy as I ran to her.
"That's great! I'm so excited," Mommy smiled, getting up to her feet.
Daddy walked past her to set my bags on the floor inside before coming back out to give Mommy a proper greeting. "Happy birthday," He said before kissing Mommy.
I waited for them to stop before holding the present to Mommy. "We got this for you. It's from both of us! I picked it out."
"Oh, thank you. You didn't have to do that," Mommy said as she began to unwrap her present.
"Of course we did. I would never hear the end of it if we had a repeat of last year," Daddy commented.
I giggled, recalling when Daddy forgot last year and Mommy made remarks about it to this day.
"Oh, that's all in the past. Water under the bridge," Mommy assured him. She opened the box to find a silver necklace with pink jewels and matching earrings. "It's beautiful. Will you help me put it on?"
Daddy smiled in a way that he only did when he was around Mommy. "Of course." He took the necklace and fastened it around Mommy's neck.
Mommy grinned as she turned to Daddy before stepping closer to him, closing the distance between them. She hugged Daddy, and he hugged her back. "Will I see you tonight?" Mommy asked.
Daddy didn't answer right away, but he pulled away from her when he did. "Jessica will be here."
"What's that got to do with anything?" I wondered.
Mommy and Daddy turned their attention back to me. "Nothing, sweetie. Come on, let's go inside," Mommy said.
I started to follow her but then turned back to give my father one last hug. He bent down and hugged me back. "I'll see you soon, Jessica. Behave."
"I love you, Daddy," I said.
"I love you, too, Jessica," Daddy replied.
I whispered to him, "You don't have to tell me that. I know you can't. That's okay. I love you and Mommy enough for the both of us."
Daddy's only response was holding me tighter before letting me go. He looked sad, but I knew he couldn't really be sad. He was probably remembering what it would be like if I said that to him when he had a heart. "Enjoy your time with your mother."
"I will. Bye, Daddy," I assured him.
Daddy put on a small smile. "Goodbye, Jessica." He left through a dark corridor.
"Let's get you unpacked," Mommy prompted.
I took her hand and followed her inside.
Samantha: I just wanted to let you know that I saw your review for Three Spare Keys to the X-blade, and I will continue eventually, but I want to watch Descendants again before I do. It's just a matter of finding time to do so.
