Jessica's Point of View

Mommy was making dinner when there was a knock at the door. Mommy looked uneasy as she came out to the living room where I was. "Go wait in your room, Jessica. Shut the door and don't make a peep until I tell you it's alright," She said in a low voice. I obeyed instantly, unsure of what would happen next. I heard a voice that sounded familiar, but it was muffled, so I couldn't tell. Mommy opened my door and came to my room shortly after. "Jessica, it's alright. It's a good friend of mine. You can come out."

I followed Mommy back to the living room and was shocked to find Master Yen Sid. "W-what are you doing here?" I gasped.

"Jessica, don't be rude. Uncle Yen was a good friend of my father's," Mommy explained. The smell of burning wafted through the air, and Mommy raced to the kitchen, making small shrieking noises as her attention turned to our now inedible food.

I crossed my arms, suspicious. "Did she just call you Uncle Yen?" I questioned.

"Your grandfather and I were very good friends. Your mother saw me often in her youth," Master Yen Sid replied.

"That still doesn't explain why you're here now," I commented.

"I try to visit her around this time since her father cannot. He would try, but now he has moved on from this life," Master Yen Sid said.

"You and my grandfather must have been really close," I realized.

"We were," Master Yen Sid stated before taking a seat on the couch. "He wouldn't have wanted this for you. Perhaps it's time you abandoned your post and left Organization XIII."

"W-what are you talking about?" I gasped.

"Jessica, we both knew this was coming. You have done more than enough. I should never have encouraged this in the first place. I have failed you and your grandfather. I will be back for you soon, but I don't want you going back with the Organization. You will still see your mother just as often, if not more so. I will ensure that," Master Yen Sid decided.

"What about my father?" I snapped.

Master Yen Sid closed his eyes and stroked his beard in thought before replying to me. "Jessica, your father is a Nobody. He cannot love you. Should anyone in the Organization say otherwise, they are lying. You don't belong there. When are they expecting you to return?"

"In two weeks," I lied.

"I will come for you two days before then," Master Yen Sid stated.

I was relieved that I lied and told him I would be with my mother for longer. By the time Master Yen Sid came for me, I would be long gone.

Mommy came back into the room. "I'm getting takeout," She huffed, slapping a takeout menu on the coffee table.

"Yay!" I cheered.

"Don't you start," Mommy scolded, but she was smiling along with me.

Samantha: It really depends. Sometimes there's a new chapter the same day, sometimes it can be months. I'm not consistent.
