Jessica's Point of View
When my week was over, Mommy and I waited outside together for Daddy to come and pick me up. I saw the familiar shape of a dark corridor. "Daddy!" I shouted as I ran to him and hugged him. "I missed you so much."
"It was only a week. Didn't you have fun?" Daddy asked.
"We did. It was just a long week," Mommy spoke up.
"I see. I would love to stay for a while, but we have to be going. Come, Jessica," Daddy urged.
I let go of Daddy, and he took my hand as we started to walk back to the dark corridor.
"Even!" Mommy called.
Daddy turned back toward her.
"No matter what, keep her close, okay? You have to be there for the both of us when I can't."
"I'll continue to try my best," Daddy assured her.
"Bye, Mommy," I said with a wave.
"Goodbye, my sweet Jessica," Mommy replied with a smile.
"What was that all about?" Daddy wondered.
"Nothing," I lied.
If Daddy knew I was lying, he didn't press for answers. Instead, he changed the subject. "Lord Xemnas wishes to speak with you. Be prepared for that."
"Oh. Okay. Will I see you tonight?" I questioned.
"If you wish," Daddy answered.
I gripped Daddy's hand a little tighter. "I love you, Daddy."
Daddy sighed. "You know I can't-"
"I know. It's okay."
